RadioButton Component Hell!
Ok, so anyone who has worked with Flash's built-in radio
button knows that
it's not very friendly when trying to make multi-line labels.
Once you know
where to look and what properties to change it's not much of
a
problem...BUT... I can't get the darn button itself to stay
aligned with the
top line of the label.
Do this to replicate:
1. New Flash File (v8, AS2)
2. Drag a RadioButton component into your library
3. Paste the code below in the Actions panel
****copy and pase code below****
import mx.controls.RadioButton;
var rad:RadioButton = this.createClassObject( RadioButton,
"rad", 2 );
rad.setSize( 450, 125 );
rad.label = "SAenean adipiscing sagittis ligula. Integer
nunc. Nulla
facilisi. Nam in risus. Donec hendrerit luctus enim. Ut quam.
Fusce
tincidunt. Suspendisse potenti. Aenean enim. In hac habitasse
platea
dictumst. Maecenas vel risus. Praesent fringilla semper
lacus. Nullam cursus
mauris suscipit ipsum. Praesent vel odio vitae metus gravida
tempus.";
rad.labelPath._width = 425;
rad.labelPath.multiline = true;
rad.labelPath.wordWrap = true;
rad.labelPath.autoSize = "left";
****end of code****
...See what I mean?
I've looked at the other properties, which you can only see
when running the
debugger, but can't find the property I'm looking for to set.
Can ANYONE help with this?
Thanks,

I have created an application that requires the flash combo
box component but i dont know how to code it. Any help?
I want each label to goto a certain frame when clicked.

Cheers if you can helpDrag a combo box onto the stage.
Give it an instance name (myCombo)
Click properties and add the labels
Add the frame numbers you want to jump to as data

CS4 Radiobutton Component Problem
I have converted a Flash3 to a Flash4 presentation. My radiobutton component radiobutton graphic no longer appears but yhr buttonm is still active as well as the RB label. WhenI run this with firefox, this error message appears:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at fl.controls::RadioButton/drawLayout()
at fl.controls::LabelButton/draw()
at fl.controls::RadioButton/draw()
at fl.core::UIComponent/callLaterDispatcher()
Does anyone have a hint as to what I can do to eliminate this proble?I have this exact problem, though this FLA has never not been a CS4 FLA.
To ensure it wasn't the recent 10.0.2 patch, I removed the components from the library as suggested and re-dragged them from the Components panel. The error still persists.
I should note that if I have the components out on the main stage, they work fine and produce no errors. They are inside of a clip which is instantiated at run-time and added to the stage (a popup window). I am having a different, but probably related, error with the ComboBox. It gives the following two errors:
TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter child must be non-null.

Flash Lite 2 component:XML List Box Lite for Dynamic Flash Lite 2 application
XML ListBox Lite is the Flash Lite UI component lets you
create XML driven dynamic lists for your Flash Lite 2 mobile
applications!
XML ListBox Lite is a Flash component for Flash Lite 2.0
application development for mobile phones. Creating a lightweight
dynamic list box for Flash Lite application becomes as easy as a
snap using this component. Now no more the Flash Lite application
developers need to be worried about creating dynamically populated
list box that will work on nearly every symbian series 60 models
which support Flash Lite 2.0.
XML ListBox Lite comes handy when you plan to create a
dynamic list which is populated with the data sourced from a simple
XML file , such creating a play list for your Flash Lite MP3 Player
application, creating a list for a shopping catalogue etc.
XML ListBoxLite is a complete solutions for creating
customized xml driven dynamic lists in Flash Lite 2 mobile
application development.
The basic features of the component are:
Create Unlimited Number of Tabs: XML ListBoxLite can populate
any number of tabs and provides proper visualization and navigation
of these tabs.
Fully Functional Scrollbars: The scrollbars position ratio is
auto adjusted by the number of tabs that appear in the list, which
gives the users whether any tabs are left in the list to scroll.
Display Tabs as per needs: This list component allows you to
display any number of tabs from the range of 8, 4, 2 and 1, at any
instance. This serves the need for example when you have more text
to display you can choose 4 or 2 tabs so that you need not
compromise on the content side.
Customize the Look and Feel: You can set any color as
parameters for different elements of this list component so that it
will fit your application seamlessly.
Virtually zero time to implement: This component does not
require any extra programming in FlashLite 2.0 Action script to
display your contents. Just update the xml list and it is ready for
use.
Lightweight and User friendly: XMLListBoxLite offers you
great glossy look and advanced features within just 17 KB . The
user experience is also magnetic.

http://esspl.com/flashcomponents/xmllistboxlitehome.aspHello there,
I am have a similar kind of problem. I am trying to run a video on Pocket PC (WM5) using video.play() method on FlashLite 2.1. It works fine in Device Central and my Nokia mobile (symbian OS with default FlashLite 2.1). Video is obviously embedded in FlashLite 2.1 and was originally in *.3gp format.
Can you please help me where I am going wrong or what am I missing ?

Need help in finding mpeg2 component number to unlock key so I can burn dvd?? I have premiere elements 3.0
Thanks,
sylviaSylvia,
I cannot comment on PrE 3, as I did not start until PrE 4. With the latter, when one went to use one of the modules, they were automatically "registered." Based on comments in the Help file, I asked pretty much this same question, back then. All was done automatically, in PrE 4.
Maybe those, familiar with PrE 3, can be of help to you.
Good luck,

Have you made any progress with this issue?
The exact same thing happens to me, and even increasing the memory params in flashBuilder.ini did not solve my problem.

Need help FLASH not launching and not uninstalling "licensing for this product has stopped working" and " you can only install one adobe product at a time please complete the other installation" Flash was working absolutely fine before, I have no idea why this happened.
I am having similar problem. Can't open any of CS3 programs after trying to download Dreamweaver Trial, which wouldn't work because "couldn't remove DLM extention" error message. So now I can not run Illustrator, Photoshop, or even Adobe Reader. These are properly licensed for about a year. I get "License for product has stopped working". Have 2 pending cases open with Adobe support (one for Dreamweaver trial, one for license problem) since 8/3 with NO ANSWERS - It says answers within 1-3 business days. Was on phone support hold today for over 3 hours before line went dead with no help. What is up with adobe support? Can anyone help?

Attaching Flash's UIScrollbar component to a movie clip
I'm attempting to attach Flash's UIScrollbar component to a movie clip so I can scroll graphics, pdf links and a series of flv files. I know how to attach the scrollbar to a dynamic text field (drag and drop) and have tried similar processes with the mc but no luck. I feel like it's not as simple as "drag and drop" and that the mc itself needs to have it's x and y's defined and then have script associated (note I'm using as3) but I'm lost. Suggestions?
Yes, a compiler error comes up when I try to assign scrollTarget to this
specific movie clip.
For a quick fix...while I'm trying to work this out...is there a way to
attach flash's UIScrollbar component to a movie clip. I've used it for
dynamic text fields but haven't been successful attaching it to an mc. -

URGENT Please help flash 8 components
I have written a .exe application that has a email submission
form at the end, the form is built up of flash 8 components. The
component ids are as follows:
fname.text;
femail.text;
fmessage.text;
fcountry.text;
fsubject.text;
On my submit code i have passed the fields using this method
fname = fname.text;
femail = femail.text;
fmessage = fmessage.text;
fcountry = fcountry.text;
fsubject = fsubject.text;
This is perfect and works first time no problems. My problem
is becasue the flash .exe never closes the component id's are stuck
at the last setting which is i.e. fname = fname.text; when the form
comes round again it doesnt work becasue its stuck at fname =
fname.text;
I need to tell the flash program to forget this after i have
submitted it and return it to fname.text = fname.text;
Please can you help, i'm pulling hair now and ive got a
deadline to sort this out :/
If the swf was on a webpage this wouldnt be a problem becasue
the swf gets loaded each time the page is refershed, but becasue
it's a .exe and never gets closed its stuck this way after being
run first.Nope ive tried all sorts
fname.text = fname.text doesnt work, its becasue fname.text
no longer exists its now fname, i need to set it back after submit.
I really need to get this working or i'm dead meat!
This is my submit code:
butt_send.onRelease = function() {
fname = femail.text
femail = femail.text;
fmessage = fmessage.text;
fcountry = fcountry.text;
fsubject = fsubject.text;
loadVariablesNum(form1, 0, "POST");
gotoAndPlay("home"); -
I am creating an application that requires the flash menu
bar. i am having some problems with the coding can you help?
