Hello! I have an iMac that I lose the audio output for certain profiles. The audio output will work on one profile, but when switching to another profile, I lose the audio output. I've reset the NVRAM/PRAM and that hasn't solved the problem. Help!

I have an iMac (running iOS 10.6.8, not upgraded to Lion) that I'm having audio issues with. I have 5 profiles on this machine. The audio output will work fine out of one profile, then when switched to another, the profile will not have any audio output at all. Rebooting the machine will occasionally solve the problem. Administrator permissions are not the issue since this has also manifested itself on the administrator profile. I've also reset the NVRAM/PRAM and that hasn't helped. All my software is up to date and I recently upgraded the RAM to 2x2GB sticks. This problem was existing prior to the RAM upgrade.

Long shot, but...
Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

Hello, I have a imac G5 17" and it will not boot up...... There isn't any chime when you turn it on and the led light will come and fade out a little but will stay on and the screen will stay black. Does any one have any suggestions on what's wrong and how to fix it?
<Re-Titled By Host>The bottom of that article says to contact an authorized service technician. You may also find that simply replacing the PRAM battery (the coin shaped battery) helps. Note: if you have any capacitors that are labelled X on their top (as opposed to just K), you may have the problem of the leaking capacitors which required a power supply and/or logicboard replacement. The leaking capacitor was an industry wide problem.

Having horrible service with 4GLTE I have had 3G for several weeks (I am not the only person I know having this problem), I have reset my network settings and it did not resolve the issue. I am also unable to send SMS and text messages without them either failing or not sending at all. Is there an outage in the Cleveland, Ohio area (zip codes 44129, 44134, 44137) or anything else I can do to resolve this issue?
Not that I'm a Verizon employee, but I have experience in the field. An LTE tower will only extend up to, on a perfect day, with no elevation, 6-7 miles. On a typical day, you will be lucky at four (4) miles. The three ZIP codes you've given are all within about a 12 mile radius. That would mean that 2-3 towers are currently down at the same time, and Verizon would know about it within the hour. Being it's Cleveland, I'm sure they would receive numerous calls regarding an outage of that size.
My point is that if you're having issues in all three ZIP codes, chances are it's a phone issue. If you're handset is simply not receiving LTE, but still receiving 3G, that would signify a SIM card issue. You need to get your SIM card replaced. -

If they are iTunes purchased music then go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and turn off Show All.

That is precisely the WRONG thing to do. You should never delete, but uninstall.
Now you need to look for, download and run the Adobe CS Cleaner tool. -
Failure to reset Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
I wish to re-set my Mac's PRAM and NVRAM. But when I hold down Command-Option-P-R, it doesn't allow my computer to start up.
It turns on the grey screen, makes the start up noise, but then drops back out again, and it keeps on doing this in a loop.
How do I resolve this?
Can you not rest your PRAM / NVRAM if you operate on split platforms os x / win.?

We are starting from the beginning like its a new ipod starts out asking language, country,location services,choose a network,and when we get to "setup ipod touch " there are 3 options 1..setup as new ipod, 2.restore from ipod backup 3 restore from itunes backup and when we hit setup as new ipod and click next it comes up with sign in with apple id or create a free apple id we clicked create a free apple id....then comes up with bday,1st name last name, use your current email address, get a free icloud email address or change email address and THIS is where we have problems....if we hit change email address it means that sis's stuff goes under his name and moves all her stuff to this older ipod which the brother does not want. sorry this is so long but its the only way I knew to do it.
