I have a new server installing Grid Control 11.1. Linux RHEL 5 rel 2 64 bit. Installed database 11.2.0.1 on this server (applied patch set 9352237). Installed JDK 1.6 (following note 1063587.1) and WebLogic 10.3 (note 1063112.1). When launching the Grid Control installer, I'm getting the following:

libXpm-3.5.5-3.x86_64I know this is just a DISPLAYor xterm issue, but I can't figure out what the issue is. The installer for the database (11.2.0.1) in the same session launches without error. I've tried running the installer with --ignoreSysPrereqs passed and same issue. Is there a library mismatch somewhere? Is the installer for Grid Control that much different from that of Database 11.2.0.1 (apparently, since the database installer launches while grid control doesn't). What obvious things am I missing in checking?

I too had the same issue on linux. Check whether libXtst package is installed or not. Also, close the existing session and open a new window after the installation of the package.
Package "libXtst (i386)" in RHEL/OEL 5 will be automatically installed with "Default RPMs" installation type. If RHEL/OEL 5 is not installed with "Default RPMs" Installation type, then please install missing package "libXtst (i386)" and then re-try.

I'm trying to run a digital logic simulation tool called "atanua" but I'm getting a missing library error:
$ atanua
/opt/atanua101120/atanua: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL_image-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I tried re-installing both atanua (from AUR) and sdl_image (from repos) but the error remains.
$ ldd /opt/atanua101120/atanua | grep sdl_image
libSDL_image-1.2.so.0 => not found
I can find the "missing" library though:
$ locate libsdl_image
/usr/lib/libSDL_image-1.2.so.0
/usr/lib/libSDL_image-1.2.so.0.8.2
/usr/lib/libSDL_image.a
/usr/lib/libSDL_image.so
And so can the loader:
$ ldconfig -v | grep sdl_image
libSDL_image-1.2.so.0 -> libSDL_image.so
My initial thought is that the problem is a name mismatch between the program and the system, but I don't know the proper way to fix this. Does anyone know what I should try next?

You're right. Some how [multilib] got disabled in my pacman.conf so I didn't spot a 32-bit version of the library. I uncommented the [multilib] lines, searched again, and found it. Problem solved. Thank you.

The situation with Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 and version earlier than it (in particular 3.0/3.0.2) is disturbing with regard to MPEG2 Activation.
Adobe document says that it no longer supports MPEG2 Activation for versions 8.0/8.0.1 and earlier and points the users of this group of products to a version later than 8.0/8.0.1, the current latest version 12.
But, I am not sure of the real answer. The doubts are cast by the findings of some who have claimed to have solved the problem using a uninstall/ccleaner/reinstall scheme when they have been met by the MPEG2 Activation issue.
But, I would ask....Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your Windows 7 64 bit computer? And, are you working with version 3.0 as the 3.0.2 Update?
Is it still possible to run your Premiere Elements 3.0/3.0.2 on the prior computer on which it was installed?
Also, does your Windows 7 64 bit come with Windows XP Mode
Install and use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7
which is essentially a virtual Windows XP Professional SP3 32 bit.
As last resort, and highly experimental, but would you have time to experiment by replacing your latest version of QuickTime with the QuickTime Alternative 1.8.1 and then determining what happens with your Premiere Elements 3.0/3.0.2 Windows 7 64 bit situation? Do not bother with the MPEG Streamclip program download, just the QuickTime Alternative 1.8.1.

11g Grid Control - Host Configuration Collection Problems

Hi Guys,
I just installed Oracle 11g Grid Control and it has been running for 2 weeks until I recently tried to walk through the parts of it.
My intention was to clear off all the error messages, critical warnings, alerts, and policy warnings.
When I arrived at the development summary box, on the home tab, I can see that there is 1 collection problem.
When I clicked it, I saw that apparently the problem is with the host where I installed the grid control.
Problem type: Warning during collection of Oracle Software
message: Unknown WLS Home Location or WLS Version in Middleware Home /u01/app/oracle/product/middleware
I tried clicking on the "Refresh Host" button, but it didn't solve the problem at all.
I have also tried to take a look at the targets.xml however it seems the configuration in there are already pointing to the correct path to the weblogic home.
Please let me know if anyone has a suggestion for this.
Searching from google doesn't really return anything closely matched to this.

What is the intent/timeline for fixing this bug? On MOS, it appears to have a status of "Status 33 - Suspended, Req'd Info not Avail". We are encountering this bug also and I would glady provide information from our systems in order for the issue to be resolved.

PostScript: FWIW, Google yielded a blog referencing this error and Doc ID 1433113.1. I am unable to access that document (as was the blogger). Because of this, and another major caveat (our machines with this collection error do not have WLS installed on them), I'm thinking this probably needs to be an SR rather than a forum discussion.

OOBE Error When installing CS6 on Mac. Cannot open Media DB

So i am trying to install CC on a mac 10.10 OS, and when i run the install package, it runs the startup scripts, then flashes to validating install and them come up with a error that the installtion has failed
Looking at the logs is says
ERROR OOBE Cannot open MediaDB
It says that four times

media.db file is located under below location. Please try deleting the existing one and then give a try. also, please give full control access to below location..
MAC HD>library>application support>Adobe>caps>media.db

I have a mac book that will not open up DVD's recorded with a presentation. I install the disc in a HP / windows 7 and it works fine. I had my hard drive replaced and since then I cannot open up DVD's. Was there a application that did not get installed? And if so what is the process.

You need DVD Player. It should be in your Applications folder. If it is in there go to System Preferences>CDs & DVDs and for "When you insert a video DVD" make sure DVD Player is selected.

The iOS 6.1.4 still haven't solved the problem of updates. Cannot open Updates and feel baddddd! Please help~

I swapped with SIM from my wife's. My SIM worked on her phone but her SIM didn't work on mine. Ended up taking to an apple store and they restored the phone. Didn't have a recent backup, so lost a few things.
After restoring, turning on/off of LTE service choice is available again. BUT, option to link duplicate contacts not there anymore. Don't know yet on what other problems are there. Very disappointed with the quality of the upgrade. They are definitely software bugs.

You need to update Pages v5.2.2 to v5.5 via the OS X App Store. Yosemite requires Pages v5.5(.1).

Need help with a download and install problem with PS Elements-Elements opens but Premier has error popup

I purchased PS Elements and Premier Elements through Academic Superstore as a download on Aug. 8, 2014. I am installing on a MAC Book Pro 10.9.4, and have tried reinstalling 3 times. I also searched the error messages on support and could not find the error I am getting. Every time I am able to open the Elements file will open and work, but the Premier file has a window pop up that says: The Following disk images couldn't be opened: Image - PremiereElements_12_WWEFDJ.dmg Reason - image not recognized. Does anyone have a solution?

Installed Creative Cloud and now cannot open inDesign.

Hi Guys,
I would love a little bit of help please.
This was my setup before downloading Creative Cloud trial:
- Windows 7 SP1
- inDesign CS6 fully licensed
- Photoshop CS6 trial mode, 11 days remaining.
I then wanted to trial out a few other pieces of Adobe software so installed the Creative Cloud trial to make it easier to download them.
Now however, my inDesign fails to launch. It shows the indesign.exe in Task Manager but no windows on screen. It slows down my computer whilst the process is active but its showing 0% CPU use.
The trials I have downloaded via CC work great, the Photoshop that was on also still works.
Could the Creative Cloud have knocked out my inDesign due to conflicting licenses?

Hi Steven,
You should be able to have both on the system without issue. I would just try uninstalling and reinstalling InDesign CS6 and re-enter the serial number.
