Having trouble launching report in VB 2010

Hello,
I am developing a VB 2010 program using the Crystal Decision Report Viewer control.  I define my objects and set the appropriate declarations and when I run my code I get an "Write-only" error.  My code is as follows:

boReport = New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
Dim CrxReport As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
        Dim strReportName As String
        Dim reportDesc As String
strReportName = Application.StartupPath & "\geninv.rpt"
        reportDesc = "General Items Report"
        CrxReport.Load(strReportName, CrystalDecisions.Shared.OpenReportMethod.OpenReportByDefault)
Cursor.Current = Cursors.WaitCursor
        CrxReport.Refresh()
        AxCrystalActiveXReportViewer1.ReportSource = CrxReport
        AxCrystalActiveXReportViewer1.Refresh()
       AxCrystalActiveXReportViewer1.Text = reportDesc
        AxCrystalActiveXReportViewer1.Show()
       AxCrystalActiveXReportViewer1.Zoom(100)
        'Screen.MousePointer = vbDefault
        Cursor.Current = Cursors.Default
When I run the code I get the message "This value is write-only." on the ,ReportSource line.  I have checked the properties for the report and which read/write and have tried different things and the report wil not show.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to whats going on or hw to fix this issue.  Any help would be much appreciated,

What is this AxCrystalActiveXReportViewer1?
Is this just the name you gave to the CR viewer for .NET (by default it is CrystalReportViewer1)?
E.g.; how did you add this viewer?
