when i connect my router to the adapter the power led still blinking and all the other leds still green unless the DMZ and WLAN leds dont work.i tried make reset but dont work and when connect it to my pc i cant access the main page at 192.168.1.1.plz i want help

i have pc and laptop and connect the pc to the router and the laptop to the wireless.and i never play with the ip adress or such things cuz i dont know and affraid to damage.so i thing its still have the ip 192.168.1.1 and i try connect the modem direct to the pc and worked the internet and ping too.but with my router no .also try put the cable in all the port 1,2,3,4 and still give me the same lose 100% when make the ping.

How to configure network printer with Linksys WRT54GL router network

I just bought a Linksys WRT54GL router and I am planning to build the following home-network around it:
1. A desktop computer connected to router via ethernet cable (hard-wired).
2. An HP Network Printer (Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP) connected to router via ethernet cable (hard-wired).
3. A notebook connected to router via Wi-Fi.
I want both computers (desktop and notebook) to be able to share files, and also to share the same network printer.
a. How do I do this?
b. Do I need to install the printer drivers in both computers as if the printer was local for each one?
c. What settings do I need to include in the Linksys router settings (and also the printer settings) to allow all this? I've read on the internet about DHCP configs, IP address, etc. but I hardly understand anything.
A step-by-step ("for dummies") explanation will be extremely appreciated.

You will need to install the printer driver on each computer that will be using the printer. You will need to have a printer driver that is designed to be used on a network. Many of HP's drivers (but not all of them) can be used for either a USB or a network connection.
Usually, when you use HP's printer installation software, it will walk you through the printer installation procedure, and install the printer drivers. This software is normally located on a CD that came with the printer. Some installation software demands that you setup a USB connection first, then switch to a network connection. Other installation software might install a network connection directly. Just follow the HP directions.
There are no special settings in the router. Simply wire (using an ethernet cable) your printer to a LAN port on the router, when the installation software (or instructions) tells you to do so.
Your printer will likely get a different LAN IP address (192.168.1.x ) from time to time. Some printer drivers can handle this and still work properly. Other printer drivers get confused, and cannot find your printer when it changes addresses. If your driver has this problem, then you will need to assign your printer a fixed LAN IP address. This will force the printer to have the same LAN IP address each time you boot up your network. If you need to do this, you will need to enter the LAN IP address directly into your printer (Sometimes this is done using the printer's buttons and display panel, and sometimes this is done using HP printer software). Note that any fixed LAN IP address must be outside your DHCP server range (defaults are 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.149 ) , and it cannot end in 0, 1, or 255. If you need to use a fixed LAN IP address, I would suggest you use 192.168.1.13 , which should be easy to remember by looking at the model number of your printer. If you need to use a fixed LAN IP address, you will also need to enter the Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway 192.168.1.1 , and DNS Server 192.168.1.1 , into your printer. If you use a fixed LAN IP address in the printer, you do not need to change any settings in the router. The router will automatically find your printer when you turn your printer on. Even if your printer is using a fixed LAN IP address, your computers can continue to get their address automatically from the router's DHCP server.

Need basic Help - SG300 with vlan and routing

i need some basic help with configuring vlan/routing.
Situation:
DSL Router - Cisco 300 - XenServer
192.168.1.253 - 192.168.1.19 - 192.168.1.10 (mgmt ip)
goal is, to reach from inside xenserver vms the internet.
vms = 192.168.2.x
gateway ip = 192.168.2.1
what i did:
- configured vlan 102, tagged, with the xenserver port
- configured on xenserver a network with vlan id 102, attached to the vm
- this network is conntected to an external bond
- configured ipva4 interface: vlan102 - Static - IP 192.168.2.1 (this is the gateway ip of the vms)
- automatic configured IPv4 Route: 192.168.2.0/24 next hop 0.0.0.0, Directly connected
So at the moment i cant ping from inside a vm to the DSL Router (192.168.2.2 to 192.168.1.253)
any ideas what i misconfigured or whats wrong?

Hi Tom,
ok, that make sense. I can ping the router now inside vms from 192.168.2.x network.
But i cant ping external adresses, error: Destination net unreachable.
My other problem i have, i cant reach any server from outside over router portforwarding.
How do i have to configure the upload port to the dsl router? Is it a access port or a trunk
port with all vlans (tagged or untagged?) At the moment ive a tagged Trunkport with all vlans.

Help me with a WRT54GS Router

If you can help me any amount I will be grateful I have 3 Laptops in my house and when one of them is online (like playing online games and stuff like that) when the second gets on the router drops the first laptop for a couple minutes then it reconnects the first laptop so they are both online. Then the third gets on and the router drops the first and second laptop for a couple minutes then reconnects to both of them. So they are all three connected. I want to know if there is a way to make it so that the router wont disconnect any of the laptops when another accesses it.

Hi… logon to router’s setup page, try changing wireless channel to 1 or 11, go to advanced wireless settings reduce beacon interval to 50, fragmentation and RTS threshold to 2304, change Transmission rate to 54 MBps…click on "application & gamings" >> QoS >> enable the WMM feature...also try upgrading latest firmware on router, check whether it makes any difference or not and let me know.

i have an issue with an WRT54GL v1.1 router.
the power led is flashing and the router`s interface is not loading. nothing works (dhcp, wireless, interface..)i suspect firmware trouble.
how can i reflash the router wthout the interface.
any help would be apreciated.
i tried the steps found in the FAQ section but they didn`t help me at all...

Try the following steps...
- Hold down the reset button for at least 30 seconds.
- While still holding down the reset button, unplug the device.
- While still holding down the reset button, leave the unit unplugged for at least 5 seconds.
- While still holding down the reset button, plug the power cord back into the router.
- After 5 seconds, you can stop holding down the reset button.
- Go to the webpage of the router. It’s usually http://192.168.1.1/ or http://192.168.2.1/
- You should see the special mode.
- Upload the firmware you were trying to load up, or try resetting it.
This should get your router back to working mode

Help with password for router

Hi, anyone can help me with my password for the WRT54G router. I am trying to reconfigure it, but is asking me for a password. I reset the back bottom, and I entered "admin", but still does not work. It does not go on with the set up.

Yes, annoying. A couple of options:
While it's playing the current A song, click on the H song to select it (but not double click to play it), when iTunes jumps to the second A song, press the down key and iTunes will remember that you had that H song selected and will move the selection to the second H song while the second A song is still playing. So, still jumps around, but easy to get back to where you were.
Create a new playlist for your music, right click on it, select "New Window" and you can browse your music in a second list while the first window continues to play music. But if you then start playing music in that second window, you have to go back to the first window if you want to start browsing again. Not great if you're navigating around to play the next song.
Play music from iTunes DJ, then as you're browsing around your library, you can add things to play next in DJ, and go back. You can combine this with previous suggestion, to keep DJ open in one window while you browser in the other window.
None of these are great, but maybe one of these works better than your current workflow.

I was looking into the issue you are desribing, and found a great article for troubleshooting wifi connections with iOS devices. It's called iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections and can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398.
Start with this section, and work your way down if needed.
Basic troubleshooting
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and then on again.
Verify that you are in range of your Wi-Fi router or base station.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and Cable/DSL modem are connected to power and turned on.
Check whether other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware.For AirPort Base Stations, refer to this article for information about firmware updates. For third-party Wi-Fi routers, check the manufacturer's website for details on updating your firmware.
Restart your iOS deviceHold the On/Off button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.

LaPastenague can you help? TC is refusing to work with existing modem/router

My home office network setup is driving me mad! I've identified the issue - my TC is competing with my modem/router. What I haven't been able to do is fix the problem. I've tried setting it up as a bridge, tried turning off wireless and nothing has worked. Are you able to help before I throw an almighty tantrum?
Here's my set up:
* Primary computer is a MacBook Air which is on wireless 24/7
* Secondary computer is a MacBook Pro, also operating on wireless
* Time capsule is used as a server of sorts, to store all our files which are then accessed via the laptops. It's only a few months old.
* Router is also new (yes, someone sold us incompatible devices). It's a Netgear D6200.
* We've set up both a 5G and a 2.4G wireless network, but operate on 5G 99% of the time
* There are 2 x Airport Express in the house - one connected to the printer, one connected to the surround sound system
* There are also 2 x Apple TVs and 1 x iPhone connected to the network
Are you able to help me figure out the best setup? I know it's possible - I just can't figure out how to do it

I presume the modems you've suggested are all compatible with my apple devices? I read somewhere amidst your recommendations that apple doesn't play nicely with non-apple modem/routers.
Depends on brands.. Netgear is near the bottom.. overall TP-Link is pretty good.. they are certainly aware of the need to test against Apple products and special protocols, and tweak here and there to get better results.
It is important to understand though.. what I want you to do is basically turn the modem router into a dumb modem.. it will have no part in the network other than translation of ethernet packets to ATM phone networking packets. All the routing will be handled by the Apple router.
Yes, the Netgear is a wifi/DSL modem & router. I'm using wireless on the Netgear. I didn't turn wireless off on this device as I assumed I should be relying on that as my router given it was recommended instore. I'll give that a go now.

Never ever believe what the salesman in the store tells you. He always has one at home that works perfectly with every piece of equipment you happen to have. And it fixes warts and herpes.. and most everything.. the bottle says snake oil. Apply liberally to dumb customers.
The reason I suggest a very cheap modem.. is that it will do nothing .. except translate packets. Ethernet to ATM.. ATM to Ethernet.. completely dumb.. You can bridge the Netgear but that seems a horrible waste.. I would prefer you to return it to the store for refund.. or at worst sell it off..
Even if you need to use it as a router.. which we are still getting to.. there is no need to use its wireless.
Anyway keep in touch with how it goes.
