Help closing log xml file

I've tried different ways of closing a logging file and all of them omit the </log> closing tag of the element. I can then go back and add the tag to view it in an xml parser but it annoying.
I would have thought that the close() method of the handler instance would do it, but it didnt. Any thoughts?

Without seeing your code (the relevant parts) it is very hard to identify the problem. Are you sure you flush/close the output stream after generating the XML file?

ADF Logger - logging.xml file

Hi,
We are building an ADF Application and created our logger, which is a wrapper around the ADFLogger. As expected logging etc works just fine for the ADF applications deployed in weblogic. However there are parts of the application which could be a standalone (pure java) based components deployed independently, which are leveraging this wrapper logger too. For these applications we added the ADF dependent libraries needed for the ADFLogger. Still these apps are not able to log anything, and I think the main reason being it is not able to get a handle to the logging.xml fine which defines the ODL handler. All other runtime parameters like
"-Djbo.debugoutput=adflogger -Djbo.adflogger.level=FINEST" are passed.
There is no error etc, however the logs are not coming.
Is there a way where we can specify the logging.xml to the ADFLogger, so that it doesn't looks for the default location under - '+/<domain>/config/fmwconfig/servers/DefaultServer+'?
In general also (for pure ADF based applications), is there a way we can define the path of our logging.xml file, instead of using the default one?
Would appreciate any help.

While I appreciate your response, however the question I have is - 'can we have our own logging.xml?' If yes how do we pass the information of our logging.xml to ADFLogger, instead of using the default logging.xml.
I know we can have our own logger handler defined within the logging.xml, but that is not what we are looking for. The ask is to have the option of having the path of logging.xml defined for ADFLogger.

Entries with oracle's IP in log.xml file.

This is about a couple of log entries I found in /dcm/logs/emd_logs/log.xml file.
while I have some Idea about the message itself what I don't understand is why the <HOST_NWADDR> points to 148.87.12.57
Can anyone shed some light on this.
Does R2 connect to oracle in some way each time it is brought up, 'cause the IP 148.87.12.58 is the IP of the PortalStudio and I figured its neighbour belongs to oracle too.
Do I need to keep the box connected to Internet all the time for it to work.
Could someone at oracle tell me what my box is trying to do by connecting to 148.87.12.57.

The <url-pattern> tells the application server which requests are to be handled by the FacesServlet. If the requested URL matches, then the FacesServlet handles the request.
This parameter is not specific to JSF.

Help with my .xml file

for my iTunes library's .xml file, it has all the play counts and everything in it, but, it won't show up in iTunes

see, it has the play count and says it's 4, but that won't load into iTunes, and I want it to. I got it to work before hand, before I re-installed windows (I have my music on an external drive, and tested it with a different log in count to make sure I'd keep my play counts before re-installing)

Urgent help importing an XML file

I'm currently exporting my XML files from Magento, the webshop client. However I cannot use the XML task in ETL because I get the error about namedspaces. I can open the XML file itself no problem, it contains a few columns with data, some empty values.
What I do to solve the error is create the script in ETL that converts the XML file so that I can make the SDX schema. The ETL script itself works

1. your code does not compile (in your main method you try to create an instance of a class which does not exist).
2. your XML document is not well formed.

Maybe there are other problems but you can start by fixing these.

Help on converting xml file to text file

I have xml file and i want to convert to text file ...
How do i write a perticular tag in perticular line by the time converting xml to text file using xsl ...
Ex:

Begging for help with podcast xml file

Hey All,
I have a podcast on iTunes. I am hosting the xml file and podcast mp3s on a friends server so Im not using any service. Everything is working and Ive sucessfully added 4 podcasts so far, and it shows up correctly in iTunes on my PC.
However my podcasts do not showup correct in the iTunes store website, or on idevices. Meaning, I number my shows 001_"NAME" 002_"NAME" etc. Yet in the iTunes store they show up out of order. So my last show is not at the top its at the bottom, and they are all mixed up (like 002, 001, 004, 003 instead of 4,3,2,1) Also the publish date is the same on two of them (and not what i have in the xml file) and doesnt show up at all on the other two. I assume this is a problem with the xml file, yet I dont see any problems with it. But it seems odd that it all works correctly in the actual iTunes program. Ive tried different code, but im very much a noob at it, and everything i find online is from 5 - 10 years ago or wants you to host your podcasts with their site and I dont need that.

I don't see the issues you mention. The order in the Store and when subscribing is what I would expect:
The order in the Store depends on clicking the header to the column: the default is the first one. Some of the dates are a day out - this is quite commmon and is probably a time zone issue (it may be different where you are - I'm in the UK). I don't know why you are seeing a garbled order unless you've clicked on one of the other columns in the Store.

Help: Problems accessing XML file in WebSphere 3.5 Fix Pack 4 on Solaris

We are having an emergent issue with WebSphere 3. 5 Fix Pack 4 on Solaris 2.6: The WAR file we deployed fails with runtime exception due to the inability
to access a local resource(XML file) in the converted WAR file's web directory.
The way we access this XML file is as follows:

The InputStream returned from the URL object is NULL.
After checked the URL's externalForm string, we noticed that its protocol part is "classloader", e.g. the whole URL string is like "classloader:/opt/...../web/test.xml". However, if we replaced "classloader" with "file", the problem disappeared and the XML file can be read without error.
Anybody know why "classloader:" in the URL string cause this problem, and what is the solution without changing the URL string?

Help : Parsing large XML files

someone please help, I am trying to parse XML files of about 60 MB, I have to parse throught 120 of them , search for a particular node and print it. I am using jdk1.3.x , using jdom
On the sample filesd that r available of 114KB i am able to run my code and get the result, but as soon as the large files are used I get the following error

I guess you are using a DOM parser which builds a complete tree of the document. For what you are trying to do this is probably not necessary so a SAX parser may be better. If JDOM doesn't have one try using Xerces from Apache.

Help on web.xml file, what if the parameters contains key words ?

as <param> in web.xml file for a servlet config.
Example:

What should I do if I want to repleace 'some value' with '</param-value>some
value' and still to prevent the engine to terminate parsing the param-value
at the fake ending? Is there a standard way in XML to distanguish that?
(in URL format it can be replaced %xx for some chars).
ie,
<param-value> </param-value>some value</param-value>
where the second </param-value> is the real ending.

You can use "& lt ;" and "& gt ;" xml entities for that. Or wrap text element in <![CDATA[...]]> section.

I have been browsing the web/forums for an example on how to do this for a few days now. I managed to get this working in Flash Pro quite easily but I think I am missing something when I want to do the same thing in Flex.
Basically I want to load an XML file and then set the text values of 5 labels equal to the data in the XML file.
So I a button created in MXML and have set the click event as follows:
     click="dsSetup(event)"
I have also declared the following:
     public var myRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("assets/myFile.xml");   //folder located under src in project
     public var myLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
     public var myXML:XML;
My function that loads is as follows:
public function dsSetup(event:MouseEvent):void
     trace ("dsSetup");
     myXML = new XML (myLoader.data);
     h3.text = myXML.source.itemA;
     h4.text = myXML.source.itemB;
     h5.text = myXML.source.itemC;
     h7.text = myXML.source.itemD;
     h8.text = myXML.source.itemE;
     currentState = 'MainMenu';
myLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, dsSetup);   // I think this line is now redundant as I have set it in the MXML
myLoader.load(myRequest);
This is the way I did it in Flash and it worked ok but I must be missing something in when it comes to Flex.
Can someone explain or point me to a good tutorial that shows how to load XML in Flex?
The ones I found seem to have about 50 lines of code just to load a file and add in way to much complexity for a beginner.

I would suggest to save the loaded data in a Bindable variable and then to bind the text-properties to that:
[Bindable]
var myXML:XML;
public function dsSetup(event:MouseEvent):void
     myXML = new XML (myLoader.data);
     currentState = 'MainMenu';
<s:Label text="{myXML.source.itemA}"/>

Need help with table, xml files, click actions and visibility

Hi.
I am new to adobe livecycle and I need some guidance in a problem that I am facing.
I have an XML. The main tag 'employee' has 4 tags in it, name, age, ph# and address.
Address tag has 6 more tags in it.
I have to create a table which has 4 columns initially (all text fields). The rows are populated acccording to the XML.
1. S. No., which increments according to row number.
2. Name from XML.
3. Age from XML.
4. ph# from XML.
When any S. No. is clicked on, it should display the address details below that row, when it is clicked on again, it should hide those details and the original table view should be restored.
I googled a lot but am still not able to get how to do this.
Please help.
