HELP! NEW USER IN NEED!

Could someone tell me what im doing wrong?
Im trying to get my companys web site off the server, I define local root folder by making an empty folder - site - manage sites - new site - add URL - edit copies on my machine - select folder to add files - FTP to connect to remote server - add ftp address - but don't know what folder is called on server - add FTP login and password - connect to the remote host - Now I right click the html page I want to edit and open it but it is not the same page as on line. Its the same name but looks like an old version of the page with images missing. Can anyone understand this?

When you have the FTP setup in the Files window, click the Get (down) arrow so that you bring the files to your hard drive.  The reason the styles and images look like they are missing is because they are.  If you do not have the files on your computer while you are working on the site, then Dreamweaver will not be able to load them.  Once you download all the files, edit the files and then click the Put (up) arrow to put the files back on the server that you change.  Then you should be good to go.

    I am a new user upgrading from using Premiere 6.5.  I have had much success but there is one part that I can't figure out.  I know on the 6.5 verison I would be able to right click my video, click on "Video" and then click on "motion" to adjust the size of the video as if I wanted to scroll text next to the video.  I can't seem to figure that out in this new version.  Help!

    Left-click to Select the Clip. Look in the Effects Control Panel and you will see all of the Fixed Effects (Motion, Opacity, etc.) and any Effects that you have added. Their control (plus Keyframing) will be found there. By default, it is in the Pane with the Audio Mixer and the Source Monitor.

I am a new user, and i am tired of all the tutorials NI provides, they all talk about creating some bullshit waveform or making some easy calculator vi. They never talk about the real stuff, example, how to start a project, create your vi, compiling or putting together all the vi's, compile everything together and than creating an EXE. Holly shit that's all i am asking for is an idiots guide is it that hard for NI to make ! Can anyone out there direct to something to figure this out maybe a book, article, web page something!!!   And no thank you i don't need some sales guy calling me trying to sell NIN bullshit training classes, i have been to them and all the instructor could talk about is creating a ridicolous sine wave genarator (WoW)

    These are all non-techical terms and not very descriptive in the context of LabVIEW. Could you be a bit more specific on what kind of problems you encountered?

Are you familiar with general programming terms? Are you trying to program for personal enjoyment, for school, or as part of a job. If your employer forces you to switch to LabVIEW, maybe he could send you to some NI classes.

    As anything, there is always an initial hurdle that needs to be overcome before becoming familiar in a new environment. Fortunately, this threshold is very low in the case of LabVIEW and you should be up and running after a couple of hours. Mastery takes a bit longer, of course.

  • Can I transfer CC for Teams membership (Photoshop) to a new user on the same machine without uninstalling and reinstalling software? i.e. one user left new user started needing the same software.

    We have Creative Cloud for Teams, most users using Photoshop.  One user left the company and has been replaced by another user.  I removed the first user's membership and assigend it to the new user.  When she runs Photoshop, she gets a 00 Days left message.  Photoshop still seems to be useable right now but I'm wondering if I need to uninstall Photoshop and re-install it using her credentials?  Seems like a lto of unnecessary work to me.

    There is no need for removal of the product . You can simply launch the product , click on Help>Sign out . Close the product and sign in with the new user's Adobe ID & Password. This should activate the product .

    Hi, im a new user to oracle express edition and have been given a task at university to complete.
    Iv tried searching for tutorials myself but i either A cannot find the ones i need, or B dont understand them,
    my task is:
    A soft drinks company based in Cramlington require an individual to undertake a data analysis project. The company would like you to produce a prototype of the system, designed as an oracle database system.
    The company would like to record sales data. The sales can be through vending machines or shop outlets; as a guide, the prototype needs to record where the items have been sold (vending or shop), details about the items as the company produces a range of soft drinks, prices etc. The region the items are sold in is important as the company would like to produce reports by region to compare sales figures. The new system will be used to make management decisions, such as where to increase marketing, whether items should be withdrawn from the market etc. Sales reports should be based on monthly figures.
    Tasks
    The database, SQL, forms, reports and all other applications you build for the system should be created in Oracle Express Edition, and submitted on CD-ROM.
    The username and password for the DBA in your system should be as used in the lab, as follows:
    Username: hecomputing
    Password: ramdrive
    1.     You are to create the tables in Oracle Express Edition and populate the tables with sample sales data. Take into consideration the requirements detailed above. However remember this is a guide and by no means a full list of data that should be recorded by the system. It is expected that you will produce a third normal form structure and submit this with your application.
    2.     Create all forms for data entry. No data should be entered through the table view by the user; the data should be entered via a form.
    3.     Create all forms to view, edit and delete data.
    4.     Create a drill-down form for item and sales data as a minimum.
    5.     Implement triggers to demonstrate auditing, which as a minimum should track
    •     Insertion of new data
    •     Deletion of existing data
    •     Modification of existing data
    6.     Implement stored procedures

    11.     You are to informally demonstrate your prototype on the 20th May 2007, in the timeslot you have been allocated. Please see your tutor or Blackboard to confirm your timeslot. All demonstrations will take place between 12:00pm and 5pm on that day.

    You can download and study the 'Store' application at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html#STORE which does many of the things you need. If you 'hack' the app you'll be well on your way.

  • Syncing iPod to new user account-need advice

    Hey All! I set up a new user account for my friend on my imac, so he will want to sync his iPod Touch to iTunes, iPhoto, iCal, etc. in his new user account. I know there are plenty of freeware and shareware apps to get his music from the iPod into iTunes, but need advice concerning everything else oh his iPod.
    I know I'll first get that pop up window that says his iPod is synced to another computer, and that I use "cancel" rather than "sync and erase". After doing that, I guess I use one of the shareware apps to get the music transferred over.
    Now, after that, if I do a regular sync, will iTunes transfer his apps that are on the iPod?
    Do I need to open iPhoto and download the photos on his iPod into iPhotot before doing a sync?
    What about text messages? Will they remain in tact?
    I don't think he uses the calendar on his iPod so no worries there....
    What about Playlists that he has on the iPod? Will just the music transfer with the shareware apps or playlists also?
    Will Notes be saved?

    Apps are tied to the ID I assume the new account is just on the iMac and not a new iTunes account?
    Yes, you can import photos into iPhoto the same as you would off any camera.
    You would need to transfer purchased content (like apps). You can't do that via sync as it's a new computer and all content will be erased as you are aware.

  • HELP New user, importing Music from library ( WMA )

    I am a new user to Itunes ( bit late i know ).
    I need to move my music ( my music folder ) into itunes.
    I have over 40Gb of music. If i import music folder through Itunes using the file > Import folder menu, i am lead to belive that firstly all my music will need to be converted to Mp3. this is not a problem althouigh i am sure it will take a long time.
    My main worry is that when converting the music into itunes the origional my music folder will stay where it is therefore doubling up my music to over 80Gb and therefore will not fit on my hard drives.
    i tried to cut and paste my music files into the itunes music folder within my music although it doesnt appear in my library???
    Any help appreciated!!!!

    Moving files into the iTunes library doesn't comvert them to MP3.
    iTunes can only use unprotected WMA files. If you are trying to add protected WMA songs, they won't go into the iTunes library.
    You can leave all the music files where they are. iTunes will only copy them to the iTunes folder if you have that option checked.

    Assuming you are using Apple's Mail application, contacts are managed via the Contacts application, in your application folder.  As for various addressing methods, including groups, maybe this:

    I am new to the mac world having just purchased a MacBook, signed up with a mac account, and am trying to test load a very simple 2 page web site. I continue to get publishing errors (different file names sometimes appear when I retry to publish). Nothing shows up on my idisk, so nothing is getting through. I have tried to publish about a dozen times over the last couple of days. I note others have had similar errors. Since space is not an issue on my idisk and the site is so small, I'm not sure what to try next. Any ideas? Thanks.<

    “iDisk Quota Error” fix
    A. Quit iWeb, if it is open. Select Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu.
    Then type (or copy and paste) ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb into
    the field and click Go. You should now see a file named, Domain.
    (or you could just do it manually by opening the hard disk, open the Users folder, then open the Folder with your user name on it, open the Library folder, open the application support folder, open the iweb folder, and then you should be looking at the DOMAIN file.)
    This is a Mac OSX package file. Note: A package is a relatively common type of document in Mac OSX; it is essentially a sealed folder. It contains individual items, but cannot be opened in the same manner as a folder.
    B. To open the package, hold the Control Key and click on the Domain package file. Note: If you have a two-button mouse, this step can be accomplished by right-clicking the Domain package file.
    C. Select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu that appears.
    D. A new window will appear containing a folder named Contents.
    E. Open the Contents folder. Here you will see one, and possibly two files named assets.<membername>.groups.<groupname>.plist or assets.<membername>.plist, where <membername> and <groupname> correspond to your .Mac member name and .Mac Group name. Note: Your .Mac member name is the first part of your .Mac email address, before "@mac.com."
    NOTE FROM ME... I didn’t find these files in the Contents folder, I found
    them when I opened the Domain File itself. Whatever.. when you find one,
    or maybe both of these files, delete them. (some people have both, some
    have one)
    F. If you have either or both of these files, move them to the trash. Then close
    the Contents window.
    G. Relaunch iWeb and try publishing again.

    I just bought my own iPod this weekend. My 16 year old daughter has had one for a couple of years. The problem is that she has "her" songs downloaded on my computer. I would like to put "some" of her songs on my iPod, but not all of them. How do I only put some of them on mine without downloading ALL of them?? Why can't there be two separate libraries for two separate people?
    Also... my daughter wants to know how to delete songs from her library. Can anyone help?

    My fathers music in in the 'My music' folder..Inside that folder I have 3 items..
    1)itunes music library..which has a series of scripts
    2)itunes library..which has a music symbol and the word data behind it.. when trying to access it send me to windows page asking for extension
    3) itunes music which has my fathers music located inside
    with that being said...
    explain to me in simplest form...how you would go in and change login so when I open up itunes itll show a blank libary where I can inport my songs...

    What exactly are you trying to do? Bookmarks can be opened in tabs, a list of web pages can be opened, etc. If you are wanting to do something like get a bunch of links from a web page somewhere and then just touch the linked pages, an AppleScript action can be written to step through each item in the list (wherever you are getting the links from) and set the URL of the front document, otherwise you will wind up with a whole bunch of windows or tabs. There may also be page load timing issues if you are wanting to open them one at a time, so it would help to have some clarification.

    Please help...I was able to put my music on my ipod video but I can not get the movies that I have in my itunes file onto my ipod. They show in itunes under library and not video. I bought quick time 7 pro and followed the directions to export to ipod it took a full 24 hour day to export and when it was done I have no idea where the new file is or what to do with it.
