Grouping & protected cells on EPM protected list

     Hello, colleagues!
     I have two requirements for input forms in EPM Excel add-in
1) Only data input ready cells should be not protected (in order to hide all worksheets support formulas, prevent user from unacceptable actions and so on)
2) Excel standard grouping functionality should work (groups already exists, users want just to use it and not to create/delete them)
     It seems that we can't implement this two requirements in the same time:
ProtectSheet_ProtectContents - allow to implement (1) but locked (2)
ProtectSheet_UserInterfaceOnly - allow (2) but cells doesn't locked (1)
     Also i have tried all other available parameters for EPM list protecting and had no result.
     Any ideas? or somebody can confirm that it is no possible?

Hi Alexander,
This is not a BPC issue, it's Excel issue. It can be only solved with VBA code in the workbook open event (solution is not persistent):

"Allow Group Protection" in IRM

We have a SharePoint Online library with IRM enabled. View only in browser, no download, and 99.9999% of staff are seeing it at the permission level of "View Only." The only exception is me (Site Collection Admin) and the person maintaining
the library. It is mission-critical stuff.
We just launched the other day, and I'm getting hit with approval requests every time someone wants to share any document using the SHARE tool, even when both sender and recipient have the same rights to it (View Only). So, Employee 1 goes to SHARE
the document with Employee 2 (in the sense of "Here's that information you were looking for") and I'm having to approve each time. This doesn't work as a process...they should be able to freely share the document to each other.
I see a setting in IRM for "Allow Group Protection," which SEEMS from what I can read, allow members of a group to share the document with each other. However, I can't select any SharePoint Group for that permission! All of our employees are coming
in under the "Team Site Visitors" label. It seems to accept only Active Directory groups.
I do have an AD group with everyone in it, but will A.) adding this group into that box generate some kind of message to everyone (which I do not want to happen), and B.) will this do what I hope, which is to allow employees to freely share documents without
me getting involved?

there is a workaround you can try, create audience and add DL to them and deal with the audience or convert DL to groups

It sounds like you need to enable Text Message Forwarding on your iPhone for your iPad to send MMS/SMS messages through your phone.
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity
Go to Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable the device(s) you would like to forward messages to.
Your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch will display a code. Enter this code on your iPhone to verify the SMS feature.

Making Groups in messaging and recent contacts list for sent messages !

I can't find any option for making groups for sending messages or getting list of recently sent messages to contacts. Every time I ve to scroll for contcts for multiple messaging or searching for contacts !
Is there any option for that ? Pls do let me know if so.

Guidance needed...cell value based on list?

I'm trying to populate a cell based on a list of possible values and a count result from another cell. Short of making a big ugly if(), is there a way to do this? Here's an example of what I'm trying to do:
Cell A (count result): 5
List:
1 = 1.25
2 = 2.5
3 = 5
4 = 9
5 = 16
Cell B (result): 16

I like to handle problems such as yours with two tables, one to place the input and receive the output, and the other contains your data. An auxiliary column is added to the data table with the numbers 1, 2, 3, ... to refer to the values you want to select.
The second is a four cell table including headers. Enter the number you want in A2 and the matching value appears in B2. Formula for cell B2 is:
=LOOKUP(A2,Table 1 :: Aux,Table 1 :: List of values)

It's been suggested that somehow you may have emails being routed to your SMS, which is passing marketing emails from Apple to your text messaging. Go here:

and unsubscribe and see if the SMS messages then stop. You can also check your Apple ID:

When i highlight a group of cells the sum and average return a 0 yet there are numbers in the cells. Any ideas?

I am using numbers to automatically calculate wages, when I highlight a group of cells containing the numbers 4 4 3 I would expect to get a sum value of 11 but i get nil? any ideas would be greatfully appreciated.

Are the cells formatted as text rather than as numbers?

Gradient over a group of cells

How do I apply a single gradient fill over a large group of cells?
Every time I try to place one contiguous gradient across Row A and B, for example, I end up with a gradient for row A and the same yet separate gradient for Row B. I would prefer one gradient starting at the top of A and ending at the bottom of B.

You may apply the gradient fill to a 1-cell table as background for a multi-cell table, setting the multi-cell table fill to None so that the gradient of the background cell will show through. Just drag the 1-cell Background Table over the Working Table and set the size to match, then Arrange > Send to Back.

Just addition, for history of RDP Connections, please open Registry Editor and follow the path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Default. Please check if find MRU registry items where the name (or the IP address) of the terminal server is kept in.
Please also follow the path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\Servers. It contains
the list of all RDC (remote desktop client) connections that have ever been established from this computer.
When expand Server folder and select a node, you will see the UsernameHint key that show the name of the user connected by rdp.
Please back up registry items to avoid unexpected issues before any operation.

Create Protection Group Hyper-V Virtual Machines Not Listed

We are in the process of testing DPM 2012 R2 and we are trying to backup our Hyper-V virtual machines on both cluster hosts and stand-alone Hyper-V hosts. We have deployed the DPM agent to all cluster hosts and the stand-alone hosts, but when we go
to create a protection group, we do not see Hyper-V Virtual Machines listed under "HyperV". We are expecting Virtual Machines to show up as shown in Step 7 of this guide: http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2013/11/07/dpm-2012-r2-quickstart-deployment-guide.aspx.
We have DPM 2012 R2 UR4 installed and Hyper-V role is enabled on the DPM server.
Is there something extra we need to do or something we are doing wrong?

Thank you for your help. For our cluster, we realized we weren't seeing any VM's under the Cluster Node because an agent was not installed on our of the Hyper-V hosts in the cluster. As for the stand-alone Hyper-V host and the cluster node listing
within the "Create New Protection Group" wizard, it looks like MOST of the VM's have the "Backup Using Child Partition Snapshot" option, but no longer show as "Online" or "Offline". I believe this is due to the
way the Hyper-V backups are done w/ DPM which was changed either in R2 or one of the Update Rollups.

IE11, TPL (Tracking Protection List) not blocking XMLHttpRequest

Can anyone confirm that (or the opposite)? I've tried writing all sorts of filters in the TPL list, and verified by viewing my TPL in IE11 that the filter rules are well formed.
I'm using IE11 build 11.0.9600 (Windows 8.1). Is there a way to post the above as a suggestion to the IE dev team?

Group Added With dscl Command Not Listed In Account Prefs

I added groups for each user per article 307128 using the dscl command:
sudo dscl . create /Groups/username GroupMembership username
sudo dscl . change /Groups/username RecordName username _username
But these new groups are not listed by the Account preferences on my new MacBook. They are listed on my iMac G4. Both machines are running 10.5.2. The accounts on the new MacBook were migrated from the iMac.
A dscl list shows that the groups are defined:
sudo dscl . list /Groups
And when I try to add a new group called _username with Account preferences I get an error saying the name is in use.
Any idea how to get Account preferences to show these groups?

ovithucu, in your contacts app, swipe down from the top bezel to Settings.
In the list of "Show Account in Contacts List", turn OFF each account shown, leaving none ON.
Tap the lower left BACK button.
Now, back in the main Contacts view, drag down on the screen to see the total number of contacts, what number is there?
Those are you "Local" contacts, stored locally in the device memory. Those can be cleared if you want, and start all over again.
Also, check your gmail account on a PC, login and see how many contacts you have in gmail which should be sycning to the device.

Group Titles not working in Marker lists

I've created a special alphabetical list of markers, using a custom name for the marker. The list generates just fine and I have the page formated as I want, except for the need to add group titles.
I created, on the resource page, a GroupTitlesAML paragraph format. The line on the resource page looks like:
Symbols[\ ];Numerics[0];A;B;C;D;E;F;G;H;I;J;K;L;M;N;O;P;Q;R;S;T;U;V;W;X;Y;Z
But it is completely ignored.
Are group titles even available for marker index lists, or only for actual index markers? In other words, is GroupTitlesIX only available with files that have the IX suffix?
I also noticed that doing something like "<Emphasis>maker text<Default Para Font> more marker text" is ignored, in that all of the text appears in the marker list. The special text is not even parsed as special text.

Michael is correct. If you want an index, then create an index of markers (IOM), NOT an alphabetical list of markers (AML). A list, being a list, does not have group titles, there being no grouping in a list. Thus, the GroupTitlesAML is meaningless for a list.
I have a user-defined marker called warning. I also create an index of my warning markers (IOM). Although I do not group them under group titles, the IOM reference page does have a GroupTitlesIOM line that basically groups them all together.
So, create an index or markers, not a list or markers.

SQL SELECT with GROUP BY: Retrieve records for a list of customers

I need to write a SQL statement to retrieve a list of customers, which are in two tables of different natures, say T1 and T2.
The customer is a FK in both tables. Both tables have a column which is the date of an order.
INPUT:
* list of customers, say '12345, 34567, 45678'
OUTPUT
* REF CURSOR to a recordset containing: {custID, startDate, endDate}
Algorithm
* For each customer, find the date of first order (from T1 and T2)
* For that date, t0, startDate=t0-10 days; endDate := t0+15 days;
I have a feeling some GROUP BY is involved to do the trick.
Can it be done without any looping? I am just not experienced enough to solve this in an optimal way.

I'm not sure what your data is, or shat you want for output.
If your tables can have many rows for the same customer_id, but your output should have only one row per customer_id, then it sounds like you do need to "GROUP BY custiomer_id".
If the data is coming from two different tables, first do a UNION of those two tables in a sub-query (like union_data below), and then do a GROUP BY on the results of the sub-query.
It will probably be more efficient if you GROUP BY in the sub-query, too.
I believe you need something like this:
WITH     union_data     AS
     SELECT       customer_id
     ,       MIN (order_date)     AS start_dt
     FROM       t1
     WHERE       customer_id     IN (12345, 34567, 45678)
     GROUP BY customer_id
UNION ALL
     SELECT       customer_id                    -- column names may be different from t1
