Hardware problem on iphone 4s
I have brought Iphone 4s at California before 6 months ... I am facing power key is not functioning from last week and I am in Nepal right now. What shall I do?? I have handeled my iphone carefully and I haven't dropped it yet still facing problem means is there any question on durability of it? I dought and I am sure I should have gone for similar range smart phone I wouldn't have faced problem yet. Do you have any authoraised repair home here in Nepal?? if you have please provide me address details.

No, the warranty is not international and so will not be valid in India. You will have to take the iPhone back to Kuwait or send it to someone you know there who could take or send it for service and then ship it back to you. If you cannot do that, you will have to find an unauthorized repair shop in India and pay them to repair your iPhone, something which will void all future support from Apple.

i have bought an iphone 5s few days ago and i noticed that vibration of my iphone is different from other iphones. my iphone's vibration is so loud and noisy it is kind of rattly noise whenever i recieve a call or a text message, So i checked one of my friend's iphone 5s and it vibrates just fine. can anyone tell me why is it so? is it a hardware problem or what?
Do you have the same vibrate settings as your friend?

For the second time (I've been to the Genius Bar already once with this) my Wifi isn't working. They gave me a new iphone last time, but the new one has the same issue as the old one, I'm guessing. I've tried resetting the network but that doesn't work.
I see others have this issue too.
If this is a hardware problem why doesn't Apple fix it? Or do I just have to wait another year for another upgrade?
Currently it's not costing me anything - yet - because I've got the Apple Warranty but this is totally frustating!!! I bought the original phone (which has been replaced in July 2012. The new phone (without working Wifi) is a month old.
Will try Restore via ITunes before (I will invariably) have to return to the Genius Bar for another Iphone 4S unless someone has an ingenius solution here?..?sematson wrote:

For what reason, other than making yourself look foolish, would you ask questions that we users could not possibly answer as we're NOT Apple?
Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW. Nothing more "ingenius" to suggest than these steps that Apple has outlined in the manual. If these steps don't work, then go back to the Apple store. -
My iPhone 5 dies at 20-24% it doesn't go all the way to 0%. Will apple replace my phone or fix my phone for free since its hardware problem and I have no money. This is my second iphone 5 replacement. I have no apple care so I'm worried. My phone has NEVER touched water! I only get 1/5 of battery use. I've also spent 30$ at the apple store on screen protectors for nothing! I really don't have 220$ nor 50$ I am on a strict budget. I believe I have to pay 220 not 50 ford a phone replacement for accidental damage. I don't know what category this falls under. I really need a new phone or battery. HELP! Will I have to pay? Also my screen lighting is all topsy-tervy every I put my screen on highest it won't work I have to wait about a minute? Forgot to mention that my apps exit out by themselves all the time when Im using them.
So, have you tried a reset? Restore from backup? Restore as new? You seem to have a few problems but do not mention any action taken to resolve them. What have screen protectors to do with anything?

Hey everyone. I have an iPhone 4S that needs replacing due to obvious hardware issues (shuts down randomly on its own). I have shown the panic.plist reports that it generates on another forum and they have confirmed the kernel and hardware problem.
Since replacing it is the only way to go for me, I was wondering whether Apple still offers the option to upgrade to the next model when going to replace a phone with warranty. What I mean is, if I go to an Apple Store and ask to replace my handset for a new one (with my warranty/receipt) will I be offered to upgrade to an iPhone 5 for an additional fee? Can I ask for this option?

The warranty is not international and only available in the Country of purchase .If the iPhone is out of warranty Apple or their Agents will also only give service in the country of original purchase.
So if you want Apple help you will have to return it to Singapore or find a 3rd party to repair it if they can in India as long as it is out of warranty and you understand that Apple would never help with that device in future if it has been opened by a 3rd party -

Do you have a case on your iPhone? It could be pressing the buttons on the iPhone and causing it to restart or behave unusually.

iPhone warranty is not international. If you need service, it needs to returned to Apple in the country of purchase. If you have a friend in Singapore, you can send it to them and they can take to Apple for you. Apple does not accept international shipments for service, nor will they return them via international shipping.

Is an USA iPhone covered for hardware problems in Europe?
I was wondering if my hardware problems are covered in Europe.. I bought an iPhone in the USA in november 2012 and now my sleep/wake button is broken. I went to the Apple Store in the Netherlands, Europe, and they told me it isn't able to fix it or for me to get it replaced, because I have an American iPhone. Does anyone know if that's correct, because I seriously doubt it!
It is correct. The iPhone warranty is not international. You will only get it replaced/serviced in the US, since that is where you bought it.

my new ipad works perfectly. the iphone 5, however, cannot connect to the same wifi, can barely get a 3G signal, and the power level is at 53% after being barely used for 1\2 a day. Is this a hardware problem?? My old 3Gs was fine until it died.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

Make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store, it may not be a hardware problem. If it is a hardware problem you will have to wait until you return to Venezuela.

First time, i'm not really fluent in english so sorry for all mistakes that i can made here.
3 iphone 4S Different and 3 different problems :
Fisrt iphone 4S :
I used an iphone 4s who works so fine at start, but day after day i saw some problems.
Applications started to force closed ( i used application and it stopped , back to homescreen ).
This problems arrived more and more ( mails applications met problem, wunderlist applications met problem, some games and many many other apps ) so i decided to call Apple and to ask a change of my iphone.
I suscribed Apple care plans for my iphone.
Apple change my first iphone so fast.
Second iPhone 4S :
I used it for something like 1 weeks , not really more.
In this weeks of use, i met this problems :
When i slide to unlock , sometimes the iphone freezed on the unlock screen.
i could wait all time possible, it stayed freeze on the unlock screen.
The only ways to used it again was to press home's button and power button to make a reboot on the iphone.
I called Apple again , i explained the problems and Apple proposed to change again the iphone.
Third iPhone 4S :
I started to use it on saturday.
Before to start it, i called Apple and asked a step by step process to used it on a good way.
( i was afraid to make somes mistakes ).
I restore as a new iphone.
I asked if i can use an icloud saves.
Apple's agent sayed "yes".
Everything works fine, so nice.....
But on Sunday, i don't know what happened, my 3rd iPhone stopped to detect Wifi.
I was at home, i test with the iphone of my wife and no problems to detect wifi , i test with my iPad and no problems to detect wifi, i test with iphone of one friend was here and no problems to detect wifi.
I maked a reboot of my internet box , but same problem continue.
This morning i call Apple company , they asked me to reset as a new iphone ( i didn't use icloud or restore by the save on my computer just reset as a new iphone ) , i make it and , another time : No wifi on this iphone.
My ipad is near of me and it can detect several wifi around me.
Another time Apple ask me to change the iphone.....
I'm really afraid about that, and i'm really angry with Apple care services.
What can i do to have an iphone who work fine ?
Thats is the limit of the refurbished politics of Apple company ?
Apple don't propose real solutions to resolve my problems, and don't propose real compensation for all problems i met.

4. Notificaion now use any address while position is used, not only address book.
5. Great DND mode with auto swithcing.
6. MUCH more faster Safari work.
7. Great and funny way to reload messages in mailbox.
8. Separate footer for each mailbox -GREAT!
Cons:
1. WiFi - works as it was.
2. Apple map. I think it's good that google went out. Apple will develope own service and it will be better. For the moment I found Apple map less usefull, but it knows the way between Russia and Finland when Google doesn't.
3. No overheat observed... Today I was thinking that iPhone became hot, but it was on sunsine...
4. As it was 100% at evening - 100% at morning so it is now the same. While usage also the same.
5. Yes, I'm also don't know what is this for..
6. So what? I don't care.
