Help Help! Microsoft Entourage 2004 is preventing my messages to my email.
hey guys this is so weird!
I decided to use mic entourage 2004 vers 11.4.0 so i can send emails directly from craigslist and others websites. I added the account, pop/smtp server, and now i realized that it's been 3/4 days that i'm not receiving emails. This is so weird cause that never happened before. On top of that, it took all my messages from the inbox of the actual email server (windows live) to the inbox of entourage. So now my inbox of the windows live email is totally empty.
I really don't know what's going.
i guess so. So what do u suggest me to do now? See now that i unselect the check box "include in this account "send and receive all"schedule" it stopped receiving and "sucking" messages from the server which is good. Cause i don't wanna use this program no more lol

There is no such thing as entourage mail so if you want to access the email account with the Mail application that you are currently accessing with Entourage, who is the email account provider for the email account you are currently accessing with Entourage?
Is it an Apple .Mac email account or is the email account provided by your internet service provider that you use for connecting to the internet?
You can get the account setup information for this email account by checking the account settings with Entourage such as the account type - IMAP or POP, the incoming mail server and outgoing mail server for the account along with the account's user name format which is usually the portion of your email address in front of the @ sign only but with some email account providers it is the entire email address. -

We have been experiencing very unstable behavior with Microsoft Entourage specifically on MacBook Pros. One users loses the ability to click on anything within Entourage, until he reboots his machine. Another couple of users ran into similar issue with not being able to open entourage without error messages. HELP! Entourage won't send outgoing messages
Hi
I have Entourage and Gmail linked together. All my gmails come into Entourage and I've been using Entourage for my emailing for years without problem.
Now it won't let me send any. I've reset it from Google again but no joy. The error message I get is: *The server can't be found. Be sure the mail server information is entered correctly in the Account Manager, and that your DNS settings in the Network Control Panel are correct.*
The information is the same as it always was. The only thing I can find in my DNS settings is a DNS server coupled with a search domain for my old lodger who left over a year ago. It's greyed out and I can't even get at it.
Does any kind soul have a solution to my problem or shall I just throw it out the window and get a new one?

Entourage (2004) creates duplicate inbox messages after upgrade to Tiger
I recently upgraded to Tiger in order to sync my iphone.
All works well except incoming mail messages duplicate themselves in my Entourage Inbox.
Some of the duplicate messages cannot be opened completely and cannot be deleted.
I unsuccessfully searched Mactopia for a patch.
I sync with an Exchange server at my office and had no problems with Panther.
Also I do not get the duplicate emails on my iphone or my MS Outlook Web Mail.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
PaulI had the same issue. I found that I had two entries under my account settings, which pointed to the same mail server. Once I deleted one of the accouint entries, the problem has been resolved.

Bizarre display/UI behavior scripting Entourage 2004
Hello, Everyone!
I’ve been working on this script a long time... it is designed to be used with Microsoft Entourage. In order to slim down the email database size, it saves attachments in a specified path (~/Documents/Archived Attachments/[current year]/[current date]), links the email to the newly saved version of the attachment, and then finally (assuming the save was successful) deletes the attachment from the email. I have a nearly identical version working with the older version of Entourage (version X), and it runs fine (mostly). However, this one, for the 2004 version of Entourage, has a really strange issue, which I can not figure out:
As the script is running, even though no windows are told to open (in fact, the script closes ever Entourage window before it begins the archiving procedure), little portions of message windows start appearing here, there & everywhere on the screen. Not complete windows, just small pieces of windows. You can not close them by any normal means, as they are not normal windows. The only way I’ve found to get rid of all these little window pieces that show up is to use Exposé. Hit F9, then F9 again, and all the artifacts that were there are gone... but new ones show up shortly again.
The code is below... and it is a ‘SAFE’ version. That is, the line where the script deletes attachments from your email is commented out, just in case anyone would be willing to try out the script to help me out. If you do, please do make a backup copy of your current Entourage identity, just in case, though I can say I’ve done extensive testing and have never had a lost/damaged email, attachment, database, or what have you.
Can anyone tell me what I’m missing?

i do not have the solution but there is some thigs that can help.
You can use "Run\Stack Trace"(CVI/IDE menu) to check the way of program flow to actual (break) point.This can be useful to check if Ring callbak is called in time when your plot function i s already in run(assuming you call ProcessSystemEvents() or similar)
When you found where problem is, you can eventualy protect you function or callback to be called in only one instance by something like this: (not multithread safe)

Two tips about changed value of Ring:
a)if control callback return value 1 , some event is swallowed and control change its value back like before the user click.
b)maybe on some other place in program you call SetCtrlVal/SetCtrlAttribute with wrong panel handle/control value
It seems to me that you use "Tab" control, maybe it is related to it, do you corectly get panel handle by GetPanelHandleFromTabPage on all places? -
Tiger 10.4.5: Can't Hotsync my handheld with Entourage 2004
I have a Palm Tungsten E and in the past have had no trouble hotsyncing it with my Microsoft Entourage 2004 using the Conduit Manager that came with the application. But since I upgraded my OS to 10.4.5 last week, I can no longer hotsync. If I press the hotsync button on my Palm, it just hangs. I finally have to cancel, at which point an error message tells me that "the connection could not be established."
Once, and only once, I was able to hotsync this week by launching the Conduit Manager software in my Palm folder. But I have not been able to reproduce that result when I tried again. I've also tried different USB ports, to no avail.
The Microsoft website is mum about this problem, so I don't know if anyone else has a solution? As of now, I'm stuck.

iMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.5)Chuck- sorry, I though this was a Bluetooth problem. Anyway, I did spend some time (2 hours!) on the phone with Palm and the first thing they told me was that they were having problems with 10.4.5 and that I should download the latest version of Palm Desktop for my device. They also gave me instructions for deleting all existing PD stuff from my system (unfortunately I no longer have it- all files containing "palm", of course, plus some plists I wasn't familiar with).
I did the above and my USB sync works fine. Whether it would have worked before the reinstall but after the 10.4.5 upgrade I don't know.
You might try a reinstall of Palm Desktop, and if that doesn't work email Palm for the clean install procedure.

Can someone give any advice that will enable me to re-open Entourage 2004. I am using Tiger Mac OSX 10.4.11
My laptop (Powerbook G4) recently locked up and I had to do a power down to shut it down and then restart it. After that, I cannot open any Microsoft application.

I have a couple of quick & nasty questions.
First:
I need to know if it is possible to share information between Outlook 2003 on XP Pro, and Entourage 2004 on Mac OS X. If it is possible.....detailed instructions on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.
Second:
I also would like to know how to relocate the Entourage 2004 profile and mail to use a network drive rather than use the system drive on Mac OS X.

I logged on this morning and found that the whole of my Microsoft Entourage email program has been stripped. I've lost my address book, all my appointments in my calendar and all my notes. Is there any way I can get it all back. Is it still somewhere, hiding in my computer? Please help me someone!

As an aside, I would say that is not exactly the correct forum not least because it's not frequented that much.
Far better to have directed her to the iMac Usage forum or even the OSX Usage forum where there is a lot of traffic and questions regarding issues with third party software are more common.

HELP !!! Entourage 2004 wiped my emails!
Hi- Got one of those "Microsoft Update" auto messages on my laptop wanting update my Entourage 2004 app. I declined. Then when I launched all my emails, mail accounts, were gone? I looked for; MainIdentity.rge and found only one copy in my "User" folder.

There is a folder "mainidentity" - user/documents/micrcsoftuserdata/office2004identities/mainidentity
That is the correct path to your Entourage Database. Since the contents of that folder is missing, take a look at the following:

Within item 15. Identity has disappeared from hard drive, be sure to also click the link User Experiences about finding the database in an invisible folder "lost & found"
If that does not work, then copy the contents from a backup into the Main Identity folder. There should be four files: Database, Mailing Lists, Rules, and Signatures.

New to iphone need help with entourage and tasks

Just got my direct fulfillment iphone today. i am trying to get my entourage 2004 info to my iphone. By following:

I am using my personal iMac running leopard without mobile me. I can see my calendar and my contacts, but I can not figure where my tasks would even show up.
So, here are my questions:
1. Is there a better method for syncing this info?
2. should my tasks show up and where?
3. Do the same steps work with office:mac 2008? If not what is different?
4. Any other helpful info?Settings > Sounds > New Mail, make sure it's ON. Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Fetch New Data > set it to an interval such as Every 15 minutes. Your phone will check for new mail at that interval, and if there is new mail, your phone will sound an alert and vibrate.
You are accessing your account via POP (the only way to access Hotmail using the iPhone's mail app), so it cannot be 'linked' such that changes on one device are reflected on other devices - that's a function of IMAP email, and Hotmail does not support IMAP. -
Help with Entourage part of MS Office for Teachers and Students vs Airport
I can get on the internet via Airport, and can receive but cannot send messages from Entourage. However, I can get on the Cox Website and send messages that way. I can't find any informationa regarding MS Office for Teachers and Students in the long lists of discussions. Where am I going wrong?
I wrote this mesage to Microsoft and although they also responded I have not received the proper solution. Can Apple help?

Entourage works fine on cable, but not on Airport on a wireless
line. I have a pop.west.cox.net for receiving and smpt.west.cox.net
for sending which works fine on CABLE so following the advice on
Entourage help page has not been a help here in Mexico. The
administrator knows nothing about Apples, but says that Mac users have
similar problem which is related "security."

Have upgraded to itunes 11.0.1.12. Start itunes and it is closed with the message itunes closed to help protect computer data execution prevention has closed itunes. operating system is ms vista 32 bit. I have followed the procedures that I can find on the itune support site.

Can I change the default reminder list in the Notifications Center?
So far, the only list I can seem to display in the notification center is the default list called Reminders. Is there a way to set one of the other reminder lists I've created to display instead? Thanks in advance for your help!
