Help.   Problem creating a visual graph.

I am creating a push down automata. Im getting a compile error when getting 2 nodes out of a vector and placing them in the parameters of an edge which is being placed in a separate vector. Here is some code to help explain:
public class Graph {
    Vector nodes;
    Vector edges;
    public Graph()
        nodes = new Vector();
        edges = new Vector();
        nodes.add(new Node(20, 20, '1')); //0
        nodes.add(new Node(200, 20,'2')); //1
        nodes.add(new Node(100, 100,'3')); //2
        edges.add(new Edge('a', nodes.get(0), nodes.get(1)));    //PROBLEM HERE
public class Node {
     Vector edges = new Vector();
     int x, y;
     char nLabel;
     boolean wasVisited;
    public Node(int x, int y, char label)
       nLabel = label;
       this.x = x;
       this.y = y;
       wasVisited=false;
public class Edge {
    char label;
    Node nodeOne;
    Node nodeTwo;
    public Edge(char lab, Node one, Node two)
        label = lab;
        nodeOne = one;
        nodeTwo = two;
    }in the graph class is where my error occurs, when im adding an edge to my edge vector.
I'm sure it has to be something pretty simple that im missing....or maybe something im just oblivious to.
thank you for the help.

Ok you have two options:
1) Use generics (recommended)
2) Casting
Declare the vectors as Vector<Node> and get information from [1] to learn about generics (very powerful feature and REALLY simple).
Or when you call the Edge constructor, do this:
edges.add(new Edge('a', (Node)nodes.get(0), (Node)nodes.get(1)));[1] http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5/pdf/generics-tutorial.pdf

  • Need help on creating customized visual datagrid

    Hi all,
    I am new to Flex and just downloaded the trial version of
    Flex Builder 3 to test it.
    Basically, what I need is a visual representation of some
    XML-data from a web-server.
    I have managed to use a HttpService-object to import the
    XML-file and also succesfully been able to show the data in a
    DataGrid.
    What I want now is to show the XML data in another visual
    context. I want some child elements in the XML-file to float in the
    Flex-page as graphical "bubbles" that floats around, so the user
    can click on one of them to select the specif child element in the
    XML-file.
    Have anyone of you guys any experience on how to make that
    possible? Any links to any resources etc?
    Thank you very much in advance,
    Lasse
    Denmark

    Hi Sreenivas,
    Thank you for your response!
    I've been taken a look on the Bubble Charts diagram, but that
    is not really what I am looking for.
    What I need is some bubbles floating randomly on the screen
    (perhaps moving around). From what I can see, the Bubble Charts
    diagram requires some predifined data to construct the position og
    size - I want that to be randomized (without the possibility that
    the bubbles float into each other).
    Can anybody help on that? Please let me know if the problem
    is not described clearly.

  • HELP: Problem creating a new database in Oracle 9i

    I am having difficulty in creating a new database in Oracle 9i, on Windows 2000. I would be obliged if somebody can go through the posting below and guide me as to what mistake I am making or what is the source of the problem:
    I reproduce the steps taken by me.
    I have decide the database to be called Mydb. I have made the following directories:
    -- d:\mydb
    -- d:\mydb\data
    -- d:\mydb\control
    -- d:\mydb\log
    -- d:\mydb\bdump
    -- d:\mydb\cdump
    -- d:\mydb\udump
    -- d:\mydb\archive
    -- d:\mydb\pfile
    -- d:\mydb\scripts
    -- d:\mydb\exp
    I copied the initoracle.ora file to d:\mydb\pfile\initmydb.ora, and made the following changes to it:
    -- db_name = mydb
    -- instance_name = mydb
    -- control_files = ("d:\mydb\control\control01.ctl")
    -- background_dump_dest = d:\mydb\bdump
    -- core_dump_dest = d:\mydb\cdump
    -- user_dump_dest = d:\mydb\udump
    -- remote_login_passwordfile = exclusive
    Also, I created a text file called d:\Oracle\Ora90\DATABASE\initmydb.ora with the following contents:
    ifile=d:\mydb\pfile\initmydb.ora
    At DOS prompt, I run the following command:
    set oracle_sid=mydb
    I run the ORAPWD utility to create internal password file at the command prompt.
    d:
    cd \oracle\ora90\database
    orapwd file=pwdmydb.ora password=panther entries=25
    I create a Windows service for the database as follows:
    oradim -new -sid mydb -startmode a -pfile d:\mydb\pfile\initmydb.ora
    I get connected:
    sqlplusw /nolog
    connect sys/change_on_install as sysdba
    startup nomount # pfile=d:\mydb\pfile\initmydb.ora
    create database mydb
    MAXINSTANCES 1
    MAXLOGHISTORY 1
    MAXLOGFILES 5
    MAXLOGMEMBERS 5
    MAXDATAFILES 100
    datafile 'd:\mydb\data\system.dbf' size 325m REUSE
    AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 10240K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
    undo tablespace undotbs datafile 'd:\mydb\data\undo01.dbf' size
    200m reuse
    AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 5120K MAXSIZE UNLIMITED
    default temporary tablespace temptbs
    CHARACTER SET WE8MSWIN1252
    NATIONAL CHARACTER SET AL16UTF16
    logfile group 1 ('d:\mydb\log\log1.log') size 1m,
    group 2 ('d:\mydb\log\log2.log') size 1m,
    group 3 ('d:\mydb\log\log3.log') size 1m;
    Now I get the following error:
    create database mydb
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced
    The data files, control file, redo log files are all created. But the above error comes, and I am unable to start the database. What is the reason?
    Thanks in anticipation.
    PS

    Hi DENIS,
    I have executed the following commands (which are in a script file),
    1. sqlplus /nolog
    2. connect sys/change_on_install as sysdba
    3. create database ...
    4. ...
    When I execute the 3rd command, I get an error message as "ORACLE TERMINATED FORCED" and it will end the session. So when the next set of commands in the script are executed, I got the error saying "DATABASE NOT OPEN".
    How to rectify this problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kiran

  • Help problem creating photo collage

    Windows 7 and windows 8 pc, same problem. Ive been using adobe photoshop elements for months and all of a sudden when i go to make photo collage, i get the message that adobe has stopped working and windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. So far i have tried resetting it by going to Edit menu, Preferences and General and clicking reset preferences on next launch and it didn't work. I also tried different sizes of photo collages and the problem only seems to happen when using 1 size of the collage. Please Help!

    Hi,
    I tested iChat 5.x
    The first time I set the Chat room to test monday 2 and it reported the space(s) were invalid
    Changed it to testmonday2 and hit the go button.
    No immediate response but just as I happened to click on a Buddy a chat window came up saying the room was empty.
    I closed the window and tried to repeat but got nowhere.
    I then tried the Right click and menu "Invite to Chat" and got told I had been removed from the testmondy2 room
    A third attempt got a "Could not Join Chatroom "testmoday2". An undefined AIM Socket Error has occurred." message.
    Each time there is a significant delay.
    After pause to type this I made a 4th attempt that was successful in displaying a Chat (room) Window.
    However I then tried adding a Screen name (my Second Account) but I had it open on both computers.
    The Host reported a AIM error and the Second computer (the G4 I am typing this on) got the Invite but refused to let me type a reply.
    A 5th attempt said I was still in the room even though I had closed it.
    Followed by some delay with an Error like message saying I had been Removed.
    A 6th attempt got me a new invite on the G4 but I could still not join the Chat.
    Logged out of my Main name on that computer as well.
    A 7th attempt.
    Main Account on Mac Book Pro to Second account on G4 with no duplicate Logins was successful. There is a very long delay at both ends resolving whether I had started the Chat and could see the person (Buddy) who invite to type an Accept message.
    Messages from the MacBook Pro were delayed in sending but went eventually.
    Replies from the G4 were almost instant then things improved.
    The upshot seems to be for me that having multiple Logins of each Screen Name on either computer confused things. Otherwise the function in iChat 5 seems to work.

  • Help to create complex graphs in oracle 10g reports

    As my company has migrated from 6i to Oracle 10g, but as graph ogd files are obselete in Oracle 10g , I am trying to create new graphs in Oracle 10g.
    But problem I am facing that I cannot give axis value 'LABEL' or define my own scale or draw any lines on chart or inshort plot graph as I need. Moreover no way to read objects on Chart. In forms 6i it was easy to read object with command "OG_GET_OBJECT(OBJECT_NAME)". Helps tell me to use graph.dtd but I am unable to use it or I don't know how to use it. No documentation available anywhere how to use graph.dtd syntax.
    Is it possible to achieve my above goals or any other tools to customize charts.
    Prashant

    Hello FormsEleven,
    First of all very Thanks for reply. Thanks for your valuable time given to me.
    I don't have any error in my java/jinit console infact latest jinit is running and web browser start with message applet are being loaded and Oracle forms service installed successfully. All other forms details are very well displayed on browser form, only bean area remains empty. Following are my formsweb.cfg details. Note on below [bigraph] section I have commented some lines but that also done after my form did not work.

    I would like to know how i can create a bell graph with out using sub VIs, the data that i created consists in 500 readings with values of 0 to 100, i calculated the mean value and standard diviation. I hope some one can help me

    Here's a quick example I threw together that generates a sort-of-bell-curve shaped data distribution, then performs the binning and plotting.

    Note that each Branch_Desc has 12 periods called CURRPERIOD,CURPERSUB1,CURPERSUB2 ...... and 12 values for those periods as VALUECURRENTPERIOD, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB1, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB2......
    I need to create a Line Graph for each Branch for the 12 periods as defined above where VALUECURRENTPERIOD, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB1 etc. are the values for that period. The current BIPublisher Chart tool only allows one Value and One Label. In my case I have 12 VALUES (VALUECURRENTPERIOD etc.) and 12 LABELS (CURRPERIOD, CURPERSUB1 etc.). The SERIES or LEGEND should be the Branch Desc . So what I am looking for is to plot values(12 values) for 6 branches (so six lines) over a period of time (12 periods).

    Hi Tim,
    We have this XML data calculated from several tables where the layout was in the format of One account(a Branch in this case) and 12 periodic values for the same . So reformatting the XML is not going to be easy as the source data is like this itself. I tried un-pivioting the table (as this one is already pivoted) but it looks like Oracle doesn't support this feature yet, but is suported in DB2 or SQL. Please take a look at this link
    http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/database/technology/archives/unpivot-query-12798?close=true
    So I am stuck with the data in this format and users want a line graph for each branch over he period of time. May be somone on this forum can figure out how to un-pivot a table in Oracle. Thanks for your help in advance.

  • Using iDVD, I've no problem creating a slideshow, but I want to add three seperate sound files, in this case speeches I've got in iTunes. I want to create three individual buttons/sub menu to access them individually from the photos. Can anyone help

    Using iDVD I've no problem creating a slideshow, but am having problems trying to add three seperate sound files in this case three speeches that I hold in iTunes. I want to be able to access them individually and seperately from the photo slideshow. Can anyone advise if this can be done and if it can, how I go about creating the seperate menu and buttons.

    If you'd like to integrate the speeches with the slideshow, I'd do that in iMovie where you'll have more control over the timing.  Use chapter markers at the beginning of each speech so the viewer can jump to a particular speech (note that chapter markers advance the viewer to a particular spot -- the viewer keeps watching the rest of the video until the end of everything or until they use the remote's menu button).
    If you're just wanting the speeches to be on the DVD so people can listen to the speeches after seeing your slideshow, you could:
    - use iDVD or iMovie to make a "slideshow" with just 1 image matching the length of a speech.
    - create three submenus and use the speeches as menu music.  Here's a (random) video on creating submenus:

  • Creating an XY graph with history

    Hello,
    I'm looking to create an XY graph in LabView 2013 that keeps a history of points visually on the graph. I created a simple VI to do a simple export to excel data log but it would be helpful to be able to see the point that I am saving in a graph format as well as with indicators. I have the indicator part well oiled but the graph is giving me a problem.
    Idealy I would like to be able to just run a wire from Signal A to an X axis and a wire from signal B to a Y axis (from DAQ assist select signal function), with the ability to keep all previous points through the entire test. All the examples I have come across do not use DAQ Assist, which makes me wonder if this graph is even possible. Being a novice in labview I would love a solution that just uses signals from DAQ assist.
    The points I am recording should be linear(ish) in nature
    Thanks.

    Use a shift register, or feed back node to keep a history which you build.  But be aware that you need an upper limit.  You can't let your array reach infinite size, because we don't have infinite memory.  Have it check the size and then if it is greater than some size, get a subset.

    I read the SAP help that some prerequisites need to exist:
    ==> You can only reference order items flagged as being relevant to a stock split (the Allocation table relevant indicator in the additional item data).
    Can anyone advice me where to find this stock split indicator?
    Also, can anyone advice me how to reuse an allocation table? For example, I had previously created an allocation table with many articles and various allocation rules. I already generated follow on documents for this table.
    Say after 2 weeks, I have the similar requirements that I can make use of the same table, only with minor adjustments to the quantity. How do I create a new allocation table using the existing allocation table data?
    Thanks and Regards
    Junwen

    Any idea please?
    thanks

  • Help Problem Automatic TO Creation for GR PO (Mvt. 101)

    Hi Experts,
    I have a problem creating TO automatically when material is received from PO using movement type 101. The requirement is to receive material from PO with status QI, create and confirm TO automatically into default storage bin. But when material received with status QI, it only creates TR and stuck in interim storage bin (902) then i have to create TO manually.
    All customizing for Automatic TO already done, if im using same material and receive it without QI status, TO will automatically created and placement to default storage bin will automatically confirmed. But when i'm trying to receive that material with QI status first, TO couldn't be created automatically.
    Does anyone know where i have to customize automatic TO for QI status with movement type 101?
    Rgds,
    Aleluya.

    I have not tried this scenario with material received in QI status after GR. I believe you need to create TO manually only because system will  not able to decide on his own to clear stock from QI status to unrestricted stock.
    I  know system create TO automatically when you receive goods without QI. In this case system understand to accept whole qty.
    You can create TO automatically in case of when you have QM active , you have usage decision.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Prashant

  • Need Help in creating this trigger

    I need your help to create this trigger. I need to set the default fl in this table depending on various conditions:
    If there is only one indvl with end date as null then set the default_pk column for that indvl as 'Y'
    ELSE
    If there are multiple indvl_pks in this table with NULL end date then set the default_fl column to 'Y' for the indvl_pk with the earliest start date .
    ELSE if there are multiple indvls with same start date then set the dflt_fl to 'Y' with the minimum br_pk
    I am unable to get this to work due to the mutating trigger problem.
    For example in this one rows with emplt_pk with 1001 and 1003 will be set to 'Y'.
    create table emplt
    emplt_pk number,
    indvl_pk number,
    start_dt date,
    end_dt date,
    lct_fl char(1),
    sup_fl char(1),
    br_pk number,
    nro_pk number,
    default_fl
    char(1) default 'N' );
    INSERT
    INTO emplt
    values(1001, 101, to_date ('01-01-2005', 'MM-DD-YYYY' ), NULL, 'Y','N' ,123,NULL,NULL );
    INSERT INTO emplt values(
    1002, 101, to_date ('02-01-2005', 'MM-DD-YYYY' ), NULL, 'Y','N' ,NULL,0001,NULL );
    INSERT INTO emplt values(
    1003, 102, to_date ('02-01-2005', 'MM-DD-YYYY' ), NULL, 'Y','N' ,NULL,0001,NULL );
    Thanks in advance

  • Need Help in creating Unix Shell Script for database

    Would be appreciable if some one can help in creating unix shell script for the Oracle DB 10,11g.
    Here is the condition which i want to implement.
    1. Create shell script to create the database with 10GB TB SPACE and 3 groups of redo log file(Each 300MB).
    2. Increase size of redolog file.
    3. Load sample schema.
    4. dump the schema.
    5. Create empty db (Script should check if db already exists and drop it in this case).
    6. Create backup using rman.
    7. restore backup which you have backed up.

    This isn't much of a "code-sharing" site but a "knowledge-sharing" site.  Code posted me may be from a questioner who has a problem / issue / error with his code.   But we don't generally see people writing entire scripts as responses to such questions as yours.  There may be other sites where you can get coding done "for free".
    What you could do is to write some of the code and test it and, if and when it fails / errors, post it for members to make suggestions.
    But the expectation here is for you to write your own code.

  • Problem creating Network ACL for a ROLE in Oracle 11gR2

    According to Oracle Documentation when you create a new Network ACL you can add privileges to a user or role.  I need to create a new ACL for the UTL_SMTP package for a specific role, but when I granted it the users who have that role are still getting the "ORA-24247: network access denied by access control list (ACL)" error when they try to send an email.  If I grant the ACL privilege to the same users directly it works fine.  Is there any step I'm missing?  This is the test I have made on my Solaris 10 - Oracle 11gR2 (11.2.0.3) Standard Edition server:

    I'm aware that role privileges doesn't apply inside procedures, functions or packages by default, but this is an anonymous block so it should use the active roles for the user.  I also tried adding a "dbms_session.set_role('TESTACL_ROLE');" at the beggining of the anonymous PL/SQL block but I got the same access error.
    Thanks in advance for any help you can give to me on this question, it would be very hard to grant the ACL to all the individual users as they are more than 1000, and we create more regularly.

    Thanks for your quick reply... I don't have a problem creating the basic ACL with the privileges granted for a user.  The problem appears when I try to create an ACL with privileges for a ROLE.  You can see here http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e25788/d_networkacl_adm.htm#BABIGEGG than the official Oracle documentation states that you can assign the ACL principal to be a user or role:
    Parameter
    Description
    acl
    Name of the ACL. Relative path will be relative to "/sys/acls".
    description
    Description attribute in the ACL
    principal
    Principal (database user or role) to whom the privilege is granted or denied. Case sensitive.
    My issue is that when I try to create the ACL for a role it doesn't work.
    Have you ever created an ACL for a role? if so please send me an example or let me know which step I might be missing.  Cheers.
