  • Save as PDF file as excel file or text file in vba excel

    Hi all,
    I am opening a PDF document fromm VBA excel. After opening document it should save the document as excel file or text file in one folder.
    I am trying to do this with some code but not able to , pls help me thatnks.
    Dim AcroApp As Acrobat.CAcroApp
      Dim Part1Document As Acrobat.CAcroPDDoc
    Set Part1Document = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
       Part1Document.Open ("Z:\EG MI Information\MIS\Requests\Req_156\NO.1.pdf")

    Set app = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
    Set avdoc = app.GetActiveDoc
    app.MenuItemExecute ("SaveAs")
    thanks
    Abhijeet

    Hi,
    In the documentation for the saveAs function it has the following params
    cPath The device-independent path in which to save the file.
    cConvID (optional, Acrobat 6.0) A conversion ID string that specifies the conversion
    file type.
    cFS (optional, Acrobat 7.0) A string that specifies the source file system name.
    bCopy (optional, Acrobat 7.0) A Boolean value which, if true, saves the PDF file
    as a copy. The default is false.
    bPromptToOverwrite (optional, Acrobat 7.0) A Boolean value which, if true, prompts the user if
    the destination file already exists. The default is false.
    In order to get a text file saved you need to specify the correct cConvID.
    See the documentation for the valid convID's - http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/10/Acrobat10_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.519.html
    Please note the Acrobat SDK contains all the information and does not require much installing ( as it is a zip file(on windows) and a disc image (on Mac) it just needs extracted)

    Hi
    You could use OLE to integrate SAP with Excel - create files, execute macros etc. (search for DOI on SAP help), but this will only work on the presentation server, so you couldn't run it as a service in background. I suppose your e-mails are sent through the internet, hence the requirement for encryption -- or maybe your client doesn't trust its network people! For this you really should use strong encryption -- anything less, you might as well send plain text. One solution to this would be to send the email down a VPDN -- this would encrypt all traffic between source and destination. Another would be to encrypt the file just before it is attached to the email. This could be done within ABAP, but perhaps a third party public key encryptor would be better placed. This could be invoked via a system command call, or as an RFC. A third solution would be to have your mail server handle the encryption.
    Heres the link for the above explaination

    well, you first need an XML parser, which is easy to implement

    It's really simple, the trick is HOW you decide to write out the PS

  • Convert data in the text file to table in DBL

    Hi guys
    I wanted to convert data in text file which are in multiple rows and columns in DBL format to a table to b seen in labview as DBL format.
    I had tried looking and working at the example but in vain , i just cant produce anything
    pls help. or write me a short example..thanks

    Are you dealing with a table or an array.  For an array, just use the Read spreadsheet file from the File I/O palette.
    For a table,  you will have to convert the number to a string and setting the appropriate precision and width, then write the 2-D string array to the table.

  • How to convert Labview log file to text file?

    I want to open the log file in Excel or other text editor. Is there any special format of Labview log file? I thought it just binary, so I used a general program to convert binary file to Ascii file. But it failed because of the format of the log file format. Is there any other way that I can read log file in Excel? Thanks a lot.

    Dennis Knutson wrote:
    Are you refering to the front panel logging option? The actual binary format is going to depend on what controls and indicators you have on the front panel and their data types. There is an example of using the file i/o functions to read one of these files in chapter 14 of the user manual. The problem you'll have if you write a program to read a log file is that every time you add or delete a control/indicator, you'll have to rewrite your program and then you'll be unable to read older log files. You'd be better off writing your own log routines. Then you would control the binary format. There are shipping examples that you can look at for fbinary file storage.
    Yes, I am referring the front panel logging option and I will read the maual first. Thank you very much for your help.

  • Fm or method for converting  doc,pdf or text  files to binary format

    Hello,
    Are you aware of any function module or method which takes input as a file of type doc, pdf or text files and convert it to binary format? Kindly let me know.
    This is what i tried and was unsuccessful.
    i tried using gui_upload method and pass " asc" as file type while importing file of type .doc but it returns me string filled with strange characters.
    I did try converting this string to xstring using  cl_proxy_service=>cstring2xstring but i realized my 1st step of uploading file itself was wrong.
    Please let me know what can be done if you are aware of how to convert file of various types to binary.
    thanks
    Pooja

    hi All,
    thanks alot for the information and help provided by all of you.
    I did figure out a way where the word document or pdf  can be pretty much loaded with gui_upload. the file type used in the method would be "BIN" the following thing has to be done. declare data type as given below and file would be the complete path along with document name which has to be uploaded
    DATA: BEGIN OF res_line,
                raw(255) TYPE x,
             END   OF res_line.
      DATA: res_tab LIKE res_line OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
    data :  wf_var_stringx TYPE xstring .
      CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD'
          EXPORTING
            filename                =  file
            filetype                = 'BIN'
            read_by_line            = 'X'
         has_field_separator     = ' '
         header_length           = 0
         header_line           = 'X'
          IMPORTING
            filelength              = l_filelength
          TABLES
            data_tab                = res_tab
          EXCEPTIONS
           OTHERS                  = 1.
    LOOP AT res_tab .
        CONCATENATE wf_var_stringx res_tab-raw INTO wf_var_stringx IN BYTE MODE.
      ENDLOOP.
    this will upload the file and will file the string x with its content.
    hope this helps to some of you.
    Thanks

  • Need Help: UTL_FILE Reading and Writing to Text File

    Hello I am using version 11gR2 using the UTL_FILE function to read from a text file then write the lines where it begins with word 'foo' and end my writing to the text file where the line with the word 'ZEN' is found. Now, I have several lines that begin with 'foo' and 'ZEN' Which make for one full paragraph, and in this paragraph there's a line that begins with 'DE4.2'. Therefore,
    I need to write all paragraphs that include the line 'DE4.2' in their beginning and ending lines 'foo' and 'ZEN'
    FOR EXAMPLE:
    FOO/234E53LLID
    THIS IS MY SECOND LINE
    THIS IS MY THIRD LINE
    DE4.2 THIS IS MY FOURTH LINE
    THIS IS MY FIFTH LINE
    ZEN/DING3434343
    FOO/234E53LLID
    THIS IS MY SECOND LINE
    THIS IS MY THIRD LINE
    THIS IS MY FIFTH LINE
    ZEN/DING3434343
    I am only interested in writing the first paragraph tha includes line DE4.2 in one of ther lines Not the Second paragraph that does not include the 'DE4.2'
    Here's my code thus far:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE my_app2 IS
    infile utl_file.file_type;
    outfile utl_file.file_type;
    buffer VARCHAR2(30000);
    b_paragraph_started BOOLEAN := FALSE; -- flag to indicate that required paragraph is started
    BEGIN
    -- open a file to read

    When I run this code I only get one line: DE4.2 I AM MISSING THE ENTIRE PARAGRAPH
    PLEASE ADVISE...

    Hi,
    Look at where you're calling utl_file.put_line. The only time you're writing anything is immediately after you find the the key word 'DE4', and then you're writing just that line.
    You need to store the entire paragraph, and when you reach the end of the paragraph, write the whole thing only if you found the key word, like this:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE my_app2 IS
        TYPE  line_collection
        IS       TABLE OF VARCHAR2 (30000)
               INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
        infile               utl_file.file_type;
        outfile                      utl_file.file_type;
        input_paragraph          line_collection;
        input_paragraph_cnt          PLS_INTEGER     := 0;          -- Number of lines stored in input_paragraph
        b_paragraph_started      BOOLEAN      := FALSE;     -- flag to indicate that required paragraph is started
        found_key_word          BOOLEAN          := FALSE;     -- Does this paragraph contain the magic word?
    BEGIN
        -- open a file to read
        infile := utl_file.fopen('TEST_DIR', 'mytst.txt', 'r');
        -- open a file to write
        outfile := utl_file.fopen('TEST_DIR', 'out.txt', 'w');
        -- check file is opened
        IF utl_file.is_open(infile)
        THEN
         -- loop lines in the file
         LOOP
             BEGIN
              input_paragraph_cnt := input_paragraph_cnt + 1;
                 utl_file.get_line (infile, input_paragraph (input_paragraph_cnt));
              --BEGINPOINT APPLICATION
              IF LOWER (input_paragraph (input_paragraph_cnt)) LIKE 'foo%' THEN
                  b_paragraph_started := TRUE;
              END IF;
              --LOOK FOR GRADS APPS
              IF b_paragraph_started
              THEN
                  IF  input_paragraph (input_paragraph_cnt) LIKE '%DE4%'
                  THEN
                   found_key_word := TRUE;
                  END IF;
                  --ENDPOINT APPLICATION
                  IF input_paragraph (input_paragraph_cnt) LIKE 'ZEN%' THEN
                      b_paragraph_started := FALSE;
                   IF  found_key_word
                   THEN
                       FOR j IN 1 .. input_paragraph_cnt
                       LOOP
                           utl_file.put_line (outfile, input_paragraph (j), FALSE);
                       END LOOP;
                   END IF;
                   found_key_word := FALSE;
                   input_paragraph_cnt := 0;
                  END IF;
              ELSE     -- paragraph is not started
                  input_paragraph_cnt := 0;
              END IF;
              EXCEPTION
                  WHEN no_data_found THEN
                   EXIT;
              END;
          END LOOP;
        END IF;
        utl_file.fclose (infile);
        utl_file.fclose (outfile);
    --EXCEPTION
    --    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    --        raise_application_error(-20099, 'Unknown UTL_FILE Error');
    END my_app2;
    SHOW ERRORSIf you don't have an EXCEPTION section, the default error handling will print an error message, spcifying exactly what the error was, and which line of your code caused the error. By using your own EXCEPTION section, you're hiding all that information. I admit, the error messages aren't always as informative as we'd like, but they're never less informative than "Unknown UTL_FILE Error'. Don't use your own EXCEPTION handling unless you can improve on the default.
    Remember that anything inside quotes is case-sensitive. If your file contains upper-case 'FOO', then it won't be "LIKE 'foo%' ".

    You may have noticed that this site normally doesn't display multiple spaces in a row.
    Whenever you post formatted text (such as your code) on this site, type these 6 characters:
    \{code}
    (small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after each section of formatted text, to preserve spacing.
