Help a newbie: drawing shapes (but seeing it drawn in 'real' time)

Hi guys,
I'm a complete Java newbie, but I'm learning it for my senior project in physics that deals with strong field laser physics modeling. My question actually doesn't pertain to any of that though.
I have a little applet that just draws a snowman, but my friend (who's a really good girl friend of mine) would like to see the shapes being drawn, like appearing from nothing, then being created as the applet runs. Does that make sense? I have no idea how to make something 'trace' or create or cirlce a rectangle slowly. Any help would be appreciative. Thank you.

Make it run slower, by putting about a jillion other threads continuously factoring random odd integers ;)
Or re-write the line/circle drawing routines and put a pause between various steps.
Another possible option is taking off the buffer, but this may still be too fast with a lot of flickering.
Or just tell her you've got better things to worry about than lines drawing themselves slowly...

We can say every project is a challenging one .... But one of the case i can explain is .........
We are getting monthly data from source , but we need maintain that data in ODS according to Weeks.
Example:
CompanyCode| Month | Key Figure
1000 | 200703| 100
I have split the monthly records in to Weekly record when loading the data in to BW. This is done by selecting Return Table option in the update rules of a Key figure and a writing a start routine..........
Example:
ODS/Cube Data
CompanyCode | CalMonth | Week | KeyFigure
1000 | 200703 | 200709 |25
1000 | 200703 | 200710 |25
1000 | 200703 | 200711 |25
1000 | 200703 | 200712 |25

Some other challanges you can explain about are
Query Performance issues when go live and you can explain about maintaining aggregates, data load issues such as failing of delta in a process chain .........and how you resolved those issues.
One example is you can say Users want to see some special characters in the report and I used RSKC transaction to allow those special characters.........
Mostly this question is a general question and I hope you can get more real time scenarios from sdn.......

Just a small question about the monitoring that Oracle provides.
I know that dba_tab_modifications provides information about

I've found the pretty pictures in EM on the performance screens are real good for displaying hammers. It can be a real eye-opener as the big 'uns are not always what you expect, and not always the bottleneck you expect. The downside is the reaction may not be what you desire either (ie, throw more hardware at it!).

Program object schedule success but is not executed in real time

I have uploaded this batch file in enterprise. When I schedule it the status is shown as Success however the file qaawsWsdl.zip is not copied to the destination.
Note: When executing the batch file real time the file is getting copied
I have added the user in Replace a process level token policy
I have set program object rights to run script/binaries
SIA is running on domain account that has access to source as well as destination folders.
Am I missing something?

The program object will run with the credentials of the user you provided in the schedule panel unless you did not provide any and you have set a default user account in the CMC under Application->CmC->Program object settings. THis user has to have access on the source and target directories.
What you can do is try to login manually on the BOBJ server using the credentials of the windows user that runs the program object and try to run the script from the command line.
The domain account under which the SIA is running is not really relevant

How to see the bitrate of a video in real time

Some time ago I posted a question on this forum, asking if it's possible to do that (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=325516). As the topic is archived, I can not write the answer I found today: VLC, at least version 0.8.5, can do exactly what I need: on Window > Information > Statistics, it's a reading named Stream bitrate that reads like once per second the bitrate.
It works not only for DVDs, but for any video, of course.
Brilliant! And it's free!!

That does not work on model year older then 2010 and really doesn't work on any older then late 2011 models.
You will need a set of original system dvd disc thjat are always sypplied with every mac sold before Lion came out. Systems older then late release early 2011 models.
If you don't have them you kcan order a replacement set from apple by calling them. Have the serial number of you mac handy.

The work path is a vector object, and infinitely scalable, but when you stroke it, Photoshop lays pixels on a layer that follow the path. These pixels are raster based and can not be scaled without loosing quality. You do have options. If you want to make the raster layer bigger, transform the work path and stroke it again. Or work at a higher resolution in the first place.
Incidentally, you can't stroke a Path with the Pen, because it is a Vector based tool, and stroking is a raster based function.

The way to show stuff like that isn't dependent on how the data is stored where though.
I probably wouldn't draw them, as such.
I'd probably just make each a usercontrol which bound the fill brush of a rectangle for the black white bit and used a border for the outline.

You can then have some logic somewhere which tells that viewmodel to show black or white fill. Which would be that converter bridge thingy equivalent. This thing is true then FillBrush = whiteBrush else FillBrush = blackBrush.
You could probably do it with just rectangle, lose the border and set the Stroke on the rectangle.
The stroke is the outside line round a rectangle ( or any shape).

But to answer the question in the title.
Yes you can bind all sorts of things including the point making up a polygon, brush used to draw the line and all sorts. You could even do flashing cells if you wanted.

Drawing Shapes in Layers with CS3

I am working with Photoshop Extended v10.0.1 on Mac OS v10.5.8
I went from PS v5.5 to v10.0.1. Big leap.
In v5.5 I was able to use the Line tool, Rectangle tool or any other shape tool to draw on different layers. I could control the lines width and color. You would be able to see all of the different shapes on the different layers all at once unless of course you hid a layer. Now in 10.0.1 if I draw one shape on one layer, then another on a second layer, the second layer makes the first disappear. In fact I can't seem to draw more than one shape on any single layer, PS always automatically makes a new layer for the new shape. I've tried searching the manual for this and can't come up with the solution. I know much has changed between these two versions but is there something I must do to be able to draw shapes on different layers (and multiple shapes on one layer) and have them all visible like it was on v5.5?

It looks like your shape layer color is white on both layers
and so is the background layer.
Double click on icon to the left of your vector mask in the
layers palette to change to a different fill color.

In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.
Which Office version are you using with the two pcs?
Do the two pcs have the same operation system and software environment?
Based on my test with my local environment (Window 8.1 & Excel 20013; Windows 7 & Excel 2007/2010), I recreate some sample drawing like you provided, but I could not reproduce your issue.
General speaking, if you are using the different Office version with the 2 pcs, the Excel file might display differences, because there also might be some compatibility issues.
I recommend we try the following steps to narrow down the issue:
First, open the file with third pc that installed the same Excel version with correct pc if possible.
If the file display correctly, we'd better focus on the wrong pc (Second pc).
Then, we may try the following methods and check they are helpful.
Update the Office/Windows patches.
Repair Office.
Update the display card drive
Next, if this issue still exists or could not open it with third pc, I recommend you upload the sample file through OneDrive, I want to download and test it.

Hi all,
I wanna ask if it is possible for loading an jpg as background image in Canvas, and draw shapes(ovals/rectangles) on it?
I've tried, but it seems the shapes always covered by the image. How can I due with this? I want the shapes drawn on top of the image, not underneath it.
