Help need some info on repairs for iphone 3G
I dropped my iphone tonight due to a faulty case that will not stay clipped on. I noticed my on/off switch for my ringer no longer works. Has anyone had this problem and if so have you sent it in to be repaired? What's the cost of repair and how long does it take? I do not have the Apple Protection Plan but I purchased the phone in September so it falls under the 1 year warranty. So help I'm trying to figure out what to do with it.

I was just searching around for a repair shop myself. If the warranty doesn't cover it, you might want to check these guys. They looked promising, and they actually answered my phone call and were honest about my chances of phone repair (in my case, it wasn't worth the money/effort):

If the program includes the V-array appln, that would be better to.There are some drawbacks, running Windows 7 (only) on a Mac via Bootcamp yields less than stellar results, especially with the Retina display.
And of your traveling, the Mac's high power needs (especially the Retina display) and lack of removable battery are going to be a serious issue. The Retina display is glossy, not ideal for viewing on the road and in varied environments.
CS4 won't run on the OS X version that comes with a Mac, so your looking at purchasing CS6.
Support for Windows is more widespread than for Mac's, also if you ever need to redownload OS X to fix a issue, requires a fast reliable Internet connection of the broadband kind.
If your running Windows on your Mac, you can expect to be on your own and not get support as easily as if you were running it on a regular PC.
If you can't afford to keep up with CS upgrades, then you shouldn't be considering a Mac because there are more paid upgrades on that than on Windows 7, it's like a annual nightmare.
IMMO your still better off on a decent, 1920 x 1080 res, matte screen, removable battery (with extras), Win 7 Pro i7 machine (Pro+ runs XP programs) which will stay like it is and get security updates until 2020.
OS X changes every year and if you don't upgrade, + all your third party software, then about 3 years later your left behind for updates.
Also you will have to buy Win 7 to run on your Mac, the OEM disks won't work.
If your trying to budget, then a Mac is certainly not for you. -

BIOS registered my drives, Built array PC Rebooted, Installing Win XP pro Hit F6 install drivers, Format drives, Then before Install It says that :setup cannot copy the file ahcix86.inf.
If I skip it, it will install XP but when I try to boot from the hard drive It starts to load XP but crashes to the blue screen of death

Looking at some info on Google and Microsoft site, I cannot find the BC error code, only the error code ending with B. It indicates an error with the boot device. It can be caused by several things.
Check that you are using the correct device drivers to install Windows
Also, check the installation CD. It could be that the disk was damaged and that you are missing a crucial file because of that
You can also try installing Windows again and choose to recover the previous installation.
If this all does not help, try installing Windows on a single HDD (no raid) to see if that will work. -

Pls send some info regarding dis.Using a spectrum analyzer with LabVIEW is a pretty common application, my first program 15 years ago did this. What we need to know to help you though is what model spectrum analyzer are you planning on using? Most of the ones I'm familiar with use the GPIB interface rather than RS232, but that isn't a major issue, the spectrum analyzers command set is the important one. There are a lot of LabVIEW drivers available for a larger number of analyzers, here on the National Instruments' site. Although most use the GPIB interface (or ethernet), they can be used as a starting point to develop an RS232 driver if one isn't available, assuming that there is a driver for the model that you have, or a closely related one (manufacturers frequently use similar command sets within a model type).
So, what type analyzer are you using, and what types of things are you planning on doing with it?

IanOn satellite Pro A10 two memory slots are available. Notebook can handle with 1 GB RAM and you can use two compatible PC2100 512MB (PA3164U-1M51) modules.
This old machine uses 2,5 HDD with old IDE connector. I found some info that it was delivered with 20GB, 30GB and 40GB HDDs. I think you can upgrade it with HDD up to 100 GB but just be sure it has the same HDD connector.

HELP NEEDED: Use a new record for a customized table as a workflow trigger

One of our requirements is to have the creation of a new record in a custom database table trigger a workflow. I read and followed the steps as indicated in this link

As a summary, here is what I did:
1. Created a subroutine for the custom table ZPA2003 for the create event
2. Defined this event as a trigger for the custom workflow WS90000019
3. Maintained and activated the event linkage via SWETYPV
Basically I tried following the instructions indicated on the link
Note that the entries for the custom table are created via a function module.
Now during testing of the workflow, the system was able to complete the notification message. However, when I triggered the event via creation of the entry in the custom db table nothing happened
1. Is there a way to debug/find out whether the link between the subroutine in the table and event itself are connected?
2. I also tried running the event trace to check the activities executed but found nothing.
Can you guys help me check on what I may have missed out?

Basically these are the requirements for the work schedule substitution:
1. Employee enters the request via ESS (custom portal transaction)
2. Upon saving of the entry (request) in a custom table, this should trigger the workflow at the backend
3. The Manager should then receive a work item in his Universal Worklist at the MSS side of the portal
4. Upon clicking on the work item, a new screen will pop up showing the work schedule substitution details as well as an interface which will allow him to enter his/her usage decision
5. Depending on the decision, the workflow must execute the necessary notifications as well as changes in the custom and PA2003 tables
Now, we have accomplished step 1 and I am currently in the process for step 2. Now I have some queries:
1. For the Manager to view and approve the substitution details, I used two methods for each process (view and approve) since our ABAPer mentioned that this cannot be done in 1 function module. Is there a way to simplify this step or is it really valid that they need to be executed in 2 different methods?
2. As per our ABAPer, function Modules only import and export variables; they do not have the facility of say having tags on the details being displayed. Hence, if the details are 10001 (Employee Number), 10/20/2011 (Start Date), 10/25/2011 (End Date) the output would be 10001, 10/20/2011, 10/25/2011. Is there a way within the function module (or dynpro interface) to show it like this: Employee Number: 10001
Start Date: 10/20/2011
End Date: 10/25/2011
3. Speaking of dynpro applications, do I need to still develop one to allow the Manager to view and approve/reject the request via the MSS portal upon accessing the work item via the UWL? How would the work item go about calling the dynpro application? or is this even possible?
It would have been easier if the facility would not pass through workflows since it will be just direct web dynpro/ABAP calls. Having to include it as a work item in the UWL puts a certain twist to it

I have worked with Rman the last days - and it is far more easier than I first thought.
I have found out to make easy backup simply with "backup database" command - but my question is now how do I test this backup.
If we imagine that the server is falling apart and I have to build this database up again, can I do that simply with this "backup database" command that I have used ?.
If this backup can do it, I should be able to rebuild the database on my local pc with this backup I have made - but how ?
Hope for some can help meIt isn't clear what you mean by your server "falling
apart". Two possible scenarios are:
I) Your server is unavailable. In this case you would
need to follow the procedure for disaster recovery. In
such a situation you can rebuild your database on a new
server, provided you have the following (on tape or
elsewhere):
1) Full RMAN backup.
2) Current controlfile or a backup controlfile.
3) All archive logs since the full backup and online
redo log at time of failure.
4) Server parameter file (or initialization parameter
file).
5) It is also helpful to have ancilliary files such as
network config files (tnsnames.ora and listener.ora)
and the password file. However, these aren't absolutely
necessary for successful recovery.
Given the above you can recover your database up to
the last committed transaction prior to failure. The
details of this procedure are well documented in the
RMAN User Guide.
II) Your server is still up and running. In this case
recovery may merely be a matter of figuring out which
files(s) need recovery and then restoring the file(s)
and recovering the database. This can be done without
shutting down the database provided the affected file(s)
are not SYSTEM datafiles. For SYSTEM datafiles the
procedure is a bit more involved (since your database
would have crashed).
There are several other scenarios, and it is impossible
to cover every possibility in a forum thread. Again, it
is best that you read the backup and recovery
documentation before going any further.

IMac G5 Repair Extension Program for Video and Power Issues...i read the page that tells how i would now that there is a problem with the Video/Power issues. My serial # is off by 2 digits and I bought my iMac in July but it might have been on the shelf for longer than that.
Also, I was watching a DVD earlier on the computer today and when i was ejecting the DVD the screen had some horizontal lines or some kind of distortion for about 5 seconds. It's all fine but would this make it eligible for the Repair Extension Program.You just bought the machine and from what I can gather its starting to manifest some video problems. I wouldn't worry about the extension I would take it back and get it taken care of plus buy Apple care.
