Help needed in installing Elements 12 onto Mac

I have 2 Macbooks, one older one and one brand new retina with no cd drive.
Bought Elements on CD, and installed it on my older device all fine. Used Air Drop to move/copy it over to new Macbook and when I try to launch it, there is a Congig errer : 16, saying to uninstall. Ideas please???

SimonOwens I would recommend you either use the DVD sharing feature or copy the files locally and then try installing the software.

Actually, you cannot download Snow Leopard. You downloaded a Snow Leopard updater.

ProjectLibre gives you most if not all the functionality of MS Project.
Both run natively on OS X and are totally FREE.
Lastly, if you need to access Windows computers from your Mac, Microsoft Remote Desktop is available for free from the App Store. It is a vast improvement over the Remote Desktop Connection that comes with the MS Office for Mac commercial product.

I've tried going through the website.......tried the FAQ...
It's just one heck of a poor site that keeps going around and around and getting no where.
I am only trying to install elements 13 and it will not accept my serial number............but I am getting a very bad taste for ADOBE and very shortly this product is going to be returned.
It's a shame that I cant get an answer to such a very easy question.

Need to install Elements 11 by download

My DVD player is not working this morning and I need to reinstall Elements 11. I have the entire package with DVD, codes and all but had un-installed (more on that later). Right now I really need to use it and I can't re-install because computer isn't even recognizing that I have the install disc in there. I went to the Adobe site and all I see there is Elements 12. Right now I really need what I'm familiar with. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me.

Note that connecting an external hard drive is not a significant source of concern with the types of malware that are out there right now, unless you got the drive from a real bonehead who might have copied some malware installers onto it. That's very unlikely.

I have installed Oracle Webcenter and SOA suite (11g) in single domain and also installed and conten server 10.1.3.4. All in a single machine. And I want to provide LDAP Identity store for custom applications/Spaces application with content management. I am in the process installing Identity management. I have the following issues
1. Do I need to install all the 5 components of Identity suite?
2. Due to performance reasons I want to install Idm suite on different machine. Can the webcenter application on machine1 be configured to use the identity services from machine2 ,consideing i created a new domain on machine2 that contains it identity servers with its own admin console/Fusion control?
installation guide contains lot of options which i could not understand .Please help me in this regard.

Help needed turning LC II into Mac network server

Just picked up 4 LC IIs that I would like to turn into Mac network servers. I would like to adapt the 80 pin blade style SCSI HDs to work with a B&W Rev. A. Need to learn more about hot swappable SCSI arrays.

You have asked seven questions at once.
Any Mac running 7.1 or later can share files using Personal File Sharing, without the need for AppleShare server or Mac OS X Server software. This is all most folks need for casual home or light office use. 7.5.3 and later has the easier to use Open Transport networking software, and 9.0 or later can most easily connect with Macs running 10.4 and later.
LC-II have only narrow SCSI-1, and unless they have sprouted a PCI slot, cannot participate in the rest of this discussion.
There are several classes of Wide SCSI busses. The one first implemented in the beige G3 with Server card is a Fast & Wide Single-Ended bus. It used the readily available and really cheap Apple/ATTO PCI PSC card. It is limited to the 3 to 4 feet of 68-pin high-tech-plastic-jacket cable already installed inside the cabinet, and adding any external drives made the cable too long, and the whole thing became unreliable. Many Single-Ended Drives can provide termination with a strap setting.
Historically, HVD (High Voltage Differential) came next, but it was a false start. It is incompatible with everything. Stay away.
The next class of Controllers and Drives used LVD (Low-Voltage Differential) drivers and receivers. These "balanced" or "push-pull" drivers and receivers are much more noise-immune. Speeds increase dramatically and cable length restrictions are (practically speaking) eliminated. Some Internal cables still use the flat high-tech-plastic-jacket cable, but are generally implemented with twist-and-flat cables. To use adjacent drive positions in a Blue & White G3, your cable must have more than 8 inches between connectors, mainly due to the bizarre way the cable must be folded to reach the drive connectors.
A discrete captive terminator at the end of the cable is the norm. Occasionally, a terminator that is plugged into the last connector socket is used instead. All these terminators are generally capable of applying termination for either LVD or Single-Ended cables, and do so automatically. But they are too big to fit on a drive, and therefore almost no LVD-capable drives contain termination circuitry.
Caution: If any drive on the cable is a Single-Ended drive, the entire cable drops back into Single-Ended mode, and previous cable length restrictions and speed limits apply!

Help needed in installing Photoshop Elements 10

Hi, I purchased a dual pack Photoshop Elements 10/Premiere 10 quite some time ago and have been using them both on my 64-bit Windows 7desktop. I have tried on several occasions in recent months, lastly today, to install them on my Windows 7 32-bit Laptop too, but I can't manage to do it. i wonder if anyone can help me please?
I have loaded Disc 1, entered my serial number and after several minutes it appeared to complete installation and asked me to reboot Windows. When i do that there is no mention of it in Programs, it doesnt return to the CD, perhaps to complete installtion and if I reload the disc and click on Install it just repeats the whole process.
My understanding is that I have two licenses and so I cant see why it wont load.

Help needed after installing Security Update 2008-008

Had the same problem everyone else has had. I got it back up and running using the Archive & Install procedure. Once I log in I get this error message:
"Application Transport Monitor could not be launched because of shared library error. "8<Transport Monitor><Transport Monitor><HotSyncLib.PPC>"
What do i need to do for this (reinstall a clean install of OS?)
Most of my programs work except for Itunes & Netbarrier Firewall.
Do I need to reinstall these programs.

It's important to Verify or Repair the Disk before you repair Permissions...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates.
May even need to do an Archive and Install if you have room on the HD, but saves all your files and gives a new OS...

That way I can wait a week or so, check the forums for potential problems, and get Permissions & such in order before installing.
If all the above fails, then it appears to be time for an Archive & Install, which gives you a new OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space...

Error when Installing Elements 4 Mac OS 10.9

Trying to install OEM Elements 4 on new iMac 27, OS 10.9. Repeatedly fails after copying files. This CD was supplied by Canon with 8800F scanner. I used the scanner with Windows Elements successfully for a year or two. Now have moved to Intel iMac and am trying to install the Mac version of Elements, which I would very much like to use. Can you please suggest possible answers.

Help needed to install Classic

I just bought a iMac G3 for my daughter. It came with OS 10.3 but I need to run programs for her that are only compatible to up to OS 9 or OS X Classic. The seller gave me a OS 9.1 disc to install OS 9.1. I did this in 10.3 setting and it says it's installed, but when Classic starts, it prompts a message that says something to the effect that it cannot start classic because the disc is read-only. I started the computer using the OS 9 CD out of the CD player and started the installer, but when it gets to the step to select the designation, the drop down menu shows nothing so I cannot install it. I called the seller and he's not returning calls. Am I totally out of luck? Can anyone help me to get this working? Thanks!

Hi, newton520, and welcome to Apple Discussions. Your inability to select the iMac's internal hard drive as the destination disk for an OS 9.1 installation probably arises because when OS X was installed, the drive was erased and OS 9 disk drivers were not reinstalled afterward, as one of the selectable options in installing OS X.
Start up in OS X and choose "About this Mac" from the Apple menu. Click "More Info" in the Info window to open System Profiler. In System Profiler, click "ATA" under the "Hardware" heading in the left pane. The right pane will display information about your hard drive and optical drive. What is shown next to "OS 9 Drivers" under your hard drive: Yes or No?
