Has anyone ever tried Soylent (US) or Joylent (Europe)

My own opinion on meal replacement shakes is that essentailly, being liquids, your body will process them a lot quicker, than if you were to, for example, eat a chicken breast and some brocolli at lunch.
Therefore, as your body processes the shake faster, yes you are geting all the vitamins etc that you need, but you will feel hungry again very quickly. This could lead you to between meal snacking, or to binge on something less healthy, or carbs to make you feel full again.
If its not to slim down, and you're just worried about not getting enough nutrients, there are supps you can take to compensate. Prepping meals ahead of time is also good though. If I make a shepherds pie at the start of the week, I make enough so that I have a couple of work lunches out of it, only take a few minutes to reheat, and you can add as much veg as you...

Never heard of it mate... but a quick google and it looks like the protien shakes I get from MyProtein.com (except costs more than what I pay)...
By "don't have much time for lunch at work" do you mean you are paid to work through your lunch? As far as i'm concerned, I don't get paid at lunch time, so the hour I'm supposed to take, I take.
Don't go neglecting your health/nutritional needs just because people like to bother you when you sit in the canteen on your break! I usually go home at lunch, so I get time to eat something nice and de-stress.
Also, you shouldn't be using shake type things as a replacement for actual food, just to supplement the missing vitamins/minerals that you don't get from the food that you do eat.
Look after number 1 mate!

  • Has anyone ever tried to create an own application (T681A)

    Hello,
i want to use message determination for an "own" application. So has anyone tried to make an entry - "legal or illegal" - in table T681A?.
As there are reserved namespaces in this table and as it is a new entry, it should not harm anything. But you never know.
So i post this to get an opinion from the community.

Generally you cannot buy a gift card with a gift card and I suspect that applies to going between the Apple Store and the iTunes Store.

  • Has anyone ever tried to manually install and OOTB connector?

I am looking to automate the installation of some OOTB connectors in OIM 11gr2(11.1.2.1) with the OUD and AD connectors.  Near as I can tell, most of the connector installation can be done with Deployment manager. I just need to figure out the right way to copy the jars and resource bundles to the correct location in the DB.  Has anyone done this successfully?   Any help would be appreciated.

    Yes, automation is possible.
OIM provides API to import OOTB xml/properties into OIM.
But its recommended to use OOTB connector installation procedure. The OOTB connector installation procedure stores the connector version which can be helpful during connector upgrade operation.
I will suggest to use OOTB connector installation procedure to maintain connector version history.

  • Has anyone ever tried diplaying a quicktime movie iniweb?

    • Movies: Copy QuickTime movies into this folder and you can use HomePage to display them on your Web pages.
this is what the idisk says. u can put quicktime movies in your iweb site. anybody tried this? if so did it work?

This applies to the older Homepages system. If you put QT movie files into this folder, then log into your .Mac Homepages account and start a movie page, you will be prompted to select a movie from this Movies folder. This is unrelated to iWeb, but it could certainly be used in concert with an iWeb site.

  • Has anyone ever tried ordering the battery from here?

I apologize to everyone for posting again. I just thought maybe this would be helpful? Am canceling my shipment to apple for the battery replacement and ordering it from here instead. The video is good and easy to understand and it didn't look complicated in opening up the iPod. I usually order most of my accessories from this site, so I trust it so far. Hmmm....a huge risk here eh? At least it's better than paying $72.

I've bought quite a few things from Newer Tech - though not an iPod battery. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them. And you are right, the replacement isn't all that hard. Opening the case is a bit fiddly and if your fingers are short and stubby like mine plugging the new battery in can be challenging. (I use a pair of non-conducting forceps.)
Personally, I think you've made the right choice. You have a known working iPod without issues and replacing the battery isn't difficult. I think it is a better solution than getting an iPod of unknown provenance.

  • Has anyone even tried?

OK......Has anyone ever tried playing a pc game on a mac? This means insert the pc disk, click install, and etc. I searched online and found nothing. Wouldn't that be funny if pc games actually DID work on a mac an no one tried it because everyone said the OS's were so different.....but that's likely not true. Just wanted to know what would happen should i decide on a whim to pop in a pc game and start installation. Would an error code pop up or would the mac overreact, show a countdown starting at five, and at zero completely explode on me?

Yes, a lot of people do.

    Hmm, yes.
I searched online and found nothing.
Because you didn't look in the right locations.

Well people do run PC games on a Mac.
Just wanted to know what would happen should i decide on a whim to pop in a pc game and start installation. Would an error code pop up or would the mac overreact, show a countdown starting at five, and at zero completely explode on me?
Depends what software you had installed, but explode? No.
The disk won't install and likely just popup on the desktop with a bunch of files in it for copying off.
Mac's can boot Windows just like a PC. So if you stuck a install disk for a PC game into a Mac with Windows, it would install just like any other PC.
If you stuck a install disk for a PC game into a Mac with virtual machine software running with Windows, it would install just like any other PC.
In fact if you had the right PC game disk and something like Crossover or Wine installed, it could run the PC install disk on a Mac too.
But loading a PC game disk into OS X directly, without any help, of course not, it won't work as the operating systems are different.
As you can see, I'm running a Windows game in Windows 7, in OS X on my Mac and getting over 40 fps too.

  • Has anyone ever succeeded to use the scope_identity() from the LabVIEW DB toolkit ?

    Hi,
Using LabVIEW 2014 DS, and MSSQL 2008R2.
I have configured a table with identity, so the indexed will be incremented automatically.
I am trying to get the ID of the last Insert command that I am using.
I am trying to SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY() but with no success.
I read about trying to so it with a procedure or transaction, but I just could not succeed myself.
Has anyone ever succeeded to use the scope_identity() from the LabVIEW DB toolkit ?
If yes, can you please elaborate more or even share the code ?
    Thanks,
    Amitai.

Yes I have...let me dig out some code...
I do my INSERT query (with a semicolon at the end) and in the same query string do a "SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY() as inserted_id;" - essentially what you're doing here is running two queries in one - one to insert your data and the second to retrieve the ID. From what I remember of when I did this (last year?), I think scope_identity() is valid for the same connection so as you're doing both queries in the same connection it should always be valid.
I then do this to get the ID (pardon the crappy VI snippet):
Essentially I execute the query and the result is a 2D array that contains one row/column which is your last inserted ID.

Ive been having major problems with my ipod
-making a scratching sound when trying to load
-Folder with exclamation point is showing
-cant get to play any music whatsoever.
So I been on here for about 5 hours trying to figure it out
I tried reseting on the computer. that worked until I tried to reload my songs on the ipod.
So I got rid of all ipod updaters on my computer and reinstalled the newest one.
    and now this happened

Has anyone ever seen this before?
    Can anyone help me out?
    thanks
sorry if this is the wrong forum

Well Tyler....I've seen something like your problem before, but i'm afraid i can't be of much help. I saw the problem because it happened to me before, and my iPod needed to be sent into Apple for repair, i believe they need to reconnect the hard drive on it....well hopefully someone here can help you out, because mine was a matter of being sent in.

  • Has anyone ever lost a ringtone that they purchased and downloaded? I have; completely gone. And when I searched and attempted to download it again I got the message "you've already purchased this; do you want to purchase it again?"

Has anyone ever lost a ringtone that they purchased and downloaded a ringtone and then it just completely disappeared? When I tried to download it again I got the message "You've already purchased this item; are you sure you want to buy it again?"

You are aware that there the app may have downloaded and been placed on the second screen.  Not the main one.  Can you swipe to the right to see if it is there?

  • Has anyone ever SUCCESSFULLY gotten iTunes to back up library to disc?

I've tried numerous times over different versions of iTunes, and I can NEVER get iTunes to back up my purchased library to disc.
It offers to do it to DVD, to regular CD--- and nothing works. It spits the tray out, says to put in a blank CD and I do-- and it "checks Media" and never accomplishes anything. I'm starting to doubt the function even works and was put in there to make it look good.
Has anyone ever successfully gotten the "Back Up Library to Disc" function to work?
im running the latest version of iTunes.

GOOD POINT. You cannot backup to an external hd. Who wants to use dvds OR cds for backup anyway? The whole reason for buying an ipod was to avoid these two optical disc nightmares and get with a hard disk management solution. itunes doesn't recognize external hard drives for backup. Ridiculous. Try using an ext hd as the itunes location for your music if you really want to see problems develop. Managing music instead of playing music has become my past time since I got into the ipod/ itunes mess. All I do is try to clean up it's messes. The software developers need to be accountable. Class action? No support, except forum, unless you want to pay.

  • Has anyone ever experienced the situation where plugging in the USB connector to the charging source (high-power USB port or Apple charger) halfway, then pressing it in firmly, results in the iPad not charging?

Has anyone ever experienced the situation where plugging in the USB connector to the charging source (high-power USB port or Apple charger) halfway, then pressing it in firmly, results in the iPad not charging?

It's highly likely that there is a poor connection in the phone - either a pin in the dock connector or internal wiring harness.  No software fixes or "tricks" would work, but I would recommend restoring in iTunes, first using a backup and if needed restore as a new phone.
Otherwise, opening and repairing the phone takes some tech knowledge that can't be relayed here.  Apple doesn't repair phones other than replacing batteries (not inconceivable that you have a bad battery), but offers "out-of-warranty" replacement (refurb) phones for $149 (US).  3rd party iPhone repair centers may be able to fix it for less.  Google to find them,
    Tried soft and hard resets
FYI, there's no such thing as "soft" or "hard" resets in iPhone terminology.  There is only one phone reset. You'll see those terms thrown around by technically ignorant posters, but they mean different things to different people and are actually archaic, 1980s PC terms that have nothing to do with iPhones.
