Until recently, it was possible to download the help files in PDF format, which was very useful when off line.
It seems that all links to the Adobe download sites have been broken ?

    They are still available.

    Peter,
    Please find my comments inline:
If I understand you coIf I understand you correctly, any of the Acrobat 8 or greater versions can generate a PDF with the comments feature. Correct please?
    Absolutely!
That means that one person must have a paid for version of Acrobat, ommenting cannot be initiated by users of Acrobat Reader, the latter only enables you to comment on a PDF that has been created in a paid for version. Correct please
Yes, the commenting has to be inititated or rather the person with the paid version installed has to assign rights to the reviewers. Only then the assigned persons will receive emails in their inboxes that the document is set for review.

  • Help! How to convert a plenty of doc files to pdf format?

    System: windows xp
    Software: Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0
I'm tired of repeatedly click open, convert, save, close to convert a large quantity of doc files to pdf format. Is there any easy way to do this? Is there any kind of plugin or batch command provided to this software?

Turn off the view in Acrobat option in the Adobe PDF printer and then just drag and drop them on the printer. You may have to figure out where to send them or accept the default, again an option in the printer.

The uploaded file can be of any type. ...>1) Write a class that will intelligently render a file of any type..
    2) ... (well, do '1' first, then after getting your Nobel prize for AI, come back and we'll talk)

    BTW
    - PDF sucks. It is designed for printing, and I (for one) don't want to kill more trees, and have no printer.
    - This subject (convert file to PDF) has been discussed on the forums a bazillion times. Did you search the forums before asking your two (very closely related) questions?

    Hello AKA_TG,
There are manuals installed on your PC. You can find them at
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2010\manuals
    Hope this helps.
But of course these do not include anything like a complete set of manuals like in the 'old' days'. The only included manuals of much help to a beginner are the getting started and quick reference manuals.
    AKA_TG,
If you want a hardcopy, your only real option is to do a print of the LabVIEW Help. I have not done a print in a long while. What I tend to do is look at the release and upgrade notes to see what has changed and then look it up in the Help. I'll also open any new examples with Context Help turned on.

  • Creating help files from PDF

I am evaluating RoboHelp as a possible way to create help
files (probably will end up being .CHM files). We'd like to be able
to go from the files used for our printed documentation, which are
generated using LaTeX and output as PDF files. We use LaTeX to
create the PDF files because there are a lot of math symbols in the
docs that no other program seems to handle as well, and I don't
know if RoboHelp will be able to do the job without a lot of manual
cleanup--I've tried a few other programs and the results were not
pretty. Anyone else had success using RoboHelp for their help files
    doing something similar?

    Welcome to the forum.
For anything like this I would strongly recommend that you
download the trial version. It is a very simple matter to create a
project and import a PDF to see whether the result is what you
    want.

  • I understand how to convert a file to PDF format, but not how to then send it as an attachment

How to you retrieve and attach a file which has been converted to PDF format to an email?

I don't really understand your question since you don't say whether you are trying to send to or from iPad. However on the assumption that you want to send from iPad, if you have Pages on your iPad then you can just go to the "My Documents" screen of Pages and then choose the leftmost icon at the bottom that has an arrow out of it, then choose email document and select whether you want to email it as a pdf, word or pages document.

  • Link in help file to PDF

Using RoboHTML x3, I set up a link to a PDF in my help file.
(I don't care whether the file opens in the CHM frame or in a
separate target=_blank window.) When I preview using the glasses
button, the PDF displays fine. After compiling, when trying to open
the PDF from the CHM, Internet Explorer cannot display the web
    page.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you added the .pdf to your baggage? This is necessary to
    include it in the .chm.
If you want it to be an external file (i.e. completely
independent of your compiled help) then you need to treat it
differently. Since the help reader navigates with absolute paths,
you must use the Microsoft parser function to find an external file
even when it is in the same folder. This is documented in the Help
Workshop help file. It is also in Rick Stone's Tips and Tricks
file. Let us know where the .pdf is to reside - compiled in the
    .chm or external to it.

  • Acsm File to pdf format

How can I pass an Adobe Digital Editions 2 acsm-file in a pdf format so that I can sent it to iPad2 an read it in iBooks?

This forums is only for discussions on the forums themselves. I suggest that you try in the Digigtal Editions forum
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_digital_editions
    or in the Acrobat one,
