Has anyone heard of a virus on a network that prevents the uninstallation and installation of iTunes thereby preventing use of any apple product such as iPhone and iPod classic?

Here is the exact wording - I took pictures with iPhone but cannot download them.

Then the loading bar moves backwards.
The weird thing is this happens on my Dell laptop which only last week was wiped and everything rebooted and reinstalled. This PC problem was happening though before the laptop problem.........

Just received a message from my Intego virus software a warning that reads as follows:
"HPExifCopy" was infected by 'OSX.Exploit.MetaData.B'
I have tried to find info on this on every site I could think of but came up with nothing.
if any one knows what this is and how I should react to it (according to Intego software it was repaired!!! but since I can not find anything on it at Intego I am concerned!!)

Lets put things into perspective:
Are macs safer as viri are concerned?
Yes
Will they remain safer till the end of time?
No
Is it as easy as for a mac as it is for a windows box to be infected by a virus?
No, due to the solid unix foundations and security levels that exist within X (free BSD core that is).
Is it easy to author a virus for OS X?
Frustrating as far as I was told by programmers (who do not write viri but legit programs)
Should mac users be complacent?
Definitely not. Better be safe than sorry. If and when macs become more popular, especially in business environments then the platform will attract the attention of all those scum-bags who write viri. Lets be ready for them.
What p**s me off is the theory behind announcements like that from intego, a zip file that when decompressed will execute whatever script in bla bla invisible folder. Excuse me intego, what script exactly is that? Any virus that has been identified as such performs certain tasks: compromises firewalls and security, steals addresses and so on. That particular one just execute the "unknown" to all script and only "us" can stop this from happenning... My arse...
On the other hand maybe OSX.Exploit.MetaData.B is a beautiful example of a proof of concept. The gist? Don't worry that much. There no known viri for x to date but do not become complacent either. Things can change.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device.

ITunes no longer loads after updating to Windows 8.1. I have tried every corrective step I've found on the web (reinstall, copy files, change permissions, etc.) nothing helps. Has anyone heard if Apple is working on fix?

Itunes does not launch after updating to Windows 8.1. I've tried every suggestion I can find on web (reinstall, copy files from other directories, change permissions, etc.). Nothing works. At best I can get the licensing agreement to show and then nothing. Has anyone heard if a fix is in the works?

Likewise, no problems with 2.0. Yes, there are a lot of posts about problems. There are a lot of sick people in hospitals, also. That doesn't mean that the entire population is sick. If more than even a tiny percentage of the 6 million iPhone users had problems with their phones these boards would shut down from overload.
This is not to say there are no real problems, but that it is a small minority that has them. People with no problems don't go to message boards just to say "I have no problems".
I'm not saying the problems aren't real, but rather than wait for Apple to produce a 2.0.1 that might or might not fix the specific problem you are having try to do a little troubleshooting. Even it it's an Apple problem you can probably fix it yourself.

My late 2008 13" MacBook (Snow Leopard) has become so erratic that it is almost impossible to use. (Using another MacBook now).

Any fix other than 3-prong plugs and dusty corners? (Wipe the trackpad many time and the apple power cord is already 3-prong).

Some users have reported issues with battery expansion causing problems with their trackpads. Try removing the battery and testing the MacBook while using just the power cord. If this works, replace the battery.

I have let it load until NFCU asks me if I want to cancel the session, a much to long of a load time. Has anyone else reported having this issue with NFCU or Mozilla Firefox 3.6.18?
I have also posed the question to NFCU, currently awaiting response and will share what was given.

Sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing, StephenjCrane. We definitely want to make sure your work email is working. When you try to access your email, are you receiving an error message? Are you using the default email client, or a third party application? Do you know if other coworkers are also experiencing the same issue?
Just in case, please try a wipe cache partition as this can help stop a number of issues.

01/06/12 I am waiting to have movies in the cloud. Has anyone heard anything??

I have bought a lot of movies from Itunes and lost them when I had to reinstall Windows 7. I did not take the time to make a backup and I am hoping Apple will put movies on the cloud. First of all - if anybody did know - they could not discuss it on this site since I'm pretty sure they would be violating a non disclosure agreement with Apple - if somebody actually knew. Any other knowledge would just be rumored or speculation and that is also prohibited on this site.
Not being able to redownload purchased movies has nothing to do with Apple not wanting to offer the feature. I'm pretty sure that It has to do with the movie studios not wanting to grant the rights to download the movies again at no cost. It really is a decision that must be made/approved by the movie studios.

After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error with Safari. You may want to consider resetting your device, which is different from restarting. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
