Handling 2 Clients
hello everybody,
i have a simple question.
i have an application where a clients sends a string and server accepts it,finds the string length and return it to client.
as far as this is concerned , all is fine.
but i want to send this string length to second client on the same server.
i am using RMI.
server returns the length but it is by default sent to the client invoking that function.i want it to be sent to second client.
can anybody tell me how to go about it.
i know it may be simple but i am new to distributed technology.
thanks in advance,
sachin
Hi,
How do you get the reference of second client?
If it is a very simple application like two clients call two methods on
the same remote object, then you can make the second thread(client) wait until first one sends that string. And as soon as the server computes string length, then notify the waiting the thread and make it return with the length.
But, a better way of doing this thing is through RMI callbacks. Your second client registers with the server (through your own register method) passing its own reference. And whenever the server wants to send the length, then call back the second client with the reference that it stored at time of registration.

How to handle Client Certificate authentication using URLRequest/URLLoader
Hi All,
I developed an AIR Application which communicates with a server. Protocol used for communication is HTTPS, and server has a valid certificate.
So whenever AIR App, communicates with the server, a dialogue box prompts to select the client certificate just as show below.
So here what I am looking at is, Any method is available to prevent this prompt.
I have already tried the method of Enabling "Dont Prompt for client certificate selection when only one certificate exists", Of course this method will work only if multiple certificate exists, so what if multiple certificate exists.
How an air application can handle that?
So any one find any way to handle this. I am using URLRequest for commnicating with server.
Here is the code snippet I have used.
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
request.method = URLRequestMethod.GET;
var urlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
urlLoader.dataFormat = URLLoaderDataFormat.TEXT;
urlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, loaderCompleteHandler)
urlLoader.addEventListener(Event.OPEN, openHandler);
urlLoader.addEventListener(HTTPStatusEvent.HTTP_STATUS, httpStatusHandler);
urlLoader.addEventListener(SecurityErrorEvent.SECURITY_ERROR, securityErrorHandler);
urlLoader.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, ioErrorHandler);//, false, 0, true);
Please help me...
Thanks

Asking about how server can handle client disconnection
Dear sir/madam,
i'm doing my final year project and it is about a java client/server big2 game.But now i have a difficulties in dealing with the server side.
That is about how to take action on the serverside if the client suddenly disconnected.
I have read many java client/server programming scripts.But all of them doesn't mention this problem.The scrpits only assume the client side never disconnect suddenly.
I hope if you can give me some suggestions on this problem.For my mud written in java, I used TCP/IP for the connections. When a client connects, he gets his own thread. Those threads are held in a vector in a manager class. each tick of the server does a quick run thru the vector and if the current thread/socket its on is null or !isAlive() its remove from the vector(which in turn removes it from getting any more game updates. This removal can be caused by two things. The clients disconnects by accident(kills his game, locks up has an internet connection hiccup, etc.) or he uses the games "quit" method. The quit method calls a method that does any player saving of data, etc then closes the socket, and sets it to null. thus the manager sees this and removes him frm the vecotr list on the next server tick. Seems to work great form a mud and worked really well in a multiplayer applet game I had up for a while.

Can an xserve running 10.5.8 handle clients machines running 10.8.3
I have an xserve running 10.5.8. We got three new machines running 10.8.3. None of the programs on the client machines want to open, iphoto, mail, contact etc.
Just an FYI for anyone who might be searching for this solution. I recently discovered that the NSF share fix works also on a 10.6.8 OD server with OS X 10.8 clients using network homes, to resolve write to network application compatibility issues.

How to handle client disconnet in stratus?
Hi,
I am trying to implement a chat application based on Stratus, in case the person I am chatting to disconnects, due to browser refresh or browser close, I am not getting any notification about stream being disconnected. Is there any way I can detect if the stream is valid or not before sending any data.
PS: I tried waiting for a timeout event, but does not seems to work.
- Nitishare you setting an event handler for NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS on your publishing and subscribing NetStreams? you should get event codes like "NetStream.Connect.Closed" when a peer disconnects.

Client Eventing Problem with URL Iview
Hi,
I am new to EP and have a basic client eventing question. We are trying to integrate a URL Iview from a partner product with a standard Iview downloaded from Iviewstudio. This standard Iview is capable of handling client events from other Iviews in the standard package. We want to re-use this Iview with the same event (same functionality) to be able to handle events from the partner URL Iview.
The partner Iview and our portal are on different servers.
We are using the following Javascript but it doesnt seem to raise the event.
EPCM.storeClientData('urn:com.sap.bor:BUS0010','objid',LocId));
EPCM.storeClientData('urn:com.sap.bor:BUS0010','AllKeys','objid');
EPCM.raiseEvent('urn:com.sap.bor:BUS0010','select','','/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/...'
We were able to debug and find that the data was being stored in the Data Bag. However the event is not being raised at all. It seems that it just gets stuck somewhere in the Raise event. We even put a javascript alert after the raise event but it doesnt seem to reach there at all.
Could you give me a few pointers as to what the problem might be.
Thanks in advance.
Message was edited by: Mayank BhatnagarHi,
let's have a look at two quotes of the PDK documentation.
"Using the EPCF from your JavaScript, you can send messages to JavaScript code embedded in other iViews."
"Isolated iViews are iViews that are not inlined into a portal page, but referenced using an IFRAME. To make the EPCF available in such iViews, the EPCF JavaScript as well as the EPCF applet are included into each generated frame."
From my point of view, this only can work automatically with content provided by the portal.
Therefore, this can't work with isolated URL iViews generated with the wizards. Imagine a google iView, running in an iFrame. Google is called by the portal, but it's simply standard google HTML output - displayed in the portal.
To provide the capability of the EPCF, the epcf javascript file has to be included in the "partner URL iView"'s source. I tried this and it worked. However, this is not a highly sophisticated solution
If the partner iView's server is running in a different domain, there are further issues to be considered (keyword: java script origin policy)
If anybody has corrections or can provide a good solution, don't hesitate. -

The problem may be with JCo destinations. If you have authorization in Portal, navigate to Content Administration -> Web Dynpro.
In the left side you can see deployed web dynpro applications. Check in local, sap, or any of your custom namespace. Browse & select to your application. Right side you can see JCo destinations for your application. If they are in green color , means they are created. If not, ask your basis team to create them. If they are n green color, ping and test them. if they are working fine or not.
If they are fine, try to deploy after you have logged into the portal.

Exception handling in ODI - common exception handling framework
Hi,
I need to come up with a common exception handling framework in an environment where ESB and ODI are being used for interfacing and ELT operations. I am of the opinion that
1. I am not able to find any documentation wrt exception handling when ODI is used? Can some one help me with some pointers?
2, When I come up with a common exception handling framework using BPEL, will I be able to invoke the same from ODI.
Thanks,
MaheshThanks for the reply Allan. I haven't used BusinessWorks.
I did go through this thread before and here's my understanding.
1. ESB provides the ability of error handling (client management API) but not the exception handling i.e. I can't redirect the flow in case there is an exception in my primary flow. Am I right with my understanding?
2. Error handling ability of ESB is limited to retryable exceptions viz-a-viz asynchrounous ESB processes (e.g. database listener not up) where in the process can be retried. Am I right here?
Thanks,

How to handle multiple requests to the same servlet at one time?
Hi,
I am new to Servlets. I have doubt regarding ... Handling multiple requests to a servlet at a time.
If we send a single request to a servlet, as know that group of objects such as servlet, servletContext, servletConfig, request, response and etc are created in the server, And if 1000's of requests are sent to a same servlet at a time, and if server memory capacity is less, then 1000's of objects are created in a server which would be heavy burden to Server. How to handle the application and development in such situation?
Kind regards,
veerendraHi veerendra reddy ,
By default any web server can will have a thread pool to handle client req's.
In your point also heavy burden to server you are telling that depends on this.
we can configure this min & max size of this thread pool.
by default it will be 0-1000 for tomcat server.
I am not sure in which file this configuration will be.
But I hope in server.xml or some xml file consists this info.
If You what you can edit accordingly. to overcome your heavy burden to server.
Thanks & Regards

No authorization to get CIM client from parameter provider?
Currently we seem to have no authorization to get a CIM client from the SLD.
We are, sofar, unable to resolve this issue.
We are using a customer specific parameter provider for mapping JCO destinations
as described in the document 'Integrating Web Dynpro and SAP NetWeaver Portal: How to use extended features of the SAP Application Integrator'
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b0446f5c-fcb9-2910-e082-88becbe3ddc9
From this portal service we would like to get the registered systems in the SLD.
Our code for doing so is (exception handling omitted):
Context jndiContext = new InitialContext();
SldApplicationServiceInterface sldApplicationService = (SldApplicationServiceInterface) jndiContext.lookup(SldApplicationServiceInterface.KEY);
CIMOMClient cimomClient = sldApplicationService.getCimClient();
See e.g. the document 'Using SLD to Manage JCo Connections'
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2ce854ed-0701-0010-deb5-ffd61d73fd9f
Since the default SLD Access is protected by code-base security we've added our customer specific parameter provider and the application integrator to the CIM Client generation setting in visual admin.
(see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3c/8bceb066698341b5696334f57802d4/content.htm)
However, we are now stuck on a message

Marcel Akkerman.Hi Gamad,
I am assuming you are using the SAP delivered distribution model with the standard filters.
01) Check the distribution model for the infotype 0006 and sybtype 0001
02) Maintain the address subtype 0001 in the HR record in ECC
03) Check the BP number range and T77s0 table entries.
04) Check the authorizations of the RFC user.
05) Execute PFAL in the insert mode with the evaluation path P-S-O. (for the first time)
I am not sure regarding OSS notes as we have done this SRM 5.0 and ECC 6.0 with out applying any notes few years back. It has to work.
Thankyou,

Receiver SOAP adapter SSL error - client certificate required?
Hi all,
Problem configuring SSL in XI 3.0 NW04 SP17....
I have followed the config steps from Rahul's excellent weblog at <a href="/people/rahul.nawale2/blog/2006/05/31/how-to-use-client-authentication-with-soap-adapter">How to use Client Authentication with SOAP Adapter</a> (my Basis team have done the Visual Admin steps) and am going through his example as it closely matches my requirement. So, I have a test receiver SOAP adapter sending messages to a web service URL defined for a sender SOAP adapter. My test scenario is:
<b>Sender File -> <u><i>Receiver SOAP -> Sender SOAP</i></u> -> IDoc Receiver -> IDocs in R/3</b>
The problem components are in italic and underlined above. My Receiver SOAP Adapter has the web service URL, Certificate Keystore Entry and View entered. If, in the Sender SOAP Adapter, I have an HTTP Security Level of HTTPS Without Client Authentication, the interface works fine (note that Rahul suggests you untick the User Authentication in the Receiver but with this Security Level, it seems to work with or without it).
The problem is when I set HTTPS <b>With</b> Client Authentication in the Sender. I then get the following error in the message monitor:
SOAP: response message contains an error XIServer/UNKNOWN/ModuleUnknownException - com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleException: java.security.AccessControlException: <b>client certificate required caused by: java.security.AccessControlException</b>: client certificate required at com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap.ejb.XISOAPAdapterBean.process(XISOAPAdapterBean.java:1111) at com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleLocalLocalObjectImpl3.process(ModuleLocalLocalObjectImpl3.java:103) at com.sap.aii.af.mp.ejb.ModuleProcessorBean.process(ModuleProcessorBean.java:250) at com.sap.aii.af.mp.processor.ModuleProcessorLocalLocalObjectImpl0.process(ModuleProcessorLocalLocalObjectImpl0.java:103) at com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap.web.MessageServlet.callModuleProcessor(MessageServlet.java:166) at com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap.web.MessageServlet.doPost(MessageServlet.java:421) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java(Compiled Code)) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.HttpHandlerImpl.runServlet(HttpHandlerImpl.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.HttpHandlerImpl.handleRequest(HttpHandlerImpl.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.services.httpserver.server.RequestAnalizer.startServlet(RequestAnalizer.java(Inlined Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.services.httpserver.server.RequestAnalizer.startServlet(RequestAnalizer.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.services.httpserver.server.RequestAnalizer.invokeWebContainer(RequestAnalizer.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.services.httpserver.server.RequestAnalizer.handle(RequestAnalizer.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.services.httpserver.server.Client.handle(Client.java(Inlined Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.services.httpserver.server.Processor.request(Processor.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.core.service630.context.cluster.session.ApplicationSessionMessageListener.process(ApplicationSessionMessageListener.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.core.cluster.impl6.session.MessageRunner.run(MessageRunner.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.core.thread.impl3.ActionObject.run(ActionObject.java(Compiled Code)) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged1(Native Method) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(AccessController.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.core.thread.impl3.SingleThread.execute(SingleThread.java(Compiled Code)) at com.sap.engine.core.thread.impl3.SingleThread.run(SingleThread.java(Compiled Code)) Caused by: java.security.AccessControlException: client certificate required at com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap.ejb.XISOAPAdapterBean.process(XISOAPAdapterBean.java:843) ... 22 more

How to Handle RMA Requests through EDI?
Hi Folks,
I have a quick question.
In general, how do RMA Requests are handled through EDI.
I don't want RMA requests created in SAP (through VA01) send via EDI.
How can i handle this situation.
Please reply in detail.
Awaiting for your answer,
Creasy MattHi veerendra reddy ,
By default any web server can will have a thread pool to handle client req's.
Nagendra
