Help please .. Automatic code analysis tool

Hi,
I have written some action script for my project and i am
required to do a static code analysis on it.
I do not know any source code analyzers that support
actionscript particularly like fortify and ounce labs which
support Java script but not action script.Please suggest me
an tool that can do analysis for me.

Thank you very much for your reply, i think i should rephrase
my question to make it even clear.
I am looking for a tool to detect Buffer overflows, memory
leaks, security vulnerabilities, string vulnerabilities, Race
conditions. I am sorry i think by mentioning security i gave the
impression of protection my application from external intrusion.
But this is what i meant. For example, My project also includes C#
usage and i have options like fortifysoftware, ouncelabs
,parasoft's .TEST, FxCop (microsoft) to help me do static analysis
on my C# code. I need some tool like these for action
scripts.Please let me know if you need more explanation.

Source code analysis tools for ActionScript 2?

I have been tasked with performing source code analysis on a very large (>1000 files) AS2 codebase.
Not surprisingly, Googling is not yielding useful results. Before declaring defeat, I felt it important to query this forum.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

We'd like to evaluate the hundreds of files using a static analysis tool, just as one would use lint for a C codebase.

Java code analyser tool?

Hi all,
I remember once seeing a freeware tool that analysed code and identified unused methods/fields, and gave tips on what to change to improve the code, e.g. method/class length. Theres a similar tool in InteliJ. Does anybody know of such a tool?

Also note that quite a few IDEs have this feature,
too. An example is WebSphere ApplicationDeveloper.
I bet NetBeans and Eclipse have this if not
t buitl-in, then as add-ins.I went through all of JBuilder's 106 coding style

I am looking for any 3rd party tools to analyze LabVIEW and/or TestStand code. Looking for tools that will check for memory leaks, timing, and any other code performance problems. I know LabVIEW has the profiler tool, but I am looking for 3rd party tools.

I am personally not aware of any 3rd party tools that do the same thing as the Profiler, but I can say that if you'd like to analyze a .VI or .seq file, the most straightforward way to do so would be with the appropriate National Instruments software.

Help with mdb core analysis tool

Hi,
We are having a possibly memory leak problem but we don't know for sure. In order to find out if there any memory leaks, we are trying to use "mdb" tool that comes along with Solaris (version: SunOS romeo 5.10 Generic_125100-10 sun4v sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-T200). Problem is when I run "mdb" the module "libumem.so.1" is not loaded. This is what I get
$$mdb core.25688
Loading modules: [ libc.so.1 libuutil.so.1 ld.so.1 ] I have set the following:
UMEM_DEBUG=default
UMEM_LOGGING=transaction
LD_PRELOAD=libumem.so.1
But still no luck. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to load libumem.so.1 module?

HELP PLEASE error code -36

I Have a MAC PRO, which I use for Photography. I have 2 external hard drives (WD 500GB)for storing my images. Just the other day loading images on and got this message ( The Finder cannot complete the operation because some of the data in smb://..... could not be read or written. (Error code -36). I am using a NIKON D200. Can anyone help.

I just bought 2 new elements western digital 320 gig hardisk...
THis is what happened.
I was trying to load movie files in both of my HArd disk. I loaded the first harddisk from a PC successfully, .. Then I bought a new MACbook with leopard, 2 gig processor, 2 gig ram.
I tried using the new macbook to copy the files of the first haddisk to the 2nd harddisk.
then I got error code 36 ..this is the exact error.
<The finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "elephantdreamhd.avi" could not be read or written. (Error code-36)>
I was so disappointed. Good thing I didnt trow my old acer PC,aspire 5672wlmi,1.66gig processor,1gig ram, that i used to load the 1st HD. I tried to copy all the files from first HD to the 2nd HD and it is successful using the PC. no problems at all.
When I finish copying,, i tried to replicate the problem again in MAC by deleting the file that has caused the error in MAC and recopying again using macbook,, and viola,,same error in mAC,,.error code 36..
actually i'm copying a lot of avi files, then i first encountered the error, i just tried deselecting the file that caused the error, then again , it errors out again for a different file. IN pc, no problems at all.
I don't think the problem is in the HD, both my HD are new and i don't think the problem is only the files. ANd when i tried copying the same files in PC, there were no problems at all. I think the problem is with the MACBOOK. I think finder has a bug.
I'm a new PC to mac user. I though i will shift to mac permanently, just like most of the people i knew. I thought i'd be one of them because I read a lot of good this about the mac OS already but because of this error 36, i now having a second thought.
I already read a lot of forums about error code 36, and I did not find any solution.

Have no on demand services working at all now, have restarted the box and on demand works for about 1 min into programme and then freezes and box either restarts or shows this message Code 0 TV2RescourceLoadException:Failed to load resourse
WebException:The remote name could not be resolved
SocketException:No such host known.
It is NOT a speed issue line speed sitting at 38megs as I type this.

we have a cutomized application on oracle 10g(10.2.0.1),SUNOS.we are planning to upgrade the database from 10g to 11g and we are aware that this application will not work when migrating directly to11g.we would like to know whether there is any specific tool to determine possible functional impact to application and effort it takes to correct it.

And just how is it that you 'are aware that this application will not work when migrating'?
No 'tool' will be able to adequately determine the 'possible functional impact' to your application.
That is why you need to create a suitable 'test' environment and the appropriate tests.
One possible way forward is to upgrade to the new release but set the 'compatibility' flag to the old release to minimize Oracle's use of new features/functionality that might cause issues.

Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.
You could just update or uninstall the security software on your computer and then test again.

Is it not possible to create a text box, fill it with dynamic (data driven) text, but make the font size either scale up or down automatically, so that the entire text box is filled? This is a feature in PrintShop Mail Pro called COPY FIT. but no such feature in Indesign??

lol... it seems to work, but I have another huge problem!
Apparently .CSV files cannot contain page breaks in the data! The data I am trying to merge is a 'letter', with paragraphs, line breaks, etc.,
But, after data merging, it ignores page breaks and only merges the first paragraph of each letter. (sigh)
Solution? Hopefully, an EASY solution. lol as we have thousands of records.
Is there a third party indesign plugin that will allow .xml, or .xls data merge import??

Hi All, thank you for you suggestions. I have been unable to find any website for the maker, but have looked at several Thai/cambodian sites incl <http://www.buycoms.com/Article/8435/index.asp> which mentions the keyboard being suitable for tablet or windows. No mention of iMac! although the box is branded to indicate Mac compatable.
I'm thinking that maybe it just will not pair with an iMac.
Ill keep looking for the maker website, which might come on later in the future? maybe?

Things to try:
Try resetting your phone (press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds until the Apple logo appears. When you see the Apple logo let go of both buttons and your iPhone will reboot.
Try a new sync cable (often the problem)
Make sure you phone is adequately charged
Make sure you are using latest version of iTunes

Hello. The problem comes when I try to use the " Speech Analysis" tool in Adobe Premier CC .
In the process of export , the Media Encoder uses the .AIFF format and not in the format .CIT
And in Adobe Premier shows no text Metadata section .

Hi Ani,
Once you specify the Format (along side the Map date), if the Mapping is proper, the light will be green. Are you getting a GREEN light?
If everything is proper you will get green light on ALL 4 steps which you have selected. Even if BP is not created & no batch job created, you should get GREEN on Upload File & Map data.
Once the Mapping is correct, BP still might not get created since you might not have entered some mandatory fields or the mapping is not proper to the BP transaction (this can be viwed by clicking the RED button)
In your case, you are not getting any of these. That seems either you Mapping Format is wrong or there is somehting wrong in System (in which case, better go for an OSS). If you are not even getting a RED button, I cant help
