Help please Ipod dead

I have a 3rd gen ipod nano that will not even respond.I can not reset it at all.It is just dead.
It will not react when plugged in and I get no message when I plug the cord into it.

You may have totally depleted the battery. Connect it to a power source (a wall charger works best for this), let it charge for at least 30 minutes then Reset the iPod (turn the hold switch off [no orange showing] and hold down the menu and center buttons for six seconds, you may have to try this several times.). When it revives, fully charge it.

HELP PLEASE iPod Touch 4G went brown, then static, then turned off

I was listening to music and looking at photos when my screen flashed brown, then then that static that comes up on a TV came on, then turned off. It isn't turning back on, last week when I connected it to a computer it made a noise, but it's been plugged in for the last 30 minutes and nothings come up on iTunes.
I've tried holding the sleep and home button... IT DOESNT WORK.
Help please!

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I need desperate help on a life or death matter so any help would be much appreciated.
OK - I had my itunes (4) on my work computer I no longer have that computer or that itunes. I have all my music still stored on my ipod. How do I get all my music back into a new itunes library?? Is my ipod compatible with itunes 7? I can still activate my ipod in itunes4 but whenever I go to download music it directly takes me to itunes 7 and states it is updating my library (ahhhh and I clearly don't want it to wipe my ipod).
Hope this all makes sense and there is someone out there ho can help.

OK, now I don't know what I did but I somehow deleted that whole CD ...I can't find it anywhere in my itunes or on my ipod..SO, anyway of getting it back without re-buying it again??

HELP PLEASE - ipod nano flashing icon to menu and won't turn off or work

I've been at this for almost 3 hours. I've:
checked the software is the latest.
Tried the 5 Rs;
checked it is fully charged;
THE PROBLEM:
My ipod generation 5 (which has been used about 6 times in 1.5 years) is turned on and flashes between the apple logo and the menu.
It won't accept anything I push button wise.
I'm near tears. This was a lot of money for me to outlay and it's now not working.
Does anyone know how I can fix this PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.

U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) and/or take the iPod to your local Apple Store or AASP. If you purchased AppleCare, call them. Let them deal w/it.

Need help please Ipod backing up

Alright my ipod isn't working right talked to a tech support from apple for 45 mins to try to fix it and the conclussion was as follows:
I need to send it in and have them repair/restore it.
Go to support forums and find a 3rd party program
while in disk mode restore ipod myself
I have a warranty but the thing is I have not got the chance to back up my 17 thousand songs or videos or pictures yet. I am in the Marine Corps and I move around a lot and I have not yet purchased my own computer so I never backed up my ipod. anyway to keep this short basically my ipod only gets reconized by itunes if its in Disk mode and I get a error message saying:
Itunes cannot read the contents of the Ipod "Mheuser IPO" go to summary tab in ipod preferences and click restore to restore this ipod to factory settings.
Thing is I don't want to do anything until i back up my files someway somehow do any of you know a program or anything out there that I can use to get my songs/video/pics off my ipod before I send it in? ALL and ANY help will be greatly appreciated.

Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
SharePod is also freeware.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.
The bottom line is that any method you choose depends on the iPod and it's contents being recognized by the computer.

Help Please - iPod

I have the folder with the exclamation point and have tried all of Apple's suggestions but it seems that my iPod restarts itself every 20 seconds or so after I toggle the switch or after it's done loading itself. Any suggestions are very much appreciated, thanks!

You need to put the iPod into "Forced Drive Mode". This basically involves holding down a couple of buttons when it's initially booting (showing the Apple Logo). Do a search for more info.
Anyway, in this mode, the iPod can't reset. It's stuck in forced drive mode until you manually reset the thing.
Well, actually it could reset if you disconnected the battery, I suppose.

Try resetting the Nano first to see if that helps. To do this, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
If the issue persists, connect the iPod to your iTunes library and restore it to factory settings.

Just sync. You can alway redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

After reviewing your post, the iPod is not recognized in iTunes. A frustrating situation to be sure. You haven't mentioned what OS the computer you are using uses. You can choose what article to use either OS X or Windows from this quoted section.

Have you tried another cable and USB port?
If you have OSX 10.6.8 on the computer did you look at the Additional Information paragraph of the article you cited?
Try on another computer to help determine if yo have an iPod or computer problem

I cannot update apps on ipod. Help please.

So before, i already posted a question about this and i just figured out that it is my internet conection that has the problem, not the ipod.
It seems that my internet connection or router settings has a problem connecting to my ipod or i don't know... Please help.
Usually, when there is an app update, a number pops up beside the app store icon, right?
And when you open the app store:
WHEN THERE IS AN APP UPDATE - it displays all the apps that needs to be updated
WHEN THERE'S NONE - it displays, ALL APPS ARE UP TO DATE.
My problem is...
When i connect to the internet at school, it shows the updates or the all apps are up to date when i go to the app store updates tab.
recently, i leave the update counter (the one beside the app store icon) until i get home so i can be sure there are apps that needs to be updated.
When i'm home and connect to the internet. Open the app store >updates tab:
WHEN THERE IS AN APP UPDATE - it keeps on loading.
WHEN THERE'S NONE - it keeps on loading.
And when there's an update counter and i connect to the app store at home, it disappears.
Please help.. i cannot update my apps on my ipod. There isn't any problem with my device. I just restored it and i started again from scratch. No pictures, music, just apps.
