you're looking for a slideshow extension. they are some great
ones out there.... you can search this forum for 'em or you can try
this one (which i've been using lately and find to be very
full-featured and pretty easy):

    I purchased a flash template that has nice effects. I would like to add Cooliris or a nice photo gallery page to the site. I contacted their help forum from where I bought the template and they say the effects are an embedded video that has to be custom editied, which I don't know how to do.

  • Need help with preloader for photo gallery

    it...I'm a begginer with flash and I have a problem...:-)
    I'm building a photo gallery which loads jpg photos inside a
    loader component by using MovieClipLoader.
    Everything works just great but my only problem is that I
    can't scale the content (the jpg's) to the size of the loader
    component.
    I tryed everything but the photos are loading bigger then the
    loader, and I wnat to have the photos bigger then the loader so

    first of all, you can't directly resize the bitmaps, you have to resize the movieclip above it. so if needed, create an empty movieclip inside another wrapper movie clip and resize the wrapper.
    then i noticed you don't have onLoadInit in your listener
    this method:
    myLIstener.onLoadInit=function(mc:MovieClip){
    will execute commands after the content is loaded. so you will have to resize your content after it's been loaded. you can't just resize something that you loaded above in your code, you have to wait until it's fully loaded
    anyways since you siad you are beginner i will list some useful tip for this job (i don't know if you already know them):
    this -refers to current movie clip
    this._parent -refers to parent movie cilp
    width and height of movie clips are controlled by _width and _height properties, not width height

    Now , i want each picture to scale when it fully loads ... i thought it will be enough to put it on the completeHandler function , but here is the problem - it scales only the last picture ..... eg. if there are 5 , it scales only the 5th ..... i tried to trace the name of the picture inside the completeHandler and also , i got 4 identical names - the name of the last picture ...... my question  is : why is the completeHandler firing only for the last item?   anyone has any idea why this is hapening? and more how can i fix it? PLEASE ... i'm burning my brain here for half a day here ..........  THANKS in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    If you are using a "for" loop to do the loading, it can process thru the entire set of loops before the first image is loaded.  If you want to have control over the loading you should load things sequencially.
    So instead of using a for loop, build a pseudo loop using an array of the files to load, a counter variable, a loading function, and a loadComplete function.  Have the loading function load just one image using the counter variable to identify which image in the array to load.  Have the loadComplete function process the one image that was just kloaded, increment the counter, and call the loading function if the counter value does not equal the length of the array.

    The problem I have encountered is that I have no idea in removing the stack gallery after I click the return to main menu button. Maybe you have to spend some time on the logic of the templates. But I really hope you guys can be patient to help.
    Well, to be honest, I have tried whole day finding out the method through google and video tutorials. Fortunately, I think I can handle in loading the stack gallery in the first page. Like using XML codes or loading .swf.
    But still can't remove/unload the gallery after I hit the return button.
    So please generous guys can give me your ideas.

    I am creating an iPad app using AS3. The app contains three sections.
    One of those sections (chocolate sources)contains Dynamic Photo Gallery using XML. The photos, thumbnails, and text in this section are loaded from XML.
    I faced may issue when I tried to run this app:
    The gallery photos didn't show up
    The thumbnails (buttons to navigate the photo gallery) didn't show up at all. (The thumbnails should show up under the photo gallery box.)
    The text doesn't show up (the text should be in every photo as describtion)
    I want to include Swipe in the photo gallery, how can I do that?
    When I click on "Chocolate Sources" button, the photo gallery appears in every section, here are print screens describe what I mean:

    and add your thumbs to gal, not the stage.  when you're done with the gallery, remove gal.

    Anyone know of a a tutorial for building a Spry photo gallery with both thumbnails and next, previous, stop and play buttons(functions)  ???

    Adobe show the source for their Photo Gallery Demos, but that doesn't help me much ... I need a prober tutorial that tells me how to do : ) 
    The only tutorial that I've been able to find, is one for Dreamweaver 8, without buttons - I'm looking for a updated version.

  • How do I only show thumbnails in the photo gallery without showing the Main Image?

    I need help customizing the Spry Photo Gallery Demo...
    I would like for the Main Image To Be Hidden when the html
    page loads. After the user clicks the thumbnail, I would like to
    have the Main Image load centered on the page(with div containing
    close button) on a z-index above the thumbnails. While the
    thumbnails layer has a fade effect to 10%. After the user clicks
    the close button the Main image disappears and the thumbnails layer
    fades back to 100%. Then the user can click another thumbnail and
    so on and so forth...
    Is this possible? I have tried everything I can think of with
    my limited knowlege of spry and cant get it to work. I just need
    help with the Large image part. The close button and fades I can
    handle.
    Any help would be most appreciated. Please let me know if
    further information is needed from me. Thank you in advance.

    There is a third-party program called Attachment Tamer that will do that for you.  In the Terminal, you can type this:
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
    Also note that while Attachment Tamer does some things with the encoding that makes certain email clients display the item as an attachment, what shows up at the receiver's end is solely dependent on their email client and its settings.

  • Photo Gallery module- isn't responsive

    Hi there,
    I am trying to find out if someone can help me with the photo gallery module. I have used the photo gallery module in a responsice template but it isn't responsive when you look at it on a phone. I have asked for help from the support but they said it is a css / html question so they can't help. This seems a bit odd as the module has been provided in a responsive template- and should really work as responsive.
    If anyone could help or knows of the code that needs to be added in to make it work, that'd be really appreciated

    Just found some javascript to help me rotate my photo gallery on a random(?) basis. I'm currently on a work PC that doesn't have Flash loaded (and doesn't let me load it!) so all I see is a blank screen asking me to dl Flash.
    Could anyone interested please test out this functionality for me? It'll save me from having to wait till getting off work tonight (7 more hours!). Click on "Gallery" to randomize the page. Let me know if the albums are actually being rotated. Thanks.

    Several people have asked me whether my gallery is actually rotating or not. I think it may not be totally apparent because some of the albums look very similar using the same viewer. I had 9 "galleries" but 7 of them used the same viewer, so unless you were very familiar with the individual photos they would look identical to one another. And as a result there was only a 2 out of 9 chance to see a radically different gallery presentation.
    I have changed things up a little. Now there are basically three presentations so each has a 1 in 3 chance of being seen. The rotation should be more apparent this way.
