Having issues running steam

i did a fresh install of arch a few days ago and steam stopped working on the 2nd. i don't know why.
what i tried so far:
purge all and reinstall steam
and
xset +fp /usr/share/fonts/100dpi/
in vain.

sry for the hun locale, i'll set it to english if you guys need it. it mostly says "interrupted" and "unsuccesful" at places.

It seems indeed to be the locale. I have set en_DK.UTF-8 and what worked for me was running steam with a different locale, namely en_US.UTF-8.

Is anyone having issues running Rosetta Stone under Lion OS?

Is anyone having issues running Rosetta Stone under Lion OS? My wife updated her iMac a month ago and now can't run Rosetta Stone.

I was lucky. My new iMac, bought about 3 to 4 weeks ago, came with SnowLeopard. I found that SL could run Power PC software. The first time that I tried to do that an on-screen message asked me whether I wanted to download Rosetta (Yes). Since then my old PPC software has run. Eg., Cinema 4D (which would have cost GBP over 1,000, Toast 7 (GBP80) and others.
Of course, for those whose machines came with Lion installed, you could buy SL and install it (as I did) on an external bootable HD (partitioned according to GUI).
Unfortunately, for those buying a future new computer (that is, say, next year), I think that SL will not run on it (according to Apple's policy of not allowing a machine to run on an outdated OS first offered before the date of manufacture of the later machine - I think I have got that right.)

Z77a-gd65-having issues running 2 gtx 560 sc in sli--any help out there???

I just built this unit last night and I have a issue that is beyond me....Normally I just throw them together and throw to cards in download all the drivers and turn on sli.......
But with this one the driver keeps crashing and I have no idea what it is--everything is brand new....

It only does this in sli......Right now I have only one card in and i took the other card out...so far no issues......I just can not figure it out..
I tried a new sli brindge and that did not work....Than I switched power supply to 850 from a 750 and that did not work....each 6 pin has it own power rail..nothing brindged on the cable.....Is there a setting In bios I am missing............
Help me out guys....I am at a loss..I really want to run 2 cards.....will be testing the single card for a few more hours and that I will swap it out with the other.....But am I missing something.....Voltage on each card is kind of weird I guess..1.00 volts to .850........

I think you mis-understood (as i wasn't clear)
Set the voltage to 1.65 & 1.1 and install all 4 sticks and re-test.
I wasn't saying the cpu was broken or anything like that. What I was getting at was that the Integrated Memory Controller on dual channel machines sometime have a bit of trouble with all of the band width when hooked up to quad channel. Can also be cause by the memory itself as Froggy was saying:

If this is the case, you can reset the dramv and I/o voltage to "Auto".
Perhaps even enable the XMP profile of the ram.

Having issues running Symantec GHOST Ver 8 through trunks.

I am running Symantec GHOST Ver 8 on my server. I have no problem GHOSTing multiple machines when the machines are on the same physical switch as the GHOST server. However I can only GHOST one machine at a time when the multicast traffic has to transverse my trunks to remote machines. Has anyone seen this issue or does anyone have any ideas or tips on how to configure the switches...

Issues I have seen with Ghost include errors (mostly do to speed/duplex mismatch) and improper switch configuration.
1. Check with the NIC card vendor to ensure you have forced the card to the proper speed/duplex(often requires using a DOS based utility).
2. Depending on your switch type make sure that you have IGMP snooping or CGMP configured. Ensure that mulitcast routing is also enabled on your router.

Having issues running a VI in 8.5 that runs in 7.1.1

I am getting an error when trying to run a VI in 8.5. I get the error:
"Registry entries not found. The program may not run properly. Please reinstall Snp DLL."
I can open and run the VI with 7.1.1 and have no errors. When I open the VI in 8.5, I get the broken arrow and get:
"Call Library Function Node: contains unwired or bad terminal"
Has anyone seen a similar problem? I have no idea what Snp DLL is, but it is not on this computer and is not the dll I'm accessing with this program.

I have a brand new iMac 27". The specs are:
CPU - 3.4 GHz i7
RAM - 16 GB
HDD - 2 TB 7200-rpm
GPU - 6970M 2GB GDDR5
I have bootcamped over to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, but when I run the battlefield 3 beta, even at all lowest settings at 1920x1080, I can't get above 25-30 fps.
I am new to Windows Gaming, so are there settings I need to look at? I have AMD's 11.8 drivers, so I don't know what else to do.
Or, am I just stuck with not being able to max it out, all because of the GPU? Did I really bottleneck myself that badly?

"the GPU is fine" yea, I guess so, but it's not what I want. I spent $3000 on my iMac, and if it can't play BF3 on ultra settings, then I'm not happy with it.

Having issues running the creative cloud installer.

I have downloaded the installer for the creative cloud. When I try to open the program the following message appears:
I am running Windows 8.1 and I have already tried to download it, used the adobe creative cloud clean up tool, and cannot find anything that is running. I have also tried to find any other file that I could uninstall and could not find anything in my Programs list.
Any help would be appreciated.

restart your computer and before doing anything else check task manager for adobe programs running and shut them down. then install.

After upgrading to Yosemite I am no longer able to run a ping sweep using the terminal command:

It returns:

I am having issues with parts of my Facebook news page not showing and games not running.

For the last three days, I have been having issues running Facebook on Firefox. First, the side panels on the news page are not showing, which means I cannot connect to games like Farmville or Bejeweled Blitz. Those side panels were showing the previous two days, but when trying to connect, I had a message about the secure setting and I would get the message "you are no longer logged onto FB, connect to FB to play".

Having Issues with iTunes 10.5.3 and uninstalled. Cannot reinstall without upgrading to newest Snow Leopard? Using MacBook Pro running 10.5.8.

Running OS X Leopard 10.5.8 and was having issues with my version of iTunes 10.5.3 (freezing and getting rainbow spinny wheel, not allowing me to do anything, while importing music from a different folder into the iTunes). Anyway, so I uninstalled iTunes and went to download the newest version (10.7 i believe) and after downloading and attempting to install, i was alerted that I cannot install and run this application without having the newest version of OS X 10.6 i believe. So, what I'm ultimately trying to figure out is if I need to spend $130(that i do not have) on Amazon to get the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 then pay another $20 in the App Store to upgrade to Mountain Lion as well? I need to have iTunes on this laptop due to having an iPhone 4 that needs to be able to be synced on this computer. Bottom Line is, I don't have really have $150 to upgrade all this at the current moment just to get iTunes back on my system. Any suggestions or am I basically having to drop the $150 just to get iTunes back so I can sync my iPhone 4 again? Ugh, this *****, really wish i hadn't uninstalled that version of iTunes..HELP!!! thanks in advance..

Restore of Ipod back up is present...but is not getting restored due to some iTunes issue with playing my music files.It says restoring and extracts but failes in 1 min with the said error.

What is going on with the Iphone4 home button. I see lots of people having issues, but not resolution. I am running 4.2, but based on what I have read, 4.3 does not help. Apple has to do something about this, as it is affecting lots of people.

No they do not and no it is not affecting a large portion of the user community.
If it is an actual hardware issue, the only fix is to repair or replace the hardware.
If it is a software issue, restoring as new will fix it.
