help me .

IF the Endian of your source and destination databases is the same:
Maybe you could pre-create a new, empty, 10.2 database on the destination host.
Create very small Tablespaces with SAME NAMES as source.
Create profiles & roles.
Create all Non-DBA user accounts (with permissions, passwords & quota's as required).
Delete the small tablespaces.
Use TRANSPORT TABLESPACE methodology to copy tablespaces from source DB to destination DB.( Can this step be done in 2 hours?)
Using an EXPORT from source DB of all Non-DBA schema's (rows=NO) , do an Import to destination DB(rows=no,indexes=no) to setup appropriate grants of tables/views/roles to subordinate users and roles.
(This should be a quick import as no rows are being loaded or indexes created. These will already be present from the Transported tablespace metadata import.)
If all is well on the new host, update DNS application alias, with IP of new host.
Assumption:
a) 2 hosts are involved ( you don't expect to update the OS in the same 2 hours do you?)
b) DNS aliases are used for applications, and 'host=' uses these DNS aliases in the client PC's tnsnames.ora files.

    Hello nicky:
You should run repair disk from your software install DVD before you try anything else. The crash may have damaged some of your directories - and a possible cause of the "missing/not missing" tunes.

  • Need help in migration from Layer2 to layer3

    HI Guys
Need u r help in migration from layer2 switched network to layer3.
here is the setup there are 9 sites connected with a 10gig backbone in a ring.each site has a 6513 but at the data centre site we having two 6513.we are having a combination of voice and data vlans.at present all the sites are connected with layer2 trunks.all the trunks are teminated at the core ie datacentre site.so how should i procedd and what are the advantages of it ie migration.
    Thanks
    Mahmood

For this migration you first need to assign IP addresses to your connections between switches. This could be /30 (or /31, if supported) subnets. You should also consider running some dynamic routing protocol such as OSPF between switches.
    Hope this helps.

  • Help With Migration From Exchange 2007 To Exchange 2013

We have an Exchange 2007 Server with Service Pack 3 and Rollup 12 applied.
I installed a new Exchange 2013 Server and then immediately applied CU3.
I am following this Technet article:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2013/07/25/part-1-step-by-step-exchange-2007-to-2013-migration.aspx
The only deviation from the instruction I have had to do is in Part 2, section 4 “Configure offline address book (OAB)”.
    Instead of entering:
    Get-MailboxDatabase | Set-MailboxDatabase -OfflineAddressBook "\Default Offline Address Book (Ex2013)"
    I had to enter:
    Get-MailboxDatabase | Set-MailboxDatabase -OfflineAddressBook "\Default Offline Address Book (Ex2012)"
I believe this is due to the fact that the writer installed from an Exchange 2013 CU1 disk and I only had Exchange 2013.
Also when I tried to run:
Move-OfflineAddressBook -Identity "Default Offline Address Book" -Server SRV-EX2013
    I get the following error:
Move-OfflineAddressBook : Failed to create the 'ExchangeOAB' folder on the target server 'SRV-EX2013'. Two possible reasons for the failure are that the System Attendant Service is not running or you do not have permission to perform
    this operation. Error message : 'Catastrophic failure (Exception from RESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))'.At line:1 char:24+ Move-OfflineAddressBook <<<<

    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 9250969C,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConfigurationTasks.MoveOfflineAddressBook
However when I looked at the address books in EAC I could see that “Default Offline Address Book (Ex2012)” was the default and that it contained a copy of the Global Address List. So I did nothing else about it.
I am now at Part 3, section 7 “Move Mailboxes” and it keeps failing.
I am using the EAC so that I at least see the error as using the powershell brings back no results.
Anyway it Syncs the 18 items in the mailbox then fails with:
    Data migrated: 936.7 KB ‎(959,145 bytes)‎
    Migration rate: 0 B ‎(0 bytes)‎
Error: MigrationPermanentException: Error: An error occurred while updating a user object after the move operation. --> Unable to generate the e-mail address. Unable to load address module ‎'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Mailbox\address\SMTP\AMD64\inproxy.dll‎'

    Help??
    Tony

    Hi,
You can't configure Exchange 2013 to generate other OAB versions, and the OAB generation occurs on the Mailbox server on which the organization mailbox resides. Therefore, to move OAB generation in Exchange 2013, you must move the organization mailbox. You
can only move the OAB generation to another Exchange 2013 mailbox database. You can’t move OAB generation to a previous version of Exchange.
And please refer to the following articles :
    Moving OABs between Exchange versions
If you want to upgrade from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013,I recommend you refer to the following article:
Upgrade from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013
    Exchange   version
    Exchange   organization coexistence
    Exchange 2007
Supported with the following   versions of Exchange:
Update Rollup 10 for Exchange        2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3) on all Exchange 2007 servers in the
    organization, including Edge Transport servers.
Exchange 2013 Cumulative        Update 2 (CU2) or later on all Exchange 2013 servers in the
    organization.
Install Exchange 2013 in an Existing Exchange 2007 Organization
You can install a Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 server into an existing Exchange Server 2007 organization, and then move the Exchange resources, such as mailboxes, public folders, and connectors, to Exchange 2013. However, you can't perform an in-place
upgrade from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.
    Hope this helps!

  • Please help me migrate back to iTunes...

    Hello,
I have been an iTunes user some years ago - and now want to go back, but I have questions and trouble. Please assist...
Since iTunes could not handle my growing library (then 50.000, now 100.000 tracks) on my old computer (tragically slow...) I migrated my whole library to MediaMonkey. I felt like in heaven. What a much more flexible database that is, with LOTS of pleasant editing and grouping options.
But now, after a few years MediaMonkey the heaven became ****: it keeps messing up my library data, merges parts of tracks from different songs, attaches wrong art work to songs etc. etc.
Conclusion: iTunes is much more rigid and edit-unfriendly, but also more reliable and stable. And the newer version works faster with big libraries.
So today I took the final step to start going back to iTunes, version 11.0.1.12 now.
    I experience the following problems:
    1. Around 8.000 of my MediaMonkey (MM) tracks have not been imported. Why not?
    2. Most of the MM comments do not appear in the IT comment fields. Why not? Where are they? Why can some be imported, others not? Can I redo it, maybe with the help of MP3Tag, that I came across in the past?
    3. A few hundred (maybe more) tracks have a ! on the left of the title, meaning that the corresponding file can not be found. Why not? If I try to locate it manually it is always there (with the 10 tracks I 'relocated' so far). So why can't IT find them?
4.As I remember IT had a song/track list view with a separate sqaure window in the left hand bottom corner of the cover art of the playing song . But I cannot find how I can get that back. Now I only see a thumbnail in the top player, on the left of the playing title. Or is my memory wrong, did only MM have such 'cover art window'? If IT has such window as well, how to re-create it?
    5. Does iTunes STILL have no proper option to store 'multiple artists or genres' in one field? In MM I could store a certain duet as 'Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli' - using the comma as a separator between two individual artists. Same as with genres: 'classical, instrumental, romantic'. But in spite of popular requests IT still seems to 'merge' such combinations as one artist (called 'Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli') etc. Am I correct? Any hope for improvement at this point?
    6. Is there a way to view the number of tracks in the total library? Or the number of selected items?
    7. Any hopes that multi-track-editing will be made possible soon? So that I do not have to add 'The Messiah' in the front of each individual track title of that work?
    8. Do iTunes developers publish anywhere there plans for future enhancements? So that customers can see what is in the pipeline?
    Thanks for help!
    Greetings,
    Wim

Question 6 has been answered by myself: I found back how to view the status bar with the number of (selected) tracks.

  • Need help in Migration of data !

We developed a application using Apex and currently it is going through client testing.
There is one challenge at client side; there are some third party legacy inventory systems at client side where there is data stored in databases like Paradox, SQL server, XML the customers have been using them for last 10 to 15 years.
Now there is some amount of data where they enter into those system; we want to extract some of the data and show in our application. Ours is a hosted On Demand application we need to migrate the data from the client machine and push into our server so that they can view the data online. And we want to run a scheduler every day to extract the data .
Do you have any idea how we can do this in APEX or any tool that can support our need.
Did you hear about spectral.com (full convert)
I really appreciate your help on this.

    Hi,
it is not too difficult to load data into a database using only Apex tools, but the problem with this is that it can't be completely automated, as at some stage, a user would have to do a manual file upload.
In order to achieve completely automated upload you would need access at a lower database and database server O/S level as well as have direct connectivity between your Apex server and the legacy source systems. As your Apex system is a "hosted On Demand application" you may be severely limited in your access at those levels.
Depending on your access, you would typically extract and load data from other non-oracle sources using technologies like Oracle's heterogeneous Gateways or third party odbc connectivity and use database links. Or you could automate files to be dropped from the legacy systems to somewhere that is accessible to the destination system where it could be loaded using tools such as SQL Loader or External Tables. This could be scheduled using tools such as cron or dbms scheduler.
I know this is very general, but I hope it points you in the right direction.
    Regards
    Andre

  • Urgent Help--Mass Migration of Reports to 10g

    Hi All,
We have about 350 reports that we want to migrate to 10g. Is there a way to migrate them all using a batch program or some tool instead of opening them one by one in the reports developer?
    PLEASE HELP URGENT.
    Thank a lot in advance.

Okay, I see. The supported migration path from Reports 2.5 to 9i, is to first migrate to 6i & then to 9i/10g.
    Please check this Metalink Note 90026.1 "Migrating Reports V2.5 --> V3.0 --> V6.0"
You might also be able to use rwconverter (in 6i I think the binary is called rwconv60) instead if Reports Builder:
    rwconverter userid=scott/tiger@oracle batch=yes
    source=<reportname> stype=rdffile DTYPE=REPFILE OVERWRITE=yes logfile=log.txt overwrite=yes
You can write a batch-file to convert all of your 350 Reports.

  • Need Help with Migration...Please

    Hello,
I need help!  I just bought a new MacBook Pro.  In house, I have a two year old iMac running Mavericks (all updated) and an iPhone and iPad (both running the most current OS).  I also have the iMac connected to a Time Capsule.  Here are my questions:
    1.  As I am not replacing the iMac, but rather adding a MacBook Pro to the mix, should I migrate the software, settings, files, etc. from the iMac to the MacBook?  Is there an issue running computers which are clones in the same environment?  Is it a bad idea to migrate?
    2.  Assuming # 1 is okay to migrate, what is the best way?  Is it best directly from the iMac or from the Time Capsule?  I do have a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter on hand.
    3.  Is there a link that would help me navigate the migration?
    4.  How long should the migration in #2 take?
    5.  Will I need to change any settings on the iMac, iPhone, or iPad afterwards?
    6.  Will my contacts and calendar sync with iCloud automatically, or do I have to change a setting on the MacBook to make that happen?
    7.  Also, as I'm leaving town tomorrow and want to take the MacBook Pro with me and I'm unsure I've the time to Migrate and tweak, can I jus turn on the MacBook (still not turned on), use it as it is, and then migrate when I get back home?
Any help would greatly be appreciated.  Thank you!

  • Help with migrating from PPC G5 to MacBook Pro 2012

I haven't even booted up my new MacBook Pro, because a lot of postings in Discussions and elsewhere warn me of problems if I try to use Migration Assistant to bring my user data and files across from a PPC Mac to a new MacBook Pro running Lion.
BORING DETAILS:  I'm jumping from a dual G5 Dual Power Mac (PPC, running Leopard 10.5.8) over to a 2012 MacBook Pro, (a 15" fast i7 quad non-retina, with 1 GB GPU and 16 GB RAM, running latest Lion). I have a lot of data and apps, including "pro apps" like Final Cut and lots of photo- and video-production software.
I know that I'll need to reinstall all my apps from scratch, even Universals, especially all my Pro apps. But, I have read some positive guidance about possibly using Migration Assistant to move only my User identity and related files across to the MBP. Then, reinstalling / upgrading apps. And, afterwards, using Firewire (target mode) to move various data folders and docs.
I'm confused. I like the idea of moving myself as User/admin across, relatively intact -- IF that's a good idea -- then reinstalling apps. Then, moving various files (docs andand data) across. Hopefully, this route wind up with minimal or zero PERMISSIONS  problems. Guidance or links, pretty please...?
I've read the great postings from Kappy and some others, in Discussions, but most don't address the issue of moving User identity and data from the PPC Mac over to the Intel. Maybe it's a "big" issue only in my mind?

Joshua Coventry and sig and others:
    Thanks!
If you combine those last two pieces of advice and mix in the best of the earlier suggestions, that's pretty much what I wound up doing:
I used Setup Assistant to create a "NewGuest" account on the MacBook Pro, with minimal information submitted to Apple (basically, only my correct name and address, etc.). Then I immediately used the Migration Assistant to bring over ONLY 1) my main User admin account and its Home folder and 2) the computer settings from the G5 Power Mac.
Finally, I changed the "NewGuest" to a regular account (non-admin), rebooted the MPB, and deleted NewGuest and its home folder. Then began the long job of feeding appropriate software into my new MBP: installing or reinstalling the latest Intel versions of all of my key productivity apps and utilities.
So far, I'm getting very good results. No MBP indigestion, but it's daunting to look at a new Dock that's now almost totally populated by question marks (the G5's Dock had almost fifty apps)! There's one major benefit: a chance to reconsider whether I really needed all of that stuff to begin with, and if I need it now!
The need-it-now vital stuff is being pulled over via Firewire, and I've just bought an external USB 3 enclosure for the G5's main boot drive, and it will now be available as a handy source for various files, docs, settings as I need them, and for any "second thoughts" that I might have about what really belongs on the MacBook Pro's boot disk. All is well, and it looks like it will STAY well (but stay tuned!).
Thanks, y'all! Hope this helps someone else facing a similar challenge.

  • Need help w/migration

Hi, thanks in advance for any advice you can provide on my circumstances:
I have a Rev A Macbook Air running Snow Leopard 10.6.8
I have also just bought a new MacMini that was just released a couple weeks ago, w/Lion pre-installed.
I tried (w/Migration Assistant) to move everything over.  Everything has moved over (my files, that is) but my Music, Mail, Photos etc are not showing up, either in their respective apps, nor as individual files. The HD space on the new Mac has decreased by the same amount that has moved over (60GB), so I assume those files made the transfer, even though they are nowhere to be seen.
Please note that I had not installed the Migration Assistant upgrade prior to starting transfer... saw this after I'd done everything, and have now installed it on the Macbook Air, but fear it's too late/after the fact.
It seems I have two options (with your help):
    1) Find the source files, and find the relevant directory lists, then place the in the right spot on the new Mac;
    or
    2)     Totally reinstall Lion (and wipe out everything, which would include the old files that have transferred over). I haven't yet used the new Mac Mini so am not worried about totally wiping it and starting over.
Can you please let me know what you think? Option 2 is my preferred option, so that everything finds its way into the right place but I don't know how to wipe the entire Mac Mini and start again. I do know how (and have) reinstalled Lion via Recovery Mode, but it left all the previously transferred files intact -- it didn't wipe them all, just reinstalled system software.
    thanks very much

    johnfuhr wrote:

That's the problem with using Migration Assistant instead of Setup assistant when your new Mac first starts up;  you end up with an extra user account, and the accounts you transferred may lose permission to their files on other disks, especially backups.
Look in System prefs > Users & Groups; the transferred user accounts should be there. Log on to it/them and you should see your stuff.
If everything is there and working, and you don't have files on any other disks, you can just delete the account you first set up and use the one(s) you transferred.
If you do have files on other disks, post back with details -- what's on those disks?

  • Help on Migration from Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.0 to HFM 11.1

    Hello All,
We are planning to upgrade our system from Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.0 to HFM 11.1 and would be very grateful if you can help us in answering the below questions as I am novice in Hyperion.
    Current Environment:
We have one Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.0 server and Hyperion 6.5 client is installed on two Citrix servers. We use Citrix servers to publish Hyperion client which users can use to access the Hyperion application. I have been planning the Citrix upgrade for Citrix servers and due Hyperion 6.5 incompatibility with Win2008 R2, we are also planning to do Hyperion upgrade to either 6.5.1 or to HFM.
Having no knowledge on HFM, I found out that HFM is web-based application and users can access HFM application through browser unlike Hyperion 6.5 which is accessed by Hyperion client.
I have following question if you can help me, please:
    1. Do we need any client to access HFM or all the feature are web based?
    2. If it is web-based, do we need any web-server or IIS can be used to provide access to HFM application to users?
    3. How many servers (application, web-server, database server etc) would be suffice for 270 users, any estimate?
My questions might be very dumb for this forum but, I would really appreciate and thank any kind of help provided.
    Thanks,
    Rajneesh

You should not proceed without expertise in HFM. The installation and configuration requires a much greater technical knowledge and support than Hyperion Enterprise does. Also, you should not perform a straight migration of Hyperion Enterprise to HFM since you have to consider the differences in dimensionality. I recommend you engage someone who has already done such a migration and has good experience with HFM.

Could you please help me whether any tools are available for migration.
whether Oracle SQL Developer 1.2 Migration Workbench tool, would be helpful..?
My SQL server is resides in Window 2000 whereas Oracle is in AIX(Linux operating system)

  • Help on Migration from DB2 version 8.1 to Oracle 10g

    Hi All
We have one requirement of migrating one Mainframe database to Oracle 10g. the DB version is DB2 8.1 on Z OS. We are thinking of using Oracle Migration workbench. Can someome help me know if this is supported by OMWB tool or not. I checked in oracle site, they have mentioned some details about V4R5. Could not conclude. Please confirm this. Also let me know if there is any tool that we can use or we have to go manually. Any pointrs would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Prashant

OMWB nor its follow up product SQL Developer Migration workbench support DB2 z/OS migrations. You have to do them "manually".
For a manual migration you might use an Oracle Gateway which allows you to use an Oracle database link to the Db database and you can then use the gateway to copy the data from Db2 to Oracle. Another alternative would be to unload the DB2 data into an ascii file and to load it into the Oracle database using SQL*Loader. You might also use Golden Gate which is commonly used to replicate data between Oracle and DB2 - but it allows you also to use it as a migration utility.
There are also Oracle partners that can assist you with the migration - please have a look at:

Is it possible to migrate just the CS5 application from my Imac to my MacBook Pro?  I started looking for

No. Use your CS5 disk to install CS5 onto your MacBook Pro.

  • CF8 Enterprise migration to another hosting provider. Help with migration plan (license) needed

    Hi there!
We are running a CF8 Enterpsise on an older root Server (virtuozzo VM) and we need to switch to another provider (vmWare VM).
We will probably need more then one month for the migration and I need to come up with a migration plan that doesn't involve rendering the service unavailable.
I've tried to contact Adobe hotline, but the people there knew nothing about licensing, the other number I got from them kicks me after 20 minutes on hold... so I was hoping to be able to find answers here.
I understand CF Enterprise is licensed for 2 CPUs, for unlimited number of virtual machines, so the other server wouldn't qualify to run on the same license key because it's different 2 CPUs. If I could migrate everything within a month then I could use the 30 day demo license, but I will need more then 30 days.
So what are my options? Even if I wanted to buy CF8 Standard to cover the second server while migrating (am not really willing to pay $$$ just to cover few weeks of migration), I'm not sure I'd be able to find a place to buy it. CF9 or CF10 is not an option because we'd need to rewrite the code. What happenes if we do use same license key for few days on both servers - does it stop working? Any hope of me contacting Adobe and getting some kind of "extension" of the 30 day demo license so we can complete the migration?
Any ideas what I can to?
    TIA

When you install WS2012R2 on KMS02, you can add the VA role (or you can add it after initial Windows installation), this gives you KMShost and also VAMT.

To do this, you will need the KMShost product key (CSVLK) for WS2012R2. You can't use an older version product key for this.

So, you would setup KMS02 with the KMShost feature for Windows, then add the Office2010 KMShost license pack + Office2010 KMShost key, then add the Office2013 KMShost license pack + Office2013 KMShost key. (the Office license pack downloads are linked
    in the above wiki)
By default, KMS02 will attempt to self-publish into your DNS (so that your KMSclients can discover it and begin activating with it).
If existing KMSclients have previously discovered KMS01, those existing KMSclients will continue to contact KMS01 (because clients will cache the KMS they last discovered and used).
You may wish to export the data from KMS01/VAMT2.0 as a file, then, import to KMS02/VAMT3.1:
