I am now looking to use ipads as viewing stations instead of laptops my problem is is that i dont know how to link everything up without the internet. icloud would be the best way but alot of hotels that i go to you cant get signal so that makes me stuck.

Has the speed ever been acceptable, or is this something new? Try resetting Safari and perhaps rebooting your router.

Need some help archiving and photos that are in multiple collections.
After creating a new catalog for photos from a collection, I'd want to remove the photos from Lightroom and keep on disk. In the collection, there are some photos that are in multiple other collections and I'd want to keep those images in their other collections and so not removed them from Lightroom.
Need some advice on how to easily identlfy those images that are in other collections and thus might not want to remove those images from Lightroom.Well, Bob, that works, but agreeing with Geoff, I don't think this is the best solution to the problem; in fact I don't even think this is a good solution to this problem.
If there isn't a lot of space left, and the user wants to do something about the photos in those collections, then the photos should be moved (in Lightroom, or via this process: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm) to a different drive. This generates more free space on the SSD drive. The photos remain in the Lightroom catalog, and they remain in the multiple collections that they are in now.
MrhoniKeith -- your photos probably should not go on the SSD in the first place. Photos ought to be stored on a normal hard drive, not an SSD. You can move them to a regular hard drive en masse, freeing up plenty of space on the SSD via this method: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm. This is the BEST solution to your problem -- keep everything in a single catalog, with photos on a normal hard disk. The idea of having multiple catalogs to help free up space on one drive works opposite to the best practices of using Lightroom, in which most people recommend using a single catalog for all of your photos, except in special cases where the photo's contents are completely non-overlapping, for example Personal and Business catalogs.
Removing photos from some collections but not others will NOT free up space. That's not how Lightroom works. Lightroom has not made multiple copies of your photos for each collection. Deleting photos from collections will NOT free up space. -
i have latest version of i tunes i.e. 11.2 and OS 7.1.1
but the photos are around 3000 in my laptop n only half of them i.e. 1500 and lesser are being syn to my iphone.

I have the iPhone 6 plus. I have no troubles sending and receiving text messages. I can also send pic messages but I cannot receive them. I have T-mobile and have been calling them for the past 2 months but the issue hasn't been resolved. Anyone has a similar issue, please help.

You may need to sign out of iMessage and sign back in as well as resetting the network settings. One other thing to check is to make sure that your friends did not get blocked from being able to send you messages.

I have inadvertently deleted over 600 photos to trash.
I would like to restore them either to the general photo list or move them to albums.
The deleted photos and videos all are intact but I don't know how to transfer them to a folder where I can use them.
I appreciate any help you can provide.iPHoto Trash? open the iPhoto trash, select the photos your want to restore, right click and "Put Back"
System trash? open the system trash and drag to a desktop folder - then import into iPhoto - once they are out of iPhoto and in the system trash there is no way to put them back into events and albums - you have to start over with them

MBP is overheating and I have no idea why, please help

In activity monitor, are you looking at "all processes"? Sometimes you can be looking at only your processes... To see what is eating up power, you need to see all processes then sort on CPU... You should see something that accounts for your 56%.
If AM doesn't work well you can do the same thing from terminal:
Open a terminal (command prompt)
At the prompt type: top -o cpu
The screen will clear and start to paint a list of processes. The biggest CPU users will be at the top. The first column will be the process ID, the second will be the short name of the process. Waht do you see? -
I have just bought the new iPad but can't see how I would sync all my iPhone photos that are stored on iCloud onto my iPad. Can someone help?
Photos on the camera roll can be included in an icloud backup from an iOS device (if camera roll is turned on). But getting the photos back from a backup is risky. Many users have performed restore operations from a backup only to discover the photos were not returned. icloud is primarily used to sync photos to other devices using photo stream - but only new photos taken after the stream is turned on in Settings>icloud will actually be synced, not old photos.
Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage, tap the device's name and on the next screen, be sure Camera Roll is turned on.
IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album). You can then sync the photos to the iPad.

Ok, so in had to do this to my iPad because it crashed. if you are okat restoring your phone, you need to put it into dfu mode.
1 Hold both lock and home button until screen goes dark
2 once I'd does, not immidietly but a little bit after (don't wait to long because it will restart) let go of the power button (still holding the home button)
3 hold old that for about 10 secs. Your phone screen will be black
4 plug into iTunes. iTunes will detect it and say "iphone in recovery mode" just press restore and if you have a backup, use that

Proxies, parental control settings and software, security or filtering software, or a bad iTunes Store cache can cause this.
To address proxies, Remove Internet Options proxy settings ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1490 ) and connect to the Internet without a proxy.
To reset iTunes Store cache:
In iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (PC).
Click the Advanced tab.
Click the "Reset cache" button.
Click OK and see if the issue is resolved.
Adjust Parental Controls in iTunes:
Open iTunes.
Access iTunes preferences:
On a Mac: From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences.
On a Windows PC: From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
Click the Parental Controls tab.
Remove restrictions on Parental Controls.

I'm new to the MAC world. I turned my computer on from 'sleep' mode, and a window was up stating that the IOS disk was full; asked me to force quit, then it just froze. It's been 2 hours. Help! I'm worried about losing photos/videos of my children. Im not sure if there's something special I need to do once I turn it back on; in the meantime, its still on... which I'm afraid the picture on the screen will burn into the screen. Does that happen on iMac's? Thx!
Try a hard reset. ( holding Power til it restarts)
Once to your desktop. Click the Apple icon >> About this mac >> More info>> Storage
Once you see what you have the most of. Try to see what you can delete.
Open up any folder>>all files>> or buy an external to store more data.
Once deleting make sure you empty your trash.
If you are new and its a new computer, you might need to bring it to a store for further assistence.

The many "failed" warnings that etrecheck sometimes spews mean nothing. Those warnings are not a reason to reinstall the OS, or to do anything else at all. They should be ignored.
The better your description of the problem, the better the chance of a solution.
For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.
