Help, ghost image appearing in composition background

Hello
I have an issue of a ghost image appearing in the composition background. I can't figure out how it got there or how to remove it. It's really annoyong as the image also appears in rendered videos.
This only seems to appear when my composition settings is set at 1024 x 576 px, which I must use for projects. If I increase the composition size by 1 pixel, the image disappears, change it back and it reappears.
Please note, that there is no files in my project and the image still appears.

Update your graphics driver and flush the disk cache. This is an artifact that relates to that - eitehr the buffer reappears when you set it back to the old resolution or an invalid cache is pulled in. It only disappears when you change the resolution because naturally there is no previously stored data...

Help - canvas doesn't match timeline -- ghost images appear

Hi,
After having no problem in panther and final cut 5.0 I've had to upgrade to tiger (10.4.8) and FCP 5.1.2. When I opened and edited my project, I got a sort of ghost image (a still image from elsewhere in the timeline) appearing in the canvas over where another clip should be. This happened once and I tried everything (deleting and then brining in clean copy of clip) and no dice. The good news is that when I output to QT.mov, everything looks as it should.
But suddenly, I'm having this problelm in many areas of my project, which makes it hard to edit at all. Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried rendering everything, but it doesn't change anything.
Two other clues:
1) at the same time I've had trouble getting VoiceOver to recognize where i am in the timeline so have had to create "In" marker for the project at that spot where I'm doing a new voiceover.
2) For what it is worth, there does seem to be some odd lines (same color as rendered project but as if cut into smaller pieces in the area of the timeline that triggers this).

Ghost images of buttons after background edit

After modifying the background of a demo, I still get an image of the buttons in their original location. Here's what I did:
I recorded a demo of a website, where one of the steps is to click on a button. After recording the demo, I changed all of the backgrounds; specifically, I moved the background image (and all of the animations/controls) up about 20px. Everything *works* fine, except when it gets to the part on the slide where you click the button, a horizontal strip of the background in its old position appears. It's the same height as the button, and appears where the button used to be. I moved the button object, but to no avail. I've looked at all of the layers of the slide and it doesn't appear to be in any of the layers.
What I THINK is happening is when you click a button, Captivate records that little animation (the depression of the button). But rather than recording the whole screen, it just records a horizontal strip as tall as the button is to optimize the size. However, I can't find that animation anywhere in the project. Any ideas?
(I found a work around of pasting the background as an image and making it the bottom layer which hides the ghost button, but can't figure out why that works)

When using personas no image appears, only the background color

have firefox 5.0.1

Same problem here. I tried the safe mode deal and it didn't work. On mine I can't even see a the tiled images of the personas, but when I scroll over them it previews it for me, but like the previous poster said it's just a solid color with no images. I really like using the personas and hope that I can get this figured out. Thanks.

Help! Unwanted patterns appearing in the background of edited photos!

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this- I'm continuing to have issues when I open a photo to edit in Elements. I will apply a filter or a distortion or even sharpen the image and then there are suddenly gray and white patterns that appear in the background of my photo. They're not pixels- it looks as though the background of the photo is showing through and it saves as a JPEG that way as well (background showing through). I've included a screenshot of a photo I was editing where it occurred.
I've tried contacting support for this- the first time they claimed it was fixed (it wasn't) and the second time they hung up on me so I'm getting desperate to find someone with an answer here. Any help would be much appreciated- thanks!

Need Urgent help--Display image as background of an email

First, realize that how a message is displayed is up to the message reader being used.
You can't control it, you can only provide suggestions.
Using html text with a reference to an external image is a good start. I don't understand
what you mean when you say "the content formatting is lost". Is none of the html formatting
having any effect? Are you seeing the raw html instead of the formatted text?

Sync ebooks to ipad creates ghost images in iBook , help fix please

Hi
My Partner got a new ipad air for Xmas , and I helped her put some music and books on it for her .
However when we sync the books from iTunes (new copy just put on her computer )( windows vista ) some of the books appear fine in iBook, but many other have a ghostly appearance , just a cover and many covers the same in ghost .
Most of the books came from iTunes and were fine there all look fine but only on ipad does not work. Did sync with cable not wifi . And all are in correct format as works in iTunes .
What's going on and how to fix . I already tried deleting via iTunes ( re sync with no books ) but that also leaves ghost images on ipad iBooks . Then sync again but still have same problem .
Any suggestions appreciated , had a google and the same question is around but no one has answered it yet .

I wouldn't say pixelated; more like blurry.
Like ConnectedCreative said, what steps are you using? Are you using "bicubic sharper" when resizing down?

I recently upgraded to 0S 10.6.8 on mab pro and now have pink lines around the desktop borders. A horrible red colour appears in the background of the screen saver, and in parts of Safari and other applications including MS Office. please help

I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro to SL OS 10.6.8 and now have pink lines around the desktop borders and some menus. There is also a horrible red colour that appears in the background of photobooth and parts of Safari. The screen saver looks like an alien life form with red in the background. There are odd translucent colours in the background of other applications including MS Office. It looks like a horrible psychedilic trip from the 60's. I ran the upgrade again but nothing changed. Can you help?

Backup your files off the computer (not TimeMachine) and disconnect.
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk, under the Utilities menu > Disk Utiltiy > Repair Disk, and Repair Permissions
(quit and stop if Disk Repair (only) issues a failure and notify us)
Quit and install 10.6 again, reboot and Software Update again, this time download it and then run it. Check Software Update until clear.
c boot off the 10.6 disk and use Disk Utility >Repair Disk again (fixes a bug)
Reboot and check any installed programs, some may not function who have installed kext files into OS X, those need to be reinstalled.
You didn't mention if you upgraded from 10.5 or 10.6.7, the above steps are for fixing a 10.6 to 10.6.8
If you upgraded from 10.5, you should erase the drive in Disk Utility first, then install 10.6 fresh, but then all your programs will have to be reinstalled or updated from original sources.
Also the 10.6.3 upgrade disk has no free iLife, but you can install 10.5 fresh then upgrade to 10.6.3, then to 10.6.8 and then all new programs and that will give free iLife that came on the factory 10.5 disks.
You also can use Pacifist to extract iLife from 10.5 disks.

cor-el : thanks for the pointers! I wish the solution isn't an add-on every time ... if such long-standing behaviour is going to change, the least that could be done is put in an about:config option to get back the old behaviour.

Persistent Ghost Images

I wonder if anyone else has had this problem:
You know the yellow text bubbles that appear when you hold your mouse over a link in Safari or Mail, etc.? Well, I've got these two bubbles, one from Adobe Acrobat and one from Safari, that are stuck on my screen. One is at full opacity while the second is very transparent. I've tried using expose to flash it off but it only disappears and reappears w/ the other windows. I've tried fast user switching to hopefully knock it off the screen but it rotates right along with the rest of the desktop. They are not clickable and do not move in relation to the workspace unless expose, but not spaces, is activated. Nothing short of logging out completely will remove these ghost images. What the **** is going on here? Help Steve!

The issue is resolved!
I updated my iPhone, iPad and iPodtouch to iOs 8.1 but didnt update to icloud drive for Windows 4 simultaneously. After updating to iOs 8.1, I tried to add some files to icloud using icloud.com website. But as I had not updated my windows PC to icloud 4, the files could not be saved on the cloud in the new format.
The background story is that Apple has changed the "file type" completely with the introduction of iCloud Drive. The iWork documents used to be in absolutely different format before the introduction of iCloud drive. The iCloud drive doesnot recognise those old files.
So those who have updated to iCloud drive on one device and started working using icloud on the non-updated device, have created confusion for the icloud drive folder and the apps.
I scanned through my iCloud drive Keynote folder and found those corrupt files. I sent those files to myself in .pptx format and deleted them from the iCloud drive folder. Before this, I had updated my PC to icloud drive fro windows 4. Now there was one file on which I had worked from my iPad before updating my PC which was not getting deleted. I tried hundreds of ways to get rid of it. I moved it from one folder to another, changed its name, etc etc.... If I tried to open it, it was getting downloaded to my PC as a folder... and when I was trying to delete it, it was giving an error message... However, after Ctr Alt Del for some 100 times, it got deleted from iCloud drive folder on iCloud.com. Instantly the files started getting downloaded on all my ios devices. Instant changes visible. Instant changes visible.
Please search for all those files on which you worked from the day of your updating to iOs 8 and release of Yosemite and remove those from the iCloud drive. The way I got rid of thsi issue, may all get rid of it.

Urgent- Please help with image overlaying

Please,please, can someone help me with an imaging issue and show me what I'm doing wrong.
I'm a swing beginner and I'm trying to create a application for a board game. Currently I'm using JLabel components to try and create jpeg pieces over a JPanel component that has the board background.
Currently I've written the code for the board background component and the pieces but can't get the image to appear on the background.
Please can someone show me what I'm doing wrong.
If someone can help me get this working, I've got 16 dollars from other posts in this forum I can give you.

Ghost image

Hi All,
I have developed a application in Director in which i have
used both and flash and jpeg images. In my Main screen i have a
Jpeg image as background and above that i have a Flash navigation
menu.
The Problem is when i leave the application idle for some
time and working on other application like word or any other
application. When i resume to our applictio i could not see any
background image, its black and the flash navigation buttons or
visible. Why this Ghost image happens.
Can some one help me on this. Looking forward to Yout reply

Are you using Direct To Stage on your Flash?
Try this code in a movie script (pre-MX2004 syntax), it will
foce the stage to redraw when your app comes to the front
on activateApplication

Need help placing images

Hey everybody hows it going? Any help you could give me would

number image from an array of images. Now, is there a way to
specify different photos for the three different buttons?

Ghost Images During Slideshow Transitions

I have just made a slideshow DVD for a friend with his holiday snaps of New Zealand. There were 592 photos and I used the Dissolve transition. When it plays, ghost images come up during the transition. They seem to be quite random images; screen shots of various things mainly. Sometimes the corner of an open folder, sometimes the main menu picture.
If I start over, the ghost images change but they still appear.
Can anyone help with this?
