Help Import Export between different database interfaces ODI

Good morning!
I am new to ODI and would like to help me in the following doubts: I'm developing some interfaces in a database tests, it logically all my configuration connection is that bank.
When I import the interfaces in a database production, with another connection, I must reconfigure them totally, almost remaking them again? Or import, they automatically adjust?
I thank you
Emerson Formisano

Hi  Emerson,
I didn't get your point clearly.
Please write in a proper statement.
However I am telling you some checks and steps to export import.
1> Before importing the interface please check all the source and target data stores are present in the deployment environment (where you are going to import)
2> If not there Import the data stores first.
3> data source should be physically present in DB (in case of table)
4> If your data stores and KMs are available then you don't have to make the interfaces newly
Thanks

  • Import/Export between different Portal versions

    Hi, is there any resonable argument for not allowing imp/exp between different version? The thing is a developed a Page Group on a 9i AS and now need to export it to a 10g AS. It reasonable to think that an imp/exp machanism should exist, at least, for the latest version.

    Hi there,
    Yes, there is a reasonable argument for that and that is that the export code will be different from the import code. This means that alterations to the code in order to be more flexible or to even fix an issue, for example, on the export won't be in-place. Now when you'll try to import with the different code this certainly will clash your system (as the problem may already be within the DMP file that you've exported).
    Although your request does make sense the implementation part is not that easy to be done.
    I hope it helps you to better understand the constraints...
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Import objects between different SCV

    Hi,
    How can Import objects between different Software Component Versions
    Thanks

    Hi Sud,
    what do you mean by "import objects"? you mean swcv dependencies?
    you can make swcv dependencies in SLD.
    suppose if you have swcv x and y.if you want to access objects in x from y then in SLD select swcv y,in dependencies tab add swcv x.
    now all objects in swcv x are displayed under swcv y as <b>basis objects</b>.
    Please let me know if your requirement is different.

    I want to know how to do the following:
    export data from database 1 and then import the data to database 2
    I export user, without grants, with table data, without compress extents
    database 1:

    1. how to do it by using exp and imp command?
    2. Before exporting, what NLS_LANG should I set?

  • Remote exporting of a database interface

    I have an interface defining a database layer (all the following code has of course been simplified)
    public interface Database {
      public Collection select() throws Exception;
    }and an implementation class
    public class DatabaseImpl implements Database {
      public Collection select() throws DatabaseException {
    }Now, I wanted to be able to use this remotely as well, so I created an empty remote interface extending the Database interface as well as Remote:
    public interface RemoteDatabase extends Database, Remote {
    }and implement it like this:
    public class RemoteDatabaseImpl extends UnicastRemoteObject implements RemoteDatabase {
      DatabaseImpl databaseImpl;
      public Collection select() throws RemoteException, DatabaseException {
        return databaseImpl.select();
    }On the client side I created a DatabaseProvider which returns a remote or local connection depending on configuration parameters:
    public class DatabaseProvider {
      public Database getDatabase() {
        if (isRemoteConnection())
          return connectRemoteDatabase();
        else
          return connectLocalDatabase();
    }This works like a charm, but the generic "throws Exception" required on all the methods in the Database interface bothers me a lot. Without them I cant do the Remote extension, since that requires "throws RemoteException" on all the methods and I dont want to pollute the Database and DatabaseImpl classes with RemoteExceptions, so the generic Exception throws clause seems like the only solution. Optimally I would have liked the Database interface methods to simply throw DatabaseExceptions, such as RecordNotFoundException. I've spent quite a lot of time wrestling with this but haven't been able to come up with a "cleaner" implementation. So, I wonder if there is anyone here who could give me any pointers or suggestions on how to do this differently.
    With thanks in advance,
    Darri

    You would normally do this by having two implementations of the Database interface - one which accesses the database locally and one which access the database remotely. (This is equivalent to your 'if' statement - I always try and avoid conditional logic where possible).
    To get around the exception issue, you could wrap your remote implementation (which implements DatabaseRemote) with a wrapper which only implements Database. This wrapper could delegate all calls to the remote implementation and then decide how to deal with the RemoteExceptions that come back according to some (possibly pluggable) policy. Typically, you might retry select operations a few times before giving up. When you give up, you simply wrap your RemoteException inside a new DatabaseException and re-throw it.
    Like this:
    public class LocalDatabase implements Database {
        public Collection select() throws DatabaseException {
            try {
                jdbc.select(blah);
            } catch (SQLException e) {
                throw new DatabaseException(e);  // or whatever
    public class RemoteDatabase implements (err...) RemoteDatabase {   // you see what I mean here!
        public Collection select() throws DatabaseException, RemoteException {
            remote.select(blah);
    public class LocalRemoteDatabaseWrapper implements Database {
        public LocalRemoteDatabaseWrapper(RemoteDatabase remote) {
            this.remote = remote;
        public Collection select() throws DatabaseException {
            int retry = 3;
            while (true) {
                try {
                    remote.select(blah);
                    return results;
                } catch (RemoteException e) {
                    if (retry-- == 0) {
                        throw new DatabaseException(e);
    }

  • Transfer large data between two databases via ODI

    Hi, we want to transfer our 2 billion records (70gb) A database oracle server to B database oracle server via ODI LKM SQL to Oracle (SQLLDR).We use a filter like "prod_enter_date>sysdate-1" for daily  records(about 200.000).It takes about 1 our.How can we transfer data faster, thanks  for your advice.

    OK so assuming the Oracle DB's can see each on the network other have a word with your DBA's about creating a DBLink and test out the LKM DB Link KM.
    Also try Uli's amended LKM if dont want to be too intrusive on your souce system creating synonyms etc. : http://sonra.io/tag/lkm-db-links/
    I have used both and they work fine.
    Basically you are currently unloading a large amount of data, transfering to another location and then uploading that data with no transformation to the target environment, a DBLink LKM will transfer this data without the need to unload / upload , just the network transfer.
    Another thread here : https://forums.oracle.com/message/9630782
    To re-quote the that thread quoting the documentaion for that LKM : "As it says in the component description - "This module is recommended when developing interfaces between two Oracle servers."

  • Unit Test exports between different SQL Developer versions

    Hi,
    I am having problems with trying to export and import unit test suites between SQL Developer versions. I can't find any documentation in this area. We have a number of unit test suites exported as XML files from version 2.1.1.64, and below are combinations of things I have tried:
    - I have tried to import a unit test suite into version 3.0.0.4 that was exported from version 2.1.1.64 and get the error "Import failed. unexpected null value". I expect that this is probably an unsupported action due to repository changes between the two versions - should I be able to do this?
    - I have upgraded the repository with unit tests in it. The unit tests run perfectly well in the upgraded repository. However, if I try to export any suites or individual tests, I get an error "Export failed.". A XML file is created but with what looks like only the header part of it.
    - I have created a new unit test suite in version 3.0.0.4 and this exports successfully.
    - I have gone into each test of a suite in the upgraded repository and made a change so that I can perform a commit. When I do an export, this does then work successfully.
    Therefore it appears that something is not carried out by default when the repository is upgraded, but this fixes itself if the test is amended and committed in the upgraded repository. Although this may be a workaround, we have 100's of tests and is not something I really want to do. Has anyone else experienced this and got any recommendations for this?
    Thanks, Pierre.

  • Help importing/exporting AVCHD in FCP 6.0,6

    I have been having numerous problems in Final Cut Pro for the proper procedure on how to Export HD footage at its fullest quality. I shoot with a Sony NX5U and after im done exporting the footage, it always looks terrible. meaning that the footage is distorted and when i go to view full screen it almost looks like Standard Definition... Im not shooting without any gain on the camera so i know that cant be a factor in this case. My import settings are.. Sequence settings " Apple Pro Res (HQ) 422 1920 x 1080 30P" (for when im shooting 30p of course) Capture Preset "HDV Apple Pro Res (HQ)" when i export as a "quicktime movie" set to current settings it always looks bad! I have been messing around with this for a while and i cant seem to figure out what it is that i am doing wrong.
    Could it possibly be that i am using a older version of final cut that i dont have the current up to date capture preset/sequence settings?
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    we just bought a volume license and were shipped 6.0.1 studio. the AVCHD plug in at the panasonic site shows a 6.02 and a 6.03 version. I went to the apple FCP support downloads and do not see an update to 6.03 or 6.02. these are on new IMacs in a tv lab.

  • Help - Sharing media between different accounts on single iMac not working

    So, we have an iMac with 2 user accounts.  We wanted to simply share the media between accounts and I read these instructions from Apple Support which are very straightforward and easy enough to follow.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1203
    Basically, the article states you move the "iTunes Media" folder into the Public or other Shared file location and then you point each user account's copy of iTunes to that specific location for the iTunes media folder in preferences/advanced menu.
    All of that was very simple and worked great, but the only problem is on the 2nd user account when I re-open iTunes, none of that media is there.  I checked again inside the 2nd user iTunes preferences/advanced and it is definitely pointing to the right place.  Per the specific instructions in the article, I tried both ~/Public as well as the Users/Shared too - both times I can see it fine from the main account but nothing from the 2nd user account.
    Does anyone have any suggestions??  Thanks!

    Adam,
    iPhoto was not designed to be a multi-user application. While you can let other accounts view your photo collection by sharing, it gets messy when more than one owner has add and delete capabilities.
    Having said that, you could probably do a similar thing with the iPhoto Library folder as what you've described with iTunes. Refer to the iPhoto Help topic "Moving the iPhoto Library to a new location".
