Help on se11

hi gurus,
i am using version ecc 6.0.
in the menu bar we have extrasenhacement category-we get a scrren having some radio buutons. but for our tables it is set as not classified. i need to change all the customs tables with option as could be enhanced . can anyone plz help me in this aspect.

Depending on the structure definition, the radio buttons allowed in the dialog box are ready for input. Choose one of the possible enhancement categories:
Cannot be enhanced
The structure must not be enhanced.
Can be enhanced or character type
All structure components and their enhancements must be character-type (C, N, D, or T). The original structure and all enhancements through Customizing includes or through append structures are subject to this limitation.
Can be enhanced or character-type or numeric
The structure and its enhancement must not contain any deep data types (tables, references, strings).
Can be enhanced in any way
The structure and its enhancement may contain components whose data type can be of any type.
Not classified
This category can be chosen, for example, for a transition status; however, it must not be chosen for creating structures.
The rules for defining the enhancement category result implicitly from the structure setup and the classification of the types used. These rules are as follows:
If the object contains at least one numeric type or a substructure or component (field has a structure/table/view as its type) that can be enhanced numerically, the object can no longer be enhanced character-type, but is itself, at most, enhanceable character-type or numeric.
If the object contains a deep component (string, reference, or table type), or it contains a substructure or component that is marked as enhanceable in any way, then the object itself is enhanceable in any way.
If the object does not contain any substructure or component that is marked as enhanceable, you can select cannot be enhanced. If the structure has not yet been enhanced, you can choose the categorycannot be enhanced in any case.
If you are creating new tables and structures in the ABAP Dictionary, the system proposes the category can be enhanced in any way as standard value for the classification of the enhancement options.
If the developer chooses a more restrictive classification than can be enhanced in any way for a particular structure, then only the classification levels that adhere to the rules above are allowed. It is not possible to choose an enhancement option of a structure that is more restrictive than the classification resulting immplicitly from the structure setup and from the classification of the types used. Therefore, only the allowed categories are proposed for selection in the maintenance user interface.
If a structure depends on one or several other structures, the smallest category is chosen as implicit classification (in the order cannot be enhanced < can be enhanced and character-type < can be enhanced and character-type or numeric < can be enhanced in any way). This classification is greater than or less than the category in the other structures and also greater than or the same as the category that results from the actual setup in the original structure itself.

I am trying to add the ZF4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE to search help exit in SE11 for search help LART . But system is asking for the access key.
Is there any way we can achieve this with out using access key?

Hi,
To add a Search help exit goto SE11 -> in Search help option enter 'LART' -> click on display.
once you have entered in you will have to click on change button. This will give on information message first, then it will ask if you have to maintain in the original language itself(only if you have logged in with any language other than DE). You can select your option in that then you will be able to view the same in EDIT mode. now you can go ahead and add your search help exit.

Search Help with value on SE11

Hi Gurus,
I have two parameters on my screen, PARTNER and PSOBKEY. I have created a Search Help on SE11 for the second parameter, and this search help has that 2 parameters too.
First I enter PARTNER, then I open the search help for PSOBKEY, and I want the value on PARTNER to be on the search help.
How I can do this from the SE11?

Hi Garibaldi,
In your search help the PARTNER should be one of the search help parameters. It should be marked as IMP (Import) parameter. The name of this parameter in the search help should be same as that on your screen. The parameter PSOBKEY would be the EXP (Export) parameter of your search help.
If you maintain above things, when you enter the PARTNER field on the screen and open the search help of PSOBKEY, the value of the PARTNER screen field would be automatically copied and imported into your search help.

There are different ways of using the search help created by SE11 depending on the kind of application you are using.
1. Search help can be attached to a DATA ELEMENT under the tab FURTHER CHARACTERISTICS.
Now wherever this data element will be used, automatically the search help will be available on the output screen. e.g. in selection screen using parameters statement etc.
PARAMETERS: P_VAL1 TYPE Z_DATAELE.
2. Search help can be also attached to database table fields directly in the tab Entry help/check. Now wherever this database table field is used e.g. in SELECT-OPTIONS statment, the search help will be automatically available on output selection screen.
3. Also, search helps can be directly used in the programs using function modules and event.
PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.
FIELD <f> MODULE <mod>.
Here in the module, you can use following function module for fetching the search help on the screen.
F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST
4. Search help can be direclty attached to the selection screen statements like SELECT-OPTIONS using MATCHCODE object extension
SELECT-OPTIONS: LP_STATS FOR TJ30-ESTAT MATCHCODE OBJECT ZH_TJ30 NO-EXTENSION NO INTERVALS.

I want f4 help whose value depends on the other fields drop down.somhow i managed to get the values in local table and passed it to static attribute of the z class ZL_CRM_UIU_ZZORDERADM_H0201_G.

How to add search help for field in ALV object

In a program, we use ALV object ( container) to create a liste like : field1, field2 .. but when display we do not have search help for this . Could you please help me how to add match code in this case for field 1 and field2, We use set_table_for_first_display

Hi,
when you define your field catalogue you can create data elements with search help in se11 and use them for field 1 and field 2.
But maybe it is enough to use data elements belonging to a domain with a value help and to set field F$AVAILABL in the field catalogue or to fill the name of the field CHECKTABLE.

F4 - Help for field in ALV Grid Output

Hi,
I generated a report which gives output in ALV Grid output.
In the output, 1 of the field is editable.Here, for this field I need to have my own F4-Help.
I think the procedure to be followed is:--
Create a Search Help in SE11.
Link the Search Help to the editable field.
Please let me know if its the correct procedure.
I f yes, how can I link user defined Search Help to the editable field?

Search help how to restrict number of hits.

Hi,
I have created a search help in SE11, the search help reads a table view and the search help is connected to
exit HRMC_PREM_EXIT_A in HR. Everything works fine except for that I want to restrict the number of hits to 500, I don't want to get a result of 5000 hits because that search takes too long time.

F4 help for the batch field in VL02N transaction

We have upgraded our system from 4.6 to ecc 6.0 .In 4.6 the f4 help for the batch had " Batch selection via plant/Material/Storage location/Batch " which is not there in ECC 6.0.
Please tell us the procedure to add in the existing search help H_MCHA in ECC 6.0

F4 help for address field

Hi,
In BP_CONT component, for address field I need to provide F4 help. And the F4 should contain the addresses with separate fields as (city.street,country).On selecting the row the data should flow as concatenated manner to the address field.

I would like to add what Vinamra has said, you need to create a search help through se11 transaction. As per your requirement you need to map address field of the selected row to different fields in UI.
In search help we have IMPORTING(IMP) and EXPORTING(EXP) Fields or parameter.
Lets take a simple example, suppose you have three address field house no, street and city. Now you would like to apply F4 help on CITY field so you need to choose CITY field as IMPORTING and EXPORTING parameter in your search help and other fields like HOUSE NO and STREET as EXPORTING parameter only.
Now following code you need write in GET_V_CITY() method

Please let me know how to create a search help exit as well as how to link it to my search help.

1)Copy the FM F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE to write your own FM. (check the documentation and coding of FM F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE).
2)write your code depending upon the functionality you want.
3)attach the FM in search help through SE11 in "search help exit" field.
A search help exit is a function module for making the input help process described by the search help more flexible than possible with the standard version.
This function module must have the same interface as function module F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE. The search help exit may also have further optional parameters (in particular any EXPORTING parameters).
A search help exit is called at certain timepoints in the input help process.
Note: The source text and long documentation of the above-specified function module (including the long documentation about the parameters) contain information about using search help exits.
Function modules are provided in the function library for operations that are frequently executed in search help exits. The names of these function modules begin with the prefix F4UT_. These function modules can either be used directly as search help exits or used within other search help exits. You can find precise instructions for use in the long documentation for the corresponding function module.
This module has been created as an example for the interface and design of Search help exits in Search help.
All the interface parameters defined here are mandatory for a function module to be used as a search help exit, because the calling program does not know which parameters are actually used internally.
A search help exit is called repeatedly in connection with several events during the F4 process. The relevant step of the process is passed on in the CALLCONTROL step. If the module is intended to perform only a few modifications before the step, CALLCONTROL-STEP should remain unchanged.
However, if the step is performed completely by the module, the following step must be returned in CALLCONTROL-STEP.
For more detailed information please refer to the documentation describing the concept of the search help exit.

Value is not populating in field through search help f4

What is the significance of data collection nad search help exit field ?

SE11 -> SEACH HELP -> ELEMENTARY SEARCH HELP
I have doubts regarding to fields "DATA COLLECTION" and "SEARCH HELP EXIT".
reference to a tutorial it is a maintenance view shall i have to reate a maintenace view first.
and other field is SEARCH HELP EXIT what is this.
please help me .

Howdy,
DATA COLLECTION - refers to a database table or view. This is the data that the search help will search through and display based on the parameters provided, so you can create your own view for the search help if you want the search to cover multiple tables.
SEARCH HELP EXIT - You can create a function module to be able to alter the Search Help's selection and results at various events throughout the search help. An example of this function module is provided with some documentation in function module F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE.

Search Help Selection Screen Window Title

Hi Experts,
I have created a search help in se11 with import as well as export parameter.
While I press F4 on the field to which it is assigned then Search Help seelction screen opens up with a Window Tilte 'Sede Tecnica(1)' i.e. some standard text.
Can I change this F4 window title to user custom label?

Hi Abhi,
Try using any one option:
Create a Search Help in SE11.
Now Goto SE11 -> Enter Ztable -> Select that field -> Click Search Help and try to assign the created Search help to that field in your Ztable explicitly
OR
Create a Zdata element in SE11.
In Data Element, under Further Characteristics tab, enter Name Parameters of Search Help.
Assign this data element to that field in ur Ztable.
OR
Create a Zdomain and maintain a Value Table or Fixed Values for it.
Assign this domain to that field in ur Ztable.
