Graph axis configuration during acquisition

   Hi all,
I have a simple question, that is not-so-easy to solve apparently. In two words, here is what I want to do :
1) I have a laser providing a voltage (analogic signal), acquisition with a DAQmx card.
2) I developed a simple application that acquires the signal, writes it into a LVM file. This works fine.
3) I added a sliding graph to visualize DURING 30s the evolution of the time over time (the voltage measuring tremor).
The problem is: I cannot configure my sliding graph in order that it begins on the left of the graph, and finishes ont the right of the graph. Simple, isn't it? But in fact, as long as the X-axis is composed of some strange stuff that is always dependant of the time of the system (hour, seconds and so on), so sometimes my signal appears at the beginning of the acquisiton somewhere between the two extremes of the graph. What I would like simply is: min value of x = 0, max value of x = 30s, and visualize continuously my signal over time from the left to the right of the graph. I tried to configure the mi/max value in the graph options, but this did not work.
I'm pretty sure that there is a simple way to do this, but I do not know it !
If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it !! ;-)
Julien

Thank you
again for your answer. However, this is not completely clear for me. So what I
did to simplify things:
1)
I still use a DAQ assistant to acquire data under dynamical data format, 10 samples to read, 100 Hz.
2)
I use now a classical graph, in which I have the option to ignore time
stamp (this option was not in the sliding graph, except in the Properties
panel, and was not kept in memory from one trial to another).
3)
As I have chosed the option “ignore time stamp” onmy classical graph, I
have my x-scale OK from 0 to 30s. My Y-scale is OK also.
4)
The acquisition works fine.
BUT : I see
the signal evolution only from x=0 to x=0.1 (I think that this is related to 10 samples to read/100 Hz),
repeating again and again, and only in this range. How can I do in order to
obtain a CONTINUOUS evolution from 0 to 30 and not only in this very small
range?
Thank you
again VERY much for your help, which is HIGHLY appreciated.

  • LMS3.2 - Campus User Tracking - Configure Subnet Acquisition

    Hi,
    under
"Campus User Tracking - Aministration - Acquisition - Configure Subnet Acquisition"
Then I have the window with "Perform subnet based acquisition", there is the list with "Available Subnets"
    1.     From where are coming these subnets?
    2.     Where can I configure this list, add/delete subnets?
    Regards Marcus

These subnets come from the routers that Campus Manager is managing.  You cannot manually add subnets to this list.  They will be discovered automatically from the devices managed by Campus.

  • Read Axis Configuration

Is there any way to read the Axis Configuration in Labview from MAX? My system involves a PCI-7352 Motion Controller, two Parker motors (C3Manager) and Labview 7.1.1. I want to be able to check the "Type of Feedback" to insure that the operator has set the motors up correctly in MAX. The motors can be set up (using the C3Manager) in either velocity mode or position (torque) mode. I have two separate Labview control programs for each setup.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

There is no interface that allows you to read this setting from MAX in LabVIEW, but you can write it with the "Configure Axis Resources.flx" vi. So if you want to make sure that the axis is configured with the correct settings just overwrite them with the desired values.

  • Problem with the number format in the graph axis with Report Generation Toolkit.

    Hi!
I'm trying to use the Report Generation Toolkit to plot some graphs in Excel.
My first problem is that I don't know how to configure the number format in the Excel Set Graph Font.vi so that my numbers are correctly displayed in the graph's axis. The only given option is general (0,0) but this is not enough for me, my numbers can get really small so I need engineering notation or fraccional format.
Second: I also insert a table with the graph source data, but the numbers are not correctly displayed either: for example:
    0,75 is shown as:
    0,750000
    but 1,25  is shown as:
    1!250!000
My guess is I am making to much or wrong string to number conversions or Excel is getting it wrong but I can't find my way...
Can someone help me with this?
    Thanks,
    Isabel

Here is my VI, it's just a trial so it can look messy...
    Thanks,

  • Two universe objects on the same graph axis

I am trying to create a bar-stacked graph in the Web Intelligence document. I add \[Period\] universe object to X axis, \[Total\] object to Y axis. Then I want to add two objects to Z axis:
\[Sector\] (has values: Europe, Asia, America) and \[Status\] (has values: Active, Validating)
The problem that it makes a cartezian product between all value, so the output is:
    Europe/Active
    Europe/Validating
    Asia/Active
    Asia/Validating
    America/Active
    America/Validating
    But, what I want is:
    Europe
    Asia
    America
    Active
    Validaing
Is there any way to do this? Maybe with the help of some universe parameters, or REBean SDK...

I even tried to re-write the "run method" in tthe invocable in a way that caused it to, in a loop, perform a delay and then re-try its calculations when it received a runtime exception with the text "Storage is not configured" causing the retreival a new named cache each time but this did not help - it never seemed to recover...
Since I dont see any of my application classes in the "class cast" trace-back I assume it is an Coherence internal problem or can you thiink about some user programming error that could cause it? I am by the way not using any long or "Long in my application...
    Best Regards
    Magnus

    Hi Magnus,
The log you provided seems to indicate that the problem was caused by the de-serialization of the “AggregateFilterRequest” message. The only explanation we have is that you are using a custom Filter that has asymmetrical serialization/deserialization routines, causing this failure. Could you please send us the corresponding client code?
Meanwhile, we will open a JIRA issue, to make sure that Coherence handles this kind of error more gracefully.

  • XY Graph Axis's autoscale but no plot shows?

I just don't undestand XY Graphs.
I have folowed the examples, tried the xy graph express vi,  even gone as far as copying and pasting the example vi right into my own program.
The axis's autoscale but the plot never shows on the graph?

You only generate one point for each iteration of the large FOR loop and, unlike charts, XY graphs don't keep a history. You might get what you want by double-clicking the "Built xy graph" express VI and unselect "clear data on each call". I don't really use that feature.
How fast does the loop run? Maybe it's OK to build the x and y array at the loop boundary and only plot at the end of the loop (green insert of image)? FOr continuous update while the loop is running, you could also build the x and y arrays in a shift register (upper part of image).
Notice that you don't need to do the complicated detour via a 2D array. Simply keep it as 1D array and insert an "array to cluster" for the chart (see image). Don't forget to set the cluster size to 3 by right-clicking on "array to cluster".

  • Loose graph axis with cursor in 3d graph

I added a cursor to a 3d contour plot, which gives location and z value.  have displayed as xy projection.  when I am moving the cursor, I loose the x and y axis, and the contours become dots.
kind of annoying.  any properties I can change?

    Hello Ennis,
I don't know if there is a property that can accomplish what you want.  I have been playing around with the 3D graphs for quite awhile.  I'll keep looking and let you know if I find anything out.

  • Alert Configuration during Mapping

If Source XML does not have some values, I have to create alert from PI.
I have to send Mail to Sender.
How I can configure alert during mapping.
I need step by step solution as I am new for Alert.

    Hi,
You can do it in two ways,
when Source message missing some fileds ,then you can check Condition in Receiver determination, then create receiver mail adapter to send an email its very simple.
    or
When some fileds misisng in source message, when will happen your message mapping is it fails??if yes then then you can raise alerts for mapping errors.
SEARCH IN SDN for step by step guides to create alerts.

  • OBIEE 11g - sorting graph axis based on metric

Hi, I'm trying to create a graph that show employee counts by various colleges on campus. I want the graph to look something like this (sorry for a text version, don't know how to upload a screenshot..this is supposed to represent a horizontal bar graph...):
    College Employee Count
    College 1 =================
    College 2 ============
    College 3 =======
    College 4 ====
i.e. I'm trying to list the college dimension going on the vertical axis, but I need the values sorted in order of highest employee count to lowest, not alphabetically.
I haven't figured out how to do this with a normal graph, but I have been able to do this using a pivot table and then displaying the associated view. However, I'm still having a major issue with this. If there are a lot of colleges selected (we have about 40 total), then the graph doesn't show a axis label for every bar. Instead, it looks like only every 4th bar is being labeled, the rest have bars but no labels. This really isn't (at all) what I need. I need each and every bar to be labeled.
One solution I guess would be to (greatly) increase the vertical size - maybe change from Canvas Height = 330 to Canvas Height = 1024 or something. Unfortunately, that would make the graph take up the entire dashboard. And if a user had filter criteria set to only have 4 colleges selected, the graph would look horrible. What I really need is a simple scroll bar that lets the user scroll up and down in a fixed window. Is there any way to do that - or any similar functionality I could use? I see something called "Enable Zoom and Scroll" but haven't quite figured out how that works.
    Thanks in advance!
    Scott

Actually, I've figured out that "zoom and scroll" is exactly what I want...sort of...
To make the graph show up properly, I can zoom twice on the vertical axis and everything works great. Only problem I'm having is that if I save the graph, exit and go back in, the "zoom" setting isn't saved. Anyone know a way to get the zoom setting to "stick"?
Also, is there a way to make the zoom icon (the little hourglass) always show up, instead of just when you happen to hover over it? An end user might not know it's there if it's not visible.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • XY Graph Axis Custom Scale

I have a graph in excel that I am trying to duplicate in labview.  I'm having trouble setting the scaling for both axis so they look like the excel graph.  Any suggestions?  I attached the vi I'm using that just plots one line currently.

If you create a property node of the x scale marker values, you can control the displayed x scale values except the min and max values are always displayed. Also make sure the x scale style is select to display the intermediate values.
    - there is always an easy way, but it is always the hardest to find

  • Graph Axis Format, 2 lines

I am working with an XY graph with Time on the X-Axis and I have a question regarding the formatting options.  I can include both the date and time, but they are written in a single line, reducing the number of major ticks I can have for a given graph size.
Is it possible to include a line feed or carraige return so that the date and time are written with 1 above the other?  I tried using /r or /n but these were merely written into the axis tick labels.  Is there an escape code to use or is this not possible?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It's not a "/r" or "/n" (forward slash), but "\r" or "\n" (backwards slash). And, when you write your constant on the BD, you have to format the string in the right-click-dropdown menu as "\ Codes Display" or you will get literally "\n" (if you then look at it as "\ Code" you will see "\\n").
