HAL Error :Exception raised: com.oberon.runtime.OverflowException: Type Mis
Hi All,
Can some please help me to get out of this HAL error .
I was facing the below error from HAL routine .
In bound routine failed at 3/12/2009. Exception raised: com.oberon.runtime.OverflowException: Type Mismatch: Overflow
Thanks in advance
Edited by: Hyp on Dec 30, 2009 3:44 PM
I am not sure this will help in any way, but type mismatch and overflow mean the following:
Overflow: Too many characters. In other words the process could have expected "+" but instead was "something, something, something, dark side"
Type mismatch: seen quite often in relational databases, and VBA (also java) where you are expecting a 'number' and instead receive a 'string'. so for example it expected 123456, and received "Account 123456" or something along those lines.

Marshal Exception raised when using an union type
Hi,
I am using jdk1.4.0 and I am experiencing a problem when using union types. I was wondering if anyone would have experienced the same problem ? Or would have any idea of a possible workaround ?
Here is the code :
=========
module X208 {
typedef string AE_form1Type;
typedef long AE_form2Type;
enum AETypeChoice { form1Choice, form2Choice };
union AEType
switch(AETypeChoice) {
case form1Choice:
AE_form1Type form1;
case form2Choice:
AE_form2Type form2;
module HelloApp {
interface Hello
string sayHello(in any param);
=========
My code, in the client, looks like this :
AEType ae = new AEType();
ae.form2(14);
Any many = orb.create_any();
AETypeHelper.insert(many, ae);
string Hello = helloImpl.sayHello(many);
I have noticed that, each time I send an AEType form1 (a String) in the Any, it works fine. But when I try send an AEType form2, it fails with a Marshal exception (see below).
I tried to switch form1 and form2 (actually their types : string and integer) to see if the problem was linked to the integer, but it failed the same on form2.
When checking the bug database, there is one bug which might be close to this, but it's supposed to be fixed now (#4518206).
Did someone experience the same problem ? Am I doing something wrong here ?
Thanks for your help !

HAL errors when executing a runtime process (windows .exe) outside Vignette
Hi,
I have a flow diagram where I load data form txt source into Hyperion Performance Scorecard Adapter.
I built an exe in order to run the activity in a computer without HAL.
When I execute my exe file from HAL it is working, but then when I try to execute it from outside it is not working. I'm getting this errors:
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no prtjt42 java.library.path
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary <Unknown source>
at java.lang.runtime.loadLibrary0<Unknown source>
at java.lang.system.loadLibrary <Unknown source>

at com.oberon.runtime.ProsperoRuntime.<clinit><Unknown source>
at com.oberon.runtime.ProsperoRuntime.SetValueClass<Unknown source>
at com.vignette.integrate.runtime.ZipFileRuntimeMain<Unknown source>
Any idea? Do I have to put anything in CLASSPATH and PATH??
Thank youHi John,
I didn't do it because I read this in the HAL user guide:
For Windows runtime targets, select the Copy needed VBIS DLLs option to
copy all required runtime DLLs to the directory where the adapter process
files will be created. Use the option only if all of the following three
conditions are true:
• The adapter process will only run locally
• The adapter process will reside in a location other than your VBIS bin
directory
• The VBIS bin directory is not in your path
I think I have to define CLASSPATH but I don't know what to put in this env. variable...
Any idea?
Thank you! -
Exception Raised error, not sure how to fix it.
So I bought this game, Dragon age origins, and I try to launch the application. When I do, I get this error " Exception raised,
Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000038 at address 0x0088d374.
Do you wish to debug it ?"
It has a Yes and a No. Clicking yes has the application shut down, and No justs leaves me with a black screen.
I was wondering if there's a general way to get rid of this error.Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Then...
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Exception has been thrown by the type of initializer for 'Com.Apple.IPCU.Ma
Hello, sorry I do not speak very good English. I have a problem post, when I launch the iPhone Configuration Utility, I get the following error: "Exception has been thrown by the type of initializer for 'Com.Apple.IPCU.ManagedMobileDevice . MobileDevice '. Does a person have a solution. Thank you
I don't have a specific resolution but I have written many synch plugins and I don't recall seeing this error before.
So your synch plugin is for items ... if there are no items in the queue that explains why you don't see any errors. As soon as you add an item you get errors in 2 places ... that's probabaly because synch plugins and be configured to run "before" or "after" the WebTools synch so the core synch needs to load the dll and see when it's supposed to call it.
Since you get this error in 2 places, I don't think it's related to your specific code (especially since you used the tester app).
My guess is it's related to security/permissions.
Try this, right click the dll in the plugins folder and select properties and see if there's a button at the bottom to "UnBlock" the file.
If you don't see the button, try re-assigning the parent folder permissions. Right click the plugins folder, select Properties / Security / Advanced. Click checkbox for "Replace permission entries on all child objects ...." and click OK.
Do you have your own dll for DataAccess (or anything else) that your plugin needs? In the past I've had to copy this dll to the SynchManger folder instead of into the plugins folder with the synch plugin dll. -
Error in Raising exceptions in a method and handling the same in the WF
Hi All
I tried to implement Raising exceptions in a method and handling the same in the workflow
in the same way given in SAPtechnical site .
1.by adding a error msg in exception parameter .
2. if the select query fails, to fetch the agent then :exit_return 9001 'ztable name' space space space.
3.in the Background activity in which this method is called there automatically one outcome appears ,and I hav acitvated that outcome and in that done what need to be done for that error handling - just send a mail to concern person .
4. in the normal outcome of the activity , the step to be executed are there .
but its not working , if exception come then the WF stuck there only . it do not follow the exception outcome .
Kindly help me , How can I do the exception handly in WF.
thanks & Regards
Kakoli> That is usually the case - you catch an error in the underlying program and pass that back so the workflow can go into error.
> You're doing it correctly.
I don't think that's quite right.
If you define an error/exception in a method, it is automatically mapped to an outcome of the step/task.
If you activate that outcome, then you can handle the exception in a branch of the workflow.
For example: 'Remote connection is down, please contact Basis'
The step should only go into error if an outcome occurs that you have NOT activated.
So the original question is valid. Please give some more information on what the error message is..

FRM-40735: ON-ERROR triggers raised unhandled exception ORA-06508
I get the following error message: FRM-40735: ON-ERROR triggers raised unhandled exception ORA-06508
after login in a Web forms application.
I tried the solution as described in the Headstart Manual, e.g. recompiling the libraries in the specified order.
All the libraries are in the working directory and has been included in FORMS60_PATH.
All the involved stored procedures and packages are valid.
the same application works fine as C/S.
Any clue?
Used configuration:
Forms 6i
Designer 6i r 4.11
Headstart 6.5
Oracle 8.1.7.4
Oracle 9ias r 1 running on Sun Solaris 64bit version 5.8This is actually a pretty generic error and I would suggest running through the debugger to see the line of code it is actually failing at - that may make it easier to track.

Error:cannot access com.bea.p13n.exceptions.ApplicationException
hello,
I wrote an Input Processor class(named HelloIP.java) which extends InputProcessorSupport class. My class has process method which throws ProcessingException. When I tried to compile the class, I got error:connot access com.bea.p13n.exceptions.ApplicationException. My classpath includes pipeline.jar and webflow_servlet.jar. Are there any other packages that I need to include into my classpath?
Thanks a lot for your help.
PennyTry adding p13n_system.jar. It contains the exception class you need and should
be in the portal/lib directory.

In your script taks you need to "unwrap" this exception by examining its .InnerException. An easy way is to catch TargetInocationException and re-throw its .InnerException.

Insight on exception raised errors
hi. i have been getting a lot of "exception raised, do you wish to debug?" errors on a game i'm running since i upgraded to lion. the game i'm running is irrelevant because i'm not asking for help on how to solve this issue, i just want some more information about this type of error. i tried googling it, but all i seem to find is posts on various gaming support websites. apparently this issue happens a lot in games and has been appearing since before lion was released (mine just didn't start happening until lion). my question is, is there anything in particular that provokes this type of error? what kind of factors go into this error, and exactly what kind of error is it? i understand that it gives you a choice to debug, yes or no, and i've read that if you hit no, it theoretically should let you keep running the application at least long enough to save your data. in my case, no matter if i press yes or no, the application still crashes. others have been having this issue, and we still don't know what causes it. what i'm trying to do is simply gather as much information about this type of error as i can so i can better understand it. can anyone offer any insight?
Hi Maria,
two things:
first of all compile the version with JDK1.1.8. You most likely have used a command not available in 1.1.8, but your MI runs on Creme and Creme is 1.1.8. Well, you can compile the WAR file with any JDK you like and as long as you have not used any commands from Creme 1.3 or later, that works fine.
Second you should precompile the JSP files for PDA usage, cause PDA can not compile JSP files by its own.
Hope that helps!

Internal server error while raising a claim request.
Dear All,
I am using claims and we have implemented badi for finding the approver and sending the request.
Here after implementing the Badi, i am getting internal server error as this.
While processing the current request, an exception occured which could not be handled by the application or the framework.
If the information contained on this page doesn't help you to find and correct the cause of the problem, please contact your system administrator. To facilitate analysis of the problem, keep a copy of this error page. I noticed it has something to do with security so I need to mention I modified the boot.properties file such that to have the same credentials used upon the domain creation.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards,
Nicolasscanzano,
I was wondering if you ever received and answer to this question, becuase I am faced with the same problem when I attempt a signon to the 'admin server' I receive the following message:
type Status report
message Invalid direct reference to form login page
description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid direct reference to form login page).
This is displayed as an "HTTP Status 400 - Invalid direct reference to form login page!!??" It appears that this message has been around for a while so I'm wondering if this issue will ever get resolved??
