Grouping column in same table based on status of other column

Hi,
MyTable( eid, ename, status, did);
MyTable2(did,dname);
Status column have data in 1/2.
did is forieng key to Mytable2.
i want o/p like:
DNAME , count(eid with status =1) ,count(eid with status = 2)
Please help me in writing query.
Regards,
Krishna

One possibility (untested):
SELECT      DNAME
,     COUNT((CASE WHEN STATUS=1 THEN 1 ELSE NULL END)) CNT_STATUS_1
,     COUNT((CASE WHEN STATUS=2 THEN 1 ELSE NULL END)) CNT_STATUS_2
FROM     MyTABLE
JOIN     MyTABLE2 ON MyTABLE.DID = MyTABLE2.DID
GROUP BY DNAME

  • Insert data in same table based on some condition

    Hi. I am new to this forum.
    I have to write a stored procedure to Insert Data into a table say MYTABLE ,having structure as:
    Col1 Col2 Col3 ................ TotalInstallments CurrentInstallment PaidAmount MonthYear
    I have to insert all the data as it is in the same table(MYTABLE) except changing some fields on basis of some conditions:
    1. if PaidAmount>0 && CurrentInstallment<TotalInstallment then
    CurrentInstallment=CurrentInstallment+1
    2. In the MonthYear field I am having data in formate(month/year)ex. 01/2012, 11/2012 ....
    So I have to insert data by incrementing month and year. for example:
    if currentdata is 11/2012 then next data will be 12/2012
    But next will be 01/2013
    I have to select all the records which belongs to previous month(through MonthYear field ) and put checking & changes on each record of the selected data and then insert them into same table(MYTABLE).
    How to achive that?
    Thanks.

    Every thing is working fine but some strange result as:
    when i run my Procedure TRANSFERDATATONEXTMONTH
    1. by Passing Value as : CUSTOMERID_var ='ABX101' and MONTHYEAR_var='12/2012' it insurts 5 rows
    which is correct , since I have 5 records where CUSTOMERID='ABX101' and MONTHYEAR='12/2012' and
    new 5 rows has CUSTOMERID='ABX101' and MONTHYEAR='01/2013' (all other values are as expected)
    2. now when i again run by passing values: CUSTOMERID='ABX101' and MONTHYEAR='01/2013' it inserts 10 records(just double )
    and new records has value CUSTOMERID='ABX101' and MONTHYEAR='02/2013' (while on the basis of condition CUSTOMERID='ABX101' and MONTHYEAR='01/2013' i have in my table only 5 records)
    and all records are duplicate. Some times it inserts three times , while on condition basis it should no. What is happening?Probably, meanwhile you were trying to Insert the First time and the second time, someone did run the procedure that Inserted 5 More records for 01/2013. And, hence your Second run inserted 10 records instead of 5.
    >
    Why it is inserting double of records while i have only 5 records on given condition? Am I missing some thing?Yes, you are. You are missing your Tables, Your Dummy/Sample Data, Working Procedure/Function that can be replicated.
    Without this, we cannot simply believe on assertions that Oracle is behaving incorrectly.
    In addition to this, the GetMonthYear function, should be scrapped. It is un-necessary, when the same logic can be achieved using Oracle ADD_MONTHS function (See my previous post). And you are storing the MonthYear in a Varchar field, which ideally should be a Date field. This eradicates the un-wanted need to cast from VARCHAR - DATE - VARCHAR.
    Please do make some time to read {message:id=9360002} and mentioned relevant details.
    And notice, the code difference in my previous post and in your code.
    Please use
    {noformat}
    (exactly as shown) above and below your code, that indents the code properly for better readability.

  • How to call or not call a Trigger in same table based on condition?

    Hi
    How to call or not call a Trigger in below situations..
    If a table contains a record of same value i.e,
    [i[u]]ID
    1
    1
    3
    In above ID 1 is repeated for two times.
    In this situations i don't want to call a trigger..
    But, the value ID is for 3, now i want to fire a trigger.
    Based on this i want to delete in another table.
    How can I check it?
    Thanks

    Thanks for ur reply..
    The below is my scnario..
    I am having two table
    employee
    Id empcol
    101 111
    101 222
    102 444
    Department
    id deptcol
    101 457
    101 678
    102 543
    The above is my table structure no one column is PK, so i m not able create FK.
    When I am deleting from employee where id =101 and empcol=111,
    the above record is deleted.
    At present I am using After Update Trigger..
    So trigger is called and delete the id 101 in Department table.
    In my scenario i can't delete a record in Department table
    bcoz i am having id morethan 101 in employee table.
    If employee table contains one ID like 102 the Trigger should works.
    How can I check the condition After delete on employee table it contains morethan same employee id?
    The below is my Trigger..
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER CALL_TRIGGER
    AFTER DELETE ON Employee
    FOR EACH ROW
    DECLARE
    count_id pls_integer;
    BEGIN
    SELECT COUNT(*) INTO count_id from Employee WHERE ID <>:new.ID;
    IF( count_id >1) THEN
    DELETE FROM Depratment where ID=:old.ID;
    END IF;
    END;
    I am geting an error ORA-04091 table is mutuating, trigger cannot seen it.
    I had tried with package and package body also.. But no luck.
    Thanks

    The first line of your code; is the syntax correct?
    INSERT TableA
    yes
    so far as table structure matches with the source you dont need a column list
    Just use destination table name instead

  • Deleting rows from table based on value from other table

    Hello Members,
    I am struck to solve the issue said below using query. Would appreciate any suggestions...
    I have two tables having same structures. I want to delete the rows from TableA ( master table ) with the values from TableB ( subset of TableA). The idea is to remove the duplicate values from tableA. The data to be removed are present in TableB. Catch here is TableB holds one row less than TableA, for example
    Table A
    Name Value
    Test 1
    Test 1
    Test 1
    Hello 2
    Good 3
    TableB
    Name Value
    Test 1
    Test 1
    The goal here is to remove the two entries from TableB ('Test') from TableA, finally leaving TableA as
    Table A
    Name Value
    Test 1
    Hello 2
    Good 3
    I tried below queries
    1. delete from TestA a where rowid = any (select rowid from TESTA b where b.Name = a.Name and a.Name in ( select Name from TestB ));
    Any suggestions..
    We need TableB. The problem I mentioned above is part of process. TableB contains the duplicate values which should be deleted from TableA. So that we know what all values we have deleted from TableA. On deleted TableA if I later insert the value from TableB I should be getting the original TableA...
    Thanks in advance

  • Join between Header & Detail tables based on age and group

    To find the age & group  amount in detail table based on  age & group_id in header ?
    Example: Let's take the seq_id =1 from header,it has age= 60 & group_id=23 (23 Months).
    In the detail table xx_detail,the age column represents the age of the person (0-65 represents the age in between 0 to 65 and so on).
    If the age is null,then that row indicates the group (0-12 represents the group in between 0 to 12 months ).If the age is not null,then the group1,group2,group3 have the amounts data.
    So Now i have to get the amount as 240(as my header seq_id=1,age=60,group_id=23 as it falls under 0-65 age & 13-59 group ).So i need a sql query to find the correct amount in detail based on header record. We have to pass the parameters age & group_id and get the amount from detail tables.Can anyone provide inputs how to achive this in the simplest way.

  • Render a column based on other column value in the same table

    JDev 11.1.1.6.0
    This may be a silly question but I am stuck
    I need to conditionally render a column say A. Condition is like if the value in the other column B of same table is equal to F. I should render column A only when this condition is satisfied. I have tried the following code:
    <af:column sortProperty="PhoneNumber1"
    sortable="false"
    headerText="#{bindings.A.hints.PhoneNumber1.label}"
    id="c146"
    rendered="#{row.PhoneNumber1ResponseFlag eq 'F'}">
    <af:outputText value="#{row.PhoneNumber1}"
    id="ot130"/>
    </af:column>
    <af:column sortProperty="PhoneNumber1ResponseFlag"
    sortable="false"
    headerText="#{bindings.B.hints.PhoneNumber1ResponseFlag.label}"
    id="c80" rendered="true">
    <af:outputText value="#{row.PhoneNumber1ResponseFlag}"
    id="ot129"/>
    </af:column>
    The data shown in the table for column  PhoneNumber1ResponseFlag is F. Still my condition is not working.

    Timo was saying that it is not possible to render the column in some situations and not in anothers, you will always have to render the column.
    The best way to do this is instead of showing a column with the text ' ', show something meaningfull to the user. This is a DataWarehouse advice to you and may be usefull since you're using ADF in a area that uses DataWarehouse..
    So the code could be something like this (based on Timo's code):
    <af:column sortProperty="PhoneNumber1"
    sortable="false"
    headerText="#{bindings.A.hints.PhoneNumber1.label}"
    id="c146">
    <af:outputText value="#{row.PhoneNumber1ResponseFlag eq 'False.' ? row.PhoneNumber1 : 'No value applied.'"
        id="ot130"/>
    </af:column>
    <af:column sortProperty="PhoneNumber1ResponseFlag"
    sortable="false"
    headerText="#{bindings.B.hints.PhoneNumber1ResponseFlag.label}"
    id="c80">
    <af:outputText value="#{row.PhoneNumber1ResponseFlag}"
        id="ot129"/>
    </af:column>
    Hope that helps,
    Frederico.

  • Two LOVs in same UIX page based on the same table

    Hi group,
    Recently I ran into a problem with a UIX page that has two LOVs based on the same database table. In Emp and Job terminology, here's what I tried to do.
    Suppose we have use the Employees and Jobs tables from the HR scheme with one small modification. Add a column called PREFERRED_JOB_ID of type VARCHAR2(10) which is exactly the same as JOB_ID. Hypothetically speaking, this column will be used to allow Employees to select their preferred job in case they want to change their jobs.
    Next, create business components in JDeveloper based on the Employees and Jobs table. In order to be able to generate the LOVs for Job and PreferredJob create two ViewObjects, one called JobsLookupView and one called PreferredJobsLookupView. These both need to be based upon the same Jobs EntityObject. Also include the Jobs EntityObject twice in the EmployeesView ViewObject and give one the alias PreferredJobs. Include the JobTitle attributes of Jobs and PreferredJobs in EmployeesView so they can contain the JobTitles selected in our future LOVs.
    Next create a ViewController project if it's not already there and enable JHeadstart on it. Create an Application Structure File and create the lookups for the two LOVs. When I run the application I see this happening:
    When I click the flashlight icon next to the PreferredJob LOV and select a job, the PreferredJob field is selected in the UIX page but no job title appears. When I next first select the Job LOV and select a new job and then select the PreferredJob LOV again and select a different job, the job that was selected in the Job LOV is now also entered in the PreferredJob field. When I make sure the PreferredJob field isn't required (remove the required="yes" property on the messageLovInput entry for PreferredJobTitle and remove the PreferredJobTitle field from the addRequiredRowItems list in the UIX page) I can save the changes I made in the Employees.uix page. The same JobId is stored in the database for Job and PreferredJob.
    This behaviour is probably due to cacheing issues because both LOVs and the EmployeesView ViewObject use one EntityObject for four values in three ViewObjects.
    So I then modified my model a bit. I created a new EntityObject called PreferredJobs based on the JOBS table. I modified the EmployeesView ViewObject to use this EntityObject for the PreferredJobTitle attribute and modified the PreferredJobsLookupView to use this EntityObject.
    I needed to modify a few things as well in the Application Structure File (which were prompts and whether or not the attribute should be visible in a table) and after regenerating I made sure the PreferredJob attribute isn't required in the UIX page. When I then run the application again, I never see the JobTitle I select in any LOV allthough the PreferredJob field is selected when I select a Job in the PreferredJob LOV. The correct JobId now is stored in the database though.
    Has anyone ever encoutered this behaviour? Would anyone know how to get two LOVs based on the same table in one UIX page?
    Thanks in advance,

    OK I figured it out. When I added the second Lookup ViewObject (PreferredJobs) no additional Association was created. Therefore, ADF BC wasn't able to figure out which field to update. When I added the Association between the PreferredJobs Lookup ViewObject and the Employees ViewObject everything started working ok.
    I then recreated my inital situation: one EntityObject for Jobs and one for Employees, now with two Associations between them. After modifying the Employees ViewObject and making sure the Jobs EntityObject was referred twice and via the corresponding Association, everything started working ok.

  • Data of column datatype CLOB is moved to other columns of the same table

    Hi all,
    I have an issue with the tables having a CLOB datatype field.
    When executing a simple query on a table with a column of type CLOB it returns error [POL-2403] value too large for column.
    SQL> desc od_stock_nbcst_notes;
    Name Null? Type
    OD_STOCKID N NUMBER
    NBC_SERVICETYPE N VARCHAR(40)
    LANGUAGECODE N VARCHAR(8)
    AU_USERIDINS Y NUMBER
    INSERTDATE Y DATE
    AU_USERIDUPD Y NUMBER
    MODIFYDATE Y DATE
    VERSION Y SMALLINT(4)
    DBUSERINS Y VARCHAR(120)
    DBUSERUPD Y VARCHAR(120)
    TEXT Y CLOB(2000000000)
    NBC_PROVIDERCODE N VARCHAR(40)
    SQL> select * from od_stock_nbcst_notes;
    [POL-2403] value too large for column
    Checking deeply, some of the rows have got the data of the CLOB column moved in another column of the table.
    When doing select length(nbc_providercode) the length is bigger than the datatype of the field (varchar(40)).
    When doing substr(nbc_providercode,1,40) to see the content of the field, a portion of the Clob data is retrieved.
    SQL> select max(length(nbc_providercode)) from od_stock_nbcst_notes;
    MAX(LENGTH(NBC_PROVIDERCODE))
    162
    Choosing one random record, this is the stored information.
    SQL> select length(nbc_providerCode), text from od_stock_nbcst_notes where length(nbc_providerCode)=52;
    LENGTH(NBC_PROVIDERCODE) | TEXT
    -------------------------+-----------
    52 | poucos me
    SQL> select nbc_providerCode from od_stock_nbcst_notes where length(nbc_providerCode)=52;
    [POL-2403] value too large for column
    SQL> select substr(nbc_providercode,1,40) from od_stock_nbcst_notes where length(nbc_providercode)=52 ;
    SUBSTR(NBC_PROVIDERCODE
    Aproveite e deixe o seu carro no parque
    The content of the field is part of the content of the field text (datatype CLOB, containts an XML)!!!
    The right content of the field must be 'MTS' (retrieved from Central DB).
    The CLOB is being inserted into the Central DB, not into the Client ODB. Data is synchronized from CDB to ODB and the data is reaching the client in a wrong way.
    The issue can be recreated all the time in the same DB, but between different users the "corrupted" records are different.
    Any idea?

    Hello,
    I am using Oracle 11.2, I would like to use SQL to update one column based on values of other rows at the same table. Here are the details:
    create table TB_test (myId number(4), crtTs date, updTs date);
    insert into tb_test(1, to_date('20110101', 'yyyymmdd'), null);
    insert into tb_test(1, to_date('20110201', 'yyyymmdd'), null);
    insert into tb_test(1, to_date('20110301', 'yyyymmdd'), null);
    insert into tb_test(2, to_date('20110901', 'yyyymmdd'), null);
    insert into tb_test(2, to_date('20110902', 'yyyymmdd'), null);
    After running the SQL, I would like have the following result:
    1, 20110101, 20110201
    1, 20110201, 20110301
    1, 20110301, null
    2, 20110901, 20110902
    2, 20110902, null

  • Report with multiple COUNT columns with counts from same table

    I am new to discoverer so I am a bit lost.
    I am working to create a report to show usage data from the eBusiness Knowledge Base. I have the query written in SQL using subqueries that is in the format:
    Solution Number | Soultion Title | Solution Views | Positive Feedback | Negative Feedback
    12345 ___________ Title ________ 345 ____________ 98 _______________ 34
    The 'Views', 'Positive' and 'Negative' entries are stored in the same table so i am doing a count where setid=setid and usedtype=VS, then counting where usedtype=PF and usedtype=NF
    In discoverer I can get the solution number, title and ONE of the totals but I can't seem to figure out how to get a COUNT for three different things from the same table in columns on the same row.
    When I go to edit sheet -> select items once I select the COUNT option for the UsedType column in the table CS_KB_SET_USED_HISTS I can't select it again. I also have found now way to add a column based on an entered query.
    If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    added ______ to correct spacing.

    Hi,
    You can separate the column by using a case or decode.
    for example create 2 calculations:
    case
    when usedtype='PF'
    then <you original column> --- the one contain them both
    else 0
    end
    case
    when usedtype='NF'
    then <you original column> --- the one contain them both
    else 0
    end
    after that you can create the count aggregation over those.

  • Setting the header of a Column group in a Advanced table dynamically

    Hi All,
    There is a requirement to set the Header of a column group in a Advanced table dynamically by fetching the values from a view attribute.
    Code :
    OAAdvancedTableBean spiderTbl1 ;
    Problem:
    It is not able to set the value for the header inspite of getting the handle of the bean.
    Analysis:
    the same piece of code works for
    1) Setting the text of the advanced table
    2) Setting the header of a column in a column group
    Please let me know if there is anything more that needs to be done for setting the prompt of a column group header.
    Thanks in advance!

    I have posted it without giving the complete code by mistake. Below is the code:
    OAAdvancedTableBean spiderTbl1 ;
    OASortableHeaderBean spiderHdr1;
    spiderTbl1 = (OAAdvancedTableBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("SpiderCatTbl1RN");
    if (spiderTbl1!=null){
    spiderHdr1= (OASortableHeaderBean)spiderTbl1.findChildRecursive("AnalogHdr");
    if (spiderHdr1!=null) {
    spiderHdr1.setAttributeValue(OAWebBeanConstants.PROMPT_ATTR,
    new OADataBoundValueViewObject(spiderHdr1,
    "SpiderCategory1",
    "ProjRegPVO1"));
    }

  • Creating View based on Current and previous data from same table

    I am trying to create a view based on a table called “my_companies”. The table has following columns: “company_id”, “start_date”, “product_type_code”, “partner_id”
    The main purpose of this view is to obtain previous company_id’s associated with a particular “partner_id“and “product_type_code”. So basically, I’m looking to create an extra column, say “prev_company_id” in the view along with all the other columns. The “previous” data can be obtained depending on the “start_date”. I’m not able to write a query successfully to do this.
    Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Whenver you have a question, it helps to post:
    (1) The version of Oracle (and any other relevant software) you're using
    (2) A little sample data (just enough to show what the problem is) from all the relevant tables
    (3) The results you want from that data
    (4) Your best attempt so far
    Executable SQL statements (like "CREATE TABLE AS ..." or "INSERT ..." statements) are best for (2).
    Formatted tabular output is okay for (3). Type before and after the tabular text, to preserve spacing.  The sample results should include any special cases that you foresee, such as one company having many previous companies, or vice-versa.
    It sounds like might need a +self-join+, where you have two copies of the same table, as if the current companies were in one table and the previous companies were in another, even though they are all actually in the same table.
