Hi I need help coding a contact form. I have the
website finished and all i need to do now is code the contact form. I don't lnow what to do when it is in Flash
builder. Help and syggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Making a Contact Form w/ Flash 5
Hi,
I searched the site first and did find a downloadable
pre-made contact form that works with Flash, but I don't know that
it will work with my ancient version since it uses PHP to mail the
form. I use flash for drawing more than anything and don't know a
whole lot about actionscript. I'm building a new website however,
and would like to include a flash form for people to contact me
through rather than email. I assume this can be done with Flash 5
using some sort of send form action but I could use a little help
in figuring this one out.

I Need Dire Help Making a Flash Form
Hello, I need some serious help creating a Flash Form.
I Have used a template from another site with the following
input boxes:

However, i had the script working fine, along with its php
script,
when i was trying to add more "text" boxes, i must have
messed the script up somhow.
When I submit that form, the name is send and email, but the
email is blank.. ie, there is no "comments"

Ive spent days and days trying to work out how to first make
a form that actually works, then add more text fields
Ive looked at many basic form tutorials, but they all seem to
only have 3 or 4 text fields.. Name, Email, Comments... etc
I haven't a clue how to edit the script both in action script
and php to add more fields easy.
I really need some help with this, its turning into a
nightmare for me.
I can provide someone with my .fla project file if they care
to take a look at what im doing wrong.

ps. Please note: "$sendTo = "[email protected]";" =
this line i know i must put in my own email.This is all about timelines. It seems there is a movieclip
named 'form' (or possibly an actionscript object, can't tell). Any
variables created on that timeline are sent.
So you could have your new textfields on another timeline.
Or you could have textfields with no instance name in the
form timeline.
Those are the first two things to look at. Post the FLA and
we can tell you more specifically. -

Need help with PHP contact form
Hi guys,
I've made a PHP contact form for my site and need help with a couple of things:
The form action links an external PHP script (scripts/contact-form-script.php) but is there a way I can have it so the PHP script for the form is contained within the same PHP file as my contact form (contact.php)?
I tried just putting the form code at the top of contact.php but the browser automatically reads the anti-spam re-direct, so maybe that needs revising too?
The second thing is, how can I make the Name, Email and Message fields mandatory? So if a user tries to submit the form and hasn't filled in one of the required fields and clicks submit, contact.php reloads with a message at the top of the form saying something like 'Complete the required fields' and highlights the relevant field with a red border?

How to get a contact form working on OS X Server 10.8?
Since PHP's mail() function does not seem to work on OS X Server (Mountain Lion), I was wondering what other ways there are to use a contact form for our website.

You are going to install PEARL wwithin php on the server and then download a package called PERL::Mail with all its dependencies:

Step 1

I was testing this on my local dev machine and not the server and kept getting a "need FQDN name for host" reject. I added a "localhost" variable to my dev machine FQDN and all was well. I'm just telling you this if you test on a machine that IS NOT the the smtp server host.

The form action="form_send.php" - basically save the code to a Dreamweaver document named form_send.php and send the information back to the page to be processed.

I built a form in Dreamweaver CS4 which looks and seems to work fine both in IE and FF. I then wrote the PHP script and uploaded it to my hosting site. When I fill in the form on the web, I get my "thank you" email stating I will contact them in 24 - 48 hours. I also get this from the hosting site - This email was sent using the PHP mail() function. If you received this email than the PHP mailer is working fine. With all that said my problem is that I do not get a copy of the form details. On the properties section in Dreamweaver, I have the Form ID as contactus and Action connecting to my folder - ../Contactform.php, but I have the target blank. What would it be - blank, parent or self or should it just be black?

For a form, when you begin it, you need to tell it what's going to happen:

(And, actually, I don't recommend the use of upper and lower-case characters in any file that is to be called by a web server, bu that is not related to your issue.)
Then, you will have an action button at the bottom of your form:
<input type="submit" value=" Contact Me" />
When that action button (or submit button) is activated on your web page, it should query the form for what to do. In the case that I'm outlining here, the action is to run the php file you have called Contactform.php.
At that point, your php code takes over and will do something.
In your php, do you have something like this?

You cannot have multiple instances of identical ids in a Web page.
Try this.
Decide ahead of time whether you want to use PHP or ASP for the action attribute.
Decide ahead of time whether you want to use GET or POST for the method attribute.
Create a new page in DW according to your chosen action attribute (and the path to an existing script to process this action).
Create a new form in that page and fill in the action and method attributes as appropriate.
Create your input controls and your button controls, giving them names, ids, and possibly labels. The names & ids may need to match whatever your script is expecting to see (I don't read asp).
