HELP ON LOGIN AND UPLOAD PAGE

hi there. I currently design a website for a rugby club, and need to allow access to the coach to upload the team every Thursday. There is no point in putting Dreamweaver on his PC so would like to add a page where he logs in (he will be the only one with the login details) and then that will direct him to a page so that he can upload the team. I would like the upload set up as a spread sheet so that he can just type the players name and click ok to upload it. I really needs to be that simple for him otherwise he'll get confused. PLEASE CAN YOU HELP????

While Im not sure I understand, and I dont know what you mean by "upload the team", it sounds like any blogging program would fit the bill. You might want to look at Wordpress for that.
If the uploading of the team is replacing last weeks file for this weeks file and you dont care about keeping a record of all the files, you could simply make this a SSI (Server Side Include) and let the coach overwrite the file and upload it, I would think Contribute or even a simple FTP program would do the trick.
You could also write a form that only the coach would have and it would update the page or file in question,

Developing a login and registration page

Can someone tell me what would be a good way to create a

If you end database will be SQL2005 why are mucking around
with MySQL. You
can download a copy of SQL Express for development purposes.

Apache login and upload

I have just set up apache and I was wondering if it is possible to set up a web page in it that would require a login. Once logged in, I would like to be able to upload files from a different computer (for example, while im at school) to my computer at home. If so, could sombody point me in the right direction for the code to do it? Also, is it possible to be windows compatable to?
The reason I want to do this is because it would be nice be able to work on my files while im at school and then simply upload them so I can have them when I come home from school!

There are several ways of doing what you want. Let's first talk about the hard ones.
1- Use a .htaccess file. You may find info on how to do this here or here or just search Google for .htaccess. After placing the file you will need to change the permissons in a folder in your /Library/WebServer/Documents/ so it can be written and write the code to upload/download the files.
2- Enable FTP in System Preferences > Sharing and then use an FTP cliente on the Windows side (or just use the command line if you are comfortable with it.
Now the easy ones.
1- Download Plone from here, install (it's very easy) and set it up (also extremely easy) and use the tools there to upload and download files. There's no need to delve into the UNIX world of permissions and stuff like that.
2- Download and install Moodle or Mambo (I prefer Moodle). It's a little harder than Plone because you will need to enable PHP and install mySQL, but still easier than my first solution.

Help with pagination and conditional page breaks

I have a rather complex form where pages are added based on what the user has entered in a table with repeatable rows. For most of the pages, conditional page breaks are working fairly well, but I have a group of pages with nested subforms that need page breaks. The inner subform is breaking as expected, but the parent page break isn't triggering for some reason.
Is this a bug within Livecycle or is it possible to fix?

If you have older versions of excel and word that previously ran under the Rosetta emulator (allows PowerPC code to run on Intel system), they will no longer work with Lion.
You can use the Apple programs Pages and Numbers to access the files. They can be bought and downloaded from the App store. NeoOffice is available at http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php which has Lion support. OpenOffice doesn't talk to Lion support, it's at http://www.openoffice.org/

I was reading in Wiki APEX and I found this line mentioned as cons: "Page-embedded Javascript and uploaded images are not cached".
The question that I have posted many questions here how to enable the cache for Images and Javascripts but didn't get it right, is the wiki info right about the cache for images and JS?

the only drawback with #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# and #APP_IMAGES# is that it doesn't get cached by the browser. So each page request will transmit the hole file again. A caching option for the "Static Files" in the Shared Components would be nice :-)
About lazy loading with the #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#. I could think about a mod_rewrite rule which translates the additional file request of the JS library into a valid request for APEX.

Help needed with header and upload onto business catalyst

Can someone help with a problem over a header please?
I have inserted a rectangle with a jpeg image in background, in the 'header' section, underneath the menu. It comes up fine on most pages when previsualised, going right to the side of the screen, but stops just before the edge on certain pages. I have double checked that I have placed it in the right place in relation to the guides on the page.
That's one problem.
The second problem is that I tried to upload onto business catalyst, which got to 60% and refused to go any further, saying it couldn't find the header picture, giving the title and then u4833-3.fr.png. The picture is in the right folder I have double checked. And it isn't a png. Does it have to be ?
And the third problem is that I got an email following my upload from business catalyst in Swedish. I am living in France.

How can I check the preview in other browsers before I publish a provisional site with BC?
The rectangle width issue happens on certain pages but not others. The Welecom page is fine when the menu is active, also the contact page, but others are slightly too narrow. Changing the menu spacing doesn’t help - I was already on uniform but tried changing to regular and back.
In design mode the rectangle is set to the edge of the browser, that’s 100%browser width right?
Re BC I have about 200 images on 24 different pages and it seems to be having difficulty uploading some of them. But it has managed a couple I named with spaces but not others I named with just one name.
Is there an issue on size of pictures ? If I need to replace is there a quick way to rename and relink or do I have to insert the photos all over again?
I’m a novice with Muse with an ambitious site !

- Have you checked the preview in Muse and also in other browsers ?
- Does the rectangle width issue happens when menu is active , or in any specific state , Try to change the menu with uniform spacing and then check.
- In design view the rectangle is set to 100% browser width ?
With publishing :
- Please try to rename the image file and then relink
- If it happens with other images as well , see if all the image names includes strange characters or spaces.
- Try again to publish
With e-mail from BC :
- Under preferences , please check the country selected.
- If you have previously created partner account in BC and selected country and language then it would follow that, please check that.

Any recommendations on how to upload pages, numbers and keynote to my 08 macbook with mac os x 10.5.8

I bought a used macbook recently; when I turned it on, it needed some updates. I do not have Office, but I would like to upload Pages, Numbers and Keynote to be able to work with some of the Office documents.

No, it doesn't make sense.
www.cafc.ca is not a page. It's a URL. The page is
www.cafc.ca/index.html . That's what the server wants to look
for to
deliver to the browser.
Now, as for your index3.html page: there is nothing in that
page. No
code. No links. No images. Nada.
So either (1) you didn't send the index3.html page that you
created
properly to your host's tech support people, or (2) they
messed up
when they put the page online.
But there really is nothing there.

What exactly are you referring to? Are the menus or templates for Pages in a different language? Does something strange appear on the screen when you type?
Could you perhaps use the Camera icon here to post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
To make sure you have the right keyboard, go to system preferences/language & text/input sources and make sure that only the box for US or British is checked (and that the box for French or German or anything else is not checked).
