HELP!! ERROR IN reading from file!! (PART of )PROGRAM

Take a look at my program first....
import java.io.*;
public class reading_file {
public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
BufferedReader in=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
String [] sType= new String[10];
int [] sNum= new int[10];
float [] sPrice= new float[10];
String FileName="new.txt";
BufferedReader inFile=new BufferedReader(new FileReader(FileName));
String inputLine="";
int totalLines=0;
while(inFile.readLine()!=null){
totalLines++;
int totalStock=totalLines/3;
System.out.println(totalStock);
for(int i=0; i<totalStock;i++){
sType=inFile.readLine();
System.out.println(sType[i]);
sNum[i] =Integer.parseInt(inFile.readLine());
System.out.println(sNum[i]);
sPrice[i] =Float.parseFloat(inFile.readLine());
System.out.println(sPrice[i]);
inFile.close();
I am reading the info from the file to the respective array shown.
e.g these are the info in the .txt file

why is that??
any mistake in the program??

You could mark the start of the file with the mark method from BufferedReader, but you'd best check that this is ok to do with a call to the bufferedreader markSupported method. This method will return true if you are able to mark the reader. You have to include an int parameter with the mark method that is bigger than the file size. In your case this will be easy since the file is small. Then before the second reading, call reset( ) on your buffered reader.
Personally, I wouldn't use arrays but would use an arraylist. Also, I'd have the 3 bits of information entered into a single object and store all the information (contained within the single object) into a single arraylist. Since the arraylist has a variable size, you don't need to know its size in advance, and you don't have to worry about reading through a file twice. Once will do nicely.

  • CX_SY_CONVERSION_CODEPAGE - Error when reading from file in unix directory

    Hi
    We have a custom report which reads data from a file put in the unix directory. This report has been running for good 3 years now without any code changes.
    For a few days the report is dumping with the following error
    CX_SY_CONVERSION_CODEPAGE
    Short text
        Character set conversion is not possible.
    What happened?
        When converting a text from code page '4110' to code page '4102',
        the system either
        - encountered a character which cannot be represented in one of
          the two code pages; or
        - found that this type of conversion is not supported.
    The code where the dump occurs is:
    load the file from the given path
      OPEN DATASET  p_p_lfdata FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT WITH SMART LINEFEED.
      IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
        DO.
    >>>>>>>>      READ DATASET  p_p_lfdata INTO  l_rec. " Dump occurs here
          IF sy-subrc = 0.
    I understand this error is thrown in the OPEN DATASET statements in case of non-unicode compliance, but this statement does not throw an error while the READ DATASET statement does..... Any particular reason why the READ statement is failing even though OPEN is successful???

    Hi,
    you open the according file in DEFAULT mode. I assume you do this on a Unicode system.
    Then the program assumes that the file is encoded in UTF-8 (SAP number 4110).
    Now it seems that the file contains some characters, which are not encoded in UTF-8.
    I would propose to investigate the code page, on which the file is created.
    Ideally this should be UTF-8. If this is not the case, try to change it.
    If this is not possible, then adapt the ABAP program (e.g. use Non-Unicode mode).
    Best regards,
    Nils Buerckel

    I found the installActions file in the installer folder and I think this could be the problem
    INFO: The 'shiphomeproperties.xml' file is missing from shiphome location '/home/oracle/Desktop/database/install/../stage/products.xml.' Add this file to the 'Disk1/stage' directory of the shiphome.
    though I am attaching the log file for more details do you think the installer is corrupt :(

    Many thanks

    Hi Foreverduy,
    Before you run SQL Server 2008 express setup, make sure that you have installed Windows installer 4.5 and.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 manually. For more information about the process, please refer to the article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(v=sql.100).aspx. Moreover, please turn off all the third-party softwares which could prohibit the installation process.
    According to your error message, the issue could be due to that your account has no rights to install SQL Server, or the corruption on the media.
    Firstly, please ensure that your account has admin rights. Also make sure that you right-click the setup.exe and choose “Run as administrator” to complete the installation.
    Secondly, please check if "msdbdata.mdf" file exists at d:\8268cd7b247d294de359c9\x86\setup\sql_engine_core_inst_msi\PFiles\SqlServr\MSSQL.X\MSSQL\Binn\Template. If it exists, please make sure that your account has read permission to the extracted
    folder.
    However, if the file doesn't exist in the extraction, the media could be corrupt. Please download the
    media
    again and check if the issue still occurs.

    Michelle Li

    Im not a lightroom user. even though I have some version 4. I use acdsee pro 6. but my friend has the 5.6 CC version but has a language issue so im trying to help me. basically will guide him over the phone.
    he was editing a wedding, the computer crashed. he rebooted, lightroom came with the preview cache error. he rebooted again..same issue. he did a repair but to no avail. he tried installing an older version in parralel but no success.
    what exactly does he need to do. im not a light room user. I use PS CS6 but not LR.
    anybody can help to help him. I did read some posts and it noted about thumbnail previews and removing or erasing/renaming
    1- where is this file located please?
    2-are there many of these ? and how do I know which is the one he needs to choose?
    thank you for your help.

    Can some one please help me with this error message I keep getting.  I was told to uninstall LR and reinstall it and I am still getting the same error message.  "light room encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit"..

    Go to the folder containing your catalog, and delete the folder that ends in .lrdata. Then start Lightroom, and it will create a new preview file, and you should be good to go.

    I assume you know where your catalogue file (the lrcat file) is located. In the same folder is a previews lrdata folder which you should delete or rename in Explorer, then start LR again.
    If I've made incorrect assumptions above, sorry, and we'll go back over it from the start.

    Open the folder containing your catalog. In that folder you will find another folder with the extension .lrdata, and you need to delete that folder. After you do that, Lightroom should start normally and will create a new preview cache.

  • Web Service; Error attempting to read from file

    I'm trying to connect to a web service as outlined by the book "Creating Dynamic Forms with Adobe LiveCycle Designer" which is an excellent book by the way.
    I'm receiving the following error "Error attempting to read from file. http://www.webservicex.net/BibleWebservice.asmx"
    I've successfully created the Data Connection to
    http://www.webservicex.net/BibleWebservice.asmx?wsdl
    I dragged and dropped the bookTitle, chapter & Versie onto the form. I also dragged and dropped the GetBibleWordsByChapterAndVerseResult and the GetBibleWordsByChapterAndVerseBtn.
    I Preview PDF and click the button I get the above error.
    Does anyone have experience using Web Services with Adobe LiveCycle ES and have advice on how to resolve this. Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    -Todd

    Well, I have more news on the error I'm getting. - NO I didn't find the problem. Yet
    I checked and made sure that web.config had "None" selected " in authentication mode. I.E. <authentication mode="None" /> This should eliminate any authentication problems since that turns off IIS's authentication checking.
    At first I was thinking the form was generating the error trying to read the result coming back from the web service, but I put in some code that writes the result to a log file when the method fires off.
    I noticed that when I clicked on the button on the form, the error message would pop up from Acrobat, but when I check the log file, there was NO entry. This means that Acrobat failed before it could execute the method.
    Here is the web method:
    [WebMethod(CacheDuration = 30,
    Description="Returns the String 'True' or 'False' whether or
    not you entered a 'T' or 't'.")]
    public string TF(string Tf)
    string result="False";
    if(Tf.Substring(0,1).ToLower()=="t"){
    result= "True";}
    LogFile.Write("Sent: "+result);
    return result;

  • "Lightroom encountered and error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit"

    I keep receiving this error every time I open LR, "Lightroom encountered and error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit" and the app won't open. It said LR would try and fix this error next time I opened it but the error remains. I tried uninstalled and installing the app and the error remains.
    Any Ideas here? Is there another app that may be telling it where to look for the cache and it no longer there? I was using a ramdisk for a bit but ditched it. Not sure if that has something to do with it but it seems suspect.
    Your thoughts?

      Edward: OK
      Gokul: Please check if you can launch Lightroom without any error.
      Edward: it shows me a welcome screen and is asking me to select my country
      Edward: aka, register the software
      Gokul: You can skip and launch it.
      Edward: LR catalog not found
      Gokul: Please select the catalog.
      Edward: my original catalog?
      Gokul: Yes.
      Edward: testing integrity of catalog
      Edward: loaded just fine
      Gokul: Okay.
      Gokul: Please check if you can re-launch it again.
      Edward: yes, it worked!
      Gokul: Excellent!
      Gokul: Since your preferences were corrupted you were facing issue so we renamed the preferences file to reset it.
      Edward: aha....ok
    All of my import/export presets were intact along with develop user presets. I'm happy as a clam for my $10/month!

    You don't delete a file, you have to delete a folder. Is that what you did?
    If you deleted the folder specified above, and you still get the message, then it's the wrong folder. Use your operating system's search function and find ALL folders on ALL disks whose name ends with Previews.LRDATA, delete each one found, and then try opening Lightroom.

    Anyone pls help. It's bit urgent. Thanks.

    I was using iReport v0.5.0 and it uses jasperreports-0.6.7.jar (v0.6.7) of
    JasperReports. I compiled and i deployed my application in BEA weblogic server. I got the error listed below. Only after i saw your
    response explaining that iReport was the issue, i checked the iReport lib directory and found this version of jasperreport jar.
    iReport creates a java source file which is used to a jasper file.
    iReport will link in the v0.6.7 version of jasperReports. When you
    deploy your web application it will recognize this version through the compiled jasper file and give you the InvalidClassException, even
    though you only have one jasperReport jar deployed with your war file.
    The way i fixed this problem was to create my web application with the
    jasperreport jar comes with iReport.
    Thanks for mentioning iReport.
    Christopher

  • I received an error message in Lightroom 5 , Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit

    I was wondering now that I deleted my preview cache after receiving the lighgtroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache  and needs to quit  , light room 5 opened fine now , but  I now have no previews showing  up , all I get is blank gray boxes ...  have  I lost everything ?
    how do I get the pictures or previews back ...all my folders I had catalogued , now show only grayed boxes where the previews were ...  can I get this back ?

    I will check for the meta data.. as to hows this adobes fault....first let me ask do you work for or get paid for by adobe?  If the answer is no, which i presume it is...then that answers it... how is it , or better yet why is it a billion dollar company, has or offers no support, no phone number, no email nothing...but depend on third party people who may or may not know or give the correct info to help, and do this free, all the while adobe makes $$$ and runs smaller companies that may have actually better products by getting or buying off reviews etc..that only rave, but never mention issues...the issue im having has been reported by adobe users since version 1, yet has not been addressed or even mentioned...why shouldusers get little true support from adobe, get a product that has un addressed issues is messed up...it would be like ford making newer vehicles say a f150, advertising all the bells and whistles , but knowing since their 2008 model  that if you go over 70 mph for more than 100 miles the engine will just shut off, then have know way to contact them to solve the problem...had no mechanics to fix it...no warranty...that would be insane...but yet companies like adobe and microsoft do this all the time, but since its notlife threatening as driving a truck would be somehow we accept it as ok....yet it sickens me the hardearned money spent on their products, its an investment,  like whether or not to go canon or nikon..your investing in the company its not easy to switch once you make that intial choice...  adobe and microsoft continously advertise all the so called (al beit meaningless) upgrades or improvents which are more fluff than  worth while improvent, but the way they present them you feel you need them...if they went back to the true ethics of buisness and american pride they would focus moe money and attention to customer service,  and truly improving the product rather than how to sell more...but then they know like my camera example once you choose your theirs...sad...i had an adobe salesman out right lie to me and misrepresented a product, as i was having an issue getting sound to work in creating a video of my granddaughters birth...i was using an older version, told him all the info , he said if i upgraded i would have no trouble, so i did...the sound still didnt work . Then they suggested another program to convert the files more money down...the other company also makes video editing programs, once that work...and cost less...but i am all tied up in adobe spending hundreds all ready...sad ...very sad...now that ive had some issues and have gone back and done more researching i see all tge issues, many go back 10 plus years and have yet to be addressed...yet many otherless known third party companies had similar issues, corrected them , are cheaper, have support teams but arent pushed in every photo magazine etc...and arent known where giants like Adobe that dont address there issues have or offer no Adobe paid support, yet through their money and muscle to dominate magazines, and web, by controlling how things are precieved....sad in deed...the more i learn, and experience the sadder things are....but enough complaining sadily im invested in adobe for now till i get rich,  just want the crap to work...so i can get my cherished pictures , once in a lifetime pics of my granddaughter  back...to bad people have to place faith in a company and risk loosing all the pictures that mean something to them,and realize the comoany only truly cares about $$$...sad

    LR 5.3 has stopped functioning. Message Lightroom encountered an error when reading from it's previous cache and needs to Quit. Re boot comes backtio the same message how do I get the software back?

    Thanks, it makes sense but I am a little worried about the files that are coming up for lr catalog. In order to process today's photos I opened a new catalog and that went well -- up to Smugmug and out to the client. but the only other file with today's (date which is when I had the problem -- power failure while I was importing) --  is not a previews file but in fact the corrupt lr.cat.
    the rest listed including previews are dated 2012. Am I not looking in the proper place.
    Thanks for your help
