Help in Defult Value
Hi Gurus,
I am trying to write a select statement in the default value part of the Bi Publisher parameter section .
E.g:
I have a parametr called Dept#
The default value i have written in the parameter section so that if i don't pass any value to the
Dept # parameter the report will take the value from default value .
My Default Vale :
" SELECT deptno from emp where depto=10 "
But the report doesn't recognize my select statement which i have written in the default value part
of the parameter section .
Please suggest me if there is any other syntex fro this or i am doing any thing wrong on it .

I initially tried the INSTR method, but it was taking far too long so I just stopped it.
I am now using the function and it seems to be working, however I am not sure how accurate it is.
I have tried running it with 2 in values, let's say "John:Scott" and it returns say 20 rows.
Now, if I run it with just "John", I get 10 rows and if I run it with just "Scott" I get 15 rows. This comes out to 25 rows so it's not matching up with the 20 rows I get when I use both in values.
Any ideas?

Hmm, just tested it again without using the function and just used
...in ('John','Scott') vs in('John') + in('Scott') and it's returning the same values as your function. So, I guess it's working properly :)
The INSTR method is also working now just as the function is. Not sure why it was taking so long before.

I need some help with NULL values and crosstables. My issue is the following:
I have a query (BW - MDX-Query) that gives me turnover measures for each month. In Crystal Reports I choose crosstable to display this whereby I put all month in columns and all turnover-measures in rows. Each month that has a value (measures are not empty) is chown in the crosstables rows. So far so good. The problem occures when there are month that actually have no values (measures are empty). In that case these months are not chown in columns. But I need CR to display these columns and show the value 0. How can I do that?Hi Frank,
Cross tab shows the data based on your column and these column fields are grouped and based on the group it will show your summaries.
If there is no data for any of your group it will not display that group. In this case you will have to create a standard report which should look like cross tab and to get zero values you need to write formulas .
Example if you want to display Moth wise sales :
if Month() = 01 Then
sum() else 0
Now this formula will check if your month is Jan, then it will sum up the values else it will display zero value.
This is possible only through standard report not with Cross Tab.

In our system i am able get packaging material when i press F4 after maintaing data in packaging tab.
When i create ASN then click on package button then click on Create HU and then go to Packaging material field and press F4 i am able to view packaging material data.
I am sure you have assign this material location to model 000 but just check.

To read the 'Input help with fixed values' of domain , you can use the function module : HR_P_GET_FIXED_VALUE_TEXT.
iIf you enter the domain name, you will find the fixed values entered in the domain.
These values are stored in a table DD07L(DD zero 7 L). Here the values are stored based on domain name.

Help with getting values from request. Very Strange!!

My very strange problem is the following.
I have created three dynamic list boxes. When the user select
the first list box, the second becomes populated with stuff
from a database. The third becomes populated when the second
is selected. Now, I have used hidden values in order for
me to get the selected value from the first listbox. The
following code is my first listbox:

At this time I am able to get the value of hiddenObject to populate
the second list box.
But, when the user selects an item from the second list box
and the second form is also submitted,
I lose the value of hiddenObject. Why is this??
The code to populate my second listbox is the following:

Please help!!Form parameters are request-scoped, hence the request.getParameter("hiddenObject"); call after the submission of the second form returns a null value because the hiddenObject parameter does not exist within the second request.
A solution would be to add a hiddenObject field to your second form and alter the onChange event for res_categories to read
document.hiddenform2.hiddenObject.value=document.1stvisibleformname.resources.option[document.1stvisibleformname.resources.selectedIndex].value;
document.hiddenform2.hiddenObject2.value = this.options[this.selectedIndex].value;
document.hiddenform2.submit();You will then come across a similar problem with your third drop-down if indeed you need to resubmit the form...
A far better approach would be to create a session scoped bean, and a servlet to handle these requests. Then when the servlet is called, it would set the value of the bean property, thus making it available for this request, and all subsequent requests within the current session. This approach would eliminate the need for the clunky javascript, making your application far more stable. -
Issue in custom search help for Suggest Value
Hi,
I have a requirement to have the suggest values pick up the records form any par of the string. Basically, using pattern. I have written the code in search help exit and it work in some cases and doesnt work for others.Eg. The result shows up for 123 but doesnt show for 1234, even though 1234 exists and it had showed up when i keyed in 123.
My select quest works fine and i can see the values in record tab but on the screen. What could be going wrong.

Need help getting a value from an XML column
Hi,
I need to get a value from an XML column in a table (the column is called TEST_XML). I have tried using the Select TEST_XML.value function but it always returns nulls. Could you please take a look at the following xml sample stored in the TEST_XML column
and help me with the query syntax to get the value of the Bank_Account_Number?.

hi..
i have a class Magazine with 2 varibles name and price like this

int price;
i have created a vector called selectedmag which stores objects of Magazine class... now each object will contain the name and price rite...
i want to print the values stored in vector ie i want to print the vector elements...like
Name: Mag1
Price: 10
which wil be present in object1...
and then
Name: Mag2
Price:15
which wil be present in object2...
and so on...
plz help...
if i give selectedmag.elementAt(position) i am not able to get the above output...plz help me.....

I`m trying to get value from my web.xml file into a jsp class. The problem is that the value always retur null. My web.xml file is replaced in the WEB-INF directory where should be. Here is my web.xml

Help with Reading values from static table in a .pdf file
Hi guys,
Pls try to clear this doubt of mine.
I basically have 2 files. Both are .pdf extension and they have tables in them. I need to compare certain values in one file with the corresponding values in the other table in the second file.
I need to do this programatically in c# . net
I have tried using packages like pdfbox and stuff which convert the pdf file into text. But cant I get the table as an object or something using which I can access the required rows and columns?
Also, these tables are static information. They are not a part of a form or anything like that.
Please help me with this.

I would like to know how to get a value in a string as an integer type
This is what I have so far

sum += c;
However the sum does not turn out to be 1+2+3+4+5 = 15 because the value of c will always turn out to be 48 more than it is supposed to be
for example when f = 1 then c would = 49
f = 2 then c would = 51

Enhancing standard (single select)search help for Multiple value selection
Hi,
Standard search help for Business Partner (in cProjects) allows only single value selection for input fields. I want to make this multiple selection.
Is there a way to do it.
I used an OVS and built a similar search but its difficult to get the standard options like saving to personal value list etc in it.
It would be good if there is a way to modify the standard search help to allow multiple selection. Any ideas??

Given that the WDA search help relies on these dictionary based searches, I'd think very much that you couldn't enhance it to return multiple. how you could even return multiple entries into a single UI element input field is also confusing to me.
I'd suggest creating a freely programmed value help, it would certainly take quite some effort to recreate those personal value lists etc, but it could be done - I don't like OVS, but that just me. -

Help to set value of an attribute based on value selected in another field

I want to set the value of an attribute STRUCT.ITM_TYPE to a default value whenever i select one of the value from dropdown list in LC_STATUS.
I tried to add an event in the get_p method of the lc_status but there i cant able to access the context of the ITM_TYPE as the fields are in different views.
