Handle 2 simultaneous  lifecycle requests

Hi all
Ok trying to work out the best way to handle 2 simultaneous requests.
What I have�
2 pages one with information the user sets
the second (opens in new window) has a report dependent on the information in the first page.
So i can use stanard navigation as i cant open in new window have to use javascirpt window.open
Obvious problem the getters on the second page are being called before all the processing of the first page is done.
So I am tyring to work out the best solution at the moment I have some Booleans and doing some thread.sleep() really isn�t a great robust solution so I am trying to work out the best way to do this in jsf.
I am thinking I should use either a phase listener or a view handler but not exactly sure which is the best and what is the best way to do this?

A: Yes. For example, if you are connected to a headset, you can also transfer files to another compatible device at the same time.
Note: Some active connection might limit establishing another connection. E.g. if your phone has an active connection to headset you can not connect your phone simultaneously to car kit.
So it appears to be a problem with car kits only, this is why I have no trouble with headset and GPS receiver. I hope this sheds some light on this matter.

    3 licensing is what stays with the Engine dll and itu2019s applicable to all Crystal bundled products(CR 4 VS2010, CR 4 VS2008, CR 4 VS2005, CR 4 VS2003) and stand alone products(CRXIR2 S6, CR2008 SP3). This cannot be changed/increased until you opt for our server based products, which gives you option for increasing the licenses. You might want to contact CIC (800-677-7271) to get more details on this.
    Until an existing handle on report is released from memory, the other requests cannot be taken up. So, once a report rendering is over you might want to call the ReportDocumentObject.Close(),ReportDocumentObject.Dispose() and force the GC to act. This might release the unused objects from memory and you can reuse them.
    As Don suggested, if you wish, do a search on the forum threads and you will find more details and licensing guides for different products provided earlier.
    As far as my knowledge goes, timeout can also be caused if your app has timeout defined or DB has a timeout setting done. You might want to check that. If you need help on timeout section, I hope you will address it in a new thread. See [rules of engagement.|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/FgQ]

    when our webapp get recompiled the server stop responding

    Java programs are run by a virtual machine which is running in userland. They don't "mess" with the kernel.
    OTOH, each userland program interacts with the kernel through system calls, signals, pageing activity, ...
    My guess is that it's either broken hardware, or a fault in the linux kernel.
    Is the crash reproducible? Does ist always crash with the same error message, at the same "eip" location?
    If the crashes are sporadic and non deterministic, with different error messages each time, then I'd say it's
    a hardware problem. Otherwise, it could be a linux kernel software problem.

  • "Max simultaneous tempalate requests" is shown as "-1", set and restart yields unstable server

    After CHF4 applied to CF901 (standard) and updated to run JRE7 on Windows server 2008, "Max simultaneous tempalate requests" is shown as "-1". 
    We checked the neo-runtime.xml and all of the limits look normal.  We have no idea where does that "-1" come from.
    We try setting it to a sensible value (i.e. 25) and then restart, and the CF server becomes very unstable.  We couldn't even log into CF Administrator.  The other live CF site would go down for a few minutes, and up again for the next few minutes.  CPU activity is close to 0, RAM usage is stable.  CF server logs shows nothing wrong, but http log did not get requests from IIS when it's down.
    What's wrong?

    Once that $cred object is created, the user can discover the password:

    I think you'd be much better off creating a constrained, delegated remote session endpoint on a server somewhere, using the admin credentials as the RunAs account, and then creating some functions in the session to restart servers or services and limit the
    session to just running those functions.  You can add whatever logging you want as part of the functions, and audit using the Powershell event logs on the server.

  • Maximum number of simultaneous Template requests

    I am running a CF-server (standard) on a
    Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU           E5420  @ 2.50GHz, 8 cores
    I have read somewhere on the net that you can set 8-10 maximum number of simultaneous template requests per core, which in my case
    would be 64-80 simultaneous template requests.
    Is that a correct assumption?
    This does feel quite high considering the default value of the server is 10 simultaneous requests.

    It is the common rule of thumb, but that does not make it the correct or incorrect assumption.
    What it does make is a common and usefull starting point, with the strong assumption that one will then load test ones system to make sure the setting accually works well with ones applications and hardware.  And that one will then adjust accordingly based on the testing.

    In ColdFusion 10 Standard the Simultaneous requests should be equals to 10 or more than 10 however in ColdFusion 10 Enterprise there is no such restriction, the value can be of a single numeric digit as well like 5,4,6 or so on.
    You can consider this as a benefit of running ColdFusion 10 enterprise

  • Servlets handle multiple, concurrent requests

    Hi, folks. Could someone give me a basic idea of how Servlets handle multiple, concurrent requests which are sent from user's web browser, or possibly, point me some useful web links, tutorials. Let me take a example to make sure that i have explained the question clearly: let's say there is a website that does air ticket booking service. Suppose there is a spare seat exists for a particular flight. There are two users logon to the website and they are both looking for this particular seat. So, once these user's HTML form requests are sent to server, how do i implement my servlet to handle these requests properly, in another words, make sure this seat is only allowed booked by a single user. thanks in advance.

    If I understand you correctly, then you would have to make the methods of this Connecting Object synchronized so that there was only ever one connection to the database at any one time.
    If a database is transactional, that means it has attempted to deal with the problem of multiple connections and statements being executed at the same time on the same data. If you have one single Connecting Object then you don't have to worry about transactions, but you do need to make sure that there aren't multiple threads running, each trying to use your Connecting Object.
    The synchronized keyword makes sure only one thread can use the synchronized method at any one time.

    Hello,
    I use ViewBean, and two child TiledViews (WML sample).

    I think, "handleAppendRequest()" will work within TiledView1 (I didn't
    try yet, I have this handler in ViewBean).
    But, logically, better place for it is TiledView2 which contains cached
    appended records...
    I can have handler in ViewBean redirecting into TiledView2 of course,
    What is the best way?

    OK, I solved it (for WML),
    If I use "virtual buttons" on JSP page (within <jato:tiledView.../>
    tag), and this buttons are child of MyTiledView class (which is child of
    MyViewBean), I can use
    <postfield name="MyJspPage.MyTiledView.Append[2]" value=""/>
    for emulation of button.
    I don't use MyViewBean.MyTiledView.Append[2]!
    Next step: I have to understand what to do with index in
    MyTiledView.handleAppendRequest... Code seems harder than putting Button
    and Handler in main MyViewBean...

    I am developing a WebService which serves various result according to the request.
    WebService is deployed on Sun Application Server, and working fine as expected.
    My problem is:
    - I am feeling that My WebService is not handling multiple requests simultaneously. I mean to say it is serving it one by one.
    Can anyone tell me any Web Service hosted on Sun Application Server, how many request it can process simultaneously. Where can I configure this settings in Sun Application Server.

    If you mean the number of requests over a single connection, there is no limit. If you mean the number of simultaneous connections, the limit is in the thousands or tens of thousands depending on your operating system.

  • In what circumstances could my app service simultaneously process requests in different processes?

    We recently encountered a scenario in our Cloud Services Web Role web app where simultaneous api calls on the same item occurred, such that IIS automatically allocated them to be handled on separate threads inside the same w3wp process. We needed to handle
    this scenario by rejecting/ignoring whichever call came in second, so we just used a static ConcurrentDictionary object to track which items were currently "locked".
    But I'm concerned that as we scale up eventually Azure will start routing such calls to different w3wp processes or even different machines.  In such a case, a static in-memory object is obviously not going to do the job.  For now all I want to
    do is find out what happens in the scenario where two requests are handled by different processes/machines - so what's the easiest way to trigger an Azure web role into this behaviour?

    I've confirmed via MS support that my assumptions were basically correct - if you have Instances = 1 then all requests for a single web application will be handled by one instance of the relevant w3wp process.
    If Instances > 1 then they might be handled by w3wp processes on separate virtual machines. There's no known scenario where there would be multiple w3wp processes on one machine, so if you need to handle concurrency for a scalable web-app, you have to
    use some central resource that is available to all instances.

    beans deployed on a WAS 5.0.2 instance. With "global security" on WAS disabled,
    all works fine, but with this enabled (but no security constraints on calling
    the bean itself), my local WLS fails when handling a n incoming SAS request from
    WAS (I see this by turning on IIOP-debug in WLS).
    The SAS request contains a usernamescope with value "weblogicDEFAULT", username
    "UNAUTHENTICATED" and password null. This request is partially processed in WLS
    by a class called weblogic.iiop.csi.GSSUPImpl, and this class contains a line
    like this:
    password = new String(abyte3, "UTF8");
    resulting in a NPE when the password is null.
    If I decompile GSSUPImpl, set a password if null AND create a WLS user with name
    "UNAUTHENTICATED" and the password I set, then things work ok. But this is of
    course not a desired situation.
    Anybody know if there is a WLS-configuration setting to prevent this, or if perhaps
    there is a setting in WAS to prevent it from sending the "UNAUTHENTICATED" token
    along with the request?
    I've tried this on both WLS 8.1.2 on w2k and WLS 8.1.2 on HP-UX 11i, and with
    WAS on Solaris and WAS on winXP - all with the same result. JVM 1.4.2_02 from
    Sun, and 1.4.1_05 from HP.
    Both WAS servers are configured to use only CSI (there is also an option of using
    CSI and SAS).

    You may be able to specify something with the iiop-security-descriptor. A
    value of
    none or supported may control the WAS behavior.
    <client-authentication>supported<client-authentication>If none or supported,
    WAS should send no username if the user is unauthenticated.

  • How to Handle Unwanted Contact Requests

    Unfortunately, there is currently no method to sort or filter incoming contact requests.   I think it would be very difficult for Skype to determine if a certain person is a potential scammer or spammer, unless they receive relevant reports from users who receive suspicious contact requests from them.  Below are some suggested steps on how to deal with unwanted, random, unknown, or suspicious contact requests.
    1.       Take note of the username and display name of the user (please see image sample below)
    2.       Open the Contact request then click the Block Button. 
    3.       The Block This Person window will also appear, you can click the Report Abuse box if you feel that that contact is indeed a highly potential scammer or spammer.  Click the Block button to confirm your action.
    4.       You can also report them to [email protected]
    Then Skype will be notified of the suspicious activities of the reported user/s and will most likely prompt them to check and investigate those users.  Their account might be put under suspension, termination, or prevent them from creating new accounts or using Skype services.
    Note:  Setting your account's privacy settings to allow messages and calls from people in your contact list only will only prevent the ability of non-contacts to call you or send you instant messages.  It will not stop unwanted contact requests from random users.

    I think the problem results from the level of visibility Skype users present. For these random requests to come in, there must be some way of trawling for Skype IDs, which would allow would-be scammers and spammers to make the requests. My wife gets many of them and I get virtually none, so they obviously target women.
    If Skype users could manage their level of visibility to prevent random trawling or browsing, but allow targeted searches, that should reduce the incidence of this problem enormously.
    Another way would be to create an option for a "Contact Token" which could be forwarded to people you allow to make contact requests. They would need to supply the correct token (matching your individual "Contact Token") in order for the request to be submitted. ie. in Privacy Settings, add the followng option:
    "Only accept and display contact requests from users supplying the following Contact Token: _____"
    This may seem overly heavy-handed, but it would suit many people who don't want to be bothered by nuisance contact requests, and if they like spam and scam, they don't have to enable the option!

    You do not remove exceptions. You fix the cause of the exception.
    You said, it is caused by the Class#forName() call on the MySQL JDBC driver class? Is it a ClassNotFoundException? If so, then put the MySQL JDBC driver class in the classpath. It is available in the MySQL Connector/J JAR file which you can download from the manfacturer's website.
