Help creating an iView

Hi all,
I'm trying to create an iview that only contains an image that ocupies the full width of the page, this iview goes before the masthead iview.
The problem comes when I include it into the framework, then appeared horitzontal and vertical scrollbars into the new iview, it seems that this ivew has internal borders that I can't modify. Do you suggest me to use another template? (I used KM Document iview an URL iview with the same result)
If it's possible, I would prefer to not modify jsp.

Yes, I did it. Right now, the scrollbars appear because the image does not fit in the predetermined area that I set in the iview properties, but I defined the exact dimensions of my image. I'm sure that the borders are the cause of this scrollbars.
I would like that my iview has a behavior similar to masthead, ideally it should be like a background image of the custom iview, I could use a copy of masthead iview but I don't want that my iview inherit the theme of masthead.
Edit: I would like to avoid any developement, but the more I think about it, I'm more convinced that I need to create a custom layout of my custom iview with a background image that it would be my image.

  • Help creating a BW iView from R3

    Hi all,
we are trying to publish on the Enterprise Portal 6.0 an iView related to BW.
These are the steps we followed to create this iView in R3:
    - we created a Web Template using the BW tool Web Application Designer (WAD)
    - we inserted two web item linked to a BW query (a table and a generic navigation block)
    - we saved the Web Template in the logged user Favorites
Unfortunately, when we check on the Portal Administration \ Portal Content, we can't find the iView that we think we created in R3.
Can you tell us if we are missing something or we are doing something wrong?
Can you point us to a the steps needed to create the iView?
    Thank you for your help.
    Lorenzo

    Hi,
we finally found how to do this!
The procedure was almost correct, but we were missing one point:
using the WAD tool we had created a web template (call it "ZMyTemplate"). We then had to create a new iView in the portal content and set the following property for it:
BEx Web Application Query String = "TEMPLATE_ID=ZMyTemplate"
In this way we were able to correctly preview it.
I hope this can be helpful for anyone.

  • How to create an iview for ABAP Webdynpro Application in Portal?

    HI,
I am Webdynpro Java webdynpro developer.
I want to create an IVIEW for an ABAP Webdynpro application in the enterprise portal.

The process is almost exactly the same as creating a Web Dynpro Java iView. You simply chose the ABAP instead of the Java radio button when you reach that step in the Web Dynpro iView creation process.  There is a video on the topic here:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/media/uuid/eae111e7-0b01-0010-6cb7-e0dd2bfbfa7a

  • Error in creating IAC iviews

    Dear All,
We are trying to create IAC iviews but getting error.
    Environment details:
    OS: AIX 5.3
    DB Oracle 10.2.0.2(UC)
    Application EP7.0 (SPS14)
    Backend ECC 6.0 SR3
We followed the below mentioned steps:
    01) Created one Internet Service ziactest in se80 with the parameters -
    ~transaction = tcode and ~generatedynpro = 1
    02) Published the 'complete service' to the site INTERNAL.
    03) Created one sub element under /sap/bc/gui/sap/its as ziactest
    04) Modified the service ziactest as :
    - specified "GUI Link" = Yes
    - specified following GUI Configuration parameters:
    ~WEBGUI = 1
    ~SINGLETRANSACTION = 1
    ~NOHEADEROKCODE = 1
    ~TRANSACTION = tcode
    ~GENERATEDYNPRO = 1
    - specifed handler as CL_HTTP_EXT_ITS
    05) save & activated the service
When trying to test the service, we are getting a script error "Error on Page": wgu_global_eventhandler is null or not an object and the page displayed - is getting distorted . Also, system is specifying that: "The URL
http://gcbeccd:/sap/public/bc/its/mimes/system/page/menubase.html was not called due to an error."
When tried directly with the above url, the following error is getting displayed:
"The following error text was processed in the system RD3: The theme extracted from PAGE/MENUBASE.HTML has more than 2 characters."
Please note that: The SAP GUI for HTML has been configured and working properly. Also, the SAP note 790727 has been applied to resolve this problem but no result.
Any help in this regard will be highly appriciated.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sudip

    Hello Sudip,
If the webgui service is working then there should be no reason for this to not work.  By specifying ~webgui 1 you're actually not using any template you've created for the ziactest service.  The URL should be:
    http://gcbeccd:/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/ziactest
    Please also try:
    http://gcbeccd:/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?~transaction=tcode
Please also publish the IAC, WEBGUI and SYSTEM Internet Services from SE80 to the Internal ITS.
You should look at the developer trace (dev_w#) for the Dialog Workprocess that is used and reporting the error for more information.

  • Which is better way of creating BSP iView

    Hi Experts,
Can you please let me know how I can create BSP iView.
    Approach 1:
One of creating BSP iView is as follows:
For this we have to say Create iView --> Select iView Template --> Select SAP BSP iView
    Set following properties:
    System: somesystem
Business Server Page (BSP) Application: ztest
    Start Page: ztest.htm
Now we can call the iView in Page etc.
    Approach 2:
Other way of creating BSP iView is that we can create URL for BPS application.
For this we should login into SAP BW. Go to transaction code bps_wb and then open the Web Interface. Then we can go to Edit --> Display in external browser.
Some link will appear. The link will look like:
    http://mycompany:1080/sap(bD1lbiZjPTEwMCZkPW1pbiZpPTEmcz1TSUQlM2FBTk9OJTNhYmF1YzMzZzBfT0JTXzAwJTNhaXg3Sk5aVTV4RDVFWWtKQmFwWGMxTGlSRElJWGphc2x5aEQwYW9jRy1BVFQ=)/bc/bsp/sap/ztest/ztest.htm?bps-design_messages=X
We can create URL iView. We can directly provide this link in the URL iView.
I want to know which approach is correct and why? In second apprach we are not providing the details like
    System: somesystem
Business Server Page (BSP) Application: ztest
    Start Page: ztest.htm
From the link, iView finds out the entire detail.
    Pls help me.
    Thanks

    Hi Dagfinn,
Thanks a lot. Can you please help me with answer of following question:
How to call SAP BSP iView from a  HTML page hyperlink
    The question is as below:
In my project we have URL iView.
This iView calls a HTML page stored in KM.
    HTML page has one hyperlink.
This hyperlink of the HTML page should point to a SAP BSP iView.
When the user will click on HTML page hyperlink, SAP BSP iView should get open.
    How we can do it?
We have created SAP BSP iView in following way.
Create iView --> Select iView Template --> Select SAP BSP iView
    Set following properties:
    System: somesystem
Business Server Page (BSP) Application: ztest
    Start Page: ztest.htm
    Can you please help me?

  • How to Create an IView on EP 6

I have installed EP6 and the SAP Web AS using the sneak priview edition . We have to get certified on SAP in two steps :
    1. running our J2EE applications on the SAP WebAS which we have completed successfully .
    2) Build a Iview which would access our data which lies in an Oracle Database . (The Priview edition had to be installed with SQL Server but we want to grab data for the Iview from our Oracle Database).
I have very little time left for getting Certified . What would be the best way of getting this done . <b>I need to build one main Iview to grab our data from our Oracle database to present one of our significant reports.
Do i need to have the DQE running for this ?</b>
With so much documentation it has been very confusing for me and i have been unable to get the right steps to proceed with this implemenation . I am new to the Certification and also not a Java Developer.
    Thanks
    Ravi

Hi Ravi, below are the steps to create the iView. I have not done this with Oracle but this is the theory.
Please assign points if this helps.
    Cheers
    Daniel
The steps to create the JDBC Query iView are as follows.
    Login as System Administrator,
Navigate to System Administration>System Configuration>System Landscape
    Create a new system,
Choose JDBC System>Assign name etc>Open Object for Editing
Under property category choose: “Connection” & assign,
    Connection Timeout = 60
    Connection URL =  jdbc:sap:oracle://<YOUR_ORACLEHOSTNAME>:1521;SID=<YOURSID>
    Driver Class Name = com.sap.portals.jdbc.oracle.OracleDriver
    SAVE
Change the Property Category to: “Distributed Query Engine”
Enter the admin user\password to the oracle database.
    SAVE
Change the Property Category to: “User Management”
    Choose admin,user
    SAVE
Now change the Display category to System Aliases
Enter a system alias for the system.
Go to user management and assign your login details to the system alias you just created.
Go back to the system in the system landscape and right click and choose connection tests.
Test your connection, at this point if it fails check & re-check the above steps. Ensure that the passwords etc that you provided are correct.
Once this is done all we now need to do is create the JDBC connection iView.
Go to Content Administration, create a new iView using: JDBC Stored Procedure iView>Assign name etc>Choose the system alias we just created>Find your function(You will need DBA to create this for you)>Choose your result set value, Open the object for editing> Click preview. You should see the result from the function (Stored Procedure)

  • Create an iview for batch document upload to KM

Hi, I´m trying to create an iview for batch document upload to the portal. At the moment, I've only been able to upload documents from a source directory in the server, given an xml file uploaded from the client, which indicates the location of these files.
The inclution of the uploaded file to KM is not an issue, that is already solved. I'm just trying to make it usable by an administrative user that may not have access for creating folders in the portal server, unlike me.
I need help doing one of these two things:
    1. creating an upload percentage status bar
or 2. accesing the client's directory to upload and insert the file into the repository one by one.
    Can anyone help?
(by the way, I'm trying to to exactly what the portal epa import iview does, but with documents, so i know it's possible, i just don't know how)

    Hi Omri,
    Harini gave the right solution.
I just want add a small detail:
The par file is actually a zip file.
The simplest way to "open" it (as Harini suggested) is to change its extention to ".zip" and open it with winzip.
    Yoav.

    Hi,
I had created a News form in Form Builder and it is shown in the content management --> explorer --> Folder -->new -->forms.
But I cant create an iView for it.
I followed the steps like new iview from template --> km navigation iView
changed the properties like Layout set, Layout Set Mode, Path to initial Displayed folder, Path to remote folder for Navigation.
Can anyone please tell me the procedure to follow.
    Regards,
    MrChowdary.

    Hi Chowdry,
create iViews for the Forms,Authoring iview and Render List iView.
These iViews can be assigned to users,or assigned to some page using Delta link.
The updated news will be available as a List on the Browser iView, which can be clicked to drill details.
The properties are set in the iView properties of Layout Set ,for example for authoring iView
    Layout Set = NewsExplorer
    For render List iView
    Layout Set = NewsBrowser
Path to Initially Displayed Folder /documents/myNews
The values will change depending upon the form name.
Please go through this document for a detailed example
