Haven't received your e-book settlement? Try this.

For those who have not received the e-mail from E-Book AG Settlement Administrator, that were sent out on March 25-26, here is something to check.
The e-mail I have associated with my iBook (iTunes) account has a "Moderate" spam blocker on it.
My son called and asked if I had received my credit, as he had. He advised he found it in his "Known spam" file. This is even though he doesn't have a spam block activated.
I checked my account and it was not in the spam folder, why it should have been is beyond me. For the heck of it I checked the "Known spam" folder. There it was, received on 26th. Thank goodness I didn't have the account set to automatically delete known spam, or it would have been gone. If I hadn't have checked it would have been purged automatically in 15 days.
There is no logical reason for this e-mail to have been considered as "Known spam", but there it was.
I use earthlink as my provider, my son uses another provider, but in both instances the authorization e-mail was in the "Known spam" folder.
If you haven't received yours yet, go online to your server and check the "Known spam" folder.
Possibly Apple wanted to comply with notifying those affected in the case, but was hoping many wouldn't find the authorization for rebate in time. Something to consider.

If you go back to the Apple Store, you can verify that your order is in their system.

    I tried to buy an iPhone 6 Plus in both Verizon and Apple stores and was told that they didn't have any and did not know when they would receive more.  I tried to order online at both the Apple and Verizon online stores but could not because my current Loyalty plan is not available for online orders.  Next, I called Verizon to place the order with a live rep.  After being sent to two different reps and waiting over an hour I finally got to someone that was able to take my order for exactly the color and storage size that I wanted. I received an email receipt confirming my order and keeping my current loyalty plan with the $200 trade in promotion for my old iPhone 5.  While I have to wait a month to receive my new phone, I am happy that I will receive the phone that want and get the trade in promotion.   • Does iSync not support your mobile phone?  try this.

    Recently I got a Samsung A777 mobile phone. I wasn't able to learn everything about it before buying, but in absence of the information I couldn't get, it was the best choice for me. When I attempted to sync it with my Mac, iSync told me in so many words "This device is not supported by iSync". Well, there's more than one way to skin a cat.

    After some experimenting, I discovered I can export in vCard 3.0 format, skip using the app, export a group of contacts to one file, and send it to the phone. Done. The address book on the phone contains one entry per name, each entry contains all of that person's numbers, and each number bears the correct icon for home, work, mobile, fax. Email addresses copy too.
    This method of syncing is so easy I think nothing of deleting the entire address book from the phone, and uploading the whole contacts group again. Since that's what I've been doing, I don't know if uploading the contacts twice back-to-back would create duplicates. And as far as I know, there's no way to sync back from the phone.
    But I don't care much about that. I'm fine recording a voice memo reminding me to make certain changes to an address book entry on the Mac and sync the whole thing again. Takes just a moment.
    Perhaps in the future Samsung will be more SyncML and OpenSync friendly.

    You can make this process a bit shorter by doing this:
    1) Drag the *Bluetooth File Exchange* application to your Dock.
    2) Set-up a Group in *Address Book* containing the contacts you want on your phone
    Then, whenever you want to re-copy the contacts to your phone, just do this:
    Open *Address Book* and drag the Contact group onto the *Bluetooth File Exchange* icon in your Dock.
    (BTW, for true bi-directional syncing with iSync you might like to contact http://www.novamedia.de as they do iSync Plugins for over 60 existing Samsung phones, and may be able to do one for yours).

    I recently ditched my simple 2-button + scroll wheel mouse for a mouse on steroids: the Logitech G700.  What a difference!  It has 11 customizable functions that can be automatically activated depending on the program you're in!  So you can have a completely unique set of functions for Premiere, Photoshop, AE, Windows, etc, and each set will automatically/instantly be activated whenever that specific program/interface is the active one!
    Here are my 2 layouts to give you some ideas:

    You can even assign multi-step macros to keys.  For example, I set one of the keys to: Deselect clips + Add Default Video Transition.  So now, a single keypress will always apply my default video transition to the CTI, even if any clips were selected, just the way it worked in CS6 and I wanted it to keep working in CC!
    If you're looking for a simple inexpensive way to improve your editing work, I highly recommend getting a programmable mouse like this one!  If anyone has any other hardware devices that help their workflow, please share so that we can all benefit from the knowledge.

    I am in the market for a new PC for my wife, and she will be inheriting the keyboard and mouse I am using now so I can get new ones. She picked these out to begin with since we were sharing a computer for a while so she will be happy with them.

  • "No child left behind" - try this

    Go to your address book and try this: Type in the name Jim or Tim as a child for an address book entry. Then try to print that address book entry as in trying to print an address book label. Both our iBook G4 and Power Book both refuse to print Jim or Tim. All other child names will print for us. "JI" will print, "Ti" will print, "Jimm" will print, "Timm" will print, "Kim" will print but "Jim" and "Tim" will not. Can you get child entries "Jim" or "Tim" to print? If not, what's going on here?

    Here's the deal, copied form a post in another thread:
    If you have a spouse or child listed on contact card it will print them all on the mailing label IF the first name of each person is unique to your entire address book. For example, if the contact is John Brown and the spouse is listed as Susan Brown and the child is listed as Chester Brown, the expectation is that the label would print as:
    John, Susan and Chester Brown
    This assumes that there are no other contacts in your address book with the first name of Susan or Chester. However, if, for example, you have another person in your contact list named Susan (the last name could be anything), Address Book will print:
    John and Chester Brown
    This is because Address Book looks at all the first names in your contact list and if it sees a first name that is also listed in one of the spouse or child fields then it looks to see if the the other contact shares the same address as the contact you are trying to print. If the address is the same, then it prints properly on the label. If not, then it doesn't print on the label. So if you have two Susans - Susan Anderson and Susan Brown - Address book looks at the address on each card and determines that Susan Brown has the same address as the contact you are trying to print (John Brown) and therefore prints her name on the label.
    So, to make a long story short, if you want consistent and predictable results when printing your labels you should assign a unique card to each person that you want to appear on the label and make sure that the individual cards have the same address listed on each. So, in the above example, there would be a card for John Brown, a card for Susan Brown, and a card for Chester Brown. On John Brown's card, Susan Brown would be listed as spouse and Chester Brown would be listed as child. Print John Brown's card and you should get:
    John, Susan and Chester Brown
    Although this makes logical sense, it's not incredibly intuitive and not very well documented by Apple. I was hoping they would enhance Address Book in Leopard since this seems like a feature that a lot of people would use around this time of year. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time around.

    Hello - I preordered Assassin's Creed Unity for PS4 and received my order yesterday, but I haven't received any emails containing my preorder bonus content code.  Also, if I try to check the order status, it says In Process and if I try to go to order details I get a blank white screen.  All of my other orders work fine.

    I wouldn't worry just yet -- it can take 24-48 hours for pre-order bonus content to be fulfilled depending on where you placed your order, in-store or on BestBuy.com. For online orders, customers can expect to receive their bonus DLC via e-mail within 24-48 hours of pickup or shipment. For in-store purchases, the code should appear on the final sales receipt at the time of pickup.
    If you still haven't received your Over Under Pistol redemption code within that timeframe, then you'll want to send a message to our Gaming-BBY inbox with the following information:
    Message Subject: Game Title & Platform
    Message Body: Include...
    • Proof of purchase (Customer Service PIN from in-store receipt or BestBuy.com order #)
    • Email address (the one you provided for the code)

  • Haven't received points for watchdogs preorder

    I preordered watch dogs for ps4 (Order Number: {Removed per Forum Guidelines}) online for in-store pickup, and picked it up on release day (Tuesday). As of yet the transaction still has not posted to my "my best buy" account... It doesn't even show as pending, just not there. I see there is a place to enter missing purchases but because I preordered it and should receive 500 bonus points, I'm hesitant to enter it there. Any idea why it hasn't posted yet?

    it can take up to 20 days from the date an eligible title is picked up or shipped for pre-order bonus certificates to post, so I wouldn't worry just yet.     delete your mail account and add again your own then try. if it doesnt work reset the phone and start as an new phone

    I have ordered two books a few months ago without any problems.

    This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked (check the permissions on the about:permissions page).
    Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    You get an alert about resending POST data if you go back to a page or refresh a page that was previously requested from the server by submitting form data via a (hidden) POST form.<br />
    Firefox can only make sure to get the same page by resending that POST form.<br />
    Firefox doesn't know what that form data means, so Firefox asks for confirmation before resending that form data as such an action can cause you to repeat an action and buy another item or post a message another time.<br />
    A way to prevent this pop-up about resending POST data is not to use the Back button, but to open links on a page requested from a server by sending a form with POST date in a new tab (window) with a middle-click or a Ctrl + left-click.
