Help needed on Populating forms

Hi,
I am new to Apex and would appreciate any help regarding this.
The scenario is as follows: I need to have a form which can be saved and edited each time user logs in untill the user presses submit button. Now I have created a form (with text, radiogroup, checkboxes LOV's etc) which inserts the data entered and selected by the user to the database when he presses 'save'. But the next time the user logs in, I am unable to display the form with the previously entered data. How do I populate the database values to the form (As I mentioned before, the form contains radiogroup, LOV'S etc) ?

Sorry for late reply... and thank you for sending the link...
Priyanka, I checked out the link... its fine... but thats not my requirement...
it is as follows:
1) there is login page...with login_info table and user_id as primary key
2)a form whose data is stored in a table with user_id as foreign key.
3)form has 2 buttons- create and apply changes.
4)for the first time...user enters data and clicks create.
5)when he logs in for 2nd time...the data he entered previously must be populated into the form...so that he can update it and save t by clicking apply changes button...
now how do i populate data of that particular user when he logs in? Do i use sessions?
And regarding automatic dml...its working fine...but automatic row fetch is not happening... So, i have written a separate procedure..by which i can now populate forms when i have hardcoded user_id...
how to do this dynamically?

Hi, i have created this form in dreamweaver but ive got this problem.
In the fields above the text field, the client needs to fill in some info such as name, email telephone number etc.
But the problem is when ill get the messages. Only the text from the large text field is there.
What did i do wrong??

Help needed in RTF form field to display yes or no based on xml value

Hi,
I have the data in xml as follows: <CP_ZERO_COST>2</CP_ZERO_COST>
Now my requirement is, if CP_ZERO_COST is 2 then the column should display 'No' and if CP_ZERO_COST is 1 the column should display 'Yes'. Now this 'yes' or 'no' is not coming in xml tag. I need to do that in RTF form field.
Could anyone please tell me how to do that?

You can also use if then else logic. Ensure that you specify the correct path to get to CP_ZERO_COST

I require your help in XML form .
when we create a XML form in Builder we can define some caption values such as $sap_user , $ locDate which displays the
user id and date in the respective field when the form is opened.
I need to dispaly the phone number,department etc from the LDAP /UME to my from .
How can i get it .

Which environment are you trying this in ? In Enterprise server, bursting is defined by a SQL query which can be run against the table that you want. So you can even populate the printer name from your query. So the URI, ipp://myprintserver:631/printers/printername" is the syntax. In your case you have to create this string in your SQL query by concatenating the parts "ipp://" + printername + ":631/". If there is a name to the printer in the printserver, then that too can be concatenated.
In case this is in EBS , the same has to be done in the control file.

Hello,
I am trying to use the data drop-down list from the custom library. I enter the name of my data connection and the other 2 variables in quotes when they are initialized, just like the example says to, but it still doesn't work. Anyone have any thoughts?

I am having trouble (sleepless nights) with populating a drop-down list from an Access Database. The result is: I only get the first record from the data connection. So the connection works but I cannot go through the other records. Maybe there is an other way to do this.
I am trying to selectively fill a form with data from an MS-access database.
I hope someone can help me.

Help needed with my form - PLEASE!

My form on avarislaw.com is working properly.
The form attach file area should not be mandatory but for some reason it still apears even when I change this in BC.

You need to remove the javascript validation for that form element in the HTML of the form as well.

Help needed with fillable form

I have created a form in Adobe, which was very easy. However, when it was emailed out to other users, several commented that they couldn't make revisions to it. Most of the users had either Flash or Reader, not many having Standard or Professional. After some research, I found the Submit Form button, which looks like it would work, but I need some assitance on making sure it formatted correctly. I also need some assistance on setting up a siguature and using it. I have utilized the Help function while working on the form, but it doesn't seem to get me anywhere.
If anyone has any experience with a form like this, I would appreicate any help!

Looks like the LiveCycle recommendation is appropriate since you did not create the form in Acrobat. The techniques for working forms is different in Designer and the form cannot be edited in Acrobat once Designer is used. I would have to look at the form in Designer on my other machine at work to provide any comments, but the other forum should lead to more useful feedback.

Absolute beginner - help needed PJC javabeans - Forms 6/AS 9i

i'm very interested upon the possibility to extend my forms 6 application using pluggable java components and javabeans. Searched for some documents, papers, book or tutorial explaining the subject (of course i've readed the online help... but sincerely this didn't help very much) in vain. I'm a newcomer in java technoligies (a little more experienced in "standard" forms 6 programming). The questions are: 1) what kind of configuration i need for my developing environment (registry, directory structures, environment variables, AS settings and configuration). 2) where to begin (examples, tutorial, first step). Anyone knows a book a could use to learn from scratch?

Thank you for your answer Andreas. I knew Francois site (very interesting) and i saw the page about first bean building. Unfortunately that paper isn't applyable in my case. I'm using Forms builder 6, not jdev on 10g. My first problem is to understand all the "configuration" needed and some instuction for realizing a simple bean (a calendar control, for instance) inside a form. I'm puzzling... i can't see nowhere a working example to study from...

Urgent help needed to setup Forms 6i Server on Windows Server 2003

I am trying to install Forms 6i Server from the Forms/Reports 6i Release 2 CD onto a server with Windows Server 2003 Standard Editon (services pack 1) installed.
The Oracle Installer produced the following error when I tried to install the Forms 6i Server From the Forms/Reports 6i Release 2 CD:
user1.pin(20); os_error while spawning ifsrv60 -install forms60server port=9000 mode=socket batch=yes.
Has anyone successfully installed Forms 6i Server from Forms/Reports 6i Release 2 CD onto a Windows Server 2003 server?
Any help is appreciated.

As part of a new project, I'll be trying to implement a JavaBean in a form; specifically, I'll be implementing the multi-select tlist bean.
This is not something I've done before, so I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the direction of any documentation or on-line tutorials on the subject.

Hi,
Try the built-in procedure WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT. See some examples in the on-line help of Forms.
You can call this built-in procedure in a Form level trigger , called 'KEY-HELP' (when the user presses the <Ctrl>+<H> buttons) , or if you have a button on the form use the trigger 'WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED'.

Help needed with online form

I have developed an HTML online form that is 2 part. the html
form itself that my employees access thru our network, fill out and
submit. this is a document change request. I have set up two
departments selectable by radio button. I thought that when one is
selected, that when the submit button is clicked to send the email
request out, that some how based on which button was checked, then
the email would go to that department. example: one department is
"PCBA" which is myself. One department is "INTERCONNECT" which is
Joes department. if the "INTERCONNECT" radio button was selected,
then the email would go to joe. If the "PCBA" radio button was
selected, then the email would come to myself.
I'm not sure how to code this. I can send both my HTML form
and Cfmail form to anybody to review if that would help.

I am using Dreamweaver and in the split view mode
(Design/Preview), I can see my code but the preview pane is blank.
When my email form would not work, I could see the form in the
preview pane. However now that the form works, It will not show in
the preview pane. I know that my IT mgr. moved some tags around
that enable the form to work. Howerver, I think something is still
out of wack because I believe that I should still be able to view
this in the preview mode.
I apologize for this, but I am new to this Cold Fusion stuff,
and this is my first attempt.

hello,
I have a table with an flag_indicator whose default value is 0 which is of number datatype.
and I am displaying the column falg_indicator it as a standard report column in my tabular form with value 0.
but the thing is that now I want to display te column as " NO" in my tabular form (shouldn't be editable column)
jst want to display as "NO" in my column instead of 0.
can anyone help me out with this.

I have created an email form that curently defaults to the
home page. Is there a way to have it go to a confirmation page? I
am sure there is something in the HTML Language, but not sure?
