Help Regarding Table Maintainance
Hi,
I have created a table maintainance generator and also created a transaction code to maintain entries, HOW CAN I PUT A SELECTION SCREEN SO THAT THE USER CAN SEE ONLY THOSE VALUES CORRESPONDING TO SELECTION CRITERIA.

Still it is allowing to update the table.

Thanks in advance !!!Your transaction is just calling SM30, even though you specify these defaults all of functionality of SM30 is available.
To limit access to the table to display only you would need to either apply the authorisation concept (set an authorisation group in the table maintenance settings and restrict user access) or write a simple list report that displays the table contents and link that to a transaction.

Help regarding 'table controls' and 'internal table' updation
Hi all.
Basically this is what i have done..... I have created a table control in module pool program. I declared an Internal table and also have populated it from a database table. I have also used insert statement to insert an blank record in the table control view and delete statements to delete any record, also in the table control view... .
But I am not able to update any new record into an Internal table or the original table ..
Any Ideas how to do it ,Gurus

Hello frnds i hv to add two fields into a table but by mistakely i hv added three fields to that particular table now the problem is this when i m trying to delete the extra field it is showing me error that structure has changed and i m not able to activate the table, and even i don't hv the authorization of SE14, plz help me

Once you`ve made some changes in the database, the only way is you`ll adjust and activate the db. If you don`t have authorization to SE14,try the following options -- this might work else contact your basis for authorization :
1. In SE11 UTILITIES--->ADJUST DATABASE.
2. Execute Program SAPMSGTB with ur db name.

Regarding table VBEPDG- Dangerous goods
Hi Friends.
I need help regarding table VBEPDG.
Can anybody tell me how entries are made in table VBEPDG? Whether its configuration table or master data table?
In my purchase order an item has been wrongly marked as dangerous material,
and this is leading to table VBEPDG.

the table VBEPDG contains the schedule line data for the dangerous goods. If the material is not dangerous then the entry should not be created. Probably the material initially was classified as a dengerous one and is currently changed to the non-dangerous. Am I correct ?
In this case the entry in VBEPDG will remain because during creation of the order the material was dangerous. Quite generally, SAP does not recommend to change Customizing or Master Data in the Life-system. It can cause many inconsistencies. The correct way to do such a change would be to reject all sales documents which could be affected by such a change, then do the change and then create the sales documents again. It is for the future.
Concerning the current inconsistency. The correct way would be: to indicate the material temporary as a dangerous one again, then delete the sales order item, and then to indicate the material as a non-dangerous one and create the item again. If you have already subsequent documents, then you can only reject the item. Then the VBEPDG entry will remain, but will not disturb you anymore. Alternatively, you can write a simple ABAP report, which deletes the VBEPDG entry.

How to disable delete button in Table maintainance generator???Hi Maya,
It is very interesting question. If you debug your table maintenance screen, the program of table maintenance screen will not have statically defined pf status. So you cannot exclude delete functionalities using the below statement.
SET PF-STATUS <the GUI status> EXCLUDING 'DELE'.
For viewing pf status SAP has programmed in dynamic manner using this FM VIEW_SET_PF_STATUS.
Before calling above FM you need to exclude delete function. Follow the following step for achieving this
Go to sm30. Put your table name and press on maintain push button. It will display table entries in maintenance screen.
Go to system->status
Click on program name.
Go to your flow logic of you table maintenance screen number.
It will have following code in flow logic

Basically sap fetching status dynamically from program SAPLSVIM using FM VIEW_SET_PF_STATUS. Status name is EULG.
Please donu2019t hardcode anything by using set pf status statment, you just add one line of code the PBO by creating new module.

Problem in table maintainance generator
Hi,
I have a requirement in table maintainance generator i.e. when I clcik on se11,enter the table name and then click on new entries ,my table control that I see on the screen will have some entries that were entered earlier.
But in my case the entire table control has to be blank when I click on new entries and it should be in output mode only.So please can someone tell me how I can clear the entries .Which event should I use for this?
Another requirement is that for my table maintaianance generator,I have been asked to remove on field from the table control and place it above the table control as a text field.Now this text field is a key field.When I enter some value in this text field and click on enter,it should give me the values corresponding to this key field.Please can someone help me out with this?Which event should I use for this?

Considering there are considerable modifications to your table maintenance I would suggest you create a small module pool transaction for your requirement with a table control and code the flow logic (PBO/PAI) yourself.
For the DB update, you can use the SQL commands. Since it would be an alternative to the table maintenance for a single table, I think the database update part wouldnt be complex to handle at all.
You would need a table control same as the one in the maintenance however a wizard will make that job very easy for you.
Finally, assign a transaction to your module pool and you are good to go.
This is in my opinion not a complex development and also would be easier than trying to modify a SAP generated table maintenance, because adding a text field on top etc. would be drastic changes which cannot be accomplished by events alone.

Need to disable delete icon in over view screen (table maintainance)
In the overview screen (transaction se 54 -> generated object -> overview screen) in table maintainance i need to disable the delete icon.
Anyone can please help me in it.Hi,
check the program name for the transaction and create a screen exit for the same.
Also u can go for copying the code in customer namespace and then add ur own functionality to dactivate or remove the delete function.

Drop down list for a field in table maintainance

I have created a table maintainance for ztable. I need a drop down list for field so that user can select values present in the list while giving entries.
I can not use fixed values in domain, because feild length is more and it wont fit into fixed values.
I am trying to use VRM_SET_VALUES FM but not getting output. Can any one help me on this.

praveenWhile creating the tables, sometimes we may need to update the table fields in the background
Lets take an example, if create a table with 10 fields in those 10 fields there are 2 fields which are User name and the Date, these 2 fields should update automatically when a record Inserted/Updated in the table.
For this, we need to create a table maintenance generator for that table. There in the table maintenance generator we have an option to create EVENTS.
In the table maintenance generator, Environment --> Modifications --> Events then a screen will be appear here,we need to create the Events, for updating the fields create 05(Creating a new entry) and 21(Fill hidden fields) .
In the EVENTS screen, press new Entries, there give 05 and give a name(This will become a PERFORM), then click the Editor pushbutton, this will be there at the right side of the entry, then a popup will be appear, you can create an include program, there inside of the include program write the below code
form CREATE_ENTRY.
TABLE-USERNAME = sy-uname.
TABLE-CHANGED_ON = sy-datum.
endform.
Then in the events screen enter 21 and give the form name as HIDDEN_FIELDS, then press the editor button, then in the editor
form HIDDEN_FIELDS.
TABLE-USERNAME = sy-uname.
TABLE-CHANGED_ON = sy-datum.
update TABLE.
endform.
This CREATE_ENTRY Perform will be triggered for every new entry and the HIDDEN_FIELDS fields will be triggered for every changed value in the table, so the Fields USERNAME and the CHANGED_ON fields will be updated automatically when a new record inserted into the table or an existed record changes through the table maintenance generator.
If you want any more functions, and then look at the events, you can press the F4 and look at the description of the event, then you come to know how to use and where to use.

Date field is missing in the Table maintainance generator
Hi,
A table is created. A date field is there in that table. I tried to create a table maintainance generator for this table using 2 screens. Table maintainance generator is created. But when I go to SM30 , I am unable to see this <b>DATE</b> field in the SM30 , in the first screen. But when I go to maintainance screen , I am able to see this field. This particularly happening with date field.

I am recently working on ECC 6.0 and i want to create table maintainance generator for a ztable. Actually i hav created function grp and passed in sm30 transaction and used single screen. Problem is when i double clicking the screen number its going to se 51 and going to a standard progam named with function grp
SAPLZNEWFUNCTION. From i m confused but in that already some standard code is maintained. But there i hav created screen comprising our ztable fields..
From there i m confused .. how to link with ztable and how to create standard transaction for entering data into that screen and updating the ztable.
Frnds i hav seen so many documents .. i dont need documents ..plzz guide me with proper steps for achieveing target.

Creating Maintenance Views
Procedure
1.Enter an explanatory short text in the field Short text.
You can for example find the view at a later time using this short text.
2.Enter the primary table of the view under Tables in the Tables/Join conditions tab page.
Only those tables that are linked with the primary table (indirectly) with a foreign key can be included in the maintenance view.
3.If required, include more tables in the view. In a maintenance view you can only insert tables that are linked to one another with foreign keys.
Place the cursor on the primary table and choose Relationships. All existing foreign key relationships of the primary table are displayed. Select the required foreign key and choose Copy. The secondary table used in such a foreign key is included in the view. The join conditions derived from the foreign keys (see Foreign Key Relationship and Join Condition) are displayed.
You can also insert tables that are linked by foreign key with one of the secondary tables that was already inserted. To do this, place the cursor on the secondary table and choose Relationships. Then proceed as described above.
For maintenance and help views, there are certain restrictions on the foreign keys with which the tables can be included in the view (see Restrictions for Maintenance and Help Views). The foreign keys violating these conditions are displayed at the end of the list under the header Relationships with unsuitable cardinality.
4.On the View fields tab page, select the fields that you want to copy to the view.
Choose Table fields. All the tables contained in the view are displayed in a dialog box. Select a table. The fields of the table are now displayed in a dialog box. You can copy fields by selecting them in the first column and choosing Copy.
All key fields of the primary table must be included in a maintenance view. In addition, all key fields of secondary tables that are not involved in the foreign key (that is, which are not linked via a join condition to a key field already included in the view) must be included in the view.
This ensures that the records inserted with a maintenance view can be written correctly in the tables contained in the view.
5.On the Selection conditions tab page, you can (optionally) formulate restrictions for the data records that can be displayed with the view (see Maintaining Selection Conditions for Views).
The selection conditions define the data records that can be selected with the view.
6.In the Maintenance status tab page, define the maintenance status of the view.
The maintenance status defines how you can access the view data with the standard maintenance transaction (SM30).
7.Choose activate
8.Go to Transaction SE54 with Environment ® Tab.maint.generator.
From the view definition you can generate maintenance modules and maintenance interfaces that distribute the data entered with the view to the base tables of the view. You can find more information in Creating a Maintenance Dialog.
