Help me find the right processor for my HP Laptop
I have an Hp dv7-6111sz (LZ664EA) All info are here : pavilion_dv7_6111sz_lz664ea
I want to upgrade the stock cpu, everythung seems good in my Laptop but the CPU... im using the laptop for gaming, tested things and realized that my CPU is overnecking my GPU, So please what do you advice me? should I upgrade my cpu? if yes how and where to find better CPU? if no.... hmm why not? what are disadvantages other than over heating??...
And another thing, im not sure but is my hardware looks for gaming? I'm playing high-end games like Watch dogs and Assassin's Creed 4... hmm 20fps on medium settings, I think those games are poorly optimized, idk. What do you recommend, should I buy a new Laptop? I want it for gaming so what do you advice? thanks

Trying to Find the Right Phone for Me

I'm thinking of switching to a BlackBerry, and could use a bit of help finding the right phone for me. I've browsed through them, but so far haven't been able to find what I'm looking for (and I'm not able to find out which phones have UMA or not in the compare section).
Provider isn't important, as I'm fine changing my service.
I'm looking for a phone that is:

Can Someone Help Me Find The Right KVM?
I have a tough set-up and I'm finding the search to be overwhelming. I'm hoping someone who's been through this before can help me find the best KVM for my needs. Here's what I have:
Apple Dual 553mHz G4
• Upgraded dual montior video PCI card (ADC and DVI ports)
Apple G5 QUAD
• Stock dual DVI ported video PCI Express card
Monitors
• 2 Apple 17" displays (ADC)
• 1 Wacom 18" Display (DVI)
I also have 1 Apple DVI to ADC Display Adapter
Can I find a dual monitor KVM to use between these 2-machines and leave the third monitor on the G5 only? How about 3-monitor KVM? What are my options here? I'm so confused by all of this.
i really want the G5 to be able to use all three monitors at once. It doesn't matter to me how many the G4 gets. If the KVM doesn't work I'm just going to suck it up and buy a second video card for the G5 (and DVI adapter) and run all 3 monitors on the G5 and use Remote Access for the G4.with respects to the dual DVI KVM... there are a couple of options out there.
as far as 3 monitor KVM, there really are no such products, however, there are DVI matrix swtiches that will allow you to manually (or through presets) switch any input to any output, to include mirroring monitors on various inputs. however, with anything DVI, there may potentially be hot switch issues with resolution and synch, handshake, peripheral control, etc...

sorry to just shoot a bunch of links to you. in my experience, i've generally just used VGA for KVM setups and also there are many pitfalls with compatibility in certain setups that are almost impossible to avoid without trial and error and blind luck. -
cant find the right forum for this but as i am having problems booting my macbook pro, keep having to reser pram etc and now wont boot at all.....
aill this theoretically work?
a. Restore entire macpro hard drive from time machine to a time over a year ago before problems started
b. Restore more recent individual files such as logic projects individually from same time machine backup
c. install any programs manually again only couple of vsts
please answer direct question as i have tried everything else and nonhardware problems just will no longer boot after months of reseting each time

Help with choosing the right specifications for a Macbook Pro Retina?
Opinions needed....
So I'm new to Macs, but I know what I want to achieve and I feel this is the right route to choose. I'm looking at delving into the world of music production, using Logic pro 9 and garageband, but I also enjoy watching High definition Movies and televison so I know that the Retina display is definatley the right choice for me. However, I'm unsure on the amount of RAM & Which processer I should choose. I have read a fair bit on forums and online about the new retina macbooks being 'locked' from upgrading, so the 16GB of RAM is an immediate choice for logetivity.
The choice of processor is when I start to become clouded in my choice. As forementioned, I'm looking at running logic pro, as well as high def movies. There is also a possibilty at looking into photo and video editing, Whether that be in final cut pro or photoshop... But I want to leave my options open.
I think the choice of 16GB of RAM, 2.6Ghz processor, with a 256GB hard drive ( as i have 1.5TB external space) would be a good choice. Once I've added on applecare that comes out at around £2350, Which is a significant investment, but one that I think will help me immensely for the future. I am interested in other peoples opinions on my possible choice because, as I said before, I'm new to the world of Macs and making the right choice is essential. As a side note, the choice of upgrades also ensures a reasonable resale value, which is a bonus.
RegardsBoth power adapter I have are different (at the magnet end) from the one in link.
Earlier adapters have T shaped connectors, which Apple later changed to the L shape, presumably to make them more abuse-proof. Either one is fine and the one you are using will not damage your Mac.
Retina MBPs and new MBAs use a completely different MagSafe 2 connector which will not fit (without an adapter). -

Help in finding the total count for each month
Hello everyone,
Sometime back I had posted about the date function. I have that problem solved now my problem is that after finding all records which against each record I need to find the total count for that month if no records than I have to set it to a 0.
Here is how my program has been written.
PROCEDURE extract_materials
IS
CURSOR xyz
BEGIN
FOR xyz1 IN xyz LOOP
-- once inside the loop for each of the record from
the cursor I need to find a total count for that record for everymonth in the year.
All these records will be instered in to a staging table
Can you please help me out with this. I really appreciate this.

You need to do an outer join to a select from any big table with a function involving rownum and add_months to generate all the possible months. However, its time to go home and I can't be bothered to work out the finer details. -

Hello, it's famke again...Still trying to find drivers.. My sound card is apparently also missing drivers... I've tried many drivers from different sites matching the information i've taken off the card...but for some reason i always get a big red slash through my audigy sound control panel after trying to install the driver and reboot my system... I'm convinced i haven't been able to find the correct driver... The information off the card is...Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS M:SB0350... If anyone can help out i would greatly appreciate this...Famke.

Help - Final Cut the right option for making self-playing presentations
Hi There,
I'm been in a horrible place trying to export a presentation made in Keynote 2 into Quicktime. This presentation has audio embedded in the presentaion (not as an object on the slide) and also has quicktime movies on the slides. The movies have vector images building in and out that is supposed to follow along with the audio and video.
The long and the short of it is, it doesn't work for what I want it to do.
Keynote can't:
A) set any timings that are accurate in any way
(i need to have visualks sincing with an audio narration)
B) can't export either at all at times or with any accuracy to QT.
I need to be able to make QTs so they can be:
A) made into steaming files that would be available online
B) input into a DVD so they can viewed on a television.
I know I attempted a cheat by trying to go about this through Keynote and it has failed. Now I have to figure out what will work, learn the app and rebuild the keynote files in the right program.
Is final cut what I want? is express enough? Is there a presentation sofware out there that works? I was also told motion may be necessary? I know there is a strong possiblilty I was using the wrong piece of software for what I want to accomplish. I am will be willing to make the investment if I know it will be succesfull.
I'm really at a loss and need advice to assist in making the right decisions to move foward. Help! and Thank You.All these applications will take some time learning to use effectively. I'd suggest you spend the time learning them before you tackle a project in earnest.
The full version is a bit more complex to learn because there are many more settings and options, which aren't available in FCE, and which may make it more daunting. The applications themselves behave very similarly, and anything you learn in FCE will apply to FCP.
I'm an Apple certified Final Cut and Motion trainer. Is Motion overkill? Can't answer that for you. It is very easy to use and to get going and be productive. It also comes with excellent templates. If you get Studio you get LiveType as well, and all the applications integrate easily, LiveType to Motion to FCP and any combination of that. I like LT a lot, but Motion is fun to use too, very dynamic in what you can create in real-time on the fly. It does require horsepower though, lots of RAM and a fast graphics card. You might find it a bit bogged down on a PowerBook as the project gets more complex. Motion is really designed for short pieces, motion graphics elements, opening titles, interstitials, not for doing whole programs. -

Finding the right resolution for MBP to projector
Hi there,
I have a lecturer who uses a MBP 15" to project powerpoint slides and him using circuit modelling software.
What I've noticed is the whole setup is quite cumbersome:
eg:
The projected image is not wide screen like the MBP (i am guessing the projector is at 1024x768)
This means when he runs a simulation for eg. the output pops up in it's own window, and usually off the visible screen on the projector.
needless to say, he spends alot of time awkwardly resizing windows and shifting them around just to illustrate a basic point.
My question is, if I help him resize the resolution so his MBP matches the projector, will the MBP switch back to native when he unplugs it? Will the MBP remember the projector settings next time, and resize automatically when he plugs it in, or will he have to fiddle with resolutions everytime he plugs it in? ( if so, shame on you apple!)
If so, does anyone know of a utility out there that would make this process easier? ie Detect that the projector is connected/disconnected and change the resolution accordingly.
Thanks for your help - it's difficult watching him fiddle as the proj screen is behind him and he has to turn around to see what's acutally visible to the class! It should be easier than that - it's an Apple!
Mac Book Pro Mac OS X (10.4)Hi
I have the same issue - when I'm presenting, most of the time I use the customer's projector, so I have no idea what resolution it will be. My MBP 17" widescreen generally offers me different resolutions after the autodetect, but they're either larger than the projector display, or half the slides are missing on the right hand side.
Is there a way to choose other resolutions?
