Help on File Adapter

Hi,
I am working on Database adapter. I am using "Pull for a New or Changed record in a table" to fetch the values form the table if the table is updated. But after fetching the values are deleted form the tables, instead i want to fetch the copy of the values from he tables. How do I do this?
Can any one please help me on this.
Thanks
Ramana.

    We have an SAP system exchanging data with an ftp server.
    RFC from the SAP system gives Advanced Shipment Notice(ASN) as the output.
    It gives header items in one table and line itmes in another table. The key between the header and line items is the shipment ID.
    Each header item can have N line items.
    Our goal is to create a separate file for each of the header items.
    The above file is an xml file has one header item and the corresponding line items.
    Can any one help me with this?

  • Need help in file adapter configuration

    Hi,
       i am working on sps13 . while i am configuring the file adapter for sender        communication channel  i got a compulsary field "Queue Name" in processing
    parameters . what should i make entry in that field ? plz....do reply.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Lakhman ,
    The parameter QualityOfService specifies how the Integration Engine should process a message. The following values are permitted:
    1)BE(Best Effort: synchronous processing). If QualityOfService is BE, the client is sent the final status for the processing.
    2)EO(Exactly Once: asynchronous processing with guaranteed execution exactly once). If QualityOfService is EO,processing occurs asynchronously and the client only recieves a confirmation of reciept with HTTP status '200'.
    3)EOIO(Exactly Once in Order: asynchronous processing using queues, that is, guaranteed execution exactly once and maintaining the sequence of successive messages). If QualityOfService is EOIO,processing occurs asynchronously and the client only recieves a confirmation of reciept with HTTP status '200'.
    Since u had choosen EOIO ,You must also define a queue name for EOIO:
    XI.QueueId=<QueueName>
    This queue name is used in the Integration Engine to process messages in the same sequence that they arrived in.
    This QueueName can consist of a maximum of 16 characters. If the first 8 characters contain 'SAP_ALE_', these r removed since this value is reserved by SAP and used internally.
    If a value is not specified for QualityOfService , the default value 'BE' is used.

  • Need help in file adapter file format

    While accessing an exeL (.xls)file as input using file adapter what will be the format of the sample file. If i give .txt then it is not showing any column.

    BPEL cannot read excel files without some custom java code. If you want to do just pass through you can use opaque message type.
    If you need to do transformation your file needs to be text based. So if you convert you xls file to a csv file you will be fine. Renaming the extension is not enough.
    There are many solutions out there for reading excel files.
    cheers

  • Sender File Adapter-Content conversion for a tab delimited file

    Hi all,
    I have a FIle to IDoc scenario, where the File is with the structure Header,Detail,Trailer.
    Header and Trailer are with fixed field lengths, whereas the detail records are tab delimited.(Functional spec says delimited by H'05').
    I have given the parameters as follows:
    Header.keyFieldValue     H
    Header.fieldFixedLengths     1,1,4,1,8
    Header.fieldNames     a,b,c,d,e
    Header.endSeparator     'nl'
    Detail.fieldNames     a,b,c,d,e,f
    Detail.fieldSeparator     '0h05'
    Detail.keyFieldValue     LOA
    Detail.endSeparator     'nl'
    Trailer.fieldFixedLengths     1,1,8
    Trailer.fieldNames     a,b,c
    Trailer.keyFieldValue     T
    ignoreRecordsetName     true
    In SXMB_MONI, I get the payload with just the Header and Trailer and not the detail records, even though my file has so many records in it.I m pretty sure, this happens because of my Detail.fieldSeparator parameter.
    Can anyone please help me with this?What is the correct value for this parameter?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Anjana.

    first of all make sure with a hex editor that the hex code of the delimiter sign is really 05. This is an odd character, as the normal tab is hex 09.
    when you have confimred it, check online help for file adapter config for the correct entry of hex codes. I think it is something like '0x05',

    Check this out -
    Oracle JCA Adapter for Files/FTP - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.6.3)
    4.2.13 File-Based Triggers
    You can use the Oracle File and FTP Adapters, which provide support for file-based triggers, to control inbound adapter endpoint activation. For information about how to use file-based triggers, see Section 4.3.1.4, "File Polling."
    Using Trigger Files
    By default, polling by inbound Oracle File and FTP Adapters start as soon as the endpoint is activated. However, to obtain more control over polling, you can use a file-based trigger. Once the Oracle File or FTP Adapter finds the specified trigger file in a local or remote directory, it starts polling for the files in the inbound directory.
    For example, a BPEL process is writing files to a directory and a second BPEL process is polling the same directory for files. To have the second process start polling the directory only after the first process has written all the files, you can use a trigger file. You can configure the first process to create a trigger file at the end. The second process starts polling the inbound directory after it finds the trigger file.
    The trigger file directory can be the same as the inbound polling directory or different from the inbound polling directory. However, if your trigger file directory and the inbound polling directory are the same, then you should ensure that the name of the trigger file is not similar to the file filter specified in the Adapter Configuration page shown in Figure 4-21.
    The content of a trigger file is never read and therefore should not be used as payload for an inbound receive activity.

  • Archive file with errors in sender file adapter not working! please help!

    Hi Experts,
       I have a file to RFC scenario. the input is a XML file. I have setup the flag in sender file adapter channel for archiving the input files with errors. But it is not working.
    For testing I have used an invalid xML file for example without the main XML tag. I have also tested with a MSWORD file saved with.xml extension. But in both the cases the files are not getting archived.
    My archive location permissions are fine and in fact normal archive operation is happening. That is, if I select the processing mode as "Archive" and gave the Archive directory then files are getting archived. The problem is only with the "Archive faulty source files" option.
    What am I missing? DO I need to do some more configurations?
    What are the prerequisites if any for this option?
    How to test this?
    Please help me! I will be greatfull to you all!

  • Need Help-SOA 11g File Adapter unable to delete input file and its crashing

    Hi All
    Please find the details below:
    1. We have created a simple SOA composite to Read file from an input directory, archive the file in an archive directory using Inbound File Adapter Read
    and then use Outbound File Adapter Write to move the file to a output directory.
    2. File Adapter needs to delete the file after successful read/retrieval.
    3. We are using the "Use Trigger File" for invoking the file adapter. This is a new feature in SOA 11g
    4. Also we are using the option of reading the file as an attachment as we are not doing any transformation in the composite
    Issue Details_
    1. When the trigger file is put in the input directory for the first time, the File Adapter reads the file, archives it and moves it to the output directory
    2. However it does not delete the input file from the input directory and raises Fatal Exception mentioned below:

    Hi,
    Using the file adapter, you can poll from multilple locations...
    Keep the following property in your .jca file
    <property name="DirectorySeparator" value="," />
    While giving the path in File Adapter configuration, keep comma and give the next location....then the file will be picked up from the locations you gave....
    Hope this helps...

  • Need help with a simple process with FTP Adapter and File Adapter

    I am trying out a simple BPEL process that gets a file in opaque mode from a FTP server using a FTP adapter and writes it to the local file system using a File Adapter. However, the file written is always empty (zero bytes). I then tried out the FTPDebatching sample using the same FTP server JNDI name and this work fine surprisingly. I also verified by looking at the FTP server logs that my process actually does hit the FTP server and seems to list the files based on the filtering condition - but it does not issue any GET or RETR commands to actually get the files. I am suspecting that the problem could be in the Receive, Assign or Invoke activities, but I am not able identify what it is.
    I can provide additional info such as the contents of my bpel and wsdl files if needed.
    Would appreciate if someone can help me with this at the earliest.
    Thanks

  • File Adapter Module - Help

    Hi
    For a file adapter I had enabled the option <b>Archieve File</b> in my communication channel. So the system will put the file in the archieve folder after it is read. My requirement is to check if the file already exits in the archieve folder or not. Any means of checking it? or shud i make use of adapter modules? If yes kindly point some helpful tips on the same.
    Kindly fwd any useful doc to [email protected]
    regds
    prabhu

    Prabhu,
    The os command in the file adapter should exists in the XI server only.
    Whatever command you provide in the Adapter will result in the SID+"ADM" user id exectuing this command at the oS level of your XI server.
    So this script should exist on the XI server.
    Now, if the archive directory is on the FTP server you will have to connect to the FTP server from the script and check if the file exists and then do the needful.
    Check this blog out for executing Scripts on file adapters,

  • How to generate file name dynamically in receiver FIle adapter? Please help

    Dear Experts,
       I have a scenario where I need to generate output file with the name dynamically pulled from the XI payload.
       In receiver File communication channel I don't see any option where we can specify the XML path for the file name.
       For example:
       If my inbound XML structure (inbound interface) is like below:
       <filename>file123.txt</filename>
       <RootNode>
             <Element1>Product123</Element1>
       <RootNode>
      From this I need to pick the filename value and generate the output file with the same value.
      How can I achieve this? Please help!
    Thanks & Regards

    Edited by: gopalkrishna baliga on May 3, 2011 1:10 PM

    Gopal,
    You can use DynamicConfiguration class for this.
    You need to write UDF for this and with input of filename you want to set and map this UDF to the top level node.
    Refer the below famous blog from Micheal:
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    You can also use Variable substitution to get value from payload, search SDN on this.

    Thanks for your response.
    I am not sure if there is any easier way, but I tried out the following tool available on the net to check an xml against a xsd:
    http://tools.decisionsoft.com/schemaValidate/
    There were a few issues, that I corrected and finally had a xsd and xml that were matching and valid. I tried this out in my file reading BPEL process, but the error still remained the same!
    Here is my updated/simplified xsd and xml:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <xs:schema targetNamespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xmlfile"
    xmlns:tns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xmlfile"
    xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xmlfile">
    <xs:element name="revision-report">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element maxOccurs="unbounded" ref="alternategroup"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    <xs:attribute name="doc" use="required" type="xs:string"/>
    <xs:attribute name="model" use="required" type="xs:string"/>
    <xs:attribute name="pubdate" use="required" type="xs:string"/>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    <xs:element name="alternategroup">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:attribute name="Name" use="required" type="xs:string"/>
    <xs:attribute name="Desc" use="required" type="xs:string"/>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:schema>
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <revision-report doc="doc2" model="model4" pubdate="pubdate5" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xmlfile">
    <alternategroup Name="ABC" Desc="ABC-Desc"/>
    <alternategroup Name="DEF" Desc="DEF-Desc"/>
    <alternategroup Name="GHI" Desc="GHI-Desc"/>
    </revision-report>
    I even tried the option that is available in JDeveloper to generate a sample xml from a xsd (when in the context of a Transformation activity). The xml generated by this also seems exactly like the one above.
    So, I am not able to figure out why my BPEL process errors out with the message Invalid xml document.

  • New Bee, Help File Adapter

    Hi ,
       I am new to XI , I have a basic question on file adapter.
        I have configured a file adapter to pick a file with name abc.txt and delete it. Assumes my total scenario takes 30 min to complete. If i get another file in the source folder after 5 min. Does XI process the second file also parallel. Or does it finish first file and then process the second file?
    Regards
    Monika Dietz

    Hi,
    >>>>Or does it finish first file and then process the second file?
    the file adapter will pick the file as soon as possible
    from the folder but you can set quality of service
    EOIO so it will wait until the first one will finish
    (and other parameters in the integration eigine
    so your flow will be processed by one queue only)
    but basically it will be processed in paralel
    (with standard config)
