Additional Columns in ECM - Compensation Planning view
I have similar requirement for ECM implementation that for a specific comp plan I want to display two columns otherwise not. I know that it can be achieved via OADP.
I can see standard data views (following and more)
MSS_ECM_APR_BON     Approval: Bonus
MSS_ECM_PLA_BON     Planning: Bonus
MSS_ECM_REV_BON     Planning: Bonus (Review)
And I believe If I change the all views for MSS_ECM_*_BON; it will affect all the views related to bonus plans. I was able to add 2 columns there too.
Now question is -- Is it possible to give drop-down values to one of these columns ? e.g. my column is Status and I want to allow only 5 statuses, can I bring the drop-down in the portal without any WDJ application change ? I'd like to achieve it via config if possible.
At the column definition/config level in SPRO, I can see following:
Convers. Rout.
FM for Column Contents
FM from Column Framework
Service Key
Can I use any of these to achieve such drop-down?
Please let me know if you have any clue.

hi,
as far as I know this can not be achieved through oadp configuration, as the previous user mentioned these columns are only for display / informational purposes.
If you needed to add a column to capture extra input in a custom column, I am pretty sure you will have to copy the sap standard webdynpro for planning and then in your z copy do the development for the extra column with a drop down.

Error When Downloading Config via TFTP

I have 2 different 4400 series controllers running vastly different version of code (7.0.98.0 & 4.1.185.0) that both give me this error when attempting to download the config via TFTP: "TFTP Code File type not supported!"
I have successfully downloaded the configs off 9 other controllers without issue.
Any ideas?

Arcticmonkey7520 I would recommend downloading a fresh copy of the installation files from Download CS6 products.

MSS ECM - how to retrieve custom OADP column in Webdynpro java application

Great day to all,
We have created custom OADP column for MSS ECM planning in SPRO.
In Portal, ECM Plan Table, the column is visible. User enters values into that and toggles the tabstrip.
Before submitting, i need to capture that value in Webdynpro java.
My Question is,
How can i make use of that column in my ECM Application using webdynpro java??
or how can i retrieve the custom OADP columns in webdynpro java with out using RFC??

In OADP ,there are two types of columns , functional column which cannot be edited in web dynpro java application and another type is application column which can be edited in application and the value of this column is handled in application using rfc enabled function module. MSS ECM comes with certain application column whose values are handled in MSS-ECM application . If you are trying to add custom application column you will have to handle that column value in your Z function module and also at OADP level you should not configure supply function for that column.
In order to call custom Z function module to handle custom application column I would suggest to create a seperate Software component and development component and in that handle the logic for calling Z Function module. Also you will have to define the usage of custom Development component in the MES-ECM standard component.

HCM = FI: Posting an IDOC via Workflow

I hope I'm right here in this part of the forum. In addition I hope my explanations will be good enough to understand.
Every month the HCM-System send IDOCs (payment of salary) to the FI-System. Everything works well (in partner profile (WE20) we used message types ACC_EMPLOYEE_EXP, ACC_EMPLOYEE_PAY, ACC_EMPLOYEE_REC, PDTCO_POSTPRIMARY und PLANDATATRANSFERCO_POSTKEYFIGU (all inbound parameters) and process code BAPI is attached). Every payment is automatically and fully posted in FI.
Latter the FI accounting clerks do not want. They do want to decide when the IDOCs are posted into the FI. What we've done so far ist that we've changed the process code BAPI at the above mentioned message types into ED00. ED00 uses the standard task TS30200088 for generating a workitem in the BWP of a or some users. That's exactly what we want, no instant posting but self-decided action through the clerk. The only problem is that the standard task only displays the IDOC as seen in BD87. The process then can be terminated via the menu and the status of the IDOC changes to 53, but no FI posting has been processed what's not very amazing 'cause the standard task only displays the IDOC. Now my questions:
1. Is there any process code which comes with an appropriate SAP-Standard-Workflow to fulfil the request of the FI users (keeping the IDOC in Workflow status until the user executes the workitem which leads to posting of the IDOC)?
2. If not, do I have to create a new process code and do I have to create an own Workflow?
3. If all that would not help what else can I do?

U have to use the lookup.
1) pass the customer no to R3 system as input to function module.
2) IN function module check whether that customer no present or not?
3) Based on that u send a result back to Xi and go ahead.

SQL Developer - Adding a column comment via SQL

When I add a comment in SQL*Plus via SQL, such as COMMENT ON COLUMN "MY_OWNER"."MY_TABLE"."MY_COLUMN" IS 'column comment' it works fine. When I try the same thing in SQL Developer I receive a message "No SQL statement entered".
I realize this can be done in SQL Developer via action buttons in the user interface; but I need to be able to do it via SQL since my procedure generates this code for hundreds of columns at one time.
Is there a SQL way to do this in SQL Developer? Alternatively, can SQL Developer call SQL*Plus to run commands?

This is a current bug when executing as statement (F9).
Good news is it does work when running as script (F5).

MSS ECM new column in Organization unit Tree structure

Hi All
Requirement is to add aditional column in in Selection Screen of ECM, when user selects dropdown value "Employee Selection by Organization Unit".
Currently i get only Tree Structure of org unit. Need to add Custom (or columns if provided by SAP ) in Org unit level.

Employee search this is possible but not in Team calendar
In MSS 1.0 under employee information we have three pages:General
Information, Compensation Information and Personnel Development .
All these pages have different employee search iview.
Basically employee search iview(properties) is responsible for display
of Organization Hierarchy as table or tree.
In employee search iview we have iview property "Organizational struct-
ure with list display in navigation area" Sap.xss.tmv.navlistorgviews.
This property enables you to define the navigation objects for an
organizational structure view are to be displayed in a
table as opposed to a tree hierarchy. In the standard system, navigation
objects are displayed in a tree structure.
You can enter the following organizational structure views:
- Organizational structure views with a navigation area that belong to
the organizational structure view group you defined with the property
sap.xss.tmv.orgviewgroup. (Group of Organizational structure views)
- Organizational structure view you define with the property sap.xss.tmv
.orgview(Individual organizational structure view) provided it has
navigation area.
For e.g.,
Let say, you would like to display maintain position requirements,
navigation objects as table.
Let say in backend you had defined following Organization structure
views:
MSS_TMV_EE_ORG1#Employees from Organizational Units
MSS_TMV_EE_ORG2#Employees from Organizational Structure
From Content administration ->Portal content ->#. Choose
Employee Search iview (for compensation information).
Now in the iview property "Organizational structure views with list
display in navigation area" maintain MSS_TMV_EE_ORG1,MSS_TMV_EE_ORG2
Now for all cases you will get navigation objects as table display.

ECM Implementation: Custom Infotype instead of IT1005 Planned Compensation

Hello,
We are thinking about implementing SAP ECM (incl. MSS). I have seen that OM Infotype 1005 (Planned Compensation) is required to get salary ranges for example.
In our current OM solution we already have this information stored in a custom Infotype. Does anyone have experience using custom infotypes instead of standard ones in the ECM solution?

Not sure how you are set-up if not using Pay Scale Grades and Levels. Do you use T710 or T510 at all? What values are in IT0008 for these fields?
In any other change in status other than Activation, the report only changes IT0759-Compensation Program. So Pay Scale Grade and Level should not be a factor. If activating the Compensation Program infotype (IT0759), the report is trying to create a new IT0008, so your settings for Features such as TARIF and LGMST and any custom BAdIs should be checked to make sure the IT0008 can be created as required by your customization. Even so, we use transaction PECM_CHANGE_STATUS (Report RHECM_CHANGE_PROC_STATUS) to activate bonus payments which are not linked to IT0008 but to IT0015 and so they are not tied to a Pay Scale Group or Level.
Thus, I would need more info to determine why you are experiencing the error message.

How to implement column header sort

Hi all,
Does anyone know how to configure Oracle 9i AS Portal Release 2 column header sort.
In Portal, Oracle has setup the IDE to sort your columns using arrow keys in the
column headers. I would like to do the same thing without using the Custom Form.

I would suggest using the built in Collections framework for sorting.
have class A implement the Comparable interface then implement the compareTo method as follows:

If you didn't create class A, and therefore can't add a method to it, then implement a Comparator. The idea is the same, just look at the java.util.Comparator API and use java.util.Collection.sort(java.util.List, java.util.Comparator) method to sort;

FlexConfig - How to execute "TFTP" command to save running config via Flex

I want to save the running config from all our firewall via flexconfig.
The problem is the carriage return after the command "copy running tftp://ip-address"
I have to confirm the tftp server and the file manually
I have no idea - how to do this via flexconfig -
I found a flexconfig script to load a image to the asa called : ASA_copy_image
Any Idea how to modify this script ?

How can I implement This? - Via Multiple Threads

I m getting a list of 4000 emails in an ArrayList. Now I want to put 300 addresses in a mail at a time, and Want to create a new Thread and Send a Mail.
I want to run 20 threads at a time to do so, Means Each thread is taking 300 addresses from array assigning it to Message and send it. After Sending it should return to ThreadPool.
Also the 300 addresses should be removed from arraylist.
Here are code snippet, i m using..
MailBean.java - A bean which have all the MailProperty and Send Method.
MailSender.java - It implements Runnable Interface, In its constructor A MailBean Object is Created and in run method it is sending the Mail.
FileReader.java - It extends ArrayList, it takes a fileName, parse the Emails add email.
Main.java - Here i want to send mails using ExecutorService class of java.util.concurrent.

The problem is the sound buffer. You may stop the method which dispatch the notes to be played... but not clear your sound card buffer....
anyway: you should implement it in daemon threads. This way you can control the thread suspend, stop, restart, etc.
use Thread.sleep(milliseconds);

Error -3016 when trying to compare a column value via "decode" function

The following statement:
select * from turbine_user
where login_name = decode(1, 2, 'name1', 'name2')
yields a "-3016 Invalid numeric constants" error.
OTOH, the following variations work as expected:
(a)
select * from turbine_user
where login_name = 'name1'
(b)
select * from turbine_user
where login_name = 'name2'
(c)
select * from turbine_user
where 'name1' = decode(1, 2, 'name1', 'name2')

select decode(1, 2, 'name1', 'name2') from turbine_user
Does MaxDB have problems with using the decode function to compare something to column values?

Ok, that will mean, that the first parameter of decode will be compared to parameter number 2, 4, 6, 8, 10,... up to number n-1.
If the result of the comparison is true with parameter number x, the result of decode will be the value of parameter x+1.
If no comparison results in 'equal', then NULL will be returned if there is an odd number of parameters respectively the value of the last parameter if there is an even number of parameters of the decode function.
In your context, this means, that 1 is compared to 2 (always false), thus returning 'name2' always. Therefore I do not understand what you want to do with that decode.
Ok, if we assume that the select sent is only a short form of what you really want to do, then I have to apologize, but there is a bug in the kernel coding. It will be fixed ASAP.
To be able to work until then, put the function DIGITS around your 1 and around the 2 (or the corresponding real parameter values) and it should do.
BTW: with column on the left hand side, the error occurs and with a string literal it does not? This is different to my check where both values on the left side cause this error to occur.

HP3600 Laserjet - Config via Hostname not working

I have been down this road (all day), but you did point out something I did not realize. I am using the hostname to configure the printer, and I get through the process. When I print, I get "Error - Printing" which we all no is a totaly useless message. This is actualy the goal. I do not care about pinging hostname, but think that if I can not ping, I can not print by hostname. I have had printing working on IP since day one. I am trying to make all the local IP addresses go away, and maintain everything on the router. I have, since the first post, got the XP machine working by hostname for printing. I am pretty sure it's PC related at this point. I have flushed the dns and tcpip, along with some other checks of the registry keys with no joy. Tomorrow I will try installing a printer on my other vista. I just use it for a media server and avoid anything that I do not need.

I am trying to configure my PCs to use the HP3600 Laserjet’s hostname instead of the MAC address. I want to replace the router and change the IP range and would like this to be as seamless as possible when I do it. The printer gets a static IP assigned by my DD-WRT router based upon it’s MAC and has the same host name on the router as the printer. I also have configured the routers “LAN Domain” and get a value in the “Connection-specific DNS Suffix” on the PC and in the HP “Networking => TCP/IP Domain Name” value that match. (mylan.lan). I can ping as follows using the hostname.Vista to XP – YesVista to Printer – NoXP to Vista - NoXP to Printer – Yes Ping request could not find host NPI70EC01. NAT firewall in Time Capsule and config via AirPort Utility

I just checked the firewall on my Time Capsule via http://www.grc.com/ and it failed on the "All Service Ports" test with "Stealth" on the following ports:
135/epmap : DCE end point resolution
139/netbios-ssn : NetBIOS Session Service
445/microsoft-ds : Microsoft Directory Service
593/http-rpc-epmap : HTTP RPC Ep Map
I'm sure this isn't a major security violation but having looked at AirPort Utility v 5.3.2 (Under; Advanced --> Port Mapping/IPv6) I can't see any useful options to increase the security of the firewall by blocking the above ports.
Having looked at the help page for AirPort Utility: "Customizing the IPv6 firewall" I'm confused because it refers to a "IPv6 Firewall" tab under the advanced settings in AirPort Utility that does not appear on my screen (i.e. 'Allow Teredo tunnels' etc).
Has anyone managed to setup Time Capsule so that it passes the above 'Shields Up' test? I'd be interested if they could post some instructions here.

Hi, I don't think you read my post properly. I'm not asking for 'stealthing' support. I'm complaining about the fact that the Time Capsule fails security tests when the ports I list are probed.
It's possible that I did ... and if so, I apologize. I assumed that when you stated "... it failed on the "All Service Ports" test with "Stealth"", you were referring to the desired outcome to have the Time Capsule respond with a status of "Stealth" for all ports tested.
Note that all the other ports that I've not listed passed the test (Time Capsule did not respond to probes) and I just want to configure the same behavior for these failing ports.
Again, if you want the Time Capsule to respond to the GRC tests with "Stealth" this may not be achievable. The AirPorts do not have an option to close individual ports or control their status when responding to tests like these that I'm aware of ... at least not natively through the AirPort Utility.
You may find the following blog an interesting read: Just how important is it to be stealthy on the 'Net?. I offer it only as an alternate opinion to GRC's stance on the topic.

ECM : Effective Date change via the portal - ECC 4.0

We did configure V_T71ADM10 , so the Effective Date cannot be changed , it look like each time we scroll down in the portal, or we complete the Amount or Percentage in the Plan for one persone , the ECM page is refreshed , and an new "Effective on" date is calculated and decremented by 1 Day . ... DATE - 1 day , DATE - 1 day , ......
Anyone run into the same problem ?

Adjusting Column Widths Via the CSS in 6.5+

It is pretty easy to adjust column widths in the CSS on 6.5+
One issue that we encountered that was slightly trickier (for non-css folks like me) was ensuring that the columns were set at 100% for the 2 column layouts.
The below code will set the narrow columns on 2/3 column layouts to be 200px wide, and ensure that the wide column maintains 100%

I don't understand? I launch PSE 9 from the task bar. This is the screen I get.
I've tried right clicking everything I can think of w/o success.
Once I click "organize", it's too late. The organizer is coming up.
Maybe I don't know for sure what the "Organizer icon" is or where it is? Or, maybe I shouldn't start it from the task bar?
