Hash Symbol In URL

Hi guys, simple question. When I deploy and run my app, I
load it up in the web browser using the url;
http://domain.co.uk/myproject/myproject.html
However the flash player seems to add a # symbol at the end
of the url. For example;
http://domain.co.uk/myproject/myproject.html#
of course internet explorer goes mad when it sees this. I
cant seem to figure out why this is there or how to get rid of it.
Its causes a problem because if anyone wants to bookmark the page
they can't because of the hash symbol. Does anyone know of a
workaround or a solution.
Thanks
Jaz

Did you find a solution to this problem? does anyone else know the cause?
When I access a url www.someurl.com/
the flex app starts to initialise .. when it completes I always end up at
www.someurl.com/#  ... I cant figure out why this happens or how to stop it? anyone please help

  • Hash symbol (#) getting encoded in links

    Hi,
    When a link includes the hash symbol it's getting URL encoded as %23. Is there a way around this? It's causing the links to break. The link editor has it has "#".
    Thanks,
    CR

    If you used the Search tool before asking (as we are supposed to do), you will already know that you are describing a well known, already reported for years oddity.
    Exactly like you, we hope that Apple's engineers will kill this oddity but we can't do more.
    _Go to "Provide Pages Feedback" in the "Pages" menu_, describe the problem.
    Then, cross your fingers, and like us, wait _at least_ for iWork'11

  • Spaces preferences carried over into Lion - can't get hash symbol

    In Snow Leopard I used to use ALT + cursors to move around spaces (not CMD - this was because I liked CMD + cursors for 'Home' and 'End').
    Therefore I also used ALT + 1, ALT + 2 etc to jump to spaces. Therefore my ALT + 3 never gave the hash symbol, it jumped to space 3. It wasn't an ideal solution, but I didn't use the hash key much.
    Now, Lion seems to have kept (some) of this preference. ALT+ left/right cursor still moved between desktops (spaces), but ALT + 3 did nothing (no hash, no space movement).
    I'd like to restore ALT + 3 to do the hash but I'm not sure how. I've deleted com.apple.spaces.plist from my library after finding a similar question on here, and rebooted. It has removed the ALT + cursor functionality but not restored ALT + 3 to be the hash key.
    To summarise, ALT + 3 now does nothing, and I'd like it to do what it should do. When I look and the keyboard viewer and press ALT, it shows the hash symbol on the '3' key, but when i press it nothing happens. Keys 1,2 and 4 don't work with ALT either (I previously had 4 spaces in SL, so i'm sure this is the cause).
    Sorry for long explanation!
    Thanks for your thoughts.
    Chris

    Maybe I should have said I'm in the UK. On UK keyboards SHIFT + 3 gives £, it's ALT + 3 for #, which is what I'm trying to get.

  • Why don't I see a Padlock symbol in URL Bar when banking/buying etc. with Firefox? How do I know link is secure?

    Usually, when banking, or buying something on line, there will be
    a Padlock symbol, to ensure your transaction/payment info is secure. This is usually seen in the URL address search bar, but I don't see that with Firefox. Why?

    In Firefox 4 you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions.<br />
    The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server.<br />
    So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL.<br />
    The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the [[Site Identity Button]] on the left end of the location bar.

  • Office 2010 & hash in webdav url

    Hi,
    it seems that when opening a document through webdav has a problem with hash (#) characters in a URL.
    This behaviour was noticed on Office 2010 64 bit (version 14.0.5123.5000) on Windows 7 SP1.
    Suppose a word  file is in a webfolder /folder1/a # b/file.doc. (http://server/folder1/a%20%23%20b/file.doc). I have an explorer view on the folder without trouble. I can also open txt-docs with notepad.
    If I try to open the doc-file, Word 2010 gives an error that it can't open file "http://server/folder1/a".
    I can see also with Fiddler that a HEAD-request is done on http://server/folder1/a%20 and not on http://server/folder1/a%20%23%20b/file.doc.
    The User-agent that performs the GET is " Microsoft Office Existence Discovery".
    Can anyone confirm this behaviour or have a possible solution?

    Hi
    Thank you for using
    Microsoft Office for IT Professionals Forums.
    From your description, it sounds like an issue related to “How to configure Internet Explorer to open Office documents in the appropriate Office program
    instead of in Internet Explorer”.
    To fix this problem automatically, click the following link to download Fix it tool. Click Run in the File Download dialog box, and follow the steps in the Fix
    it wizard.

    Notes
    This wizard may be in English only; however, the automatic fix also works for other language versions of Windows.
    If you are not on the computer that has the problem, save the Fix it solution to a flash drive or a CD and then run it on the computer that has the problem.
    If not working, please try the other methods in following article:

  • Special symbols in URL

    I have a pop-up window for a gallery picture, code like
    below:
    <img src="../photo/abc/def/thumbnails/Daddy O's Pizza
    #1_jpg.gif" border="0"
    onClick="MM_openBrWindow('../photo/abc/def/pages/Daddy O\'s Pizza
    #1_jpg.htm','winname','width=386,height=304')">
    Because of the pound sign (#) in the URL, I can't link the
    page correctly and the thumbnail also in Firefox. If I can't change
    the file name, how do I write the path in html / java
    script?

    Looks like you'll need to change the file name and remove the
    pound sign. You might find the link below helpful. It pertains to
    office and excel, but I guess the rules for url's would be
    universal.
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3BEN-US%3B186921
    I am sure someone bright will have a solution to your problem
    but I'd suggest keep it simple and it'll work everywhere. Sorry,
    can't be more help.

  • BrowserLab chokes on URLs with a hash (#)

    BrowserLab seems to have trouble with URLs that contain a hash (#).
    For example, it loads http://www.stagebloc.com/faq/ just fine, but if I try to load http://www.stagebloc.com/faq/#faq_01 (simple anchor link), it renders part of the page then says "Adobe BrowserLab was not able to load the URL requested."
    If I try to load http://www.stagebloc.com/#/how/ (AJAX navigation that can be linked directly, bookmarked, etc.), it fails completely, stating "This screenshot cannot be loaded because the URL is invalid. Please fix it and try again."

    Hey Mike,
    It looks like BrowserLab is choking on the way your navigation works, with the JavaScript rewriting the window location. Running your site through BL with the JavaScript disabled (but still with the hash in the URL) doesn't look gross, and running various other sites with a hash in the URL work fine.
    I guess JavaScript opens up a whole new can of worms.
    It looks like there is something wrong though, since it thinks http://stagebloc.com/#/how/ is invalid.

  • Is it possible to change the URL of the browser corresponding to changes in the timeline?

    Hello,
    I'm trying to create a whole website in Edge. Is it possible to change the browser URL for different sections of the animation. For example me.com/part1 leads to 2.0 seconds in the animation. And for example when you type me.com/part2 the browser would go to 4th second of the animation. And vice versa, when the animation reaches the 4th second the browser URL would change to me.com/part2. It would be really great if that were possible. Any ideas on how to accomplish it?
    Thanks!

    Hi there, Joel's example seems to be exactly what you're trying to do. All you need to do is replace his functions with your functions.
    There are two main parts to his example: 1) reacting to a URL change directly in the URL bar, 2) reacting to a button click, and setting the URL
    Regarding Item 1: this line (this adds a listener for when the URL hash is changed, and calls the 'sym.animate' function in his example). Note that he is linking the value after the # with the symbol names 'panel1', etc. This line enables the functionality for you to be able to directly change the URL to: testStep95.html#panel2, and the site will change pages.
    $(window).on("hashchange", function(){sym.animate(location.hash.replace("#",""), sym.onStage)});
    Regarding Item 2: he's setting the page title (based on the active panel symbol) and URL hash, in the  'sym.animate' function. He calls the 'sym.animate' function on click of btn1, btn2, btn3:
    document.title = panelIn;
    window.location.hash = panelIn;
    Props to Joel for his slick example!

  • Is it possible to change the URL of displaytag's sortable function?

    Basically, I've got a jsp page with the displaytag code on it such as:
    <display:table name="result">
    <display:column sortable="true" property="title" />
    <display:column sortable="true" property="author" />
    <display:column sortable="true" property="status" />
    <display:column sortable="true" property="location" />
    <display:column property="image" />
    </display:table>
    The way it loads the data is that in a servlet, a line of code creates the arraylist called "result", and passes that through the HTTP header onto the jsp. The jsp gets it and displaytag handles it. However, whenever I click one of the sortable headings, none of the data is found because the jsp currently needs to have the arraylist sent to it from a servlet. Clicking a sort link doesn't go through a servlet, just adds some arguments.
    Is there a way to change the sortable URL to go back through a servlet and then add the sorting code (which is something usually like ?d-49653-s=0&d-49653-o=2&d-49653-p=1)?
    Thanks
    Ed

  • How do I display # symbol in PHP to refer to an anchor on another page?

    How do I display # symbol in PHP to refer to an anchor on
    another page?
    I am updating a record and using a dynamic anchor name for
    the page to forward to like this:
    seeAllEntriesXcodeAsc.php#<?php echo
    $row_getProductsWithSAMEcode['id']; ?>
    But I keep getting an error, I think its because its reading
    the # hash sign as a PHP instruction rather than an anchor hash...
    Is there are way to mark it up so as to use the # as part of the
    URL ?
    I have even tried referring to a dummy field with a hash in
    like this - but that doesn't work either.
    seeAllEntriesXcodeAsc.php<?php echo $_POST['hash'];
    ?><?php echo $row_getProductsWithSAMEcode['id']; ?>
    Thanks!

    Sorry, I will try and explain in a different way...
    I have a page in php where a database has an entry added,
    changed or deleted.
    The page is posted to an in between page to process the
    transaction (which works)...
    You are then taken to a dynamic anchor of the entry on a
    database summary page to the SAME entry to see that the change has
    been done.
    (So the basic problem is that the link to take to the anchor
    needs to have a # hash symbol in the middle to denote the anchor,
    but the URL that is created puts the # at the end of the URL rather
    than directly before the link the php code generates... All I need
    is a way to code a PHP URL that manages a # hash in the middle.)
    So in the middle processing page, I have update an entry
    transaction with the page to redirect to after undertaking the
    transaction as:
    seeAllEntriesXcodeAsc.php#<?php echo
    $row_getProductsWithSAMEcode['id']; ?>
    So the final URL error I get is this:
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected
    T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or
    T_NUM_STRING in
    /secure/c/capitalgarden/admin/DeleteEntryProcessor.php on line 39
    The file is too large to post here so I have saved the file
    as an HTML file so you can read the code at this URL:
    http://www.new.capital-garden.com/DeleteEntryProcessor.html
    Thanks for your help!

  • Failure using {CALL } syntax & passing string params w/ # (hash)

    We are experiencing a problem calling functions using the {CALL } syntax and passing string parameters that contain # (hash) symbols. Apparently, something interprets the # inside the string literal and fails the call.
    We use this syntax with procedure calls from a Java applet to an Oracle 8i database using the 8.1.6.2.0 ODBC Oracle driver. The applet is running under the Java 1.3.1 plug-in and we are using a third party JDBC, type III, driver from JDataConnect to link the applet to the Oracle ODBC driver.
    Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

    What's the result of con.getAutoCommit()?
    You might try con.setAutoCommit(true) to see if that sorts it.

  • The Hash Key doesn't work

    Hi,
    Whenever i press shift+3 key, instead of getting the hash symbol i get the pound symbol(£).. I dunno why... The key is working fine appears to be a software issue.. any suggestions ? using 10.6.4 now.

  • Wireless Keyboard Hash key issue.

    Hi. I have a bit of a problem with my brand new (UK version) wireless keyboard: I can't type the "hash" symbol that ought to come up with alt-3 (option-3). When I pull up the keyboard viewer and hold down alt, the "3" does indeed change to the hash symbol, but when I then hit "3" nothing appears. This is true in any application: Firefox, Safari, Word, Mail, even the Dashboard StickyNotes.
    Can anyone think of a reason that my ability to type the hash might somehow have been switched off? All my software is up to date via Software Update. I'm puzzled and would be grateful for any advice.
    (It's making life on Twitter pretty tedious...)

    The "Use all F1 etc keys as standard function keys" tab isn't selected. It says "when this option is selected, press the Fn key to use the specal features printed on each key". Problem being there is no "Fn" key. So I suppose this option will just turn off the special function on these keys?

  • How to represent # in hyperlink URLs

    I have a series of URLs that I want to use in hyperlinks, that all have a hash character in them. The hash character is necessary to load the page properly.
    However, when I enter the URL "as is", the hash becomes %23 in the address bar, and the page does not display correctly.
    The only method that works so far, is to replace the "#" with "&hash;".  This works, but leaves "&hash;" in the url, unchanged.  It also means I have to massage every URL.
    That's not really a problem for my current purposes, but am wondering of there is a way to end up with just # as the final representation in the address bar of the browser.
    What I've tried so far (in the hyperlink url):
    Fails:
    %23
    char(35)
    OK:
    &#35; (becomes &%2335;)
    &hash;
    Any ideas? :-)

    The hyperlink function is fine. It's just that if there is a hash in the resulting hyperlink, then when I click on it, the browser interprets the hash as "%23" and then the page doesn't load properly.
    Might be just that site, and/or just that browser.
    Here's a sample link:
    http://www.nlm.nih.gov/cgi/mesh/2012/MB_cgi?mode=&term=Body+Regions&field=entry# TreeA01
    Safari is my default browser.
    Obviously, if I copy that link into Safari, there's no problem.
    The problem lies in the interface between Numbers sending the link, and Safari interpreting what was sent.
