If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

That's correct. Dropbox does not handle Numbers 3.0 for Mac and Numbers 2.0 for iOS documents well at all. They will probably fix this.
But why are you using Dropbox for this? Numbers has built-in iCloud integration for the very purpose of syncing documents back and forth. It's much easier than using Dropbox even if Dropbox could handle the new Numbers format. And it's now quite reliable.
To enable iCloud with Numbers on your Mac:
In System Preferences>iCloud make sure you have Documents & Data turned on:
And after clicking Options, make sure you have checked Numbers.app:
On your iPad you need to make sure iCloud sync is turned on in TWO places:
Settings>iCloud>Documents & Data>Numbers
Settings>Numbers>Use iCloud
If you have entered the right iCloud credentials on your Mac and iPad, Numbers will then sync back and forth. It's much easier than putting in Dropbox and then having to Open in... , etc. You can of course still keep backup copies of your documents in Dropbox if you want.

The iPhone 4S comes automatically loaded with iOS 5, and any updates after iOS 5.0 can be completed directly from on the phone in Settings > General > Software Update. If you are having trouble using iTunes to update software, I suggest you reset iTunes so that you can pair your phone to the computer again, because if you can't see the serial number and capacity, that generally means your phone isn't paired. For any problems this doesn't fix, please contact Apple directly through their automated help line, 1(800)MYAPPLE. -
Help!!! New version of I-Tunes 10.5.3.3.3 for Windows 7 64bit.
Application exe freeze,s when trying to access the I-Tunes store.
While loading, the access to the I-Tunes store bar also freezes.
The application exe will not let you shut it down as total freeze results.... :-(
To escape the frozen applacation... . control/shift/delete is the only
way that works to get back to the desktop...I had a very similiar issue and this worked for me:

I just found a fix that has worked for many other users with the same 10.5.3.3 issue and it fixed a seperate issue where Apple Mobile Device service drives up CPU by 50-80%.
The fix is to open a command prompt as an Administrator and run c:\netsh winsock reset After running this commad you will need to reboot.

Although my account is the only Windows 7 account and is an Administrator, I still could not run the command above. I first had to open a Command Prompt as an Admistrator:
1) From the main Windows icon (bottom left Windows Flag), select All Programs
2) Then select Accessories
3) Then right mouse click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
4) execute "netsh winsock reset" and reboot
After performing the steps above, iTunes Store is working great and the CPU with iTunes loaded is averaging less than 10%....A MIRACLE!!!! -
I recently upgraded to the newest version of iPhoto. I used to have version 7, I believe. Now that I have updated I can no longer see my pictures. I downloaded the upgrader but I don't know what to do next. Please help!
Go to your Applications/ Utilities folder. Finder the upgrader app. Double click it to run it.

When Creative Cloud updated a few days ago (Win7) it reported I had no installed apps.
In Lightroom I keep getting messages that a new version is available. Installed it from CC and it installed without error, CC shows I installed it, but it simply fails to run.
How do I get CC to find apps installed under the previous version?
And how do I get Lightroom CC to run?
PeterI still don't know how to get CC to find that I have Photoshop CC installed, but running Creative Cloud, going to Preferences and signing out, then signing in again got Lightroom CC to work.
Since Photoshop CC is still working despite apparently not being installed things are now OK, at least for the moment. But I'm not feeling at all happy with Adobe. -
With the new version of numbers, 3.0, how can I stop the document from moving horizontally? When I scroll up or down I find it annoying that the document might shift to the left, and then I have to scroll it back to the right. The only way I've found to stop it from moving horizontally is by reducing the document down to about 50%, but then I can't read the document. I prefer having the document set at 125%, but then the bottom horizontal scroll bar shows up, and then the document can shift to the left if I'm not exact with my scrolling up or down.

When I try to sync my iPad and iPhone it will get within the last 3 pictures then stop giving me an APPCRASH error message. Then iTunes will shut down. No matter what I do to increase or decrease the number of pictures it always stops 3rd from the last.

Unable to download itunes 10.5. Gets to 99% downloaded & then stops!
I've been trying to download itunes 10.5 onto a computer that runs windows 7 & another one that runs windows xp several times over the last couple of days. Each time it gets to 66.4MB of 66.7MB downloaded & then stops.
Does anyone have any ideas how to get it downloaded as I cannot fully enjoy my Iphone 4s without thisYou should be able to download itunes from apple website or from other sites. Uninstalling it and then reinstalling a newer version is completely logical.

No, once a user has been created, you can't run Setup Assistant (without erasing and reinstalling).

Here's what's happened:
When you first start up a Mac and create the first user account, OSX assigns it UID (User ID) #501. The next one gets #502, etc. Those UIDs (not the user name) are what control permission to files.
You can see those numbers via System Prefs > Users & Groups; click the padlock and enter your Admin password, then select an account and right-click it, and select Advanced Options. Do not change anything on that window.
So . . . assume your old iMac had a user 501 with the data you want; it's identified that way on the backups.
When the Apple Store started up your new Mac, and created their account, it became #501.
When you used Migration Assistant to transfer the 501 account from the iMac's backups, OSX copied everything there "as is" except it had to change the 501 to 502.
The new 502 account has all the right permissions to things now in it's home folder, but the backups belong to user 501.
Have you added much to the Mac since you did the migration? Have you done any new backups? If not, while it's a bit of a hassle, one fix would be to create yet another user account temporarily. Make it an Admin account. Log on to it and delete all the other accounts. Then migrate the accounts from your backups; this time there won't be a conflict, so OSX won't have to change the UUID(s).
But if you have done new backups, this won't work, since Migration Assistant automatically uses the most recent backup. There's a way around that, but it's a bit (or more) tedious.

Pixlemator had less than a minute to finish downloading, then stopped. I go to the purchase page and it says install. When I click on install it says there was an error and tells me to go to purchase page.
Try deleting the cache associated with the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store and try re downloading the app.
If that didn't help, open Sysem Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Select: Mac App Store and identified developers
If that area is greyed out, click the padlock icon to make changes. You may be prompted for your admin password.
Then try downloading the app.
