Headphone switches on an off

Question

I am trying to use a Plantronics H series headphone (wired, not Bluetooth) with my torch 9850. Plantronics says they are compatable.
It keeps switching between the Headphone and the speaker phone, about every second.
I have the recommended 3,5 mm connector which appears to be a bit long for the headphone jack, but it goes in..
Any ideas? is there some sort if setting I must make on the Blackberry?
I need to use a headset because the speaker sound on the BB is terrible and people on the other end of the call complain about "Noise" when I use the speaker feature.
BB support is non existant.
Do I need to dump the BB and switch to another brand of phone to get a headset to work?

Can't you just have an assign action on the slide enter of the first slide that sets
cpLockTOC = 1
And then an assign Action on the last slide that sets:
cpLockTOC = 0
You could build an advanced action conditional statement and a custom user variable (myVar). Change the custom variable value to 1 on the next to last slide. Run that advanced action on the last slide and every time you visit the first slide to check if the course has been completed. If it has, your myVar == 1, then yoru TOC will be enabled, if not then it will not.
The idea is to perfom a check like this:
if (myVar ==1){
cpLockTOC = 0; //which sets the toc to enabled
}else{
cpLockTOC = 1; //which sets the toc to disabled
That is not exactly what it would look like with advanced actions but the point is when you enter or the slide before your final slide change the user variable (myVar) to 1 so that you can check it on slide 1 if they go back there and you can leave your TOC disabled if they have been through the course before.
