Having some Captivate issues...

I have having a couple issues that were not fixed with the
1.01 update.
1) After I publish a movie, Captivate will sometimes close,
without saving anything at all. The movie is fully published,
however the software basically crashes after it has been published.
(This doesn't happen everytime, but maybe once out of ever 10
movies)
2) When the software is started, the loading screen does not
always display, I sometimes have to minimize all windows, and then
click on the loading screen in order for Captivate to have its own
tab on the taskbar. The loading image will appear when I minimize
all windows, and when I click on the loading image, it will then
create the Macromedia Captivate tab that appears on the taskbar.
3) Captivate cannot handle multiple movies open at the same
time. I noticed that when I publish with more than one Captivate
movie open, the software crashes. By crash, I mean the program
closes the entire movie without saving any changes at all.
I'm running a fully updated XP w/ SP2. I've disabled all
startup processes that are not needed, as well as tried with Norton
turned off- it still didn't work.

- Your assumption is correct. That's a shame that the
developers left out a notice that didn't allow you to open multiple
instances. Hopefully we'll either get a notice when we try it in
the future, or get support for multiple movies open at the same
time, in future Captivate releases.
I've done about 3 before Captivate starts to act funny. It
has enough trouble with 2. I think I got up to 8 before Captivate
crashed.
I'm really looking forward to the new version of Captivate,
is there an area to address feature requests/suggestions/bug fixes
for the next release?

I am having some serious issues with firefox, i can't print anything because it is stuck on fax and I can't use any of the drop down menus on any site

I am having some serious issues with firefox to the point of choosing another search engine. I can't print anything because it is stuck on fax and won't let me change it to my printer when i do try to select my printer it jumps right back to fax. The drop down menus do not work on any of the sites I go to. For example when purchasing clothes and you have to choose a size from a drop down menu I can't do it when I click on the drop down menu it doesn't work at all. I don't have a virus I ran my virus protector and no viruses are present. I don't have any suspicious issues going on with my computer so there has to be something in Firefox that is causing my issues. I tried internet explorer and I don't have any issues there. I hope you can help me because I love Firefox and would really like to continue to use it.

Lots of issues there, main one getting fcpx going again, try deleting the preferences using the utility deveoped by these guys.

Having Some Mail issues on Apple Mail 5.2

Hi All - Having some mail issues lately with my gmail account Imap set up.
I can receive mail but when trying to send mail it pops up with the follwoing:
"Can not send message using the server smtp.gmail.com"
I tried deleting the gmail account on my iMac and setting it up again. in the set up It gives me two choices as an outgoing server:
smtp.gmail.com and just Gmail. If I choose Gmail I can send the messages, but is this secure? I've always used smtp.gmail.com for outgoing without any problems.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for responding BGreg - Yes everything looks OK under the advanced tab (see below) I never had any
"Red Dots" in connection doctor on the old smtp.gmail.com but it wouldn't work. The new outgoing server - labeled merely Gmail works and appears to be the same as smtp.gmail.com, but I've never seen this in the past - it's always been called smtp.gmail.com I wonder if Google changed the name?

I'm having some Audio Issues involving my headphone jack (air and pro)?

Ok, so, this is pretty weird.
I have had two macbooks thus far (a 2011 macbook pro and a mid 2013 macbook air)
I replaced my pro in 2013 due to a separate issue.
Anyway, I have been consistently having an issue where any type of headphones I put into my computer eventually begin to lose sound in the left earphone - but still work fine on other devices.
I.e, I'll get a new set of headphones, use them for a week, and a week later, no sound will come from the left port - but only when using my air. It is most definitely not the headphones.
It's not the output balance - when I set the balance all the way to the left, no sound comes out, and the problem continually reoccurs with every new set of headphones I get - on TWO different computers.
The same issue happened on my pro, and happens in my air.
Am I like, inserting the headphone jack in "too roughly" or something? What's going on?

some headphone jacks arent the exact right length and the contacts miss
1. diff headphones and same
2. diff. audio , from Itunes, online etc, and still same

Having some weird issues with logic 8

i am almost Positive! that i pushed some buttons or selected something to mess it up, i would be indebted to anyone who can help me with like three issues i'm having
I run my M-audio mobile pre into logic and am having these issues:
#1. track 1 and two seem to be tied together even though i select mono tracks... so i need to leave track two blank otherwise it interferes with whatever is on track one. and on the bar where i drag the loop i was using it has two O's that make like a vinn diagram symbol.
#2. the volume controll (the bottom left fader one) can increase the Db but not decrease...
#3 through my headphones the signal only comes out the right side. i am inputting my guitar/vox into the right input on the mobile pre, but i thought if the tracks were mono, it wouldn't matter.
please please please help, i need to get recording soon!

i figured out the volume issue, with the weird stereo track, i needed to adjust it on both tracks (even though one was empty haha duh)

Hi! So I am using a MacBook Pro with Retina Display, and I am having some trouble issues with sharing documents on Google.

I am part of a 2 person group, who's entering a documentary for the NHD competiton. If you don't know what that is here's a link: http://www.nhd.org. Anyway, that doesn't really matter. What does matter, is that my partner and I, we're using Final Cut Pro X to make the documentary. I downloaded the Final Cut Pro X trial on my MacBook Pro so I could work on our documentary at home. My partner Cecilia, wanted to work on it as well, but using Windows Media Player or something like that. My family uses a lot more Apple than windows. So I come home, work a little on our documentary, go under file ---> share ------> masterfile---> settings-----> Video Codec -----> H.264. A couple seconds/ miniutes (it didn't take very long) later, I see our documentary as a Quick Time file pop up under my documents. I then log into gmail. i click compose, type in my partners e-mail, and then click the little paper clip to attach my new quick time file. Considering that it's 11 minutes long and is filled with media and audio, It's no suprise when I see that it exceeds the limit of ...gigabytes i think. So i send it to her using google drive. However, a couple minutes later, my partner says that she can see the file, but can't seem to download it. I double-check and make sure that I, as the owner, allowed her to edit the file. Then I check to see if i accidently clicked: "Prevent viewer from downloading" which I hadn't. Then i, myself, click on the file and click download and it works fine for me, but apparently doesn't work at all for her windows computer. This means that there's somethig wrong with her computer, or I did something wrong while sharing the file. Any ideas as to why the whole downloading process worked on my Apple Laptop and not her Windows Computer?

I've encountered this error myself upon occasion. If I remember correctly, it was a permissions/ownership issue with the some of the files I was copying.

Having some major issues with track numbers in the newest iTunes

I just recently went out and bought some new albums today for my birthday which was over the weekend and I ripped them to my computer, but when I go to put them into iTunes their track numbers are wrong. So as normal I went to change them, but found that when I click in the track number box I cannot input any numbers what so ever. I went and checked to see if the file was a read only file and it wasn't and I don't have any restrictions on this laptop so I'm not sure of what to do. Before I updated to 10.6.1 I was able to change anything and everything in the get info tab now I can only change the track name, album name, and artist. Any ideas?

If you can click in the track number box, but get no numbers to appear, then I'd suspect you've got shift lock or num lock in the wrong position. If the box is greyed out, or you can enter new details but they are not saved, then I'd be looking for a permissions issue.

Having some serious issues with my iPhone and need some advice

I'm going to these two issues which have been occuring with me for the past weeks-
1.) I am facing a problem with my iPhone 5's lightning port or the cable. This started happening all of a sudden; one second my phone is charging, and the other it is not. Even if it is slightly moved from its position, it would stop charging, and further shaking starts it again, so on and so forth. At first I thought the issue might be with my cable, so I asked my friend to bring his lightning cable to my house so we could test that. It happened again- one shake the phone will charge, another shake stops it. (Note that any kind of movement does this, not only shaking) I'm a bit skeptical about his (my friend's) cable too, though- it shows NOT CHARGING on his iPad while it is in fact actually charging. His cable is only 3-4 weeks old though, so this confuses me even more. I think the issue might be with my port, but as of now I cannot draw a valid conclusion to my problem.
2.) The second problem is that I've noticed my battery drains a **** lot faster now- ever since the first issue started. I manage to get my phone charging by placing it very carefully on the table and it charges overnight. However, when I pick it up in the morning, and read some news, it drains from 100% to 99% in ~60 seconds. This never happened before. Before this, it used to be at 100% for at least 10-15 minutes (might be even more). If I reboot my phone, it shows 100% again, but it still drains a lot faster now. I know because I've been using this phone for the past 4 months now, and I know when it drains and when it does nots
Please, help! I need some advice as to how I should approach this problem. My phone is in the warranty period, however, I would like to have an expert's opinion first.

First: I've experienced the same problem with my iPhone 5. I've bought a new charger and it still did the same thing. I went to the Apple Store to get my iPhone checked out and they said that the pins inside my iPhone we're damaged, and I had to get a replacement.

I've recently had a decision on whether i want to import the explicit version or just a normal version, and of course I've chosen the wrong one by accident and i cannot find a way to get the option back from importing the music from my CD.. Kitz reports that my IP profile should be at 1 mbps (http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/IPprofile.htm) but I was syncing at about 600 kbps earlier today before I accidently reset my router (pulled a wire I didn't mean to pull. ) After the reset my sync jumped to the current 1184 so it's probably still readjusting, noise started at 9 dB but rose to about 20, before rising to 24 later tonight. I'm pretty sure my house doesn't have any internal wiring issues, but I suppose it's better safe than sorry. Regarding why my noise margin is currently so high, I don't know for sure but when I was first having issues I'm pretty sure I remember my IP profile being stuck at 135 kbps while I was syncing at about 1 mbps, I don't know if this could have contributed. My IP profile seems to be behaving fine now, though.

Been having some stability issues particularly with software...

(as opposed to the OS), but i notice that numerous applications crash on their own. I'm thinkging i may need to dump my plist files for all of my apps...but wanted to see if there was anything else i should try first...since resetting all thos preferences will be somewhat of an inconvenience....and very time consuming...
any help?

um ok...well yeah it's numerous applications...and sometimes the specific app will freeze for a moment before crashing with the whole "close, reopen, and whatever" pane opens up....others, no freezing at all, just the pane pops up. I AM typically using the programs that are crashing, though not necessarily doing anything heavy or complicated, just a normal function of whatever app...
More recently I've had a couple of stranger issues like with Mail, when the pane is minimized or hidden, and I click on the alias i have on my dock, a new Finder window would open up for a while...that happened everytime i clicked it a couple of days ago....I tried force quitting (regular quit wouldn't work) several times, and at some point after several repeated tries, it went back to normal....
With Safari, though I DID have an inordinate number of Tabs open, more than would fit on the width of the pane, when I would click on one tab to make it active, the tab that was two tabs over to the left would be the one to activate instead...so that was weird ...
but mostly it's the full on cashing of apps where i get the option to close or report or reopen (i believe those are the 3 things)
i have 2gb ram..the max for my desktop. My HD is 120 GB, and I have been loading it up quite abit, running out of space more than a few times, though there doesn't seem to be an specific correlation to the timing of the crashing apps as they don't seem to happen when i get the disk space low warning....so i dunno if that could be part of it?

My 2012 MacBook Pro (11 inch display) is having some display issues

The display is cut off about an inch on each side of the screen and is just black. Nothing is cut off, everything just got smaller, even when i make safari full screen, ir doesn't go all the way, just as far as the rest of the display goes... I'm wondering if i did something accidentally, some kind of key combination but i am really frustrated... Any ideas on how to fix this or what i may have done?

Go into "System Preferences", then click "Displays", and change your resolution to 1680 x 1050. All you have to do is click it, and it should change to that screen resolution. Hope this helps.

I'm having some real issues with my 20 gb Clickwheel...

It's been frozen entirely for the past 3 days or so...clickwheel has absolutely no function at all. The only way to turn it on is A) switch the hold switch on then off, or B) plug in some headphones. Still, the buttons do not work, and i've tried it all. I've been on hold with Apple for well over an hour now...And i'm just about ready to throw the iPod out the ruddy window. I tried to restore it as well, but to no avail.

My iphone 4s is having some audio issues.

I just recently bought the RadioLab mobile app and the first few times I used it it worked great. Then, one time I plugged in my head phones and started a downloaded story. It played just fine, but as soon as the backlight dimmed the audio stopped. When I unlock the phone it comes right back on and the story starts where it left off.
It does the same thing when no head phones are connected also.
Is there some kind of setting that tells the RadioLab app to shut up when the phone locks? Audio in itunes and Pandora Radio on the phone does not cut off when the phone locks. any help would be great.

Your only option is to return to Qatar or send the phone to someone that's living there and have them bring the phone in for service.

We need to know what version of Photoshop and operating system you are using?
At least with recent versions, Photoshop uses the GPU to assist with Liquify
Photoshop CS6 GPU FAQ
So you might find updating your video card driver (always from the card maker's website) fixes your problem. Otherwise, trying different settings in Preferences > Performance tab, like changing PGU Advanced settings from Advanced to basic does the job.
See if that makes a difference, and come back if still stuck.
