Grid control report
Is there a way to run a report in grid control of the # of SQL statements run daily against a database? (select, update, insert, delete) they are trying to track the transactions daily in the production environment. Thanks in advance!
or
EM grid control -> Reports -> Create
Under the General Tab
Title : Test report - host performance for emx.us.oracle.com
Category : Monitoring
Sub category : Perfromance
Target Type : Host
Use Specified Target : emx.us.oracle.com
Ensure that the following is checked
-- Run report using target privileges of the report owner (SYSMAN)
-- Time Period - Last 7 Days
Under the Elements Tab
Add -> Metric Details -> Continue
Then
Click on "Set Parameters"
Time Period : Inherit Report Time Period
Targets
Select Metric : CPU Utilization (%) : Load
When finished click on continue
We can select another metric, so under the same Elements Tab
Add -> Metric Details -> Continue
Then
Click on "Set Parameters" (now there will be 2 rows)
Time Period : Inherit Report Time Period
Targets
Select Metric : memory Utilization (%) : Load
You can do a Preview and it should show you the graphs
When finished, select the Schedule Tab and put in the details

10.2.0.4 Grid Control reporting EM repository is down
I am confused by the status GC is reporting for my OMS and my EM repository. OMS is obviously up if I am accessing GC isn't it? And why would it show my EM repository is down. I couldn't be looking at Grid Control and monitoring all my targets successfully if the EM repository was down. I guess it's one in the same. OMS is showing down because it says the EM repository is down. If Iook at the home page for the database instance for my EM repository I see the following: Database Instance Status UP, Listener: Up. Agent connection to Instance: Failed. Failed to connect to database instance TNS destination host unreachable. The agent on the OMS is up and running fine. All the other targets that are running on the OMS are up so the agent must be working? I don't understand what this is telling me. What exactly is down? I am running 10.2.0.4 GC and have a 10.2.0.4 agent on 32 bit Linux. Is this a problem with the 10.2.0.4 agent? At one point I think I saw a message about problems with the 10.2.0.4 agents and someone said stick with 10.2.0.2. I need 10.2.0.4 agents because they have fixes required for the provisioning jobs. Any ideas on this?
How do I know if dbms_jobs is running or not? What is the EXACT command to execute? Searching metalink I don't find any documentation on this and have no idea how to get that information. select * from dbms_jobs doesn't work as table does not exist. And if dbms_jobs is not running, how do I fix that? Is there some command to issue to start dbms_jobs? Here is the output from the agent.

Generate Grid control reports in Portuguese ...
Hello,
I am able to generate (and email) built in database space usage report, I have a requirement where the report has to be in portuguese language and not in english.
Any help here would be appreciated.
Thanks,
S.My problem is solved. There were two issues, that I see which makes sense :
I was trying to generate a report on a particular node from a 2 node RAC Database. Actually If you want to generate a report for a cluster database you should not go to a particular node instead you need to select the CLUSTER database, and then navigate to reports and generate reports.
The other thing which was suggested in this thread; that there were some of the alerts which were not configured due to which some of the reports are not getting populated.
Thanks a lot to all the experts who gave there valuable suggestions and expert advises to resolve the issue.
To me it looks like 10.2.0.5.0 agent and OMS has all the fixes for reporting issues.

Can i use classes or grid control (alv) in normal report
Hai,
Can i use Grid control or classes in normal report. If yes what are the steps that i have to go for.

I can See under Report->Storage->Oracle Database Tablespace Monthly Space Usage
But this is only for once database and I want to include all the database in single report that too with limited INfo
Want the format something like..just wanted to make you guys
Database Actual Size on 1st Actual Size on 30th INcrease in Size

Something close to above format will do...
Thanx

Error creating a user defined report in the grid control
I am trying to create a simple User Defined report in the Grid OEM
Under the 'Elements' tab I have a 'Type' - 'Database Table from SQL'
And I have this 'Statement' - SELECT * FROM SYS.DBA_USERS
When I Click the 'Preview' button I get this error.
Error rendering element. Exception: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
I'm logged on as SYSTEM.
Isn't the SYS.DBA_USERS table accessible by SYSTEM?
Any advice on what I'm doing wrong/

How to create custom reports on tables other than mgmt* views.
To create reports on other tables, grant permissions to MGMT_VIEW user as MGMT_VIEW is responsible for creating reports in grid control
SQL> GRANT SELECT on SYSMAN.<table_name> to MGMT_VIEW;
And then create the reports in the reporting framework referencing SYSMAN.<table_name> in the query.
I tried GRANT SELECT on SYS.DBA_USERS to MGNT_VIEW but this did not work. -
Creation of reports from Grid control 12c
Hi All,
I wish to create some reports from Grid Control and push to mail especially looking for Daily Health Check report like Tablespace,Locks,Alertlog file errors,File systems,Archivelog files sync information in to one report.
Thanks in advance. The native reporting application i.e. Information Publisher does not support such a feature, but in you are using BI Publisher integrated with EM, then BIP allows you to control when to email reports. for example, on completion, on failure, etc ..

Building reports around grid control database.
As a part of Grid control support activity many times we need spend hours to verify if all the targets have been assigned rules and thresholds so that they can generate alerts well before the trouble occurs.
So i was wondering is there any way by which which can write some script that will scan all the targets and find out which are not assigned to rules.
I am not sure if i can access these information from grid control database.
Can somebody help me in this ? is there any way to find out which rules have been assigned to which target or what is the threshold assigned to a particular targets by writing sql query / using oracle packages ?
Appreciate help in this regard. Here is some sql I use for this purpose..
(I comment out pieces and such to tweak what I am reporting against)
Run this as sysman in your repository db.

Multiple ALV Grid Controls per report - problem with default displ.variant
Hi,
I have a report with few screens called sequentialy. Each one of the screens has implemented own instance of ALV Grid Control within custom container, means:
- screen 100 has container Cont100 and grid control "grid100",
- screen 110 has container Cont110 and grid control "grid110"
- screen 120 has container Cont120 and grid control "grid120"
and so on...
Each one of the grid controls is initialized with own field catalog table, with own layout and variant structure definitions. My problem occurs when the user changes the display variant for some of the grid controls and save the layout variant using "default setting" checkbox. In this case next time the program is started all other grid controls behaves like they don't have their own variant definitions, but uses the default setting of the mentioned screen. This leads (usualy) to unsuable grid controls by default, because usualy different controls have no equal field-definition tables. I have the same behaviour even when there are more than 1 ALV grids on a single screen (for example - 2).
For now I don't provide variant variables at selection screen, but it seems there is no way to provide such variables for each one of the grid-controls.
Is anyone aware how to control this? Means no matter if there is default setting in use for some of the grid-controls, how to manipulate other grid-controls not to use this default setting?
Many thanks in advance.

Performance reports using Grid Control
Hello!
Can we create and schedule database performance reports using oracle 10g grid control?
Thanks.Hi
Yeah its possible to generate the performance reports using Grid Control.
Ex:
Oracle Enterprise Manager GRID Server contains built in reports to support Database Administrators to generate sightly reports.
First Thing is to click to "Reports" tab on the top, right hand side of the GRID Management Console (figure_grid_management_console). This page is where all the predefined and custom reports can be find. Now click on the "Create" Button on top of the page to create a new custom report. "Create Report Definition" page comes to the screen. There are four tabs for the definition of the report. -
How to create dynamic web report in 10G Grid Control
Hi experts..
In OEM 9i, it provides a OEMgenerationServlet servlet to generate dynamic Web reports, my company uses the servlet to generate many OEM report, those reports cal also take parameters, such as dabatase name. the generated web reports are viewable to public end users. I am looking for a similar function in 10G Grid control...
Does anyone have the similar requirement, any suggestion will be highly appreciated..
Regards,
JinsenHi,
Thank you for the reply. I read about Clear and Purge from Oracle Doc about 10gR2, but nothing about R1. I drilled down all the way, can't find any thing to click for clear and purge. And I can't find anything from Oracle Doc, either.

Statistics report from Grid Control
Hi All,
How to generate a report from Oracle 10.2.0.5 Grid Control with the details about when the statistics were last collected in all the databases. A mail with these details from all the databases should be sent from Grid Control.
Why is this script not working?
SELECT ui.index_name, ui.last_analyzed, ui.table_name
FROM user_indexes ui
INNER JOIN user_tables ut ON ut.table_name = ui.table_name
WHERE ut.temporary = 'N'
Please help.
Thanks,

Daily Report using Grid Control
Hi guys
I would like to know if there is a way to schedule some daily reports under the Grid Control?
There are some cool reports that I wish to receive automatically in my mailbox everyday.
I don't know how to do that.
Thanks
Brahim DRIHEMHi,
It's very simple.
Select your report (with the radio-button) and click Edit.
Go to the schedule tab
Select "Schedule Report"
Select "Repeating" and fill out the details here
select "E-mail report each time the scheduled report completes"
Enter your mail address
Press Ok button.
Hope this helps.
