  • Hash coming after each character in application server xml file

    Hi All,
I am stuck up in one issue wherein we need to transfer xml files to al11 and then dump these files from application server to a remote location.
Since the SAP system is ECC6.0 I can safely use Simple transformations for conversion to XML format and then for transfer i have done OPEN DATASET IN BINARY MODE. I have checked for text mode in case of xml files is not working.
Now the files coming in al11 have hash after each character. Please note hash is coming after each character and not each record. Though files when downloaded to presentations server or FTPed to remote location are coming fine but in al11 these seems to be weird.
Here is an example of what i am getting in al11.
    ###<#?#x#m#l# #v#e#r#s#i#o#n#=#"#1#.#0#"# #e#n#c#o#d#i#n#g#=#"#u#t#f#-#1#6#"#?#>#
    #<#i#n#t#_#d#a#t#a#>#<#i#t#e#m#>#<#I#C#O#>#1#2#3#4#5#6#7#8#9#4#5#<#/#I#C#O#>#<#D#I#C#/#>#<#N#A#M#E#O#F#F#I#C#I#A#L#>#a#b#c#d#e#f#g#h#0#-#<#/#
Could you please help in this regard to remove these unwanted characters.
Thanks in advance for your inputs.
    ¬
    Shreya

I think this is something special regarding UniCode(CodePage) and the defaultview in AL11.
I made some tests - uploading data with CG3Z or OPEN Dataset.
There are some differences between CG3Z and OPEN Dataset regarding unicode transformation.
but this is still unknown for me, too.

  • Problem while uploading Japanese character to application server

    Hi Experts,
I have a text file which contains Japanese character. when i try uploading the file directly to application server using tcode CG3Z the Japanese characters are getting replaced with some symbols. But when i read the text file using GUI_UPLOAD and then write it back to the application server japanese characters are getting displayed. what could be the issue here? how this can be resolved?
    warm regards,
    abdul hakim

In case of CG3Z, internally there is a call to the FM 'C13Z_FILE_UPLOAD_ASCII' where you'll see this statement:
    * open dataset for writing
OPEN DATASET i_file_appl FOR OUTPUT MESSAGE e_os_message
                   IN TEXT MODE ENCODING NON-UNICODE.
Please note the ENCODING addition is set to NON-UNICODE. But in your custom code you must be using ENCODING DEFAULT which sets the encoding to UTF-8 format because of which the Japanese characters are represented correctly.
    Hope this helps.

  • Process.conf file not found after installing Sun One Portal Server 6.0

This extract is from the Sun One Portal Server development guide for logging error or logs in log file. This says that to generate the log, entry should be done to enable logging in process.conf file. I could not find any such file after installing Sun One Portal Server 6.0.

Reporting Errors to the Robot Log File
When problems occur, robot application functions should return an appropriate response status code (such as REQ_ABORTED), and they should also log an error inthe error log file.
To use the error-logging functionality, you must include the file log.h in thesdk/robot/include/libcs directory. After you have ensured that log.h exists in the correct place, you can use the cslog_error macro to report errors. The prototype is in the following format:
cslog_error(int n, int loglevel, char* errorMessage)
The first parameter is not currently used (may be used in the future) You can pass
    this as any integer.
The second parameter is the log level. When the log level is less than or equal to the log level setting in the file process.conf, the error message is written in the robot.log.

Since removing the log settings from magnus.conf failed to fix the problem, the log settings are probably not the source of the problem.
Did anything else - e.g. ColdFusion configuration changes - occur at about the same time you changed the log settings?

  • Problems found after checking database configuration of server

    Hello all,
Though this problem has been addressed before. .
    I couldn’t get a clear idea.
    I get the error. .
"Wrong Server Collation; J2EE installation requires
SQL Latin 1 General CP850 Bin 2 Collation.
    MS SQL Server Patch is too low; please read the note 62988;
These problems must be fixed before continuing installation."

    &content=http%3A//forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa%3FthreadID%3
    D18855
I installed SQL Server 2000 SP3. And in type radio button,
Choose Custom and then proceeded to choose the collation
designator latin1_General and sort order as Binary as advised
    in the note (service.sap.com).
Now I am trying to install SAPinst for netweaver Installation.
Then the above error is repeated again and again and again and
again. I have been trying it since quite some time going through
service.sap.com/SDN,have gone through various notes and even
installed the hot fix provided at (service.sap.com) still
    I get the following error:
"Wrong Server Collation; J2EE installation requires
SQL Latin 1 General CP850 Bin 2 Collation.
These problems must be fixed before continuing installation."
When i try to connect to. .It says
    The current collation is Latin1_General1_BIN,
    Not SQL_Latin1_General1_Cp850_BIN
    Then install the Unicode hotfix(QFE)
Any inputs in this regard would be appreciated
    Thanks in advance.
    Mohan.

    Hi Mohan,
the note 62988 is not that helpful in your case. You will need to read carefully the note 600027 and download the ZIP-file attached to the note.
After unpacking the ZIP-file just execute INSTCOLL.EXE from a local directory.
In the note is also described how to check that after executing INSTCOLL.EXE the collation has changed to SQL_Latin1_General_CP850_BIN2.
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

  • Pause after every character typed into title text

Typing text into title delays for 3 seconds after each character typed.
The best work around I found was to type the text into textedit and paste once done.
    Any other suggestions?

Is 4 the maximum number of characters that can be entered?
    Then the solution is easy:
    - set the maximum lenght property of the item to '4'
    - set the automatic skip property to 'YES'
    I hope this helps...

  • How to front-end Oracle Application Server 10g with Apache 2.0

    Hello,
I have a seperate apache tier from my oracle app tier and I want to use my compiled apache as a web front-end for oracle apps. I have a completely default configuration at the moment.
The only documentation I have been able to find on Oracle's site is in regard to using mod_oc4j.so with Oracle HTTP server.
Is a compiled build of apache supported with mod_oc4j?
Where can I get the mod_oc4j.so module for apache?
Is there any good documentation I can use for installing it?

You mean to say, you found mod_oc4j.so module on Application Server CD ?
It will surely be there, cos it's an Oracle supplied module.
The Oracle HTTP Server is based on Apache 1.3 web server.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/web.1013/b25211/overview.htm#sthref12
If you already have an Application Server 10g installation then go to:
    $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/libexecTake mod_oc4j.so, mod_rewrite.so modules from here.
LoadModule mod_oc4j in httpd.conf file of Apache:
    LoadModule rewrite_module libexec/mod_rewrite.so
    LoadModule oc4j_module libexec/mod_oc4j.so
Make sure to load mod_rewrite.so before mod_oc4j.
    Restart Apache.

  • Adding another application server.

    Hi Experts,
My company is having 2 system landscape.
DEV & QAS in one and PRD in one server.
in recent years, my company is growing faster.
i.e increasing number of End users and database growth.
and now the task is to add 2 or more application servers.
my doubts about application server are as follows:-
1 *Deploying application server means is tht installation of sap central instance in
new server or installing an Dailog instance ?
2 *How to add new installed application server to the existing land scape ?
3 *how to group up the added application servers in to a group , so that the
user will get connected to sap by tht group of application server?
requesting you to give some inputs on adding new application server and
    solution for database growth ?

    Hi graham,
You mean to say, if i install Dailog instance in new server and connected to lan with same ip class as PRD server. that will appear in SMLG.
so, there is no concept of selecting new server from PRD. i.e by STMS router or RFC .
and after adding the new application server i can create new group in SMLG
(by combining all the application servers, so tht user logons will be distributed.)
    is that right.
if any RFC connection has to maintained from PRD to new application server.
    please let me know that.
    thanking you

  • Application server components

Hi, this is the first time i posted here.
We have a server with 3 application server. Of which the application server's component is scattered around the application servers.
How do i check which components (forms, reports, etc..) is on which application server?
Server version: Oracle HTTP Server Powered by Apache/1.3.19 (Unix)
    Server built: Jan 26 2005 11:06:44 (iAS 1.0.2.2.2 rollup 5)
And also, if the users report that there is slowness on the reports, how do i start to diagnose the problem?
Thanks in advance for any helps.
Appreciate it if any links to be provided too.

    Hi,
if the users report that there is slowness on the reports
Check the metalink ID : 282170.1
This will be helpful for ya..
    Also
Perform the following steps,it should improve the performance of report server to sum extent(first take a backup of
1)Take the back up and then Edit the reports server's .conf file location $ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf
    For example, change
    <engine id="rwEng" class="oracle.reports.engine.EngineImpl" initEngine="1"
    maxEngine="1" minEngine="0" engLife="50" maxIdle="30" callbackTimeOut="60000">
    into
    <engine id="rwEng" class="oracle.reports.engine.EngineImpl"
    initEngine="4" maxEngine="6" minEngine="3" engLife="50" maxIdle="30" callbackTimeOut="90000"
    jvmOptions="-Xms256m -Xmx512m">
This will set an Engine's JVM options as well tune ur report server
How do i check which components (forms, reports, etc..) is on which application server
Go to directory opmn->bin on each n evry application server and then fire the cmd
    opmnctl status.
Now if you want to find out on which application server the end user is requesting
Your client might be accessing the url
    http://<ip-address>:<port>/forms/frmservlet?config=xyz
Then go to directory forms-->server on each n every application server,n check the formsweb.cfg file n find out where is "xyz" block is been created..
Note :xyz is just an example..it will be different in ur case

  • Websphere Application Server an JDBC Driver errors

We're currently testing the BEA JDBC/SQLServer driver on IBMs websphere Application server and have encountered a couple of problems, which are described below. Has anyone encountered these before, and are there solutions to fixing them.
Problem 1. All JDBC queries through the drivers cause the following error message to be displayed on the application server console:-
    #Weblogic -- Applet Access
    ......Illegal System.exit() attempted
    2. We get an intermittent problem where a JDBC query causes the following exception:-
    12-Aug-2002 14:08 | [Servlet.Engine.Transports:8] | ERROR | |
    User Action: displayParams
Error Message: JVMLK003: current thread not owner
Exception Message: JVMLK003: current thread not owner
java.lang.IllegalMonitorStateException: JVMLK003: current thread not owner
    at java.lang.Object.notify(Native Method)
    at
    weblogic.jdbcbase.mssqlserver4.TdsConnection.registerPipeline(TdsConnection.
java(Compiled Code))The only solution to the 2nd problem, that I've found, is to restart the application server.
Are these drivers compatible with IBMs Websphere Application Server v4.0 Advanced?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Andrew

please see my answers inline... I recommend you try the JDBC driver from
    Microsoft.

They are JDBC1.0 compliant drivers and should work with any jdbc app.

  • Sun Java Application Server Book

I have still not been able to find any books written in the last 4 years on Sun Java System Application server. I'm trying to get a reference that's a bit more cohesive than just reading 1500 pages of docs from docs.sun.com.
Has ANYONE found ANY book on the Application Server or even any of the newer Java System products?

Unfortunate that we still only have the classes as an option to get totally read up on the Application server.
I've basically ended up going through all of the manuals in docs.sun.com in order to grok enough of this so that I can really run the server.
I would definitely be buying any books that anyone decides to write on this, as I think it's odd that we can easily get Tomcat, WebSphere, BEA and Oracle books, but can't get one on SJSAS.
