I have footage shot on a Sony Z1U HDV camera. Looks great on my flat panel when played through the timeline, but when I export a small clip I can really see the horizontal lines. It's as if I can actually see the interlacing as it's happening. I tried exporting a self-contained quicktime file full quality and it happened as well as tried exporting it as a smaller mpeg-4 and it happened again. What gives?

When you're viewing your footage in FCP at less than 100% zoom you only see the lower field. Try previewing at 100% and both fields magically appear.
The Quicktime player will always show you the fields, even at less than 100% zoom, with less than ideal results.
If you're exporting a clip for viewing on a computer you probably want to remove the interlacing. Interlacing will really only look good on a TV. You can do this with Compressor by using "Progressive" in the Output Fields pulldown in the Frame Control tab.

With the above settings, I can see the test page at http://<server_ip>:port/pdk/calsample.
I am able to register the provider on the Portal server as well.
While adding the portlet to the portal page, the Calendar Portlet is listed there.
But, when I press the preview button next to it, It shows "Error: The listener returned the following Message: 500 Internal Server Error".
Please give me a clue where I am going wrong.

Well, over the past few days while desparately trying to make my portlets work, I have tried several things. I started initially with a downloaded version of pdk that contains samples of v1. My first message above reflects the setup I used with v1. While trying to figure-out the problem for error 500, I tried v2 but the same problem persisted.
However, the clue by Mr. Peter Moskovits to check the application.log has helped me to finally resolve the problem.
Here is my new WORKING setup:

With the above setup, I am able to access the test page successfully at:

You should be able to see two different tabs when setting up the email if you go to Other > Add Mail Account. Once you enter in the email address and password, you should be at the next screen to provide more details about the email as far as incoming and outgoing servers and at the top there will be a blue section to add it in as a POP or IMAP email account. The supported targets for Time Machine backups are local (direct-connected) disks, and network targets include Time Capsule, a disk hanging off the current-generation AirPort (though not earlier AirPort devices), and OS X Server systems.
The Time Machine storage is based on the HFS+ file system, so I would not expect TM to work with SMB file services.
While there are hacks to allow Time Machine to access network drives, I would not consider those to be reliable. Skim the forum and the 'net for related details, and for previous discussions of setting this up and the related issues that can arise.
Remember to test the recovery with whatever you decide to use; whole point of backups is the ability to restore the data, after all.

Regarding your first question about bookmarks, I think you discovered the answer in when you pressed the address bar. The second tab there has your bookmarks.
As for the keyboard, I'm not sure why your Firefox is reacting so slowly; mine seems to show keyboards even when I don't want them. If you have accumulated a lot of history, perhaps that's an issue?
Did you use any third party software to move your Firefox data from internal memory to the storage card?

When I turn on itunes on my Mac Notebook 2004 (IOS X 10.4.11) I can see the album as a purchase but it is not listed in my library music nor can I add it to my Itouch 2nd generation. Do you know why? I can access the songs on my iphone but nowhere else.

They will only be on your computer's iTunes if you put them there. If you are in a country where you can re-download music then they should show under the Purchased Link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes. If they don't show there then you can connect your phone to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over.

If the ringtones were purchased from the iTunes Store, you can transfer them to iTunes using the steps in this article:

You and your partner might have different browsers, different versions of the same browser, or most likely a fervent version of the PDF plug-in.
See if just clicking on the Enter key sends the form in.

You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before.

I can see the pics but when I click on the event itself a HUGE exclamation mark pops up and not my pic.

The two problems are related.
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
And that's why you can't export as well.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
